I’m also sorry to have offended you. I hope you don’t think that we don’t care or we roll our eyes (or in my case SMH) at every OP’s post, but perspective does come with experience. Like I said to the other gal, I hope you come back and participate because it’s truly a NSV to relate to this thread. Much love! ❤️

Well today is a lovely day. My jeans...the ones I have been wearing for a few years...at least the size of jeans anyway (they never last that long because my thighs rub holes in them!!!)...have been getting really loose on me. I have one pair I can wear for about an hour before they just fall off. Which is really fantastic. So this morning I reach into my closet and pull out this pair from Maurice's that my mom bought me awhile back. And I took a DEEP breath. Then slowly, one foot then leg at a time, I pulled them on. They went up my legs(and didnt get stuck BEFORE my hips), then they went OVER my hips, then glory be...THEY BUTTONED!!!! I couldnt believe it. AND not only did they button, they were not tight ANYWHERE!!! I could grab excess fabric in my butt area and my thighs!!! These jeans were a pair I couldnt even get over my hips a few months ago. A full size smaller than the ones I had been wearing. And Maurices at that!! I think they run small!! (ok my experience, but that is what I am sticking to telling myself). What a great NSV!!!!! (because I needed it...no weight loss this week), but I will take the full size smaller, and I WILL ROCK IT!!!!

Good Afternoon! I have been baking Cookies all day long, I am getting ready to clean up and put things away. I have to admit that today things went well! Cindy - I agree, I don't want my band too tight. It sounds like you are doing great with this fill! Have fun on a unexpected day off! I wasn't cracking up about the Protein bar riding with you just in case, I was cracking up because of you thinking to take protein! Now be serious, before you were banded what would you have grabbed? Patty - Sorry to hear your day went so bad, hang in there it gets better. You are probably getting a good case of the nerves! Sorry about the job! Eileen - Yes, I am feeling much better, thanks for asking. Right now though a good hot bath would feel real good! Not that I need it ( I have so much sugar on me) but my feet hurt from standing all day! Hmmmm, come to think of it that is a good NSV, last year I would not have stood all day, the chair would have been holding my butt up! When did you say you start your vacation? Jan - Hope you don't catch that cold! Boost up your Vitamin C's! Beanie - Did you get the stuff all in the mail? Is it time for me to cross everything? Zan - Where are you today? Hope you are tied up in cold weather. Last night it took my DH 2 hours to get home from Dallas. Usually it is a 30 minute trip at the longest, needless to say he wanted a beer the minute he walked in the door! Well, going to go take a break before it is time to cook supper. Later!

OK- I started exercising with Turbo Jam a little over a month ago. (and I am totally addicted) I have not lost a single pound since April 14th (still at 195) but I have lost a total of 10" in this period of time. 10 inches! That brings my total inches lost since surgery date to 30 1/2 inches. Two and a half feet of volume gone forever! I'm pumped. Measurements 9/14/05 vs. 4/18/06 vs. 5/24/06 bust: 47 1/2 ---> 43 ---> 42 (-5 1/2) chest: didn't measure in the beginning ---> 40 1/2 ---> 38 (-2 1/2 with turbo jam) waist: 48 ---> 39 ---> 35 (-13) hips: 51 ---> 45 1/2 ---> 43 (-8) thigh: 28 ---> 25 ---> 25 (-3) arm: 15 ---> 14 1/2 ---> 14 (-1) I started out a size 22W, and I have gone from a size 16 to a 14 in just the last month.

Hello all, I have been absent for a few days as I have been sick! Still am...have the crud! I just wanted to say hello to everybody. I am too busy here at work to read back and see who all has been posting but, I am just glad you all are here. I hope this blog goes on forever. I always worry that people will drop out and once we all loose our wght..that we won't need each other anymore. I know I will. NSV!!!! I had to go to Target yesterday to buy a presant for my daughter and I passed these cute Trouser Jeans on the rack in the junior dept. Well, I have been wanting a pair because they are the nice dark ones that look like slack that you can wear on Casual Fridays at some work places. Well, I really didn't have the xtra money at this time but I wanted to try them on anyway to see how they looked. I grabbed the 14's and went in and tryed them on. Too big! I had the sales lady go get me the next lowest size...a 12! They fit perfect! Let me tell you, it took all of my will power not to buy them just because they had a 12 tag in them. I figured that I could buy them after Christmas if they are still there. I am on cloud nine...a size 12! I am sure it was just the brand but...a size 12! Happy Happy Joy Joy.. Doin the happy dance Weazer Merry Christmas and Blessings to you all and your families! Weazer

