Tonight I decided to kick off my weekend with a good closet clean out (it's such an exciting life I lead :-). My closet has shrunk so much since I started losing weight, all my clothes actually fit into one closet. I decided I would try on everything in there and came to a size 10 dress I ordered on clearance last month. IT ZIPPED all the way up!!!! I couldn't believe it. I am ecstatic! SIZE 10. Full disclosure: it is tight and my bulges show, but it feels comfortable. Also, the size 10 shirt I ordered is still too tight to wear, but I know I'll get there some day. I posted a picture in my album, but I'll have my husband take some full body shots later this weekend once I'm in all my under armor gear.

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?
Texgirly replied to coltonwade's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Stranger - glad you are feeling better and super glad you logged fewer lbs! Welcome ting - your found a great thread. These guys have funny stories, and offer great support and inspiration! I seem to be playing tag with this silly cold, I had to skip yesterday's gym trip and I am sitting out today for rest. I may try tomorrow depending on how today goes. I had a cool NSV of sorts yesterday. I visited my PCP for a re-up on my cholesterol meds and something for this cough. Our Ins is a PPO, so he doesn't know a thing about my banding adventure. So, I finally told him about it. For some history, I know him - he is not just my doc. His wife helped found our local Habitat, she still helps me with fund raising, and I have worked with their daughter on a HFH project. Let's just say I was nervous. He was positively giddy! Can't wait to observe the whole process. Wanted to know why I chose LB over GBS. Apparently, I will be his first patient to go the LB route. And here I thought he was going to give me some big "don't do it" speech. That was a big relief. -
Thanks Tom oh and I remember the offer :rose: he he Also congrats on your NSV!

Hey guys - I wanted to post an update to this thread. Another NSV for me. The deadlift is a damned hard exercise for several reasons. First off, you are lifting dead weight off the floor. Secondly form is so incredibly important in order to avoid injury. That is paramount to me since my entire weight issue started with an injury. Well I am happy to say that today I set a personal best deadlift record; 185lbs! Back feels good as do my knees. Sure my legs are tired, but there is no pain. I am roughly 25lbs from my deadlift goal of my body weight. I should totally be able to accomplish that by my year two anniversary. Hopefully my pull-up will fall into line soon too!

MelBanded replied to MarcyLoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How private is this facebook group? There are certain people I really do NOT want to know about this surgery. I really need some support though. Surgery 03/31/2011 since surgery lost 25 pds and really frustrated. Besides what the heck does NSV stand for??? -
November 2010 Bandsters - post op
gotmyeyeontheprize replied to DebWS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Greetings fellow November bandsters! I was banded on November 22nd and am teeter-tottering between 75-77 lbs. lost. My first fill was on January 7th and my second one is scheduled for this Friday. Unfortunately, I'm in desperate need of fill as I can eat almost anything I want to in any amount. Right now, it is back to the early stage will power....ugh! I've started a hard core exercise program that reminds me of what they do on The Biggest Loser. This is my thrid week with that and I have gained 2 lbs. I'm contributing that to either muscle or my need for a fill! I plan to get back on track Friday. NSV include: Being able to bend over and tie my shoe; Going down 3 sizes in clothes; Walking without being completely out of breath; Blood pressure meds gone; Saving money at restaraunts by sharing a meal or eating off the kids menu; Positive self esteem! Would I have Lap Band surgery again? ABSOLUTELY!!! -
Ay-yi-yi.........just looked at the 401K....makes my stomach sick! Good thing we don't have everything wrapped up there. Denise, I fainted once when I was pregnant! I had gone by where my ex husband worked, and we had walked behind the counter (parts dept.) and down an aisle, to talk $$$. I started seeing black dots, and woke up to every counterman in the store standing over me! Never happened again.....no idea why it did then! I had just come from lunch---which is why we were arguing money! I had spent some!!! OMG! LOL Anyway, the pregnancy advanced just fine, no other serious issues, I did end up with a tooth that give me crap the entire pregnancy, and ended up with a root canal when she was like 9 days old! Baby was fine though! Dang near 9 lbs! Hope your DD is feeling better, and that all goes well!!! Hugs! Tracy, hope Macy is feeling better tonight---how are YOU feeling? Do you think you have what she does, or are you simply exhausted? Keep us updated, you are such a good Mommy! Yes Terry you can come over and play under the tent with Kinsey and I! Yes---I sat under the table and played!!! I had to! I am the only one of us who can read she told me! Was fun, and was also a huge NSV for me. Crawling! I fit under there, and I was able to manuever around. I can't describe it, it was just fun----I loved being able to play with her under there, and not have to decline for lack of being able. Was a shame to hear about Heath Ledger. I have not heard what they suspect COD to be. Guess I will check my email and call it a night! See y'all in the morning! Hugs~~ Kat

