  1. Ack! My internet provider is being really crappy lately... very spotty service... on one sec... off the next... I wrote a post about my MAJOR NSV today... but it vanished... here it is again... So my gf & I were in a coffee shop this morning waiting for our lattes & there was this guy there & we started talking about the lids & joking around, etc... and then our coffees come & my gf & I go sit at a table, and she says to me, "That guy was totally flirting with you!" & I'm like "Huh?" because I have not been flirted with in more than 20 years, so she re-runs the scene and -- OMG! -- She's Right! He was flirting with ME!! I was wearing what I think of as my sexy "Laura" outfit -- the low-cut top that make my boobs look BIG (my gf said she thinks of it as the "St. Pauli Girl"'s top -- ha ha!) & my new cool jeans... PLUS I'm not wearing my wedding rings because they fall off now... I was stunned & thrilled all at the same time! What an ego boost! I liked it!!!

Pammie - what a great NSV - fitting in the seat so comfy cozy LOL Tina - My hair is just up -not shorter - the gal on the far right is Bobbie - she's Angel's Aunt. So what was this you were saying about Robin deciding when you get a fill? Is this something new? I hope not because I opted out on the Robin Visits - I was told that I don't HAVE to see her so I chose not to. Maybe I should make the appt after all.

Good morning, all you Shrink'n Violets!!! It's a new day, a new week and a new adventure, 1 pound at a time!! Sara.. so sorry to hear about Dave. You and he are in my thoughts and prayers. Pamela.. your closet looks awesome!! Thanks for sharing all the pics!! Kat.. I'm still in awe of the 100#!!! I hope to be able to say that someday. TracyK....isn't it great to know that the weight gain is not permanent anymore??? I just love the fact that this is not going to be yet another yo-yo attempt at dieting. This is the real thing and that little band will help US achieve our goal!! Theresa... woooo hooooo on the ring. It's all those little NSV's that keep us going!! Today I'm going to wear a pair of capri's that are a size 14/16W and I had set aside for when we go to Disney on the 21st of August. They didn't fit when I bought them a couple of weeks ago and now, here I am wearing them!!! Time to get dressed and head on down for our fill. Everyone have a great day and remember... WWJD??!!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Ethan is napping, the dogs are at the groomers and I have a few minutes to catch up in here. Went to the new store opening today. I picked out a couple of sweaters, but put them back cause Ethan was getting fussy and I didn't want to wait in the longggggggggg line to check out. I'll wait until I have some time without Ethan so I can take my time and enjoy shopping. I had a NSV today. Took my glitzy ring in to have them remove the diamonds to put in the new ring and a pendant. They wanted to know if the size was right on my old ring and I said it spun around a lot. They sized my finger and it's a 4.5!!! Same size as when I got married 38 years ago!!!!! We've had snow showers on and off all day so I guess winter won't be too far off. I still have tons of leaves to rake in the front yard, but it's too windy and wet today. Got to have a day where we can rake AND burn. Terry... ditto on what Michelle said. Take care of you and the weight will come off when you can focus on it more. There are more important things for you to consider right now. Just make sure you get your protein in during the day. Going to go relax on the couch a bit before we have to go pick up the dogs. We're going out to dinner at some friend's house tonight. Hope it's something I can eat!! Patience, Trust and WWJD??!!

Haydee, I am the same way! When I went in for surgery the only thing that really even bothered me was the shot in my tummy..... aHHHHH that freaked me out. The IV was a bit of a pain, but since I have had many IV's I knew what to expect. So I am worried about my fill tomorrow as well. I think I am going to take some of my liquid vicoden before I head to the Dr.s. You all are so funny. I am having a rotten day and then I read these posts and just started laughing! OMG this is so funny! "So this morning I got to work early and I decided I'm going to do some of that ab work where you get on all fours." That is something that would happen to me! Judy, Tell DH good job!! Also great job on your NSV. Everyone with fills this past week how are you feeling? Are you losing yet? (please please give me hope!) Are you still on liquids or able to eat?