coolness metal! my most recent nsv was NOT having to ask a stewardess for a seatbelt extender the last time i flew down to houston from maine. that rocked, as well as being SIGNIFICANTLY more comfortable in the little tunacans they label as coach seating. another nsv had last night. went over to friends house for dinner and drinks. i sat down in a chair i never would have dreamed sitting in six months ago. i would have broken it. not this time. not even a squeek.

Hello Maysters! I am a Junie and read your posts from time to time to get a heads up on my future challenges and for hope, which you have all given me. Your successes are huge!! I love the NSV stories, they are so good to help us when the scale does not move. lj Like the others said, you may want to call your doctor. Does it fill like you have food in your throat or it is a lump or something? I have this happen. My NP said it is a sign if I over eat and that I am regergitating, my food is coming back up and stays there. It is a gross feeling and does not go away quickly. I watch my portion sizes and since my second fill I do feel fuller and know to stop even when my brain says it is sooooo good! Hope this helps..

okay everyone....I had a NSV today!!!! Last month I had a pair of jeans I had bought..they were my very first button jeans bought in years. They were a size 24. I wore them to the doctor and we went and test rode bikes. I ripped them when they got caught in the derrailler. So, I went to the store to get a new pair, and they didnt have a size 24, but had a size 22. Well, I ended up buying them knowing they would not fit. I had tried them on a few times this past month, and did not fit. TODAY LADIES AND GENTS....THEY NOT ONLY FIT BUT ARE COMFY!!!!!! YES, 6 MONTHS LATER AND I HAVE GONE FROM A SIZE 30/32 TO A SIZE 22.... WOOHOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I AM SO THANKFUL TO HAVE THE FRIENDS AND SUPPORT AND THE DESIRE TO CONTINUE TO LOOSE. THE BAND HAS GIVEN ME A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON MY LIFE, AND I CANT WAIT UNTIL EVEN THESE GET TOO BIG. THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE THE MESSAGE BOARD WITH YOU TO SHARE THIS NEWS __________________

I had a NSV this weekend. We live in Houston....home of the Houston Texans Football Team. Well we had an invite to go tailgating this weekend. My husband has a Texans Jersey, my son has a Texans Jersey. Well my daughter (age 6) and myself did not and we wanted all to represent!!!LOL!! So we stopped at Walmart....the adult womens jersey all they had was a size Small pink Texans Jersey so my daughter go that...it was big but it looked cute on her. They had no mens jersey's so I wan bummed that I was not going to get one. Well we happen to go by the boys section. They had jersey's....My DH said try on the boys XL. I said that is not going to fit.....well to my surprise it did. Perfect...so at the Texans tailgate Sunday I was wearing a little boys Jersey!!! LOL!!! My kids and husband were sooooo tickled....my DH kept saying you look sooooo good! My son said I am sooo jealous...I cant fit those...I had to get a mens!!! LOL Sandra 255h/242s/194c/165g

NSV...they're my favorite I went to a class at my church tonight and saw and old friend that I hadn't seen in 14 years. I have to admit, I had gotten into the habit of dodging old friends, not wanting them to see me. I went to say "Hi" and she responded with "You look great...haven't changed". If she only knew how much I had changed. Made me think about how it took me 15 years to get where I was...helps me be a little more patient (sometimes) on getting back down. Another NSV...I crossed my legs to take notes on my lap. I haven't done that in 14 years (my last baby), sure felt "normal". I can truely say I'm starting to feel "normal", instead of always looking around to see if I'm the fattest person in the room. :car: Is everybody else running out of clothes too? It's really fun to shop the "normal" sizes. Xl are fitting great, and last night I wore my son's L hoodie, put it on just for fun to see how tight it would be. It wasn't tight at all...plenty of room!!!

