That is definitely one of the better NSV's I've heard. My mom uses a CPAP machine (when she's being scolded into it), and she HATES it. I can only imagine what a relief that must be!! Congrats, you!!!!

NSV is Non-Scale Victory. Sorry I can't help with the photo question, I am still at the before stages.

I'm having trouble finding before and after photos of people who've lost weight with surgery - on this site. When I look at the gallery, only some of the posts have before/after. I have to open each one just to find out if they even have both pictures. Is there a better way to find these that I haven't figured out, yet? Also, what does NSV stand for? Thanks!

I belive my sleeve has saved my life. In late December, both my primary care physician and I noticed a lump in my left breast. Had a mammogram, was recalled for additonal photos and had both an ultrasound and biopsy that day, and result is I have breast cancer. Fortunately, it's treatable and I will have surgery to remove the lump probably at the end of the month, followed by radiation. I am working hard to get my BMI below the obese stage, as obesity compromises survival rates in women with estorgen-postivive, HER2 negative cancers, which is what I have. So, here's another positive result from my sleeve and the weight loss!! I'm off to kick cancer's ass...pardon my French! Fit

Wahoooo!!! Total NSV today!!! I went shopping at Target and they had some cute pink workout jackets I'd been wanting on clearance. Well, they only had XXL, XL, M, S, XS left. None in L - so I tried on the Medium totally expecting to be let down but it fit!!! OMG... I can't lie it looks really cute on me too - showing off the cute figure I'm working so hard for. I'm elated!!! :-)

I have also noticed a little tenderness when I do Zumba. I found that if i put on a spandex sleeveless body shirt it helps. I picked it up from kohls for less the 15 bucks. Helps keep that extra skin in also. But I will tell you make sure you get the cotton blend one. The one that is all spandex is way to hot. Good luck and congrats on NSV.

I felt so good yesterday. I recently got new scrubs at work, because my old ones were to large, I may have been able to get them a little sooner, but did not. But yesterday one of my coworkers said to me, "When are you going to get new scrubs, they are falling off you?" I was I just got new scrubs the smaller one's will not fit me. It just makes me feel good. My weight loss is slow right now, but I am going to the gym and as well as doing cardio, I am doing the weight machines, so I am losing inches. Not sure how much, because I try to measure and I never seem to get it right. There are only 3 people at work who know that I had surgery, so whenever someone else notices it makes me happy. I got banded on 12/20 so it was my 2011 resolution to have no failure. Also just wondering today at the gym when I was doing crunch type things on one of the machines, I felt my port hurting a little. First time that has happened and I've done it multiple times. Anyone know why that may be. Also if anyone knows on my left side (port is in the middle and higher) when I dance/jump and my hangy fat bounces it kind of hurts. I have always post surgery had more irritation in that area, not sure why.

I'm so excited, I just had to share! I went to a professional basketball game with the hubby and kids the other night and fit in the seat with no problems!! I actually had room on either side of me!! No holding my breath the whole game, no sitting up on the seat so my shoulders wouldn't hit the person next to me...I was able to sit back, relax and totally enjoy myself without having the seat parts jammed into my body. It was delightful!!

Going to Australia - NSV
Oopsseedaisy replied to mellifrits's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That NSV was fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun down under with a 2 piece. I will dream tonight about matching my skinny friends size, but a 2 piece is beyond even my dreams. -
Yesterday I bumped into a friend who I haven't seen since before surgery when I was at my heaviest. WWhen she saw me she looked at me in disbelief and said "Where's the rest of you??!!" She said i look fantastic and I could tell that she was genuinely happy with me!!

On Thursday I'm flying to Brisbane Australia! It has been on my bucket list for a long time but now it is a dream come true. I don't have any summer clothes since i have just been buying winter/fall clothes after hitting goal last month. So here is my NSV moment.. You know that friend you have that the idea of even wishing to be as thin as them is a mean joke to play on youself?? Well she offered to let me use some of her clothes on my trip. I laughed at the idea and told her she was crazy!! There is no way I can get my butt into her skinny ass clothes!!! Well guess what!?!?? I am borrowing some of her clothing for my trip!!! I almost cried when I put on a pair of her shorts an they fit. I still don't see myself as a size four but some how putting on her clothing made it more real to me. I honestly have a problem of seeing myself as big now that Im thin but when i was big i ddnt think i was as big as i was. Now any time I think I need to lose more weight I just remind myself I'm the same size as my tinny friend. Also I got a two piece swim suit to wear to the beach. Im still a little unsure about wearing it since my scars are only six months old but Im just going to face my fears head on. I have a new body and I'm not going to hide anymore! It is time to live my live!! You can't win if you never play the game!

Am i the first to fail the sleeve surgery??
M2G replied to vicki s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Vickie, I see your ticker has moved since you posted this. (If I am reading that right!) Woo hoo! Does your surgeon have a NUT that you can contact? Maybe email everything to him/her and have a professional look at what is going in. I personally think that -20lbs is awesome, and I know how hard it is to do, but you cannot compare yourself to others on here. It is one of the worst ways to sabatoge yourself by saying "look how far XYZ is and yet I'm HERE." DON'T do it!!! How do YOU feel? Are your clothes looser? It sounds like you are focusing on all the right things, and sometimes that is the hardest part to keep doing the same thing every day and KNOW that you are doing everything "by the book" yet not get that reward on the scale. That is why those NSV's are SO important. The scale doesn't tell the whole story. I think it might be premature to call your sleeve (or yourself for that matter) a failure. Really. Hang in there Vicki! We are all here for you! -
There is no NSV that is too small! These experiences are what keeps us going and lets us know that we are changing even when we can't see those changes it also allows us to laugh at the funny things. Congrats on utilizing the treadmill and gaining better balance!
-
I can now walk on the treadmill without holding onto the handbars. This may sound small (and it really is), but it makes me feel like I am getting better at balance and also decreasing my fears that I will fall or trip. Next step is to increase incline. I am ulp to 1.0 incline, but it is kicking my butt.
