1. Wow, congrats on all your NSV's!! I know you must be thrilled. That hummus from TJ sounds so.... :w00t: I must try it. Sounds to me like hummus is a good thing when you're banded, because it goes down easy. I guess it's pretty healthy, yea? OMG Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back. What a weakness! I look forward to the Fall for three reasons: cooler weather, Pumpkin Ale, and Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I'm done for. Good thing I'm getting band in November! OH YEA! Did you see my new colorful siggy??!! The people over in the November thread wanted Notorious Newvembers, but I said that was too weird-sounding. So I sort of chose Notorious Novembers, whether they like it or not. I hope they don't get mad at me! :mad2:
2. Yippie! I just got my HgbA1C results! It's 5.3. That means my average blood sugar is running 110. I am thrilled! Before losing weight, I was pre-diabetic and I couldn't get my A1C below 5.6. It just wouldn't budge! Another NSV! I love NSV's!!!
3. Gosh, lots of positive stuff in the last 24 or so hours! Dork: cute glasses! congrats on NSVs... tucker update (ignore if you are tired of dog talk:wink2:) He is doing great. No coughing, freight train breathing, or vomiting. He is eating more in quantity and in frequency. He is getting stronger in his back legs (all the better to hop up into my favorite chair). We are so optimistic about his future; it will be our responsibility to make sure he eats and drinks in a correct posture...a flat plane position. Good news for me! I calculated that I have lost 20 lbs. since surgery, which was only 17 days ago, making a total of almost 34 lbs so far:lol: As I mentioned earlier, I am coming on 23rd for my first fill and have to say I am a little anxious about it. I have had no probs so far at all and I am envisioning trouble after a fill. Tell me, am I being anxious for no reason?
4. So I had a great NSV today! I was trying on slacks at Kohl's and tried a 24 which was huge (I am normally a 22 now but slacks can run small) And then I tried on a 20 because it was the only other size and I wanted to see how close I was. IT FIT!!!!! I officially bought a size 20 because it fit!! YAY!!!!!
5. Please don't be scared, it's me! I needed to mix things up a little! Well, I lost another 3.6 lbs this morning. I am hoping to lose more tomorrow. I am watching my fat intake today! Back on track, am I! I've got to get this poundage off! For me the real NSV will be when I don't have so many problems with Water weight. Then and only then will I know I have reached a good place! Adork, I'm sorry you're having a hard time! Use all in your power to talk that doctor into giving you that gallbladder test! It's very important that you are able to rule it out. Then you're right, you can move forward. Have you had any more problems? Shelbi, I think your labs are almost identical to mine. I have started eating steel cut oats to increase my HDL's. I've cut down the red meat to decrease the LDLs. But yours are so close to being wnl. My doc wants mine under 70 due to my pre-diabetic state. If your fastings are always good, an A1C isn't needed. You can get that test -- if you want a baseline, but I doubt if it will be a problem. Did you get liver studies done and a microalbumin? Due to our Protein intake I asked for a BUN and Creatine and a Microalbumin. I just wanted to check on my kidney fnx. My ex eats Steel Cut oats every day of his life and his Tg are 40 and his LDL's are 50's. It's amazing because his other intake is not so good. Mal and Nic, thanks for saying such nice things about me! I think everyone was beautiful in that picture! I had such a good time that evening!