HELLO violets! WELCOME.. Big as Life! Areellady! RvingDi!! I will go add you all to the main list WAAAAAAAAAY back on page one! I am so grateful for this band....... I am already getting into some of my old clothes... and todays NSV was that some of my underwear fit me again! I am sooooooooooo close to retiring the uber big granny panties that i've been wearing as of late.............. I am full after 1/2 of a bunless burger and KNOCK ON WOOD I feel totally fine. I have to go ice a birthday cake... but I'll add everyone before I go!
  7. Hey Violets~ Just a quick post. I made it through the last few days of posts...can't remember anything. Judy and Terri~ Love Love Love the new pix. You both look happy. TracyK~ BB...oooo man...I am such a fan. It is my summer guilty pleasure (has been for 8 years). I pay for the live feeds and I also Tivo the showtime stuff. We disagree on Dick wad but it is cool to meet another fan!!! There is a thread on BB I think in the Lounge (near the Rants and Raves). Congrats on all the NSV...the new panties...the smaller sizes...shit, you guys are dissappearing before our puters (eyes). I hope you still associate w/ us slower losers when you reach goal. My goal is 180, a few of you are already there. Congrats again...xoxo Gotta run...be back later! Sara, it is soooo nice to see you regularly again. Your pix are beautiful. xoxoxoxo

Hey Laura!! Great to hear from you. Sounds like things are hectic there, but you seem to be getting things under control. Our big wedding here is over and it went very smoothly. I'm sure yours will too. Can't wait to see pics of your new house with the furniture in and pics of the wedding too!! I had a NSV today!! I work as a volunteer at the hospital here. I put together the patient education packets that they hand out to the patients. I was at the copy machine doing my thing and one of the ladies walked by and stopped and said.. WOW.. you've lost weight.. a LOT of weight! I said yup.. bout 40# so far. She said.. "and you're doing.....???" So I said.. I had a lapband put in.. both Bob and I did (she knows Bob but hasn't seen him since his was put in). She said that was great. Next thing I know, my supervisor comes out and said she overheard that I had a lapband.. then wanted to know all about it. I did a mini-seminar right then and there. She in no way needs a lapband, but it was still neat to be able to talk about it and be proud that I had gone through it. Sooooooo I'm feeling good today in my new 16W pants, down from 22/24, and my 1X top down from a tight 3X. I'm going to go have some lunch and then hit the pool! Everyone have a great day!!!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

OH OH OH!! And I had an NSV today at lunch! Was trying on some new clothes (everything is BIG in my closet!!!) and instinctively went for the 16W's, which is the next size down for me. They were all too big! Guess what?? 14W's are just right!! That's a drop of 2 sizes so far!! Almost into the regular womens sizes!...maybe another 10#. Now THAT is gonna be one helluva day.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Oh what a wonderful NSV day today! DH took me shopping for some makeup that I needed and we're walking along and he says, "We need to go get you some new jeans--those are too baggy!" I just bought these one month ago and they were just a wee bit snug. So we head to the REGULAR misses department (WOO FREAKING HOO!!!!!) and bought the 1st pair of jeans I tried on.... Lauren 16's and they fit so beautifully! Oh, and let me add that these are NOT stretch jeans!! So then we go to swimsuits...'cause they're all on sale and I need one for the gym and one for Vegas. 16's were too big so I was trying on 14's! OMG!! A 14!! Well, I told him I had at least one or two size 14's at home so I didn't need to buy one. I'll dig thru that dusty drawer tomorrow and see what I have. Somebody pinch me. Oh, by the way...that spinning class this morning absolutely kicked my butt and I will NOT be going back! I left after about 1/2 hour...my heart rate was WAY too high and my sciatic nerve was acting up (still is). Jeez!!! I coudn't get out of there fast enough. So I went swimming then to the sauna. It was 180 in there today! Whew!!! Felt great. Anyway, I'm now convinced that the scale is not accurately reflecting my progress. And apparently neither is the tape measure. But my clothes are! LIFE IS SOOOOOOOO GOOD!!! PAMELA - I am SO glad you're back!!! I missed you terribly! Not surprised that you're missing the gym. What did you do for exercise while you were gone? Wait, nevermind.... you had DP with you. 'nuf said. Josie - I can do either of those days. What location is convenient for you? TracyK -- wanna meet up with us? Schexy?? Haydee? Kat - I'll bet you a hundred bucks that if you send them a check for $0.00 they'll deposit it. That's how bright those folks sound! DUH! I think you should do it....with a note, "NOW am I paid in full??"

