My NSV....I am wearing a sweater that I have not worn in about 3 years and I have had 3 people who have told me that I look smaller!!!!!! I still have a long way to go but it is a great feeling to hear someone say that you look smaller and that you are in inspiration for them to lose weight.

My NSV: Two years out and I feel like a normal thin person. I don't obsess obout food, shopping for clothes, reading labels, counting calories, feeling guilty if I eat a cookie, feeling uncomfortable in conversations about weight, stairs don't scare me. I don't think about these things anymore...... I FEEL FREE!!!!! MERRY MERRY EVERYONE!!!!!

NSV, when both of you can fit comfortably in the bathtub again!

Chancie- You have come such a long way and I'm so happy for you!!! You're NSV's are so motivating! I can't wait to get there. I had an NSV today- I could zip my size 12 pants today! They didn't look good, but they zipped and buttoned!!

I think it has been close to 2 years since I posted an NSV. The jeans that started out as comfortably snug and progressed to sausage casing and finally unwearable are now comfortably snug again and the bra that started out as overflowing, became empty requiring "chicken cutlets" and then verged on overflowing again, now fits reasonably. yay for small victories.

Had a nice little NSV myself today. Only have a couple pair of shorts left (that l can wear safely/ without falling down). I knew I had dropped a size or 2 from 42-44's I had been wearing. Did a little shopping at Kohls and actually fit comfortably into a size 36 pair of Levi denim shorts. I seriously do not remember the last time I was in a 36, let alone getting the first pair I tried on.

Today I had the BEST NSV. My 8 year old son gave me hug and asked me how long I plan to keep exercising. I answered, "forever, Mommy wants to keep being healthy". He said "good, cause I can finally do this" and he gave me another hug and wrapped his arms around my waist. He said "I couldn't touch my hands together before but now I can clasp my hands together when I hug you. I like that". Like I said, the BEST NSV EVER.

Nsv for me was going back to my hometown yesterday I'm only 12 days out but down about 50-60 from my all time high. Everywhere I went people told me how good I looked and how proud of me they were. It felt awesome and was motivating! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

You know when you had weight loss surgery when..... NSV...You finish jogging on the treadmill at the gym. The person on the treadmill next to you say's thanks for motivating me to stay for an hour. They introduce themselves and you find out they are a high school physical education teacher.

Thanks Tiff! I guess my best NSV so far is when my son was gone for ten days and he came home, saw me and said, "wow! you look skinny!" That felt great! -
My favorite NSV so far! This past Friday, I went to pick up my son from daycare, & the owner told me how great u looked & told me to throw away the jeans I was wearing because they were sooo floppy! Her exact words, "Those jeans are beating you up, PLEEZ throw them away!" Add that to being able to wrap in a towel after my shower & my chinny chin chin going away and I'm feeling GREAT!!! That is the best NSV I have heard in a long time!!! Go buy yourself some new clothes!!

NSV for me -- new workout clothes! I looked at myself in the gym mirror and realized that in my 3-sizes-too-big shorts and t-shirt, I just looked like Sponge Bob Squarepants. I was just square, and looked like a sad ragamuffin, like I was in someone else's clothes. So this weekend I resolved to buy new shirts/shorts. Such a revelation -- looking good at the gym! I accused Nordstrom's of installing the skinny mirrors in the activewear dressing rooms, because darn, I looked GOOD in Large capri's and dri-fit shirt. But the outfit looked just as good in my true-to-life mirrors at home. Wow! Now let's see if it looks that good at the gym tomorrow!

Tiffy - what a GREAT NSV and a hilarious visual - I can just see you contorting all directions to be sure you're eyes weren't playing tricks on you! Rosebud2 - That's GREAT about your triangle light, too and your doctor giving Dr. Aceves a call. Bearded's cardiologist LOVED what he saw when he was in there and asked for Dr. Aceves' information to provide to his patients. Daisy - That is so cool. I am so glad you are going to the dancing class, have made a friend, bought new clothes and that you are getting out and socializing - you needed that!!! Me - I've got a very defined collarbone, my hip bones are starting to be defined, I've got a waist - starting to get that "hour-glass" figure. scale hasn't moved much in the past 2-3 weeks; however, pants I bought 4 weeks ago are big enough around the waist I have to wear a belt - which in turn has given me the compliment that I look "so tall and skinny" on more than one occasion. Keep posting everyone and keep up the great work!!!

Two NSV posts for me back to back! Yesterday I went and got a mani, and I hadn't seen this manicurist in a while. It genuinely took her a minute to recognize me. Then of course came the questions. She asked what I weighed, I told her, and then she said "I wish I weighed that". Someone wished they were my weight.... What?!! She said she weighs 163, which is a very normal weight to me, and a skinny weight to former me. A non-heavy person wished they were my weight... Mind blown.

Weighing less than my hubby was a HUGE NSV for me, yayyyy for you...I remember when it was 5lbs. less, now it's 37 lbs. less whoo hoo!!! and that is going to happen with you to sister

Tiffy, you are sooo good to post these great little NSV's. It really makes me think when ever I have a "giggly"moment. Kinda like a stop and smell the roses deal. Thanks for the reminders. -
Tiffy that is funny! I have never tried to float. I haven't been in a bathtub since my daughter was born 28 years ago and my mom said I could't take a shower cause I just had a C section and I might fall down. The best NSV by far for me has been my ball room dance classes. It's so much fun and there is no way I could ever have done this 100 lbs heavier! I am having a blast and dancing makes me so happy!

So when you are 3+ years post-op, NSVs are far and few between (because you've usually had all of them by then...no more plus sizes, fitting in airplane, movie theater, and don't forget restaurant booths, etc.) BUT the other day this happened to me: A tall slender girl who I know from the gym texted me and asked if I happened to have a "ugly Christmas sweater" she could BORROW? Wait...tall slim girl thinks I have something that she could wear that wouldn't look like a TENT on her? WOW! That was a first for me. Guess I must look fairly "normal" when it comes to sizes. And of course, I didn't have anything for her but just to think that we are in the same general SIZE ZONE was a big ole NSV that I had to share!

Vegas, I also just bought matching bra/panties. My reunion was last night, and I wanted to buy new under garments. They make you feel so pretty, even though nobody else can see them. Well, I found some darn cute matching panties and bras at Fashion Bug for the 1/2 the price at LB's. They are sooo much fun and I am starting to feel attractive again. Oh, and one set is fushia, one is purple, and other teal. I keep them on lingerie hangers because it makes me feel so good to be able to wear these things. LB's 14/16 were too big for me..unbelievable...I never thought that would happen so quickly. Another NSV..went shopping today at Walmart..need some kitty food and just cruised through the Women's dept looking for bargains..I got dirty looks from the women working there..everything was too big for me. Isn't this world funny..when I was a size 22/24 I got dirty looks for being so big, now I get dirty looks for not being that big. I guess we will just have to get used to it. We are going to get so skinny that we are not going to be able to stand it! LOL Oh..and started the recycling pile too. Now the clothes that are too big are cute and actually purchased within the last 3 mos. The clothes I ditched were gross..the elastic was so stretched out on the waistband I had to hold them together with a safety pin..they were polyester, so I couldn't hold a funeral for them, because they wouldn't burn, just would smoke like rubber tires..had to toss them in the dumpster..OH WELL!! LOL