6. Hi Everyone, Drive by post here. I have been incredibly busy and may not be able to check in very often this week since I am traveling for work. Mini....My Halloween Challenge weigh in for last week was -2lbs. I haven't had a good week since then with eating so I'm not sure my results this week wont be sabotaged. Mal...good luck on your run. You will be awesome! Dee, Shelbi, any other BFL'ers. I haven't been doing great with the workouts and eating since I have been traveling. It's really hard to do this on the road. How are you guys doing? I had a really great NSV last saturday. I hiked four (4) 14ers on Saturday. It was a series of four 14,000 or above mountains (Democrat, Lincoln, Cameron and Bross Mountains) and it almost killed me, but I did it! I am really, really proud of myself. I cried on the way down because I was so happy. Bella, your fill is too tight girl. I also like the feeling of being a little tight, but I have to compensate by slowing my eating way down and figuring out how to get in all of the nutrition I need. You don't want to lose your hair, look sickly, or not have any energy, so you must get in your nutrients. Try a slight unfill and see how it goes. I read a few days worth of posts and you girls are obsessed with ice cream. I am too! When I am eating ice cream, it's the only time I feel like I did before lap band....it goes down so easy....so that's why I have to be very careful with it. Talk to you crazy folks later. Rene'
7. Hey Pretty Lady! Actually, I've been out and about and I saw you from your window! Al Fresco, huh? Nice day for it! One month out and I'm feeling pretty good! The lump is still there, but I think it's getting smaller, I'm hoping anyway. Dr. K ultrasounded it and it's just fluid. We decided not to drain it now and hopefully it will absorb. I measured myself and my waist has decreased from 58.5 to 54.0. The chest hasn't decreased at all! The Hips and thighs have gotten smaller too! I was thrilled! I'm back to not losing again. I went back to work and my ankles and feet are swollen from all of the standing! I cannot wait until I've lost enough weight that I don't have to endure that! It's going to be the best NSV I'll ever have!:cool2: I have now exercised everyday for almost 2 weeks! I'm up to 10.50 mins now and feeling pretty good about it! I make myself do it first thing in the morning and then an hour after dinner I go for another 10.5mins on my recumbent bike. I love that bike! It cost me an arm and two legs! Difficult to ride it now that I'm missing those limbs, but I was worth it! Well, I'm looking forward to Red Robins! Yeah!!! Thanks for keeping us on track with our monthly gatherings! Love ya, dee~
8. You know I've always been a one bone kind a gal too!!! One just One! You're good with the exercise, I'm good with the eating... let's just make one person out of us and we'll be successful! We could be the Sheldee~ That's great!!! I had the same thing today! I bought a pair of jeans from Old Navy online. It was during their big jean sale, $9.99 a pair. I got some really cute ones! BUT they are all huge on me!!! Yikes! Really huge! I can pull them off and on without unbuttoning them! Size 22! AND I started at size 32! Don't you love it! I can't believe you're wearing a 12! Mountain, hill, ant hill -- it's all an achievement! AND something to be proud of!! Congrats! that's a great NSV!
9. Lap -- Awesome pictures you look FABULOUS!!!! Keep up the great work. Ador -- WTG on you NSV that is awesome, to bad you aren't closer and couldn't get in on the clothing swap. Are you still feeling okay? Dee & Mini -- You ladies are too much, you had me in tears from laughing so hard at you. If my DH was home I would go upstairs and spank him just for you. I guess I'll do it when he gets home tomorrow. Dee -- I am down 4 pounds for the last 2 weeks. Sorry I didn't weight in last week but we were outta town and I have been busy all week. Went to a friends house for dinner tonight, it was fun. Didn't get stuck so that is always good. It's funny though how she kept trying to get me to eat more and drink more. She even made the comment "You used to be my fat friend" it really hurt that she couldn't be happy for me, I know she is just jealous because I am losing weight and finally feeling better about myself. It probalby doesn't help that her son and husband kept telling me I looked good. I had to buy a few new pairs of shorts because everything I have is about 2 sizes to big and falling off me. It seems like nothing in my closet is fitting right now, its all so big on me. Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend I am off to bed.
10. Silly Marcy! Yup! Mini and Me are still here! I'm still plugging along! I am on my last 100lbs! I know that sounds bad, but I had a lot to lose! I am scheduled for a TT and Arm Lift on Dec 2nd in Monterrey Mexico with Dr. Sauceda! He's an artist! I have seen and talked to so many of his former patients and everyone looks wonderful! For my tummy tuck (and I've lost 163lbs so I have a lot of excess skin) and my arm lift he is charging $8250.00 He'll have to go all around my body. I am a mess! He will also pay for my airfare and my hotel for 15 nights at the Hampton Inn. I'll stay in his surgicenter for 3 to 4 nights. That sounds absolutely horrible! I am so sorry to hear about your troubles! I hope an unfill can help! If I can help you out when you get here, let me know. I'll check my schedule. Congrats on the no meds! Wow! Isn't that a great NSV?