Thanks Laura! Oh man ... your cakes sound delicious.... and since I've just had soup for the last 24 hours I would DEFINATELY consider your post FOOD PORN! LOL Get those NSV jeans out and try them on and then I WANT A PIC Missy and Lisa: I am going to TRY and make it to the September Bandwagon.. we will be in Branson for the August one.. maybe I'll see you all there???? Where is Terry???? I WORKED OUT TODAY and I WANT HER TO KNOW IT! Pam: It's getting closer to Thursday and the Cape! and BTW .. where IS THE PIC OF YOU COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET!!!!! Set the self timer and make a goofy face (I do it all the time) :scales: Last night I was doing my weekly NSV jean try on session and since I'm in most my size 16W I decided to try the 14W's and here is the NSV.. I got them up over my butt!!!!!!! woooohooooo! but there was no amount of sucking and stuffing that would make them button over my gut!..... NOW THAT would be a progress picture!!!!!!!!!!! because ladies I am making a goal that I WILL be in them by my birthday 10/04 even if I have to have the superpowered spankx and a crane to get them zipped!
  15. LMAO Terry~ The only day I "exercised" w/ DP was on my birthday! Other than that, I had no exercise the past 2 weeks. We did walk around in Vegas, but not as much as most people do, due to her feet swelling. So, I am really excited to get back into my routine. Plus a fill will help...I mowed 3 pieces of pizza w/ ease tonight!!! Anyway, thanks for the literal laugh out loud! You crack me up. Oh and by the way, CONGRATS on your NSV. The day I shop in REGULAR CLOTHES I will cry tears of joy! I am so proud of you. And w/ the ups and downs of the last few months...IT IS THE GYM THAT IS MAKING IT HAPPEN. I know many people have different thoughts, but in my opinion it is the gym baby...We love our gym nazi!!!
  16. Laura – it might be better to wait and take the classes next time – just being married, recently being banded and going for follow-up’s and adjusting lifestyle, new house and yard. You might get overwhelmed – I know I have that tendency. Congrat’s on NSV – also don’t forget you have to make time to shop for new clothes!!! Judy – busy busy busy Judy – have fun! We are going to miss you daily postings – but you have taught us well –WWJD! Sara – so sorry to hear about your dh. I will say many prayers for him. Sounds like you have a very warm and loving family. Adorable – they are the first to go for me– I was adequate previously, now (I don’t want to say it – I am in denial)… Jennifur – how rude of your guy friend! Must be the reason he is available. At leaset you found out from the getgo and not 3-6 months into the relationship. Wonderful job on completing the exercise challenge. Kat – I definetly will try my bacon that way! Thanks. Michelle – calorieking.com is a new one to me – I will check them out. Sounds like you are doing wonderful! You should post a picture of your artwork here for us to see. Laura – I get very frustrated with people who don’t do what they said they will do. Sounds like the lady at the doc office just doesn’t like confrontation – she was back peddling big time. My doctor does all fills under floura (sp?) on the same day of the week –each week (thurs) so he can be more aggressive, verify the band placement and takes less time in the end. I like it that way. Kat – better yet - I think you nailed it on the head – lazy & ditzy! Storms are almost here – have a great evening everyone! Gina
  17. Congrats MsJen!! That is awesome! Judy-what a great NSV...that is so cool! I am happy fo you! TracyKS-My prayers will be with you tomorrow...and you look GREAT! Pamela-that lemon chicken soounds yummy, I will try that for sure! Michelle-have a great time at the lake! RELAX! Jennifur-wine....oh how I wish I had a bottle here now. But, I ues it is a good thing I don't. Laura-sorry that you are so tight! funny how junk food always just glides down with no problem, isn't it? Kat-when is your biopsy? Haydee-Sounds like you had a fun weekend!! You are right, we did have a beautiful weekend! I am so ready for some cooler weather!! I go to my pcp in the morning to see if maybe he can explain my high cholesterol & triglycerides to me and tell me what I need to do!! Everyone have a great evening & take care!

