Ack! My internet provider is being really crappy lately... very spotty service... on one sec... off the next... I wrote a post about my MAJOR NSV today... but it vanished... here it is again... So my gf & I were in a coffee shop this morning waiting for our lattes & there was this guy there & we started talking about the lids & joking around, etc... and then our coffees come & my gf & I go sit at a table, and she says to me, "That guy was totally flirting with you!" & I'm like "Huh?" because I have not been flirted with in more than 20 years, so she re-runs the scene and -- OMG! -- She's Right! He was flirting with ME!! I was wearing what I think of as my sexy "Laura" outfit -- the low-cut top that make my boobs look BIG (my gf said she thinks of it as the "St. Pauli Girl"'s top -- ha ha!) & my new cool jeans... PLUS I'm not wearing my wedding rings because they fall off now... I was stunned & thrilled all at the same time! What an ego boost! I liked it!!!

Remember...we just gotta get through the holidays, then 08 we are all back to our spring selves!!! I know the holidays are tough for so many reasons..focus on your many blessings...we all should! TracyKS~ your post is the real Christmas! Have a wonderful season. And the fudge...omg...I remember mom and grandma making fudge. I always was involved w/ the "testing" stage of the fudge production. Congrats on your NSV! Terry~ Your gift sounds wonderful! There is a very lucky violet who will look stunning in your gift! I have my gift for my SS. I am so excited and hope she likes it! I will get it into the mail this week! I am so excited for the holidays this year! Last night we went to the Festival of Lights parade w/ some friends of ours. Then we came home here and had 2 bottles of wine and played electronic Monopoly! We had a blast and stayed up til 1am! That never happens. But the holiday season is so fun and filled w/ family and friends...and wine!!! I should clarify something. We are planning a trip to Europe this summer, but we have not settled on anything yet. I am pretty sure we are going, but I've left the majority of the planning up to Susanne because she is from Germany and knows how best to travel. Since I planned our last vaca...this one is up to her. I am kinda in trouble too. She is retiring on May 16! But I think she will be in Phoenix w/ her mom...so I am in the clear for our trip! But the look on her face when I told her broke my heart. Then she remembered she will be gone. I am just praying she doesn't have her retirement ceremony that weekend. That won't even be a decision...I will be w/ her (keep your fingers crossed that the ceremony is in April). Ok...sorry for the long post! Enjoy your Sunday! xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxox

OH OH OH!! And I had an NSV today at lunch! Was trying on some new clothes (everything is BIG in my closet!!!) and instinctively went for the 16W's, which is the next size down for me. They were all too big! Guess what?? 14W's are just right!! That's a drop of 2 sizes so far!! Almost into the regular womens sizes!...maybe another 10#. Now THAT is gonna be one helluva day.

TracyinKS... Mad Props on your NSV!!! (I just learned those words!!) You've done sooo well. Now, keep yourself, Robbie and your happiness foremost in your mind. Big Hugs to you for what you're going through. I'm off to a PMS luncheon. Catch ya all later this afternoon!!

I managed to make the whole cake w/out any of the ingredients going into my mouth. This is a MAJOR NSV!! In fact, dd & I even THREW OUT an "EXTRA" piece of ice cream sandwich!! :smile2:

Wish I had musical talent. I played the clarinet – in 5th thru 8th – but I wasn’t any good. I have also tried the piano and organ – can’t count that is my trouble. I got new glasses -- what do you think? My husband picked them out -- I have 30 days to return if I don't like them. Be honest - what do you think?