11. Amieru, congrats on all your fun NSV stuff. How great to be able to enjoy the rides, go to the cave, etc. I had Lasik done about 9 years ago and I totally agree with you. To be able to wake up in the morning and see the clock without groping for my glasses . . . to be able to go to a swimming pool and actually see who is next to me in the water . . . Congratulations! You'll love it. And how fun to have a free trip to look forward to for your bandiversary! YAY!!!
12. Anita~ that is so awesome!!! Way to go on the NSV!!!! Well ladies I started the Couch to 5K program today. I am siked! I did 1.2 miles today. Half walking, half jogging. I was pooped when I came home. lol :cheer2:To help really motivate myself, I registered for the Run Down Crime 5K they are holding in Tucson for the Tucson Police Association. :thumb: The run is in September so I have LOTS of time to get ready! This is my main exercise goal for the year. I MUST do this! No failing allowed. :biggrin1:
13. Jaime, First of all, please don't call yourself a failure. You're not. You have to realize that we all have a food addiction. An addiction, not unlike, drugs, alcohol or cigarettes. It's been our obsession for many years. Sometimes, it takes more than a Lap Band to get us on our road to recovery, There is a reason, we overate in the first place. Have you considered seeking therapy? For me, I was just so ready to do this. I had been diagnosed as a pre-diabetic, I had PCOS and I had just been diagnosed with arthritis. I was scared straight! Just like when I used to take my juvenile probation clients to the state pen, I was scared straight! So scared of becoming a full blown diabetic, and so afraid of ending up in a wheelchair from my arthritis, that I felt I had no other choice. I had to force myself to make huge changes in my life. The Lap Band was the tool that I needed. With that being said, I must confess, it wasn't easy. Like I said above, I am a food addict. I overate for over 20 years. Food was a big part of my life. It took the place of feeling loved, of feeling wanted and of feeling worth. I had to find my motivation to get on the Bandwagon and stay there. I learned many years ago that I do best with a very strict regimen. I can't fly by the seat of my pants. This is odd since I am the least type A personality - you'd ever meet. BUT when it comes to meeting goals, I have to make lists, I have to make plans and I have to be very strict with sticking to them. The same happened when I graduated from college with my triple degrees at the age of 19. I had to make studying my life. It had to become me. The same when I returned to school for my nursing degree. I had to eat, sleep and live my studies. I have done that with my Lap Band and my new lifestyle. It has encompassed every part of my being. EVERY part of my life is associated in some way to my new lifestyle. My advice to you - is don't give up! You just got a fill today! A time for a new beginning! The Lap Band is good at giving us new chances to start fresh! Sit down and make a list of reasons why you want to be successful. List everything you can think of! Your health, your happiness, smaller sizes, more attractive appearance, better sex, all the NSV's available with a new body. List them and post them somewhere you'll see them daily. Then return to the good ole Bander Rules. Portion control is a biggie if you don't feel you have restriction. Measure Measure Measure! Buy yourself some pretty little measuring cups, several different sets if you want, I have 4. Measure all of your food 1 cup to 1.5 cup per meal. Eat slow, take tiny bites and allow your pouch to stretch properly. Write on a paper when you've taken your last bite. Don't drink anything for an hour. Then drink your water, crystal light, tea or whatever you drink. Get your 8 glasses in - through out the day. IF you get hungry before your 4 hours, that's okay, focus on foods that will feed your body. Foods that will help you meet your protein goal of 60-80 grams a day. Nuts, cheese, a boiled egg, hummus, whatever you want in that area is a good snack. Eat your snack. That's okay, if you're hungry don't starve, but make good nutritious choices. Log onto www.fitday.com or www.dailyplate.com or anything other service that helps you track your intake. List everything that enters your mouth. Try to keep your fats down around 30-40% of your total calories, if you're consuming carbs, if not, than a higher fat % is okay. Start moving your body. Don't try something that is impossible. Start with 5 mins a day for 6 days a week. 5 mins, walk in place in the morning or afternoon take a 5 mins walk. Anything, but do it everyday. After meeting the 5 mins a day for 6 days, increase it to 10 mins. There are three components to working out - Frequency, Duration, Intensity. Get the Frequency down first, then increase the time and lastly, once you're on track with 6 days a week, 20 mins a day, then you can increase the intensity. Don't do it all at once. Give yourself time to form a habit. 3 weeks makes a habit. Jaime, I have faith in you. I remember meeting you the night before you were banded. You were excited, motivated and ready to start your new life. Don't lose sight of that excitement! But as you know, it takes work. I know you can do it. Be smart about it. Plan to be successful and you will. Believe you can do it and you will! Truly, you can do this! I know you can!