Me again...6 months today. Had a great NSV today. My sister-in-law called me today to ask if she could come work out with me some time. She's been doing Weight-watchers...forever, and surprise surprise she is gaining the weight back. She was sitting next to me at Thankgiving, and commented that she was surprised that I could eat everything served, and I'm still loosing weight. She says I'm looking so "fit" that I must be doing something more than just loosing weight. She's going to come down to lift weights with me some time. I really feel like even a moderate amount of weights makes such a difference in toning and boosting metabolism. Sure helps the motivation to have someone notice, especiallywhen they say you're looking "fit", not just smaller. Oh, and on the scale...I was hoping not to gain over Thanksgiving, and I LOST a pound. Gives me hope that I can get through the next 6 weeks that include my birthday, christmas and a cruise. Sue

You guys are great... I try to keep up with reading all your posts to learn, I am a June bandster! What is a NSV! Wenjea What a great feeling when you go shopping and go down in sizes. I went shopping at store at the mall this weekend and they had a big sale. I had to get a dress for my son's wedding this Saturday( not like waiting...right!) but was able to get a 16! And two other dresses for work too. Like you, I don't want to spend a lot on clothes I hopefully don't fit into for long. I try to buy everything on clearance! QUESTION I have not had a fill yet, just reaching my 4 weeks being banded. I have had a hard time staying good on my eating. I am to be on Mushies until my doc appointment tomorrow, however I have eaten tortilla chips and dip with out restriction or problems, besides feeling VERY guilty, I am concerned that I may be harming my band and stomach?? what do you think? I am back on my plan and trying to remain focused, but it is hard when the hunger is coming back and no restriction... I have 3 weeks until my first fill...

NSV for me!! I managed to easily put on a NON-stretchy pair of NON-Lane Bryant pants in my closet. They look fabulous as long as I am standing up J Sitting in them is not pretty or bearable but it will come with time. I was just happy to be able to put them on without tugging or sucking my gut in! I went to a support group last night that had the potential to be a really good thing but one loud mouthed know it all ruined it for everyone else. I have never been so irritated in all my life. I wont say much more for fear of her seeing this!

I went to go see my doc yesterday...since I have been lifting weights I have had a lot of pressure in my port. They said everything was fine but I am not convinced. Does anyone know how you test to see if your port is flipped????? The scale is not being nice....even w/ me doing liquids for almost 2 days I have gainned a pound. I am not worried because TOM is almost here. NSV.....my DH has this bench that he does incline sit up on....but I have to sit on the end because he will flip over w/ bench and all. Well I sit there and count for him.....and I have been doing this for months for him. Well yesterday I sat there like I always do....and the bench kept trying to flip over as he did his sit ups......I was too light!!!! Can you guys believe that!!!! LOL!!! He gave up and got on the floor to do his sit ups!!! LOL!!! Sandra 255h/242s/201c/165g

April 2019 Surgeries!
I Am Groot replied to CajunSam's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Another update: My sleeve was on the 4th and my first follow-up was today. Everything went well. The incisions are healing nicely with slight oozing in one and my first NSV - my blood pressure has already dropped from prehypertension levels to normal. My surgeon seemed surprised by my burping complaint. Thankfully, it's getting better each day. Now, only if I could chew something. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using BariatricPal mobile app -

Steph - I agree w/you - Dr Janet AKA Mom - thinks it may be blood pressure too - but again I don't have a license  I don't eat perfect all the time but I do most of the time but again - I don't have a DH and house full of kids and I don't like fast food - never did.. Kari - Yep your stuff isn't boring it's your life - I report boring crap every day all day... I just post what's going on - you guys are my DH If I remember correcly Car is from France??? or some place over there in europe... Congrats on your NSV !!!! - Now take your wedding set and get them sized... Steph - Men - eat rocks and die - I think men have it made - we work come home take care of kids house cook - the just eat and but their feet up.. . That's my girl !!!! You should have seen the smile on my face when I saw that you had Posted this morning :cursing: Peer Pressure - I have pple telling me to eat more toO - I just look at them and laugh... I eat normal (well a little on the small side) portion sizes.. I eat 3 meals most days (maybe not on the weekends) I eat snacks every night - that includes a sherbet ice cream cone.. Also, most of these pple telling me to eat or making statements that I eat like a bird are over weight themselves - so what the heck do they know about eating healthy... I know what works for me - Yep I will have a taste every now and then but if it taste too good (like that banana cream bread at my gf house a few weeks ago) I just say HELL NO - NO MORE !!! As I said last night you know we are all here for you and we will get you thru this... You know what needs to be done - and you deserve to be healthy - You deserve to feel good about yourself - their is nothing wrong with having pride in your accomplishments - You have every right - you are a valuabe person and their is nothing wrong with putting yourself 1st Never ever deprive yourself of good-tasting food, even if it has more fat and calories than "safe" diet foods. If you refuse to eat appealing foods that you really want, you will feel deprived and crave them. Then you are vulnerable to bingeing. Remember Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden? The one food they were not supposed to eat was the one they could not stay away from. Until you have achieved some balance and perspective, stay away from temptation. Don't go to all-you-can-eat salad bars. If ice cream is a binge trigger, don't keep it in your freezer. When you want potato salad, for example, or rocky road ice cream, go to a sit-down restaurant and order a single portion, ideally as part of a balanced meal. By doing so, you accomplish three things. You avoid depriving yourself. You avoid the urges to binge created by deprivation, and you also learn how to integrate normal food into a reasonable and healthy meal plan. When you do feel powerful urges to binge, postpone the act for thirty minutes. Surely you can wait half an hour. During that time think about what is going on in your life. What stresses are you facing? What is missing right now from your life that you need in order to be happy and avoid the looming binge? Make a list of things you could you do instead of binge eating to deal with your situation. If you are truly committed to recovery, at least some of the time you will choose one of these healthier behaviors instead of binge food. Take charge of your life. Stop using words like, "I wish," "I want," "I hope," and "I can't." They are weak victim words. Say instead things like, "I choose," even if you are choosing to binge. Say, "I will," . These are words that express responsibility, power, and control. If you can choose to binge, then by implication at some future time you can choose NOT to binge. and then choose a healthier and more effective way to deal with whatever is going on in your life. Ok the above is about relapsing - I read that you can't have recovery without a relapse - it's normal - we aren't going to change our habits in just 1 yr - this is no diff than any other addiction it's going to be a lifetime battle for us - we do have to keep our guard up alway... Hugs - Off to work... CBL

Salsa - It's the other way around youth has more patience than us oldies - but that said - now a days the youth want everything right now - were as when I was a kid - we worked towards things and didn't have instant gratification... But guess I do have more patience than I think I do - When I look at my over all weight loss since July - i am very happy 55.5 lbs - I can't beleived i was so fat before... It's funny thing - you know you are fat but don't really see yourself as fat as you are - but then when you lose weight you don't see yourself as thin as you are. CONGRATS ON 192.5 :clap2::clap2: I know we have no competition here - but I feel so good at being right behind you with me being 24 yrs older than you.. it's just proof that us oldies can do it too :scared: Oh back to earlier - I think it was Jackie who wants updated photos Great idea - my grandson too one 10/27 which i felt very pretty but he never sent to me - so gotta check w/him and wil have him take another one - i have to great NSV - one - size 8 ring is now on middle finger cuz it's too big for ring finger - two -- i bought a dress for the party i went to on 10/27 - (orderd it online) it fit me like a sausage it was WAY too tight - tried it on last nite - and it almost fits - sit a tad tight - but another 10 lbs and it will fit.. Well, needed a break - gotta get back to work - ck in later J