I found out the other day I can get an AA in Liberal Arts if I take 3 more classes. 3 specific ones I need. The college is in New Mexico, so I called and they told me I can do distance learning for those classes. Sounds good, right? So I log in today (registration day) and go to sign up.. they're all full! BAH HUM BUG!!!!!!! I've been hitting 'retry' and re-logging in every 15 minutes (that's when it boots you) waiting to see one damn person drop each of these classes. I don't need the AA, but hell if it only costs 600 bucks to get it, it'll look better on my resume, in case CD's and DVD's become obsolete (which is what it feels like we're getting to). I'm at work and I have major upset stomache.. dunno why.. it hurts, I feel like I got diarhea, but my body will not let me go in public, so it's going to be a loooong day. I did quote a big job coming in soon though, for Nokia (or Nikon) I always get those confused, cameras. Oh my poor stomache. Sounds like everyone's doing good.. love the pic of you ladies together, wish 3 of ya'll lived here so we could do that!! When I came into work this morning, my mom and an accountant were outside smoking and my mom said "Someone looks skinny today" and the accountant said "Someone sure does!". I'm wearing my Cirque du Soleil shirt-- which was an NSV I don't know if I mentioned. We saw the Beatles LOVE Cirque while in Vegas (awesome, awesome).. and I refuse to wear men's t-shirts.. I don't like the unflattering-ness of big baggy tees. But of course in most the world 'women tees' are for the anorexic. So in the junior/womens tees, I can only get them if they run 4-5x. They only had up to 2x.. so I got one I liked in 2x, which is like a damn medium in my brain.. for 'when I lose the weight'. It ends up I can wear it! It is fitted, but not bad fitted where I'm stretching it or looks bad. So, I'm wearing that and some black bell bottoms.. and it makes me look skinny. SCORE! Oh god my tummy..

OK.. TRACYK.. read my lips... YOU GOTTA TELL US WHEN YOU LOSE WEIGHT... We're here to not only commiserate when we do something we know we shouldn't, but also to CELEBRATE when we do good things and you are doing GOOD things!!! So let us in on the celebration too, k??? That goes for all the Violet Sistahs!!! And CONGRATS on the 2.5#!!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2: Pamela.. take care of yourself and get better soon!!! Kat.. great pics!! We should all post some pics of us now so we don't have to squint at the Avatars to figure out what each of us looks like!! Laura.. I can relate to what you said. Yesterday I had a chicken salad wrap from Culvers and as I was chewing a bite in my mouth I could feel the previous mouthful getting stuck. So what do I do??? Spit out what I'm chewing?? And waste all that good food?? Heck no.. just swallow it and then walk around like a crazy woman trying to get the sucker to go down. I went to the bathroom so I could flap my arms and it eventually slid down, but dang.. old habits like eating too fast and taking big bites are sure hard to break!! I did have lots of NSV's at church today. I had LOTS of people comment on how much weight I've lost. Lots were asking what I was doing so I got to tell the lap band story. I'm getting quite good at it, actually. It starts out with... "in the beginning God created me and I got fat"... and ends up with..... "and then God created the lap band and said.. it is good". :biggrin1: When I turned on my cell phone a little bit ago (I had turned it off for the concerts and forgot to turn it back on), I had a voice mail from someone saying they heard I had lapband surgery and would I be willing to talk to them about it. Willing???? Heck, I need to write a book!!! I LOVE telling the lapband story. Jennifur.. so glad your burn is better. You're lucky you got it taken care of before it got out of control. And you keep that good attitude about yourself. YOU and your kids are what matters and that jerk.. 'scuse me..... needs to own up to his obligations!!! Ms. Jen.... you have a great attitude now.. keep building on that!!! We all need to take lessons from you! Michelle.. I've been there, done that with redoing the whole house before company comes. Don't wear yourself out to the point of getting exhausted!! You want to be able to enjoy your company while they're there, ya know! Terry... I fill up two DejaVue bottles with Crystal light each morning. I know when I have drunk them both I have had 66 oz. of water. I put one in the freezer before breakfast and one before lunch. That way I can take them out an hour later and they are pretty slushy.. just the way I love them. I have never, ever drunk this much water in my life!!! Thank goodness for Crystal Light. I'm going to go and wait for Bob to get home from his church. Then we'll have to figure out lunch. And then it will be time for a nice longgggggggggggggggggggggg nap! Everyone have a great day!!
  20. Terri-great to see you still have your sense of humor....love it!! Question for all violets.... We ahave all had NSVs and SV right? here is the question. What was your favorite NSV you have had? My answer...my fav NSV is a tie. First was putting on my first ever pair of 12/14 pants. The other was how proud my ob/gyn was of me. I could hear him down the hall from my room telling people about it What are your favs? The needle stick today did not hurt at all thank goodness. Kat-Our house is one whole street over from where we are now LOL At least it won't be any trouble driving back & forth during the moving process. I hope everyone has a great evening!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