Thanks for sharing. And glad to have you back. I've kicked up the exercise and good eating habits too. Only 92 days til the Bandiversary Bash.. woooo hooooooo!

Hi girls~ Remember I spent 2 hours breaking ice yesterday? Woke up this morning to another 3 inches of snow, and it is still coming down...I am with Hayde--------I WANT SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!! I am out of clothes to pick from in my own closet as far as smaller sizes go. Of course right now it does not matter I am seriously stuck sitting here, I have not lost good in months. My Dr. told me I wouldn't when he found the problem, he explained all the mysterious ways a thyroid works, and metabolism is the biggest of them. I have no natural hormone to trigger my metabolism. My blood work supported that---so I am now back on low dose hormone replacement for it. He said we will take 3-6 months to work back to a therapuetic level of hormone. I don't know if I can do another surgery until it is level or not without totally disrupting my system. I really would like to see about having my TT or at the very least a pannectomy or whatever where they just remove the skin--I seriously look deformed. I tried on swimming suits---mistake, big huge mistake! To get a standard leg---I have no butt left, and my thighs are not pretty, but also not huge, so instead, my belly skin holds the leg opening----open!!! The skin tries to go down through it. Totally gross I know---sorry, just emphasizing, this is not a look in the mirror and feeling bummed day--it is seriously deforming! I have to wear the boy cut to keep it closed...and then I have this huge bubble of skin and residual fat---that the Dr, said is unlikely to diet off, since it is not muscle supported, and the muscle is what burns that off. So fine already--CUT IT OFF! Oh well----one of these days it will be gone, and I will be thrilled! My DD just called, her BF took her and my friend Becky to work, in his big truck, 4WD, dually- and big enough to handle anyone who got stupid and ended up hitting them. They got there, and now the road between us has been closed..... Terry, the judges chambers are fine by me---if you think it is a better choice, then secure it! I will be ready when you need it to send off the $$$. I will put this in the right thread too---just doubling the odds of you catching it quickly! Rick told me the other night of a big NSV I have---that I had not taken the time or realized til then. He said he thought I had quit moving at night! But realized I was rolling over without him even knowing it. Rolling over used to take lifting and shifting, and then moving back to where I wanted to be--it was not something I noticed, but it apparently jiggled the bed pretty good!!! When he said that, I noticed he is right, now I just flip and it is done!!! I want new clothes NSV's tho------and all the clothes they are putting out I want are summer clothes and it is up to about 6 inches out there now!!!! Well....time to go get something else to drink--and find something to eat----my stomach feels really acidy. Tracy Monday sounds like the best plan to me for you and Macy both--feel better soon! BBL~~ Kat

Okay, BIG NSV and on a Fast day! Have you ever fed 50 people big, fat meatball laden with sauce and Parmesan cheese on an empty stomach? Well, I HAVE, lol. My month to feed the homeless shelter for my life group and luckily, didn't have time to even sniff them! And we ran out so there were no leftovers! (All got fed- seconds were given out). Yaay, to me! Now, where is my Lean Cuisine? And then I still have about another 150 left over to eat in a hurry since it is 7pm!

