Another great NSV for Lori!! well I guess it does relate to the scale, but MORE to the husband/scale! Good information for equipment purchase, Lori. I have not used other ellipticals, so I didn't realize there would be that difference. Does yours have the arm exercise option? The one at the gym does not, but I think that might be helpful, esp as one has to exercise with more intensity as weight is lost. I've seen the Nordic Track at costco - it looks darn good.

LauraK, your new guy sounds great - I too love Arena Football - so fun! Hope the weather forecast is wrong for you -- hope the snow doesn't happen. We are having another pretty, sunny day and it's 43. I went back to Penney's - had a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase and another coupon for 15%. Found more stuff for $2.97 -- this time I got turtleneck sweaters one in a teal and one in a rose color that will be great for next winter -- and a pair of skinny black jeans for $2.97 in the junior dept - not sure why they were so cheap -- but hey, I'll take them -- they were 11 jurnior short ones -- which I need so maybe they just didn't sell. I did pay a little more for a Valour top ($4) and another top and I got two new bras -- buy one regular price get one 1/2 -- so I could meet the $50 to get my $10 off. I got another little top for $14 so all in all I think my total was $68 with tax. I got another top for $2.97 but I can't even remembe what it was - now that's bad. LOL. They had boots on clearance too - but don't really need them but hard to walk by them. This shopping thing has proven to be the biggest NSV in my world - I never ever got clothes so cheap -- it's wonderful to be able to walk in a regular store and buy stuff cheap that fits!! Wow. Laura, if you feel up to it you should try the 5 day pouch test before you get another fill - it's hard to tell if you have good restriction -- I used to think but I was eating so many sliders and carbs that would make me hungry between meals. Good to hear from you Julie -- sounds like you're feeling a bit better, hope so anyway. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Linda

I came back on cause I can't believe I forgot to brag about my purchases last week. Remember, I went shopping at a mall last Wednes. after my fill -- when I went to Victoria's Secret to buy bras. Well, Younkers was practically next door and they were having trememdous sales - plus I had printed off some good coupons as well. I tried on some jeans and some other things and wanted to buy a few items -- well, I couldn't find a cashier -- mall wasn't very busy and most of the cashier areas were closed - I finally found one and there were at least 10 people in line. At that point the weather was getting nasty (snowing pretty good) and I felt I shouldn't risk standing in line half an hour, so I threw the clothes down and left. Well, I got to thinking later that night about shopping on line -- got on line and found all the clothes I wanted - was able to use my coupons just like in the store -- didn't even have to pay shipping with one of my coupons -- and voila! they came today! Got a fabulous boiled wool jacket (size 12 petite in a gorgeous blue color) -- tag says $98 but paid only $19.99. Got 2 pair of Gloria Vanderbelt jeans (size 12 petite) for $17.99 from $38 and a another nice shirt for 70% off -- altogether I think $250 worth for under $100 -- so I was proud -- DH always says, "gee, you save me so much money by shopping!" But you gotta buy things when the prices are like that!! I had to try on the clothes at the store, cause I had no idea what sizes I would wear -- I was shocked at the size 12 in the jacket and the jeans -- jeans with a zipper!! That's a major NSV for me!! Sorry if it sounds like bragging but had to share! Linda

JoAnn, CONGRATS!!! You are almost there!! All this time of waiting has gotten you so prepared there's no doubt that you are going to be an amazing success!! RE: Calories per day, I just read 3 pages of posts from while I was gone and there was a lot of discussion as to how many calories a day to eat. My average is 700-800 and that is w/o counting my exercise. I don't want to get in the habit of exercising for more food. I had a great weekend in Colorado springs. The marrige retreat was wonderful. We ate out a lot but I did really well. for the most part DH & I shared an entree, that keeps the bill much smaller too. I told him we can eat out twice as much now! And a great NSV! On the way home I wanted to stop at the outlet mall as it's about 45 miles from my house so not an easy trip to just go to but we were driving right by it. I knew there was an Ann Taylor there and since my shopping trip last week and fitting into some clothes from there I wanted to explore. I got a new sweater there. Then my Daughter wanted me to check out the Gap Outlet for some 'Long and Lean' jeans in a 6 Xtra long. They didn't have them and they had a 20. So I tried them on, totally expecting them not to fit. Guess what???? THEY FIT!!! Of course they were the 'curvy' fit but I don't care. it's so freeing to know my next jeans i don't have to buy at Lane Bryant. I can actually go to the Gap! I didn't even have to struggle to button them. I didn't buy them as they had many flaws and I do have enough jeans to wear right now. But am anxious to need new ones now!

