    How about some NSVs!?!?

I'm only 9 days post op but my bed has stopped creaking every time I move! It seems silly but it is a NSV for me because I share my bedroom with my 10 month old daughter, and it used to be that every time I rolled over she cried, and if I had to get out of bed, it woke her up. We are both sleeping so much better!

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I've been having so much fun picking up a new pieces a of clothing every time I'm in Walmart, Target, etc. I can't get over the low prices compared to when I had to shop Plus Size Specialty stores. I was in Walmart last week and picked up two tops for less than $12 each. ((NSV #1). I bought them 1 size smaller than I am now so i could wear them this spring. I showed them to my sister who said "Oh those will fit you now." I told her she was wrong but tried them on and they fit perfectly. Now I have to exchange them for yet another smaller size. (NSV # 2)
  4. First NSV for me! I bought a pair of 7s for all mankind capris last year and promptly grew out of them. They fit now. Starting to really feel the difference. More motivated than ever!
  5. New NSV.. Daughter has been in the airforce for 6 months. This weekend I drove down to spend time with her. We went shopping at the outlet mall. Same size shopping in the same stores. First for us ever and had a ball!! The outfit is tommy hillfiger size. 8 bottoms and med top!!! date of surgery 02/21/12 surgery weight 340 lbs. current weight 146 lbs

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I went out for dinner last night for the first time post surgery! Went to Earls and had a bento box but only had the salmon (without the sauce) - and only had about 2 ounces of it. I think I did ok! Oh and I tried on a pair of jeans that 6 weeks ago I couldn't even get up over my hips and I completely bypassed the "almost fit" stage!!! They went from being way too tight to wear, to TOO BIG!!! YAY!! (Wore them anyways just because I could ) That totally pumped me up for the evening! This is really happening!!!!!! Can't wait for more NSV'S! !!!!!

NSV for me today— The lady who works at our dry cleaners who I’ve seen for years didn’t recognize me until I told her my name. 😳 93 lbs down, 22 to go to hit my goal!

I'm 2 1/2 years post op & my NSVs are clothes for sure, able to wear calf boots (before even extra wide calf didn't fit), recently was able to go on a cruise to the Bahamas that we flew to AND went snorkeling with my sons while there! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. My first NSV....putting on a size smaller jean today! I forgot what it was like to feel so good in a pair of jeans.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

My NSV is that after about 3 seasons.. i was able to wear these beautiful brown suede boots that i have not been able to zip up past my calfs ... this past weekend.. they zipped all the way up .. and I was showing them off proudly.. Looking forward to seeing the clothes this spring.. in the bins downstairs that i have labled " Don't fit but keep just in case I lose weight " yes i really have a bin that says that.. I have some great designer clothes that I just could not part with and had hopes that one day i would fit into them again... More to come folks ...

Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)

I'm right there with ya, sister! I got off track this summer. It got too hot to walk the neighborhood. I have a perfectly good treadmill but hate using it, so did I walk anyway? NO! Now I'm having a hard time getting back in to it now that the weather has finally cooled off. WhooHoo!!!! Jenn, I don't know how I missed your pics! They're GREAT! I hate bloat!! What was your surgery, if you don't mind my asking? Sounds like female issues. I go see my GYN next month and we need to make some solid, serious decisions re: my cycles. Thanks. Best wishes today! Hope you get some good answers. Hopefully you get to go this weekend! Sounds like fun! Hopefully it doesn't hurt DS but I think he made the right decision to stay home. Thanks, just feels wrong when she's sick, to be worried about how it might affect you. Yea, I know! LOL! I'm loving this weather but I'm so cold! LOL! Looks like there might be a small possibility of rain next week, coming down out of Alaska! Brrrr! :wink2: What kind of training are you thinking of? Will it bring you to my area?! How fun! I love it when the stores are empty! I hate crowds. What great NSVs!!! So nice to be able to shop in regular sizes now! I forget tho and still start to head to the Plus size section. I'm not shopping for much tho! I have clothes and am trying to not buy much since I'm still going down. There are some things I need periodically but I'm not buying much. Can't afford it either. Tho I sure am WANTING to shop and I hate shopping!!! LOL!!! ~~~~~ I let DD sleep in til about 9 when she got up on her own. She needed it. She seems to be feeling a little better today. I'll keep her home tomorrow too tho. I've got to get some work done today. Need to get it back down to the office. Not really wanting to take DD out tho. I may call the secretary and ask if she wouldn't mind running up to the house to pick the stuff up. I hate to even ask. I'm only a couple of miles up the road but still. Maybe I'll find out if Pastor is going by and see if maybe he'll stop by on his way. He lives up the road from me so he has to go by my street. I'll make some phone calls when I'm done with my work and see.
  13. I forgot one of the best NSV comfortably using an airplane restroom on a transatlantic flight!!!

No loss and no gain for me this week. I have an NSV - I went shopping this weekend and bought a couple pair of shorts and a skirt from Tommy - size 8; I think they run big but the tag still says 8!

    October Bandsters!!!