Good morning Vi's!! Just finished catching up. denise, the pic you posted of you won't load for me.. I wanna see!! Repost!! Your DD is beautiful! Well our trip went.. like our trips normally go LOL. We were leaving at 8am on Saturday. DH & I struggled to be up, showered and ready by then, we ended up at my parents house at about 9am. Last minute, while we're drinking coffee and heading out the door, my mom decides she wants to go after all. So we wait for her to pack, we hit the road. It's been 70's in Florida, so we were anticipating walks on the beach. My g'parents needed their 2nd car brought down, so me & DH drove their lincoln, and my parents led the way. Not 30 minutes out of town, it starts pouring.. raining cats & dogs!!! It's normally a 6.5 hour drive.. it took us nearly 10. We hit thunder storms everywhere. The lincoln's windshield wipers didn't work well, and the headlights don't seem to shine on the ground.. so we held our breath a lot, hoping we lived to get there. Somewhere around Dothan, AL we hit a tornado warning. Cars were pulling off, so we found a Barnes & Nobles to hang out in. I was soaking wet by time we got inside. I found Rosie O'Donnell's new biography of what happened with the View, so I got that.. and then another biography called Stolen Lives. Rosie's one is just sad, she is so 'out there' for me (I am republican and she is just a liberal looney toon). But it was interesting to see her take on what happened. I am 3/4 through the 2nd one, and OMG.. it's a true story about the family of a general in Moscow, and the dad tried to assassin the King.. the King killed him, and imprisoned his family (Mom, 5 kids.. ages 18 years old to THREE years old) for 20 years before their release. Not a normal prison. A place in the middle of the desert, they starved them, beat them, isolated them from each other.. the 3 year old grew up and never knew what life outside of this was. I am to a point where they are breaking out of one of the prisons. The 3 year old is now 17. It's horrific, I can't believe these things can happen. I plan to try to finish it before work is over. Ok back to the trip.. we cross into Florida and the news comes on the radio saying Tornado warning in Bay county. IRONICALLY as we hear this, we pass a sign saying "Welcome to Bay County". UGH. We decided to just keep going.. 35mph in terrential rain at night with no good headlights or wipers. We finally get there, and the rain has stopped at the condo. It's in the 70's, feels great. We went to a fancy steak house.. I got some filet mignon medallions with shrimp, lump crabmeat & bernaise sauce on them. NUM NUM. Each medallion was 3oz.. I ate 1/2 of one (slow slow slow) took me an hour, but I was determined to eat it. I also ate 1 of the shrimp. We went to bed, tired from the day. We wake up the next morning with plans to go to the beach.. and it's 30's!!!! IT WAS SO COLD AND WINDY!!!! BAH. DH Has never seen a beach. We went to some souvenir shops in the morning, then we went to lunch.. then we went putt-putting (in big coats). Then me, DH and mom went walking the beach.. in the freezing cold. We even got in the water to our waist (was suppose to be knees, but the tide came in). Got some seashells.. was fun.. and cold! On our way back to the condo we got in the heated pool to rinse the sand off and warm up. Then we watched the survivor finale. Poor Denise!!!!! I almost cried for her, poor nice lady. I can't believe Todd won. But out of Todd, Amanda and Courtney I didn't want any of them to win. I couldn't believe how much weight Courtney put on after the show, she finally looks normal!! Then we drove home yesterday. Lots of sunshine but still cold, and it's cold back home now. No snow weather of course, but it's so cold it hurts. I did have an NSV in Florida.. I have never been able to wear girlie jewelry.. they don't fit my wrist or neck. But at some of the beach shops, they had really pretty leather bracelets for women, and the woven ones, etc. And every single bracelet I tried on, even the buckled ones.. FIT! I'm wearing one now. I was so excited I bought 3 different leather ones.

TracyK....isn't it great to know that the weight gain is not permanent anymore??? I just love the fact that this is not going to be yet another yo-yo attempt at dieting. This is the real thing and that little band will help US achieve our goal!! Theresa... woooo hooooo on the ring. It's all those little NSV's that keep us going!! Today I'm going to wear a pair of capri's that are a size 14/16W and I had set aside for when we go to Disney on the 21st of August. They didn't fit when I bought them a couple of weeks ago and now, here I am wearing them!!! Time to get dressed and head on down for our fill. Everyone have a great day and remember... WWJD??!!!

Good morning everyone!! Now if the tooth I had pulled wasn't bad enough, I have ulcers in my mouth right in the crease of my cheek & gums...OMG, is my mouth ever going to feel normal again? I put oragel but it burns so badly when I first put it on that I am a wimp to use it. With my luck it is some kind of gum disease and I have used up all my dental insurance for the year so now what? Have any of you ladies heard of any good home remedies for mouth ulcers? Would it be a dentist I need to go to? My whole left side of my head hurts. Dear Jesus, I am falling apart!! Oh, and now my medium size boobies are now small boobies. I refuse to be an "A", so if they shrink any more, it will be new boobs with my TT. I did not wanna do that BUT I am not gonna tolerate A's either!! I need to get my wedding ring downsized....it can just slip right off my finger, which I suppose is a NSV. Oh well, at least my bowels are moving. So I guess it could be worse!! OK, that all the whining I can handle from myself this morning! :confused: Everyone have a great day!