14. Hey Guys! Natalie from Dr. K's office wrote me and asked if we could add to her list of NSV's. I added mine and if everyone could just copy and paste the list and add more or they could make a list of their own. I think it's a great way to take note of all of our victories! Not just the ones on the scale.

You are going to college - that's great - DH & Kids ya I know what you mean - I don't have a dh anymore - which is totally fine with me - I feel that it's time for me I am sick of taking care of everyone else... My son is grown (and has had his struggles) and I have my 17 GS who lives with me - but knock wood he hasn't cause me any real headache.. Mentor - Well Alex (owner of LBT) started this new thread and I just happen to be the first to start the 1st thread within the thread (i think the 1st thread that was started by Alex will tell you what to do). So all you have to do is go above to lap band buddies / mentors (new) and start a new thread offering your help.
I am off to a great start today and I wanted to let you know. I am writing down what I eat, exercised, and feel a new motivation to start again. So thank u for your support. I would like to be a mentor, do you have to sign up in a program or just support those on this website? I have already been encouraging others and I really believe it is helping me. Have a great 4th! I know you are busy!!
Congratulations !!!! I am so happy for you !!! Yes once you get back in to the swing of things it will really re-motivate you and sometime a little competitiveness is a good thing - I challenge myself all the time. Since I am off today - I went to the gym this morning (I usually take Thurs/Fri/Sun off from the gym) I did 3.5 miles in 55 minutes without holding on and incline up to 10 at 3.5 mph - I was sweating like a pig but felt really good about my work out - came home got in the pool to cool off and realized I can't float any more - funny how something as silly as not being able to float can give you motivation... Just knowing that my body now has more muscle than fat is a great NSV and proof that all my exercise has been worth it - (with the saggy skin issues my muscles do show some but not as much if i didn't have all this loose skin - but who cares underneath there are muscle) Well off to the shower - gotta get errands done before it gets any hotter

I have been doing the couch to 5K training in preparation for a 5K run in May. It will be my first ever. I had a HUGH NSV this morning. I was able to run 0.3 miles before I had to take a walking break. It felt darn good. Julie – Doesn’t it feel great to travel alone and have everything go well? Such a confidence booster. Apples – It sounds like you are a wonderful organizer and because of your organizational skills, a good time was had by all. Phyl - Congrats on the new camera. I am a bit of a amateur photographer and love taking pictures. Have fun with your new toy. Jewel – Hope you are feeling better soon. My daughter is in nursing school too. Charlene – I am on day 5 of the Beck book. It seems to make sence to make new habits. I could use some work on the “give myself credit” part. Even when I achieve, I always says or think negative things. I put a post it on my car radio that simply says credit as my reminder. 1 day at a time - best of luck with the new job!