good for you Tracy - I really can't wait for appt on friday, I really need to go over my choices. or good choices for when I'm running like a crazy person. I am going to read my journal at work tonight or when I get home while I relax. today - 2 cups coffee 2 chicken tenders i know... no good. about 250 cals for the day. I have good food at work - I have not been able to eat with dd being sick, stress does bad things to the band. so here is my NSV for the day... I was at the Dr. office with Melissa - we obviously have same dr - so since we know each others weight, and bad habits, she said I could go in. Nancy our np (who I love and is leaving) asked if we met, i looked familiar, I told her my name and she was amazed. Dr. Singh was looking at me like he knew me but couldn't put his finger on it either... that was the motivation I needed. my own dr didn't know me. LOL Melissa - you are doing great girlfriend! keep up the great work.
  22. Terry, I agree with your eating. I DO enjoy it more, part of it is actual taste, the other part is the lack of shame in how much I actually ate!!! I buy better quality food now, because I buy less quantity. I will buy small filets as opposed to the larger sirloin for instance. Or will opt to pay more for fresh veggies in the produce section as opposed to canned goods. In that way the food I eat tastes better. The other side of it is, I no longer feel shame about how much I ate, or how I should have made better choices. I don't end every day vowing to do better the next day. The band has allowed me to relax with food, and enjoy it without the emotions getting in the way. I can't explain it well, but, I know it figures in to how much I enjoy food these days. When I see the little square Ghirardelli chocolates at a checkout counter, I can grab one, and savor it, I know it will be enough to satisy the sweet tooth....and be happy about it, I do not have to buy the family size bag of M & M's, and polish them off in a day! I have found new foods I like, but not tons....mainly because I have not gone looking!!! I am a creature of habit. I go to restaurants and always order the same thing! I have my usuals everywhere we go!!! But I am not complaining, I am ok with that. I am much more experimental at home. My biggest issue with food has been to learn not to cook so much! I cook like we are still a family with 3 kids eating...we are not!!! Well we took the wood to my Dad today and unloaded it for him, he was pretty happy!!!! He is not supposed to lift more than 10-15 pounds, since his carotid artery surgery. My Mom belongs to the Rebbekah Lodge, and is at a 4 day National Conferance...so Dad was home alone. I think he really loved getting the surprise of the good wood, but also for the company. Then we went out to my inlaws and split wood for them, until our son pissed off his Dad, and his wife made me mad as hell, so we just left them to do it alone!!! Damn kids! I got a call today from a friend I have not seen in YEARS!!! We lived near one another when our kids were tiny. We were both going through divorces, and had daughters the same age. We spent tons of time together, and then she moved back down south where her family was from...we have only got together sporadically since. We talk on the phone and email, but she is here--I get to see her tomorrow!! And I am not ashamed to face her! Not that she would think or say anything, she was always overweight as well...but I was ashamed of myself. And tomorrow I won't be....it feels like a HUGE NSV for me! Self pride....hmmmm....what a concept! Tomorrow I am going with Becky to find a hearth pad for their new woodstove-then we are going on a New Construction Home Parade. I have gone for several years, it is a lot of fun. Local builders open up homes they built for tours....lots of good ideas!!! Then going to dinner with my friend. To meet her fiance!! His family is from our area, so I might actually get to see her more often! Well I feel better, but took some cold meds, and they are kicking in, and my eyes are a drooping!!! Will check in with y'all tomorrow when I get a chance!!! The city put in new electric poles behind us, so we were without power for several hours today. Now I have to look forward to the phone company, and the cable company changing their lines over!!!! Whatcha wanna bet the phone company screws up....they ALWAYS do when I am involved!!! Catch y'all tomorrow! Kat
  23. Terri-I forgot to tell you that I love your Christmas party blouse. Very elegant looking! Tracy-woohoo, lets hear it for the willpower!! That is awesome! That is a cool NSV....feels great, right? Pamela-thanks for the link for the castle. That is gonna be such a fun fun fun reunion!! The trip that you have planned for the summer makes me envious! Cindy-sounds like you had such a wonderful day yesterday!! Kat-how did the party go? Judy-how was the concert? Now to the topic...what does my dh get for christmas? that is an easy one...nothing! He just bought a new truck and that is that! Makes it easier on me. I bought him a pressure washer for this b-day. You would havethought I gave him a million dollars. My trips for the coming year are still up in the air...except for the most important one...our violets trip in May. I am SO excited about that! I can not wait to meet you all  We did not win squat at the casino yesterday. Normally I at least have a good time, win or lose, but this time it was disappointing all the way around! I looked cute though...lol I bought some shirts that fit. For the first time in my life I was able to go in and rack up on clothes!! That was fun! This next weekend is my dh company christmas party but we can not go because we are having dss & dsd over that weekend. Its OK though because I love when they are here....and so does Macy! Speaking of dd, she is coming home today from her weekend with mawmaw & pop. I need to bring her to see santa....ugh I would rather be beat than to stand in that line at the mall. But it is worth it to see the smile on her face! Have a great day violets!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