Laura, HAPPY BANDIVERSARY!! 90 pounds is amazing. I'm very proud of you. Charlene, very interesting about the planned diet. Yes, let us know when this starts. I have no doubt it will work, anything works if you stick with it completely. And learning how to eat differently is what this journey is all about. Although my weight loss is very slow and goes is spurts, what I'm noticing is I will lose weight and then slow down and not lose for a while. My body does still look the same and then a few weeks later, although my body still looks the same (and I knew it would) it's getting smaller. Suddenly I can fit in a size smaller and my butt is smaller and my fat gut is smaller. I have 3 new pairs of size 20 pants that fit...they fit really well. I haven't been in a size 20 since at least 1995 or 96 maybe....it's been a very long time. I'm not doing killer exercise, but whatever I'm doing, it's working. Guess this is a NSV for me. Okay, gotta go to work. Later ladies, have a great day!! Eva

Lori The words and thought are for everyone really - as I said in a post I was typing as you were posting this one - we are all the same. I am glad you are better - ya I hate pain meds too - they make you feel out of sorts and they don't let you sleep well. Congrats on the 2x falling off that's a great NSV - and get the tired by the time you got dresses. Heck I don't have the excuse of surgeyr - I did change out of jammies to house dress and brushed my teeth - but that's all I have done today...

Hey Phyl, never heard of a "Mob party" but anything with the word party in it sounds fun to me! Apples....man does it sound cold where you live, I just love the winters here, 30 min from pine trees and snow. I get to look at it and not live in it! LauraK...The walks have been going really good, yesterday afternoon was the first afternoon I took off in about nine days! Then today I will be back at it morning and afternoon! Yeah, I had a nsv.....I fit into a pair of wranglers that were toooooo small! And my belly did not hang over when I zipped them up! I just get so excited and happy.....walk a little taller and smile at strangers a little more...well, because I'm feeling good in my wranglers! Charlene----sending a prayer your way! Today my sis is coming over and staying for dinner, I'm making meatloaf and a salad. yum, yum. Well everyone, take care, drive safe, eat right, and sleep well..(that just about covers it) oh yeah, get up and move!

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Well, I did it. I consumed an entire Taco Bell Naco Grande platter. By.My.Fucking.Self. No, I did not need it. No I did not need it. No I did not need it. Although, before banding I would of consumed mine plus hubbys and then some of DD and then maybe some tacos on top of that....with mexi fries and a huge ass drink. So, I guess I am still up and up from before banding. One NSV I had the other day at grocery store. I ran into an old friend and haven't seen her in about a year. She says, "looks like you lost some weight".....hell, I was happy that someone noticed.... I could of kissed her...on the mouth....with some tongue....(just kidding, just had to throw that in for you J!!, and the guys)

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

okay everyone....I had a NSV today!!!! Last month I had a pair of jeans I had bought..they were my very first button jeans bought in years. They were a size 24. I wore them to the doctor and we went and test rode bikes. I ripped them when they got caught in the derrailler. So, I went to the store to get a new pair, and they didnt have a size 24, but had a size 22. Well, I ended up buying them knowing they would not fit. I had tried them on a few times this past month, and did not fit. TODAY LADIES AND GENTS....THEY NOT ONLY FIT BUT ARE COMFY!!!!!! YES, 6 MONTHS LATER AND I HAVE GONE FROM A SIZE 30/32 TO A SIZE 22.... WTF??? WOOHOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I AM SO THANKFUL TO HAVE THE FRIENDS AND SUPPORT AND THE DESIRE TO CONTINUE TO LOOSE. THE BAND HAS GIVEN ME A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON MY LIFE, AND I CANT WAIT UNTIL EVEN THESE GET TOO BIG. THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE THE MESSAGE BOARD WITH YOU TO SHARE THIS NEWS

Okay. Just had another NSV. I’m at my local spa waiting for a massage to try to work these kinks of my lower back. I go to this spa about 3-4 times per year. Anyway, they have 2 sets of ladies robes: normal and plus size and they are on different sides of the locker area. I learned this once to my dismay a couple of years ago when I showed up for a treatment and they were running low on plus size robes. Until then I’d had no idea they had always led me to one side for a specific reason. Needless to say, it was humiliating to be told (kindly) that they were waiting for a robe my size. This time around after I checked in, they took me to the side with the “normal” size robes. Progress

Sheribear you look amazing! You can definitely see it! I'm down another pound after my monthly stall and bounce around. I guess this is just the way my body is going to lose weight! Jeans are getting loose now - I had a NSV today and tried on the next size down and they fit.