Good goin' on the cake, Linda. The band sure makes it easier to pass all that stuff up. It's not going to make food choices for us but just having it is a reminder of our new and healthy way of living. I hope and pray that it is with me (and works as well as it does) until I leave this world. Also, great NSV with the co-workers. Isn't it fun when people really start to notice???? VERY warm this week in MN also. Crops look good though with the rain we had over the weekend. Mornin' to the rest of the gang. Hope everyone is having a great day. Running around getting caught up so I can leave again in the morning. Have a bunch of GF's :wub:joining me for a few days. Floating rafts, foo foo drinks, movies, board and card games, etc. :smile2: Big celebration over the weekend in the little town close to our resort. Should be a fun filled weekend. Wish I could snap my fingers and all of you could join me. I am fun....honestly....I would make sure you all had plenty to do, drink and eat. Ohhhhh, maybe next weekend?

Hi Kids!!!!!! Happy Birthday, Long!!!....and...happy to have you back and to hear that you had a great trip. You stinker....not even a gain. Good for you! You are lucky with not getting tight when you fly. I attribute most of my 20lbs lost to flying. It seems to take me at least a week for things to be right again after I fly. It doesn't happen with every LB person but when it does it's like no hunger whatsoever. Never getting stuck, just not appitite. I have an NSV! Don't think I have ever posted one cuz just knew they came with weightloss. This one is a MIRACLE!!!! I have been doing a lot of weight lifting. Not too heavy...3lbs for arms. Well, my boobs started moving north and noticed over the weekend that they are sitting up there pretty good! Speaking of boobs....was at the lake since Wed. There was frost on the nipples every morning! COLD and WINDY each day except Sunday. Had fun though. Bunch of GF were up there and went out to a club, played cards, watched movies and cried, BBQ'd, etc. DH did not make it up again as he was still planting soybeans. Will be done about 4pm today. We are both going to head up again on Wed morning and stay till Tuesday morning. A bunch of HS graduation parties that we need to come back for on Sunday but will go back up after we hit them. Took me awhile to catch up with this thread. Haven't had time to look at any of my other ones. Sounds like everyone is doing quite well. Better get back to work so I can leave again! Hugs

Good Morning Peeps Yesterday gym - then home shower - then out the door again to get Andrew's kitchen table then a little Marshall's shopping - got home around 3:30ish - washings - dinner - tv bed.. Apples - Andrew is suppose to move in 11/1 - going to try and get keys so that he can move in on the weekend (11/1 monday) - I'm not nervous he can handle it - the only thing I worry about is the drive to and from cuz he drives too fast and don't want him getting any tickets - thats about the only thing that I am concern w/ Arlene - WTG on exercising even when you aren't feeling good - isn't that an NSV in it self ;0) Eva - back to work already :0) - I know a lot of telephone pple get job's right away - also those who got early retirement can also get unemployment - don't ask me how but they do.. Jessica WTG on the 5 K !!! Glad things are going well Chris - you will be in our prayers for a safe surgery and speedy recover.. Well gotta leave for work - hugs to all

Hello all. Real quick drive by post. I am so tired after this day at school I just need to take a shower and go to bed. Had Nutrition class and Medical Ethics class today. Was on campus from 1-7:30. Plus, the parking was horrendous so at least I got my exercise in. But, my NSV today was that I did not get tired when I climbed (quickly I might add) the 3 flights of stairs that in May had me exhausted! I was happy about that for sure. Did well on my eating today. So that was good too. Ok, I'm so sorry, but I am so tired that I feel like my eyes are crossing. Real quick though, Phyll.... You go girl!!!! Way to get out there and back into the swing of things! I give you a lot of credit. Super impressive. Oh man, you must have felt awesome getting out! Ok, more tomorrow, will comment on everyones then. It took me awhile to read all posts bc I had been reading all day long. I start my weight training sculpt and tone fitness class tomorrow, then Physics in the evening. Will be on campus 3-10, so I wont check in til later since I have to get all my stuff together for tomorrow. I get nervous driving downtown sometimes. Its only a 15 min drive, but I have to go through some sketchy neighborhoods on the way there and back. Makes me kinda nervous, so I get super stressed now that I have to go there 4 days per week. Ok, I thought this was going to be much shorter than this. It's already 12:30!!!! Night. Love. Meredith

Charlene .... WTG on your NSV !!!!! You have a band for a reason - go get a fill !!! Stay away from the starches and sugar period !!!! Muscle doesn't weigh more than fat - a pound is a pound - a pound of feathers is large in size than a pound of muscle - but its still a pound.. I takes a while to build muscles - so I am going to say that it's a weight gain and not that muscles weight more than fat - cuz again they don't.. If you are gaining you are eating more calories than you are burning.. Go get a fill - and be accountable with Sandy & Phyl and Great.. You can do this gf - just quit allowing yourself to make all the excuses you have been making about your eating... 3 days no sugar or starches - do a cleanse I hope to have my Peanut Butter when I get home - tonite Ya Great - feel so sorry for you with all your jet setting... Lucky Girl !!! .