Good evening ladies. It's late and I'm sure you are all in bed. I'm just settling in for the evening. Kari, I love the term "God smack" and so appropriate. Too funny. I wish he'd smack me a little more often. Awesome NSV though. You've got to be tickled with that one. Phyl, what an absolute darling. My MIL is anti-crew cuts. I think they are the most adorable things you can do to a little boy but she pleads with me every summer not to buzz their hair. I can't do it to her. Aggravates me though because I think she's being completely irrational. He's cute though....you are surely very proud. SSankofa that sounds like a pretty good exercise log. I like the idea of walking right after you finish eating. It's a good way to keep yourself from taking those last few bits. I'll maybe have to try that. There is no way I can eat after I walk. Drink Water maybe but no way am I putting food in for at least an hour. I'm not sure about the food...a lot depends on your portion of stuff but there is no way I could eat a hot dog, 3/4 of a burger, some pork, and then add mac & cheese. Today I couldn't even get 3/4 of a grilled snack wrap at McD's in. My NUT says to consider a cup all you can eat. ... and a cup is about the size of an average person's fist. I know everyone's guidelines are different, just thought I'd share mine. I like the fist analogy because when I dish my plate I can compare it to my fist and decide whether I'm over doing it. I did horrible on the veggies and fruits today though. I really need to get it in gear. I need to get back to tracking on dailyplate.com because I do a lot better when I track. Have you tried that? I'm a little addicted to technology so I think it's kind of fun. Okay....I'd better get to bed. I can't sleep in tomorrow because I'm reading at church. I'd hate to be all bleary eyed for that. I'd be so embarrassed. Oh...forgot to give my stats for the day. liquid 75 oz. Food, grilled snack wrap, 1/2 taco salad wrap, two tootsie roll midgies. Going to get some kashi with blueberries in before bed. Exercise, walked the 5k route....from home it works out to be about 4 miles (I have to drive it to make sure) and ran about 1/2 mile of it total. Wii weigh in was great but official weigh in isn't until Monday so I'm not going to jinx myself by adding it. Still don't know if I'm going to make it to size 8 before MofA trip but I'm going to fight for it. Okay.....goodnight ladies. Have a great Sunday.

I see I'm the late night contributor once again.....lol That is ok, it seems it's the only time I have to get on the computer without interruptions! I appreciate reading about the different experiences with having a fill.....at first I felt nothing, several days later I start to feel a little restriction, but not enough to cause me to pb or slime, I'm confused on how this delayed tightening works? Any one have any explanation? I'd appreciate it! Chim - Thanks, any small NSV gives me a good feeling. Good luck with your weigh in and fill next week!! Lindaa - Glad your ring was found!! I'll be glad to get my 10 year anniversary band in a whole new smaller size (a year and 1/2 to go...) distant0098 - that sounds a little unhealthy to me. I was told that with a fill I should still be able to eat solids as long as I chewed it well and took small bites...I'd check with your doctor about it!! Lynette - Congrats on getting rid of 30lbs. for good!! You are so close to being under 200 I'm jealous.....and look forward to the day when I can share that wonderful news also.....good for you!! Citygirlnks - This is as good a place to vent and whine! I'm a 47 year old student who is heavy, so I can relate in some ways to your feelings. It's difficult to not be chosen for what you bring to the table, but by how you look, it's just not fair, but just keep thinking what you will be like a year from now..........good luck!! I return to the University of Washington this coming week to start my final year....yipeeeee......I'm looking forward to getting back into the work world and having the money to spend on a new wardrobe!!! lol

Karri I wore colors & patterns even when I was 2X - I love bright colors - and I do have a lot of black too. but always had some color - heck I have a size 18 pair of red pants.. Now that you have tivo - tivo what not to wear or 10 yrs younger or how to look good naked - all these shows will help you on how to dress now.. Great NSV on the heal pain - I had some of that - off one blood pressure med still have one - but that was my only medical problems - Hangovers - like having the flu - bad headache some people get sick & throw up - me - I just want to eat & sleep and drink tons of water or juice or soda. Drinkings ok - I have sure done my share in life - but can get you in some sitituation that you might not have gotten into if you hadn't been drunk - I am a social drinker - I don't come home at night and have a cocktail - where as alot of people do. It's a good think you aren't a drinker You don't like Ice Tea - I drink that alot in the summer - and OMW i need my caffeinee in the morning - in fact I could use some right now.. I have drank 2/3 of my water - i need one more bottle to get it all in - so that shouldn't be too big of a problem. Well, I'll ck back when I get home from the gym around 5:30- 6