It's my exact 3-month surgiversary today! And I almost missed celebrating it due to annoying life dramas I got going on at the moment. Wishing a happy surgiversary to our triplets (quadruplets??) Marine, Gotta, and... oh, dear. Who else was on the 14th?? My bad! I'm hoping to break out some before and after pics and potentially some measurements, too. (Probably tomorrow, though... I need hubby to take some pictures!) I'd love to celebrate some more 3-month surgiversary stats and NSVs with everyone! How're you all going?

I am amazed over and over about how supporting this March group of Shamrocks has been to each other since we 'met' in early 2008 when we found out we had March surgery dates. Your many blessings and wishes of peace and comfort were tremendous and I say thank you. I did eat a crazy diet these past days but I don't think I've gain which is a NSV for sure. I do believe stress makes our bands and restriction tighter but I found room for a donut this morning before the funeral (ugh!!) and a dish of ice cream (at least it was only 1 scoop) before the funeral calling hours yesterday. Okay Fenton, we both have to get back on the wagon or whatever saying the English or Parisians say to get our butts in line again with eating. I'm starting tomorrow when I wake up and start a new day. Again, many thanks for all my Shamrock Support!

Amanda, Thanks for the pep talk. I really need to find a behaviour modification therapist that is in our plan who does not cost an arm and a leg. I have to get these head issues under control....and I know I will. NSV...yesterday my 2.5 yr old daughter had minor surgery. We were in this little pre-op play room and I had put my rather large bag on my chair beside me. I got up to help my daughter with something and when I went to sit back down I was going to move the bag. The space for my bottom looked way, way, way too small. I did not move the bag, I just sat down and I fit! Last year at this time I was filling a chair like that with my bottom and upper body filling it touching the arms of the chair. I really have come far. I just feel stalled right now and I guess that's OK for a little while. There has been a lot of stress here lately and that does not help. Christine

I think we're all agreed that Lisa's sister is an earthbound incarnation of Evil for wanting to barbecue while she's on liquids, but refusing to allow them to go ahead with their plan - particularly if they're paying rent - might be a bit difficult. Maybe it's because I'm British and avoid confrontation wherever possible, but I'd probably let them barbecue, and go to the movies and then sit by a river and drink my Protein shake and cry, then go home really late and throw all their leftovers in the garbage. But that's just me!!! Welcome aboard SweetPea 2 - and thanks for sharing your diet. One of the things we've noticed here is how different everybody's doctor-recommended food plan is! And CONGRATS to you SV types (I'm assuming that if there's an NSV, there's also an SV)! I myself had one today too - weighed myself without my heavy Endless Winter clothes, and found that my total loss is now 48 lbs! (That's since starting this process; 21 since surgery.) And Ajoneen, have fun at your Hindoo ceremony! Don't ask "WHERE'S THE BEEF??", because that would be the Wrong Question to ask at a Hindoo Ceremony of Love...

Lisa- fantastic list of things that you have accomplished, and many NSV's!!!! It made me reflect on the things that I am grateful for too. Thanks for sharing:) Wifey- I have noticed for myself, as I go thru this life's journey... When I began to pay more attention to my needs, instead of running around and taking care of everyone else... unfortunately this can sometimes lead us into unexpected places. My DH and I have had some very serious issues in the past, that divorce has been discussed. Thank goodness, we have come to an understanding, and have decided to stay together and raise our children together. The problem will always be there, but so far we both have put each other and our children first... and we are both very content with our lives the way it is. However, no guarantees in life, it could change at anytime... but I know I put forth the best I had to offer. I wish you peace and happiness with wherever this leads you:)

NSV - At yesterday's family gathering I saw someone I had not seen since last xmas. She didn't even recognize me. We had a good laugh after she realized who I was. It was nice to "shock" someone that much. :tongue2: Hope everyone had a great day. The food was a plenty, and I tried to be careful!! as much as possible. Lots of salad and cheese for me..and a few glasses of wine!!

Hi Scrappy, The 130 is what doctors say would put me at 22 BMI. That to me is a little scary. Thank you for the well wishes. Hi Christine. I would also be thrilled to have only gained 16 lbs being completly unfilled. Congrats go out to you!!! Sometimes it is the NSV that are more important than what the scale says.

The only thing that was seller for me on getting the LB was the statistics. something about people who have lost weight on their own only have a 10% chance of keeping it off; and with the LB there is an 85% chance of keeping it off. Fenton, you are doing great and I hope your brother will take your NSV and weight loss as an inspiration, because it is to me. When I am feeling down or annoyed with my LB I always like to read your comments to others and it makes me feel much better.... :crying:
