This past weekend I participated in a 5k obstacle race - Warrior Dash. I had so much fun. I completed ALL of the obstacles and the course in 52 minutes! I even think I could have done it faster but I had my kids running with me and didn't want to have them running the course alone incase they got hurt. I did the Jailbreak run back in September and thought I was going to die - I didn't complete all of the obstacles back then either. Now I am so ready for my next mud run!

NSV Alert!!! I bought a dress 2 years ago and wore it once with it being VERY snug, well, I put that dress on yesterday and not only did it fit but it was a little big. I LOVE MY SLEEVE (even though I get frustrated with it, I LOVE IT)

I need to start keeping track of all my NSV's because I am having so many, and loving it!!! Last week I was at the grocery store at the end of my street, the one I have gone to for about 7 years now, and a woman that works there came up to me, and said, "WOW, you have lost so much weight!" That felt so awesome to have someone notice outside of friends/family. Then, I was at the pet store yesterday, and a lady who works there, that I haven't seen for a while, said the same thing as the lady at the grocery!!! At the pet store, I said, yah, I have lost SOME weight (LOL), 119 pounds. I went on to get my cat food, and the woman that was walking to the check out, I could hear her say, "did she just say she lost 119 pounnds??? That is amazing!". I got in line and that woman was still there and was like, that is great you lost so much weight, are you maintaining well now. When I told her I had 85 more to lose, she was like, NO WAY, haha. I have only gotten that response from friends/family, so it felt good hearing it from someone I didn't even know. I was just like, "well, you don't know what I weigh". I can see WHERE I can lose 85 or more pounds! Even if I lose that much more, I will still have a high normal BMI. Anyway, we will just see where I feel best. And then my last NSV to share, was inspired by someone on here that I saw just post a recent pic of themself in their "big" jeans. So, I went and got mine out, and could fit in to one leg as well!!! I tried to take pictures, but none turned out of me in one leg. But here are a few pics of me from today with my "big" jeans. The jeans are a size 32, and I am currenlty in a 20, even some 18/20's and my top is a 2X I just bought!!! AND, OMG! I am in shorts!!! Not an NSV, but a scale victory, that I needed to share. I finally broke my 3 week stall!!!! WOOHOOO. And, I lost 5 pounds this week. I offically weighed in at 250 pounds! So happy!!!! Here is a slide show of my journey from begining to now, in pictures, if anyone would like to take a look : http://smilebox.com/playBlog/4d6a51784d7a59324e6a673d0d0a&blogview=true

Your life will get better every day and when the NSV and the weightloss happens. You will be soo glad that you did this for yourself. It is very life changing for the good.. -
I have battled high blood pressure for about 10 years, starting in my early 20's (scary to start so young) and in the last 5 years had it moderated with diet and no meds. It was averaging reading of 130's over 90's and pulse rate was usually in the 90's. The past week I've been monitoring my BP and it has been averaging 110's over 60's with my pulse rate in the 60's!!!!!! One reading was even 108/52......AMAZING!!!!!! Thank you sleeve, lol.

After looking in the mirror today and seeing how baggy my size 20 jeans were getting, I decided to try my 18s and THEY FIT! They're a little tight around the tummy area but who cares?! A couple of weeks ago I couldn't even get them to button. It's nice to see my hard work pay off even though the scale didn't move this week!

Today I am officially out of the 50s for BMI and I fit in 2x size scrubs again! I'm almost a week out and I am amazed at all the changes! I feel lighter and happier! Yay!

I had a great NSV today. I saw my aunt for the first time since being banded (15months) and she had the best reaction. I walked in the house, and her jaw dropped, and started crying.

Thank you Dave, was wondering the same thing. Now I'm longing for NSV of my own. Wanna

What a lovely NSV... your story made me smile too... congrats on an amazing start. I am sure with your positive outlook that you will reach your goal!!

Non scale Victory. When something good happens that isn't about what the scale says. Things like compliments from others, fitting into an airline seat, crossing your legs without cutting off circulation, sitting comfortably at a restaurant booth, and such. NSV's happen when you least expect them, but they really make you feel good. Dave

MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!
MarcyLoo replied to MarcyLoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks guys!! I had a NSV yesterday too. Went to see a movie and fit in the seat It was still snug, but I was in the same theater about 6-8 weeks ago and it was a BAD fit then...had to really wriggle to get sitauted. Yesterday I could sit down from a normal standing position and not have to squish my butt into it. It felt so good!!! -
Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share my progress so far with my sleeve. I started my weight loss journey with a lapband at 286 pounds. My band leaked, slipped, and broke apart in my body. No fun and it never really worked. I had my revision to the sleeve on December 27, 2010. One of the best days of my life! So far, I am down 47 pounds in three and a half months. I feel amazing and I am so happy! A few recent NSVs. I made it to ONE-DERLAND! I went to a wedding, was gone for a weekend with no calorie or carb counting, and I LOST two pounds. I have to shop in the "normal" section of the store and I still can't believe it! Sleeve life is great! Don't hesitate if you are thinking of having the surgery. I LOVE the sleeve and you will too. I can't wait to finish my journey and make it to my goal. Here is a before and after pic.

Surgery is Monday, and like everyone I've seen post right before I'm both excited and petrified. But today I had a small victory, and in an odd way it's incredibly comforting. I'm down more than 30 lbs pre-surgery. I didn't have to do a supervised diet, but have been following strict diet instructions since I started the testing process back in early February. So...my kid brother passed away in June of 2009 of a heart attack at aged 43 - obesity runs in our family. One of the many things I brought home with me from the funeral was a favorite T-shirt he wore a lot. I've never worn it, because it never fit me. Kid brother and I were close, and I miss him so much I'm tearing up typing this. Anyway, this morning I was thinking of him, wishing I could call him to talk about how I'm feeling. I pulled that T-shirt out of the drawer and hugged it like I have several times since he died. Then, inspired by I don't know what, I pulled it over my head. It fit. I'm wearing it now. Good omen?

I second that Tiff I went shopping for the first time in years and I shopped at Tommy Hillfiger, Old navy the gap and all the awesome stores that don't sell anything over 2 x . It was the far best NSV I could ever hoped for no more shopping at the fat person section at walmart..lol

One of my best friends (who does not know I've had surgery, who NEVER gives compliments, and is brutally honest as a rule of thumb) announced last night, and with no prompting "you know I looked at your wedding photos last night, and your face is almost as thin now as it was then!" Possibly an odd NSV, but I've been married for 8 years, and although I felt like I was massive on my wedding day, I've been nowhere near that thin since, and when I fist had my consultation about WLS, my goal was to get back to where I was then. I really want to be one of those people who could say 10 years on that I held back time and still fit my wedding dress perfectly. Well I'm 6lb off now, and of course I don't want to stop there, but somebody noticed, and said the right thing, which was just bliss!!! :D

Here recently I've notice little NSV's: My honey can now pick me and up and twirl me around! When I drive, I have to pull the seat almost all the way up! I can know cross my legs and sit indian style with no effort. I did a three mile walk/hike the other day and didn't feel tired or any pain. I can sit on the love seat with my honey and not be sitting on half of his lap. Life is good.

Shopping is soo awesome. I went from a 4x (only could get them in certain stores) to a 2 x and now I can go to malls it is soo awesome..I guess I like shopping for myself when I can actually find the size with out going to the big and tall mens store..YOu have to love nsv"s . It has been a blast soo far. The only bad thing about it is I don't have anymore money to buy clothes.