Haydee, I am the same way! When I went in for surgery the only thing that really even bothered me was the shot in my tummy..... aHHHHH that freaked me out. The IV was a bit of a pain, but since I have had many IV's I knew what to expect. So I am worried about my fill tomorrow as well. I think I am going to take some of my liquid vicoden before I head to the Dr.s. You all are so funny. I am having a rotten day and then I read these posts and just started laughing! OMG this is so funny! "So this morning I got to work early and I decided I'm going to do some of that ab work where you get on all fours." That is something that would happen to me! Judy, Tell DH good job!! Also great job on your NSV. Everyone with fills this past week how are you feeling? Are you losing yet? (please please give me hope!) Are you still on liquids or able to eat?

Good afternoon, Violets. Had my weigh in this morning and I'm down 4# from last week so I'm thrilled. I played in a flute duet for the early service today and sang a solo in the later service. Everything went beautifully and I got soooooo many compliments on how much weight I've lost. It was so good seeing a friend that I had not seen in 6 months and have her gushing over my transformation. Soooo many NSV's today!! We went out for brunch and there was only a buffet, but I was ok. Just had some scrambled eggs, 2 sausage links and some fruit.. AND I got to talk lapband to lots of people who were asking how DH and I had lost the weight. I find it really fun to be able to talk about the band and answer questions. I feel like an expert on it even though it's only been 4 months. I'm going to go take a nap now since i got up at 6 this morning. I'll hit the pool and do some biking (YIKES!) this evening. Gotta get back on and conquer the fear of falling again. CAN'T WAIT to see your pics, Kat!!!!! Everyone have a great afternoon..

Terri-great to see you still have your sense of humor....love it!! :eek: Question for all violets.... We ahave all had NSVs and SV right? here is the question. What was your favorite NSV you have had? My answer...my fav NSV is a tie. First was putting on my first ever pair of 12/14 pants. The other was how proud my ob/gyn was of me. I could hear him down the hall from my room telling people about it What are your favs? The needle stick today did not hurt at all thank goodness. Kat-Our house is one whole street over from where we are now LOL At least it won't be any trouble driving back & forth during the moving process. I hope everyone has a great evening!

Good morning everyone, Well, the scale has been bouncing from 218.5 to 221 and that is disheartening considering I have mostly been drinking my meals. I will just chalk it up to water weight and take a fluid pill today!! Yesterday I had a great NSV...one of the guys at work (that does not know about the surgery) commented on my weight loss...he was the first one so I ran to him and hugged him!! Everyone have a great day and remember what Judy always says....

Woot! Another NSV this evening! I went to the Y w/DD & DH... they were going to play racquetball & I figured I'd do the treadmill or the weights... but as I was walking in I saw the schedule of aerobics classes and starting @ 6 was a "Zumba" class!... I'd seen a piece on it on the "Today" show about a year ago... latin-dance inspired exercise... so I thought I'd "give it a whirl!" (my motto!)! All I can say is "Whoo!" It kicked my butt -- but in a fun way! All that latin music made me crave a 'rita after!! ha ha! I was soaked w/sweat -- seriously, my hair looked like I just got out of the shower! DD was incredulous, because it is known far & wide that "Momma doesn't like to sweat!" This is all part of my new resolve to try new exercises & GMIAG!! I am proud of myself that I was spontaneous and tried something new!! I will definitely go back if/when my schedule allows (it is *very* rare that I can do something like that in the evening, but because ds was sick & dd amazingly didn't have an activity, I was able to tonight!) Going to go log in on bodybugg & see how many steps & cals it was!!

okay everyone....I had a NSV today!!!! Last month I had a pair of jeans I had bought..they were my very first button jeans bought in years. They were a size 24. I wore them to the doctor and we went and test rode bikes. I ripped them when they got caught in the derrailler. So, I went to the store to get a new pair, and they didnt have a size 24, but had a size 22. Well, I ended up buying them knowing they would not fit. I had tried them on a few times this past month, and did not fit. TODAY LADIES AND GENTS....THEY NOT ONLY FIT BUT ARE COMFY!!!!!! YES, 6 MONTHS LATER AND I HAVE GONE FROM A SIZE 30/32 TO A SIZE 22.... WTF??? WOOHOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I AM SO THANKFUL TO HAVE THE FRIENDS AND SUPPORT AND THE DESIRE TO CONTINUE TO LOOSE. THE BAND HAS GIVEN ME A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON MY LIFE, AND I CANT WAIT UNTIL EVEN THESE GET TOO BIG. THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE THE MESSAGE BOARD WITH YOU TO SHARE THIS NEWS

Good morning violets- I actually slept all night and if I had weird dreams, i don't remember them! Those Chantix pills have been making me wake up 4 times a night so last nast was a real peaceful and restful night! I really needed that. Man...it is quiet with macy gone. I know she is having a blast. The party for her 'pop' went good yesterday. I only had one small sliver of cake. OH...I forgot to tell you all something. I ate a fold over chicken salad sandwich the other day! You are probably thing....ummm, so what. Here is the deal. That is the first peice of bread I have allowed myself to eat since 04/11/07. OMG, you would have thought it was a 9 course meal. I devoured every bite! It is nice to be in control of what I stick in my pie hole!! Anyway, I am just proud of that and wanted to share it with you all. Terri-ask your ps if he has a 2 for 1 deal going on :tea: Kat-i feel so bad for you. I am praying that your tooth heals quickly! Jane-you were a woman of alot of words in your last post....are you OK? Judy-how was your concert last night? Michelle-great NSV! way to go!! Pam-are you still on your trip? Who is that itty bitty girl being terrorized by that giant pink pig??? oooooooooooooooooo it's MEEEEEchelle!! Cute pic! I for one am very happy in my new body and was falling into the trap of convincing myself that I could eat snacks as long as I ate little amounts. That philosophy was totally wrong and was making the pounds slowly climb up a couple of ounces at a time. sooooo I said enough is enough and I am one of the fortunate people who can actually say it and mean it. I guess that attitude comes with the extra years along with maturity and wrinkles! :ohmy: I have been doing really great since the beginning of this month and the NSVs along with a new excitement for exercise are helping me through this mental plateau. I really believe exercise is an extremely important key along with drinking the required amount of water. How many of you can say honestly that you get the required amount of water and exercise each day??? I am sooooooooo working on that now and I find I can't even go in the living room anymore without picking up some weights, or my stretching thingy or jumping on the elliptical. Just like when food is there, I eat it.... when the equipment is there, I do it. Hearing that Tracy can get into size 10 jeans (wooo hooo girl) makes me a little upset cause I'm 20# less than her and am in 16's and 14's, BUT, I used to be in 22/24 so I can't feel sorry for myself. And even though I'm a minister's wife, I'm still human and the looks I get from guys now are flattering, not humiliating. Course most of them are in their 70's and their eyesight ain't the best, but it's the principle of the thing, right??? Well, it's been a lazy day today. No Ethan cause his daddy is home from work. Our tax man called and we owe $250 to state, but get $1400 back from Federal. Course we won't see it cause it gets applied to our quarterly payment, but that means I don't have to pay anything but the $250 on April 15th. I already had money set aside for that so guess where that goes??!! Can we say San Antonio?????:biggrin: And DD Kris called to tell me she doesn't have school tomorow. The college is closed again because of the ice and that's a very, very rare occurance. She's going nuts at home alone though. She can't get out of her driveway. I'm off to look at dinner stuff. I'm fixing pepper steak in the pressure cooker. should be interesting. The Bobster has Bible study tonight and has to leave by 5:30 so I better get going. Catch ya'all later!

Ay-yi-yi.........just looked at the 401K....makes my stomach sick! Good thing we don't have everything wrapped up there. Denise, I fainted once when I was pregnant! I had gone by where my ex husband worked, and we had walked behind the counter (parts dept.) and down an aisle, to talk $$$. I started seeing black dots, and woke up to every counterman in the store standing over me! Never happened again.....no idea why it did then! I had just come from lunch---which is why we were arguing money! I had spent some!!! OMG! LOL Anyway, the pregnancy advanced just fine, no other serious issues, I did end up with a tooth that give me crap the entire pregnancy, and ended up with a root canal when she was like 9 days old! Baby was fine though! Dang near 9 lbs! Hope your DD is feeling better, and that all goes well!!! Hugs! Tracy, hope Macy is feeling better tonight---how are YOU feeling? Do you think you have what she does, or are you simply exhausted? Keep us updated, you are such a good Mommy! Yes Terry you can come over and play under the tent with Kinsey and I! Yes---I sat under the table and played!!! I had to! I am the only one of us who can read she told me! Was fun, and was also a huge NSV for me. Crawling! I fit under there, and I was able to manuever around. I can't describe it, it was just fun----I loved being able to play with her under there, and not have to decline for lack of being able. Good Morning Violets~ First late me say that I am sorry I have been a crappy Violet lately. I read everything and think of all these witty posts, then when I really have time to say anything, I forget. I don't say feel better soon, great NSV,proud of you for doing the walk, good luck w/ the PS, and all the other nice things everything you all say to each other. I am just busy, but I LOVE YOU ALL, AM PROUD OF YOU ALL, WISH ANY AILING VIOLET WELL WISHES...forgive me! We went to nephew's karate class last night! 4 year old boys...too cute! I loved it. I'll post pix as soon as I have time to get them up. OK...TGIF!!! We are going to see the movie Nights in Rodanthe today w/ a bunch of people! Then home to grade more papers! I'll pop in later from work. Friday's the kids take 2 tests...:tongue2:

Another 2.7 miles tonight. I feel great. There were 3 of us walking, all banders...we agreed that walking with someone else is so much easier than alone and being able to talk about what is or is not working for us and sharing in the SV & NSV. We plan on heading out again Sunday morning. I haven't done any other types of exercise, but am happt with the walking. I have my exercise ball and will go an dbuy some resistance bands and gonna start working on my arms and mis section..... Want to look my best for my nephew's wedding 5/18. fist time i have seen family since late January...... The positive comments from my co-workers are a definite NSV. I guess the word got out while I was out of work for thoise 3 weeks. That is ok. because that also gives me extra incentive o be on task with my eating at work!!!!! Thinking positive +++++ each minute, each hour, each day is one more step to a healthier life.

Evening everyone.. Well, it was a semi-relaxing day. DD and I took down the tent and DH put it away. We went out to lunch and I had half a cup of broccoli cheese soup and a side grilled chicken Greek salad at Applebees. Dh had a NSV there.. he brought food home in a box!! He's never had leftovers to take home before!!! I had his leftovers for supper tonight.. smothered chicken breast and 1/4 cup of mashed red skin potatoes. I got my exercise in for sure today.. 30 minutes of water aerobics this afternoon, then 30 minutes at Curves and another 30 minutes of water aerobics this evening. When the pool water is 86, ya gotta take advantage of it here in Northern Michigan!! Supposed to be just as warm tomorrow. I'm going to work my volunteer shift at the hospital and then invite a couple of lady friends to come join me in the pool.. mostly for lounging and gossiping!! My singing group has a rehearsal in the evening and we're supposed to see thunderstorms tomorrow evening sometime. I'm going to take this exercised body to bed and watch a little tv before I nod off. Everyone have a great evening.. !!

HELLO Fellow Violets!!!!!!! I had a hard time getting in today so now it is already afternoon! I was VERY happy to see the weight on my siggy this a.m. now I want those 230's!!!!! I have had 1 pc cajun string cheese 1 fairly large pc of meatloaf 1 cookie ( ) 44 oz's of water..... My sister and her best friend just started a colon cleansing program Colon Cleansing, Constipation, IBS, Colonix, Cleanse, Detox – Online Resource and I am about ready to try it myself, I wonder if it would be ok for us! I'm guess it would be since we have all our innards. I will warn you the pics on the website are DISGUSTING so if you thought my surgery pictures were gross..... BE WARNED..... I will also say that my sis (who is only on day two) is already a believer.. she's had bathroom problems her ENTIRE LIFE... she used to run from my grandma if she had a bar of soap in her hand! LOL sad but true. Feed back anyone???? NSV: I am now able to wear 5 pairs of my old jeans and two of my old "good" bra's that I had gotten too wide for. My boss, today said he could tell I was losing weight.... (HE DOES NOT KNOW I HAD SURGERY) but he does know that I'm on a diet and paid to see a nutritionist. Also... this is pretty amazing because he is a near retirment normally unobservant MAN!

Judy - I do feel better, and since my sundress is a 14, even better, but I would love to see you in that cheerleading outfit...:smile2: I do have to say, I am a work in progress, this month has been very emotional and I think a lot of my insecurities come out from all the soul searching for my baniversary, but on the up side, I also realized what I need to do and what i need to eat. 6 months ago my dr wanted me to add crazy stuff to my diet to lower my chlosterol even more, i was now just borderline, and that was what messed me up - so i'm back to post surgery to get back on track. Overall in the last year, I have come a long way, not just weight wise, but my mental state too. I would never go out and hold my head high. The other night when I went out, people were actually able to squeeze by me and I didn't have to move to get out of their way... now that is an NSV if I do say so myself?

I know it is not possible, but the scale shows that I have gained 14 pounds since last Friday? I am seriously retaining water, but... Sooo no nsv here........... I get my fill a week from tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!! My Dr. will FREAK if my weight is still that high!!!!! Oh well. Judy the outfits are soo cute!! My computer is acting funny, couldn't get on last night and seemed to fight with it this morning to get on. Don't know what the problem is. My laptop broke yesterday, don't know if I am getting it fixed or not. Have a good day everyone!!!