OMG it's going to take all night to respond :0) Great by the time we need a retirement home - Your parents most likely won't be w/us :0) well don't know about that your GM is 100 so you got longivtiy in your blood ;0) Glad DD is better.. LOVE THE OUTFIT !!!! LOVE THOSE JEANS LauraK - That's a good feeling ;0) Have fun and enjoy !! Charlene - I thought you were on the train - why didn't you have a salad !!!! Girl - I'm on my way to TX ... I guess for me - I would rather not eat than eat at fast food place - I am just not a fast food person - never was.. Like when I drive up north or in the airport - I just don't eat (or I take popcorn w/me & jerky)... Well when Eva and I were in DFW we had ck salad but it was at a reg restaurant - but when you like have 1 hr between planes - I would rather just not eat - I will get some popcorn.. Yep you need jackets - Glad DS got home safe... I would worry to - White out - I couldn't imagine - well have had sand storms like that back in the day - now a days we are so built up we don't get them like we use too.. Chris Happy NYE... Oh so you married an older woman ;0) - Tell her we send Happy Bday wishes... Enjoy NYE remember make good food choice ;0) Linda - Chicago fine w/me - now we just gotta get dates that concide w/each other - I agree - That we didn't have time to visit w/everyone - but next time we can ;0) Tina - your Mom is most likely our age (50+) how's her skin - does she have wrinkles - how about your dad - that's where you can get an idea about your DNA - I agree w/Great - I lost 100 lbs in 11 months 1 week - (just found that post the other day) My doc said that I lost weight like a bypass person - but what's it really about is calories in vs calories out - that's all weight loss is - bypass pple don't have to learn to eat healthy - hell they will lose the weight due to the malabsorbtion issue - they don't have to work as hard in the beginning - but if they don't learn to eat healthy and change their diet they will put it back on cuz after about 2 yrs their intestine starts adapting and start re-absorbing calories again.. Yep Sandy - little things like cleaning house - walking up a flight of stairs - walking the mall - so much diff now adays Not working out tonite ;0) it's Thursday and it's against my religion to work out on Thursdays :0) - it's been my day off since I started exercising 3.5 yrs ago - OMG I have been exercising that long.... That's a 1st - a FANTASTIC NSV.... At 2:45 they send an email saying if our work is done we can go home at 3 - why didn't they say that 1st thing then maybe I wouldn't have goofed off in the morning LOL... My stuff was done - stayed till about 3:20 then went to post office to drop off QVC returns - then to Costco - OMG pple are pigs - they bring out food and pple rush to get it then just freaking stand there and eat it - they don't care that they are blocking the isle.. Saw a couple girls I know - Got lobster for tomorrow - asparagus - and Lemon Cooler cake - That's my new yrs treat.. will end up throwing it away - or maybe I'll freeze it and bring it out when the kids come at the end of Jan - but hell no they don't need it either.. Yep, quiet tonight. This is the first time I've done yoga in years. I don't do it well, but wow, it feels good. I am very stiff and yoga helps limber me up. I can't do all of the poses (back and knee issues) but I do what I can. Here's a NSV for me, I can actually sit on the floor and cross my legs. I couldn't do this three weeks ago. I can't stay in that position very long, but I can get there. YIPEE As little as I do exercising...I'm already noticing differences in how I feel. So I didn't eat all my sashimi today at lunch (and believe me, it's sooo much less than I used to eat) so I took it back to work with me and didn't get to it there. Now I'm having sashimi for dinner. Yummmm Prattling along here. Hope everyone has a good night. I'm debating whether to turn on the auto cad computer and work, but I'm might just read the diet book instead. later ladies Eva

Aww....nice to be missed, Long! Came home from lake this morning. Not sure if I will go back up on Wed or Thurs. Have a lot to do here at home this week and volunteer job all day tomorrow. NSV!!!!!!!! You know those tracks on patio doors????? I am cleaning those today and don't need help to get up from the floor. I can sit crossed-legged on the floor now and get up without using my arms. Pretty good for an old lady!!!!!!!!!