So yesterday I went ahead an joined Lifetime Fitness! Best decision I've made this week! I will be starting a T.E.A.M. Training bootcamp class next week for a couple months @ 3x's a week with a personal trainer with a small group of other members who have some of the same fitness goals as myself. I will also be attending Aqua-Zumba on Sunday mornings. So excited about Aqua-Zumba!!! I can't wait. The best part about Lifetime Fitness is that it's 24/7 & it's literally less than 7mins from my house. U can't be that!!! They have rock climbing, aquatics, aerobics, hip-hop, volleyball, sauna, full beauty spa, yoga, & open swim with water slides and many activities for kids. Also a healthy restaurant inside the gym. And the best part of it all is it was not too expensive & I got a couple discounts because they have open house going on right now. Yay!!! I'm also excited about the fact that they are 24/7, so by me working nights I can go to the gym right afterwork instead of going home first and having to wait for other exercise options. ♥ So this morning I went to Aqua-Zumba... 60mins of Aqua-Zumba, 20mins in the hot-tub, 20mins of walking laps in the pool & 5mins in the steam room = over 700calories burned & a relaxed body ready for a LONG NAP!!! I enjoyed my first day at Lifetime Fitness!!! ♥ Back tomorrow morning for another 8am aquatic class!!! I have done pretty good the past few weeks. I gained 2#'s after Thanksgiving but the turned around and lost 4.8#'s and the another 4.9#'s this past Friday. Before I joined Lifetime Fitness, I was simply playing games on the Wii, attending Jazzercise, and walking away the pounds with Leslie Sansone. I plan on switching things up in my exercise routine to keep my body guessing. Hopefully this helps. I have had a couple NSV, first fitting a jacket I couldn't even close about 3months ago... My work pants are literally falling off me without a belt... I can see my collarbones... I have some restriction. I am staying under 1400 calories a day and I am satisfied for 3-4hours after eating. So as long as I continue to drop weight, I'm not going in for a fill. I hope everyone else is doing pretty good. Hope everyone has a great Christmas & New Year!!! 2012 is our year!!!

Congratulations and welcome Plain!! Most people that lose their appetite have it return in about two weeks. Some sooner, some later, but 2 weeks seems to be the reported average. Try to get in the protein you need so you want feel so tired. Stay with the post op diet, it helps. I haven't tried these test tube things everyone is talking about yet but I plan to. Sounds like a good source of protein. Hang in there. Lo2us, Congrats on the NSV, I have a feeling those pounds will start melting off soon. I can't wait to see you again. I have been pretty the last couple of weeks, and haven't been on here much. Got some catching up to do. Gotta go but HI to everybody and I'll post more later.

Kittylover: I think whatever helps is great. Good luck with TOPS! I had a NSV victory this week. My massage therapist is into the YOU on A Diet, Dr. Oz book and wanted me to measure her waist and she measured mine. My waist measured 33 inches! When I measured 2 months ago it was 38 inches. So, I think that the Water aerobics must really be helping. Now, below the waist is another story, but I'll take my NSV when I can. I lost 1 pound this week, but the scale is going back and forth. Up one, down one. Don't know if I should count it. I need all of your opinions. I go to see my doctor on Monday. The question is whether I should ask him to give me a fill. My doctor is leaving the state at the end of the month. There office is still not sure if they have another doctor coming to replace him. I have a contract for a year's support with fills, nutritionist support, etc. I may have to find another doctor to continue my care (outside of my current doctor's office). I know that my appetite is picking up, but some foods are difficult for me to eat, ie. meat, bread, anything that isn't chewed well. I think that if I could use, I would get a fill in another 2-3 weeks. But, with my doctor leaving, I feel that I should get it while, I can. I only hesititate because I am going on a week long trip with my DH at the end of next week. If I get a fill, I will be on liquids, then mushies, etc. and would only be trying regular food when it was time to leave on the trip. I don't know what I would do if I was too filled. It sucks that my doctor is leaving. What would you do?

I'm down 5 lbs this week !! I just finished my TOM, so I'm sure that helped. I only exercised two days, though, so I'll have to get in an extra one this week! Love those NSVs! I had one last night. I have a very cushy, pillow-top mattress. I realized last night that I can roll over without sort of lifting myself up out of the dip! That's kinda hard to explain, but it meant a lot to me. gonnabethin, Happy Birthday! Hope your best gift is a nice drop next week! (edit) I just cancelled my fill appointment for tomorrow. I'm very happy with where I am right now, and as long as I continue to lose, I'm gonna stay here. I even tested 'er out with steak yesterday, with no problem. Tami 1/6 No exercise B: 1 c. No apology necessary! NSV = non-scale victory, meaning anything positive that comes from being banded *other* than losing weight (like improved flexibility, going off meds, getting winked at by the cute bag boy....) Tami

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Dear Don: That's fantastic! Those NSV's (off your meds) are great. I tend to think only of the scale victories, but the NSV's are real too. I'm going for my physical in August and can't wait to see what my internist says. Keep it up

What a great NSV that formal was! I love Mardi Gras season and the balls are my very favorite part of it. Congrats on hitting Onederland!
  23. Just had a check up at my dr's office. My hemoglobin A1C was 6.2 and rising which is considered pre-diabetic. I am now proud to say its 5.5 and I am no longer considered pre-diabetic! Best decision I made for improving my health has been getting sleeved!

    January Bandsters???

I feel the exact same way. The scales are saying "I gained" however, my clothes are saying "I've lost". I also had a NSV yesterday. I was sitting at a red light when I could feel someone looking at me, I looked over the left and there were these two young boys giving me the looks and smiling at me. LOL. Wow, even though I'm 40 and happily married for 19 years, it still felt good to have these young boys notice me. They probably would have crapped their pants had they known I was 40. LOL. Here is another NSV I had, a guy I work with came up to me yesterday and said my face looks so much thinner and not only that, my complextion looked so much smoother too. He said he could tell I was losing weight. No one from work knows I had the Lap-Band surgery, but they they know I had a hernia repair, so thats all they think. Its just nice when someone notices. It lifts my spirits.
