Im so glad everyone is getting NSV's! Yayyy for us julysters. Dezadoo, you got an nsv too but just didn't know it. When people are complimenting you about your tan its because you are glowing and looking healthier!! Im pretty certain of this. My husband pointed out that people don't always notice size but they do recoginize health and vibrance! Im glad too that everyones first days back at work went well. I just want to report that my five day challenge to myself to not have any sugar is going well. Im staying on track! No sugar today.

Oh Ruthie! What nice things you said about me I appreciate everyone's support here as well. I regret I haven't been here much lately and have made a promise to myself to keep coming here regularly so as not to loose sight of the fact that there are other great people going through what I am and facing the same struggles. Congrats on the NSV's!! How exciting! I work in a middle school and said this year that next year for Christmas I am going to get me a "teacher sweater" with Christmas stuff all over it to fit in with the teachers the week before Christmas! How fun! Keep up the great work!

Hey everyone - checking in... Got on the scale this morning and at the begining of my TOM I'm down 2lbs. I had been up about 4, but since my fill, I'm down those 4 plus another 2. I had DH get a few more tops out of my "some day bin" and I got two pairs of pants in a 2X. Congrats on the NSV, VLP! NSV means "non scale victory" and that's exactly what you had with the clothes fitting. Jessica - nice to see you here! Since we were banded the same day, it's nice to hear from you I am still having my Slim Fast shakes once or twice a day because I really like them. I eat about 4 heaping tsps of cottage cheese and a snack cup of diced peaches for lunch, or soup; and then for dinner I have some chicken or other protein meat and some veggie. My band is at 8cc's, so I don't take in much, but that's the way I wanted it. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Beth - I can't believe you watched that much football!! The drink you found sounds yummy...I've never heard of it. I still don't know why you have problems keeping your food down...when is your next appt? Well, after a nice long weekend (no work/school Wed - Fri and then the weekend) it's back to work tomorrow. I'm going to get out the holiday decorations and decorate my office. Hopefully the kids are healthier coming back to school as we had a lot of sick kids before the break. Have a great night!

What's up everyone how's it goin? I had a NSV over the break, I was going in for my 6 month checkup (5 months in) and they had a new gal working working at the front desk. Lap-Band patients have to fill out some survey thing that reports stuff to your doctor. Well she didn't give me one so I was just sitting their waiting, and like 10 minutes later she calls me over and says she didn't know I had the lap-band and gave me the sheet. I'm joining in on the Valentine Challenge, I've been a slug over christmas break. I'll say 210-215 by Valentine's Day. Anyways, I start a pretty hard course load on wednesday so wish me luck. (I'm taking a weight training course too, pretty cool :heh:) Welp, take it easy everyone. Here is a new pic(click for biggie): Also, I'm hoping to hit my overall goal before June 24th (a year from when I originally started my diet, one month before the surgery.)

    February/March 2014 sleevers

Hair sheds when dry and there is a handful when wet. Ugh. I just had a big loss but pretty sure I'm now in a stall. No scale so my daily weighing habit is on hold (I'm on vacation). Loving all the NSV's though.

    Where are the 50s ???