Holy freaking cow, people! I'm gone for a few days over the holiday and I come back and have to read sooooo many posts! I missed y'all! Doing okay - the holidays got me a bit - gained a few pounds, but I'm scheduled for my first fill tomorrow, so I'm hoping for big things. NSV's - smaller jeans, swing dancing with hubby and no I'm-so-out-of-breath-I'm-going-to-die feeling, and hit a couple of personal bests at the gym during my time off. Back to work after a 10-day holiday recess (bless my employer) and having a tough time concentrating... Nice to see everyone - Happy New Year! -
Yay Tap for getting some sleep! Congrats G4E on the NSV! That is great! Morning everyone!

I consider that a HUGE NSV (no pun intended)! I'd LOVE to buy non-plus undies. Waiting for the day they are minus undies. -
slim, that is a HUGE nsv! when DH got off his BP meds and no longer needed his CPAP was a great victory for him. sometimes we rely too much on the scale for success....much congrats!

Congrats, Pix, that is an awesome NSV! Froggi, I can't keep the big @** toads out of my pool! Do you want them too?

Gird yer loins, I'm BAAACK! Drove home from the folks' yesterday and was gone eight days total. There was no way I was going to be able to keep up with this thread so I just plain didn't. I'm not sure what I missed, so I'll just sum it up: Congrats I'm sorry to hear it Hope you feel better Glad you feel better WOOT WOOT!! I hope things turn around for you/yours That's a FANTASTIC NSV!! Happy birthday! Okay, don't know what else I may have missed, but it's the best I can do right now. The one thing I was looking for I think I found: Ebony thinks she may hear something this week on the job front! Did anything come of the last "problem" that happened with the bad info you got from the BB that the supervisor got so mad about? :crying: For those who haven't seen on FB, hubby is having surgery tomorrow on his neck. Apparently two bulging disks have been causing his neck pain for so many years. He's having it done somewhat quickly because his work contract expires on 9/25 and we don't know if he'll have a job a month from now. :crying::crying: I'm still moving forward on the school front but don't feel as comfortable about it now. To boot, we're still not for sure what's happening with my dad. He had a doctor's appointment while I was there, but it was some auditory-type doc who my dad felt was only concerned with selling him a hearing aid. Um, not really an issue right now. Anyway, hope to jump into the conversation again and keep up. -
PJTP: So, my friend comes over this morning to ride my horse for me, yippy! He hasn't been ridden (the horse) in about 3 years and I didn't feel like getting on and getting hurt!! So i get him ready, Vaughn rides him for 20-30 minutes, trots, lopes and does everything pretty well for a 3 year break. So time for me to climb on (NSV - I climbed on without a stool, have not done that in about 15 years!) start riding, having fun, start loping - damn horse puts his head down and starts bucking! :ohmy:Lose my balance and hit the ground hard. Roll over on my back and start laughing because I can't believe that just happened! Finally get my old ass up off the ground and climb on and finish my ride. What are the odds of that! My left shoulder is killing me, my right hip is sore, I spurred my left leg with my right spur, I have a bruise on my right thigh from catching the horn on the way off and somehow I have a cut and bruise on my nose! Go figure. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Hi Ebony The suit looks beautiful...I'm sure you will be too when wearing it! Andcongrats on the NSV! Glad to hear you are keeping your worklife together - and relegated to its proper spot -- it's just work; it isn't my life; etc.

Well, I did it. I consumed an entire Taco Bell Naco Grande platter. By.My.Fucking.Self. No, I did not need it. No I did not need it. No I did not need it. Although, before banding I would of consumed mine plus hubbys and then some of DD and then maybe some tacos on top of that....with mexi fries and a huge ass drink. So, I guess I am still up and up from before banding. One NSV I had the other day at grocery store. I ran into an old friend and haven't seen her in about a year. She says, "looks like you lost some weight".....hell, I was happy that someone noticed.... I could of kissed her...on the mouth....with some tongue....(just kidding, just had to throw that in for you J!!, and the guys)

NSV today! I did a 2 mile fun run on base today and finished it! There were not a whole lot of people behind me but there were some and s few of them were active duty service members! They had a free slurpee truck and I actually had the small one after the run and it tasted so good!