Done with Day 3 of 5DPT. Wine does have carbs, but the less sweet the wine the lower on the glycemic index. I've taken off 4 lbs as of this morning, so we'll see what I am tomorrow morning. I'd already lost a lb before starting the 5DPT. I mostly used Protein shakes and SF pudding and mousse the first two days. Half and half in my coffee. Today I had Protein shake, 2 small pork sausages, 4 small meatballs with a little 4cheese Pasta sauce. 1 Atkins Peanut Butter chocolate Protein Bar and Italian sausage in spaghetti sauce for supper. Felt band but didn't pb. Kids all over the school were trying to sell me candy bars today. The 4th-8th grade choir members (almost all the kids in those grades) are earning themselves a trip to Great America where they will also perform. Monday night I was at a meeting with brownies and choc. covered pretzels and other goodies. I took along my SF pudding and mousse. Tonight I was at a meeting after school that had frosted brownies, fresh baked choc chip Cookies, and pita chips with spinach dip. Just kept thinking about what I was planning for supper to keep my mind off of it. Probably eating almost 1000 calories a day, probably more today, but I have never kept track of calories. But I know I will continue to lose as long as I keep the carbs to a minimum. I'm feeling physical hunger, which I wasn't allowing myself to feel before, but I don't let that go on very long because physical hunger can lead to insatiable eating. I'd rather eat Protein more frequently and stave it off. So, 5 lbs off. 5 lbs to go. It was the physical pain and limitations combined with snow confinement that really got me gaining the past couple of weeks. Plus, as I gained weight, I couldn't eat as much solid protein because it made me pb as my band got tighter. So I turned more to sliders to feel full and like I'd eaten enough. So some denser protein the next 2 days along with softer Proteins. Such a relief to be able to eat enough meat in one sitting to feel satisfied. I've been hanging from my inversion table for longer periods of time and it is gradually stretching out my compressed and distressed spinal column and hip. Still have pain but I made myself do my stairwalk for 15 minutes yesterday and 30 minutes today. Have to keep the muscles strong to hold the spine and hip in place. Really tired by the end of the school day though. LadyK, try two or 3 days of Liquid Protein like I did and see if helps. One of the reasons I'm doing the 5DPT is to avoid ever having to go in for an unfill. I don't want to end up with all the reflux, pbing, hiccups, etc. that come from being too tight. I'd rather do whatever it takes to lose the weight before I get really bad. I must say, everyone's horror stories have really motivated me to get this 10 lbs off. I'd really like to see everyone post about what it was like for them before they got the band, why they got the band, and the improvements they've seen and the NSV's they've experienced since getting the band. One of my incentives for getting this 10 lbs off is that I don't want to have to buy a new, larger wardrobe--again. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt and had it framed. Those were old behaviors. Lose/gain, lose/gain, lose/gain. When I cleaned out my closet this time, it was with the determination to keep only one size it. I only have enough clothes to fit in that one closet. I have better things to do with my money than buy clothes that only fit for a while. I want to wear out my size 10 pants, not outgrow them. LOL.