Okay, I have to give a shout out for my newest NSV!!!!! I have never been in favor of exercise (my favorite Bible verse is "Bodily exercise profiteth little..." lol - not really!) But, at 2 years out things have to step up to keep my new body/health in check. So I bought a bike and started riding several days a week 2-3 miles and today, I DID A WHOLE 30 MINUTES ON THE ELLIPTICAL! Now, that is BIG for me! ha! Anyway, I have seen a real change just by increasing exercise and lowering carbs. Fight the good fight, 50's!!!! Peace.
  9. So great to hear from everyone. Really sounds like you all are doing great on your journeys. I need to start back in exercising. Haven't done much since I got the cast off my foot. I am slowly losing, but definitely at a less rate than a couple months ago. Wine is not helping. I think I'm about 69lbs down and that is from surgery date of 2/3. For breakfast I usually have a protein drink once I get to work. If I'm unusually hungry in the morning, I'll have an egg and a sliver of avocado. Lunch most of the time is a salad, packed with protein (chicken, egg, beans, hummus, etc). I sometimes get one larger salad at my work cafe then eat half for lunch and half for dinner (if I'm working late). I try not to eat past 6 o'clock and my dinner varies a ton. Sometimes it's just a quest bar, others it's what my family is having, or leftover lunch as I mentioned. I have not been logging my food anymore. I know it's something I need to get back to as that is when I am most successful. I am in ketosis (state of fat burning) as I have no sugar or carbs for the most point. One fun NSV for me is I'm starting to feel and see my collar bones!!!
  10. Janette so glad you had a great trip and experienced so many NSV's! Great job on your follow up Claire, so glad your doc is pleased with your progress. I hope the suggested things help with your diarrhea. That must be tough to be so unpredictable and having to be near a toilet all the time. Do you think insurance will help with the skin removal? I definitely want a tummy tuck, but not sure it will be covered. I'm also going to pursue a breast reduction and lift.

  13. Hi everyone - great to catch up on all your news (I've been mostly without access to the internet while in Scotland). Tammy - so glad you found us again! I had the same problem so I've "bookmarked" our group. Sorry about your weight fluctuation - in my own experience, exercise has been more of a factor in my weight loss than just what I'm eating. Good luck! You can do it! Deanna - what a huge difference - you look amazing! Erin - you look fantastic too - I can't believe you've still got 25 lbs to go - you'll be downright "skinny" I had a lovely visit with Claire - she's exactly as positive, kind and supportive as you would imagine from her posts - and she looks great. I loved a comment that she made - she said we are "melting downwards" (maybe a British thing?) - it's true! - we've both lost lots of weight in our faces, shoulders, arms etc. Can't wait for the "melting" to reach my belly!! (We're both still "apples") In fact, Claire has lost so much weight from her face that it was her yellow VW Bug I recognized - not her Change that picture, Claire! We had so much in common - not just WLS - and her husband is a sweetheart - hope to see them again soon. Lots of NSV's on my trip - no seat extension on the plane (in fact I had to tighten my belt!); easily got in and out of the back of my brothers tiny car; walked everywhere without difficulty etc. My mother lives in the city of Glasgow so I took the train or bus "into town" to go shopping several times and walked for hours around the pedestrian precincts checking out the latest styles, visiting large book stores etc. So much fun - I was really "chuffed" with myself. And I lost weight over the past few weeks - despite having my fish and chips, sausage roll and haggis (yes haggis!), I've finally entered "Onederland". Still got a ways to go but I'm feeling so positive - it's definitely worth it. Glad to be home - missed my hubby!
  14. Hi, Wow Janette, thin enough to slide past, how wonderful! I am not sure about NSA or NSV, but I thought if A stood for Advantage, then it should be A. I have posted two new pictures from today, and two from the day before my surgery. I can't quite believe it myself, I don't seem recognisable even to me. Take care Claire
  15. Glad to hear from you! That sucks at vomiting. Hope it doesn't happen again. Yassssss @ exercising. Same here, working out feels so much better now lol. Hi all, I just had to share this funny NSV!! My cat usually sits on one of my legs and this morning she kept falling off, it was so funny she was slowly losing her balance and one of her paws kept slipping!! I know my legs aren't skinny but it does show they are smaller than they used to be......

    NSV anyone?

My first NSV...I returned to work Monday and two guys in the office came up and said, wow, you look so great -- I love your new hair do. I have not done anything to my hair...I think my face has gotten thinner. I just smiled and said, thanks, glad you like it. I laughed to myself as I walked away. It was fun. Plus, I notice all my too tight closes are now way too loose. I can shop in my closet for several months before I will need to buy anything. I have a pile of clothes started that I want to donate too. It is a fun feeling to take out the old and slide into clothes that have not fit for quite a long time. Ya hoo. I love reading everyone's NSV's -- alot of fun to share in the joy!!!!!! Keep em coming everyone.