HELLO Fellow Violets!!!!!!! I had a hard time getting in today so now it is already afternoon! I was VERY happy to see the weight on my siggy this a.m. now I want those 230's!!!!! I have had 1 pc cajun string cheese 1 fairly large pc of meatloaf 1 cookie ( ) 44 oz's of water..... My sister and her best friend just started a colon cleansing program Colon Cleansing, Constipation, IBS, Colonix, Cleanse, Detox – Online Resource and I am about ready to try it myself, I wonder if it would be ok for us! I'm guess it would be since we have all our innards. I will warn you the pics on the website are DISGUSTING so if you thought my surgery pictures were gross..... BE WARNED..... I will also say that my sis (who is only on day two) is already a believer.. she's had bathroom problems her ENTIRE LIFE... she used to run from my grandma if she had a bar of soap in her hand! LOL sad but true. Feed back anyone???? NSV: I am now able to wear 5 pairs of my old jeans and two of my old "good" bra's that I had gotten too wide for. My boss, today said he could tell I was losing weight.... (HE DOES NOT KNOW I HAD SURGERY) but he does know that I'm on a diet and paid to see a nutritionist. Also... this is pretty amazing because he is a near retirment normally unobservant MAN!
  25. Hey Pretty Lady! Actually, I've been out and about and I saw you from your window! Al Fresco, huh? Nice day for it! One month out and I'm feeling pretty good! The lump is still there, but I think it's getting smaller, I'm hoping anyway. Dr. K ultrasounded it and it's just fluid. We decided not to drain it now and hopefully it will absorb. I measured myself and my waist has decreased from 58.5 to 54.0. The chest hasn't decreased at all! The Hips and thighs have gotten smaller too! I was thrilled! I'm back to not losing again. I went back to work and my ankles and feet are swollen from all of the standing! I cannot wait until I've lost enough weight that I don't have to endure that! It's going to be the best NSV I'll ever have!:cool2: I have now exercised everyday for almost 2 weeks! I'm up to 10.50 mins now and feeling pretty good about it! I make myself do it first thing in the morning and then an hour after dinner I go for another 10.5mins on my recumbent bike. I love that bike! It cost me an arm and two legs! Difficult to ride it now that I'm missing those limbs, but I was worth it! Well, I'm looking forward to Red Robins! Yeah!!! Thanks for keeping us on track with our monthly gatherings! Love ya, dee~
