Went back to work last Monday, got told had company trip and needed to reschedule, called and they tell me it 6 weeks out to new appt. So IM 3 weeks out, plus 6 weeks = BS. Anyone else have to wait 9 weeks? Do not go to rocky mountain save. Physicians... They treat you like they could careless.

Post op Anxiety
Princess Peaches replied to Princess Peaches's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's great that it is finally working for you but why did you wait 3 months for the third fill, was this your choice or the doctors advice? -
I have no idea what might be happening with your knee, but I do think you should go see primary care if it still feels that way after a week or 10 days. This is great advice. If you start working it too early you could hurt it further...water exercise is smart.

I waited the 3 months my doc tells us to. Since then a "drink" happens when the urge strikes. Sent from my mobile productivity killer.

Hey all, I got on the scale tonight to find I'm down 42 pounds from the day I started my pre-op diet on 3/16! I almost can't believe it! Tomorrow will be 6 weeks post-op for me and I have not one regret on getting this surgery. Compared to all of the diets I've tried and failed on in the past, the last 6 weeks with the sleeve have been so easy! I finally feel like a normal person who doesn't think about food all of the time. I have been very diligent on tracking every calorie, carb, and gram of Protein since surgery, but I've been so-so with exercising. My goal for the next 6 weeks is to work out six days a week so I can keep this downward scale momentum going!

I'm a little over 8 months out (started at BMI 36 before my VSG, having previously dieted down from BMI 46 and am now at BMI 23.8) and starting to try to taper off the weight loss. I've been eating a little more the past month, 1500 calories or so per day, and have still lost the same 3-4 pounds as the previous month. Weight loss was very rapid at the beginning and is now clearly tapering off. I've read about others continuing to lose weight even when increasing calories gradually so I was prepared for this, and still want to lose 10 pounds or so. I can't believe how well everything has gone! I'm mostly wondering about a couple of things: I do have some excess skin, how much do you suppose that weighs? I'm aiming for a BMI of about 22 but of course I have no idea what my normal weight is so I'm shooting from the hip here. Should I factor in for the excess skin and if so, how much? I don't know if anybody has that info or would hazard a guess. I'm 39 and though there is some loose skin around my lower belly I've come out surprisingly all right in that area, I think. I'm not comfortable wearing short shorts, knee-length yes, and have been seen in a skirt (with tights!) ending a couple inches above my knees. My arms have really firmed up well (I'm doing Pilates weekly) and I'm trying to get more exercise done now it's so easy to move. For anybody just considering having the surgery, I'd say definitely go for it. It has been one of the best decisions of my life. And I'm really glad I found my way to this forum: I don't post a lot but I've read a lot of the info and it has helped enormously. To each and every one of you: thank you! So now what? I go on with my life, healthier, happier and half my size six years ago. I'm still a work in progress in other ways, but I think I've got this particular problem out of the way. I'll still continue to watch what I eat, make sure I get enough Protein and weigh myself weekly, and look forward to the rest of my new, healthier life.

when should i take my surgical plasters off?
HAPPY ME ! replied to mollycogs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would think that if the plasters are still on after 8 weeks post-op, then call your Dr, and seek their advice. My plasters came off with in 2 weeks post op. So call..... -
Question*~* Did anyone take diet pills prior to surgery?
.......... replied to MzFree-Spirited Vsg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The old prescritptions were some times very effective but they took allot of the market as well as the 3 pill coctail including phentermine as a part. The latest news is that they have aproved one which also has the phentermine in it but its the first in 10 years. Over the counters have herbals now as well, they are not so good. I use a natural resource algea called spirulina which has an over powering taste and I put it in blenderized drinks. It takes some getting used to if you hadn't drank anything like it before. -

HAS ANYONE JUST ATE ALL THE WRONG FOODS FOR A WEEK STRAIGHT?
Godsfavoraintfair posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am stressing a little because I went on vacation for a week and ate everything that I used to eat prior to being sleeved in 1/11 and the bad part was I didn't get sick, it was good and now I have to truly start all over! These are the habits that kept me fat all my life! I didn't stuff myself but I did eat more than three times a day and I gained 2 lbs. Anybody been there and how hard was it to get refocused? -
Hi everyone! I am waiting to schedule my appointments with the surgeons office. They won't schedule any appointments until I get, complete, and return the medical packet they mailed me. I am a bit confused about one aspect though. My insurance requires 90 days of medically supervised diet and exercise. The office said it will take 6 months before my procedure can be scheduled. Why would the office want an extra 3 months versus my insurance?

This may seem like a strange question but my urine when I wiped is orange. I'm three weeks post op and I take celebrate multi and calcium they both are orange flavor could this be the case. When I told my doctor she kind of laughed because she have never heard of this one and she has heard a lot she explains. Has anyone came across this or has experienced this before. It's no smell or feeling whatsoever just the color on tissue when I wipe.

I've been banded a little over a year and already had a personal set back. I let a personal issue consume me and I started making horrible choices. I know exactly what I'm doing wrong and know how to fix it I just need that motivation. What bugs me the most is I went back to my old ways. I've also pushed someone special out of my life. I'm hoping starting over making the right decisions will get me back on track and talking to that special someone <3

I got the infamous 3rd week stall right on time. After that, I could expect a week long stall at least once a month. -
Post-dumping (days later) severe gas, pain after eating
gtotheb posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi there. I had gastric bypass about 3 months ago, have had no complications and have lost about 54 pounds so far. All has been going swimmingly! EXCEPT, I had some whipped cream Sunday which led to diarrhea and then all day extreme gas pains after eating small snacks. I switched to liquids on Monday, still experienced severe gas all day and today, Tuesday, had low carb, low fat, high protein snacks and tolerated them well. UNTIL I just had sugar free pudding and a small bit of chicken ravioli (3-5 bites) and the gas pain started up again. Ugh! Does anyone know what I should be doing?! Is this normal to have gas pains like this several days after dumping? -
My guide from the surgeon says 500-600 calories for 4-6 weeks post op with the end of the 6th week being from 600-700. Protein goal is 50-70 as well. I'm just curious how long it will last I guess or how to kick it to working again lol Sent from my SM-S978L using the BariatricPal App

What Do You Do When You Are At A Stall?
Izuri replied to Karen2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At first its a bit like you're tricking your body, but then it catches on and will stall as it gets everything back on track. During stalls we tend to lose inches, so measure and hang in there! -

Anyone lost 1/2 the weight and then can't loose more?
Sherry S posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the sleeve 3 yrs ago and lost 25 lbs then my weight loss stopped. I've tracked my weight everyday since and seems no matter what I do I stay w/in 3 lbs. I've written everything I've eaten, counted calories, upped my treadmill time and cut my portion size. I get my Protein and Water in everyday. I eat healthy. I'm wondering if age plays a part in it? I just turned 70 and am in great health. Since surgery my PB is normal as are all other tests. I just can't loose any more weight. I've heard of set points with weight and wonder if mine has been cemented at this weight. Any info or suggestions appreciated. Thanks Sherry
