coolness metal! my most recent nsv was NOT having to ask a stewardess for a seatbelt extender the last time i flew down to houston from maine. that rocked, as well as being SIGNIFICANTLY more comfortable in the little tunacans they label as coach seating. another nsv had last night. went over to friends house for dinner and drinks. i sat down in a chair i never would have dreamed sitting in six months ago. i would have broken it. not this time. not even a squeek.

I went to go see my doc yesterday...since I have been lifting weights I have had a lot of pressure in my port. They said everything was fine but I am not convinced. Does anyone know how you test to see if your port is flipped????? The scale is not being nice....even w/ me doing liquids for almost 2 days I have gainned a pound. I am not worried because TOM is almost here. NSV.....my DH has this bench that he does incline sit up on....but I have to sit on the end because he will flip over w/ bench and all. Well I sit there and count for him.....and I have been doing this for months for him. Well yesterday I sat there like I always do....and the bench kept trying to flip over as he did his sit ups......I was too light!!!! Can you guys believe that!!!! LOL!!! He gave up and got on the floor to do his sit ups!!! LOL!!! Sandra 255h/242s/201c/165g

HELLO Everyone!!!! I sure do miss this place when I can't check in and post. Had to out of town on business and no way to check email etc. Everyone seems to be doing well. I am just taking it one day at a time. I need to be better about exercising, gettin in my water most days. Hot tea (de caff) in the evenings now seems to be my favorite thing. Helps to get the fluids in and helps to stop the TV munchies (if you know what I mean). NSV - went shopping for some new pants yesterday. I bought a size ----drum roll please ------------ "8".......... I know I could not believe it, I asked the sales lady if maybe they were sized wrong. She said No. They are a little tight, didnt care, put them on when I got home and just strutted around the house. I sure can be silly sometimes. Sandra - you are doing so GREAT. My family and friends do not know about me having the band, and they have noticed that I eat diffrently also. They try to push food at me, they just don't understand...... I have not room for it, and if I force it in, they will get it back (in a way they might not like) LOL Take care all Laura

Hello All, I have had a couple of NSV's that I need to share: I no longer snore...my family would always give me a hard time about it. I would be afraid to go away on girls weekend because I thought that I would keep people up but its now gone!! My boss gave us all down jackets the other day with the company logo on it..... he gave me a mens medium (only mens sizes) and it fit perfectly....no awkwardness on his part or mine because of my size! I also fit into a size 14 jeans (stretch) but they are a 14!!! My 16's still fit but I am on my way to 14!!! One scale victory....I weigh less than my husband!!!! Thanks for listening....my family sometimes doesn't get the little things that excite me because they have never had weight issue. Please post some NSV.....I get excited when I yours too! (wow, that sounds like its all about me but its not meant too) Should we start a NSV thread for us amayzing bansdsters???

NSV for me!! I managed to easily put on a NON-stretchy pair of NON-Lane Bryant pants in my closet. They look fabulous as long as I am standing up J Sitting in them is not pretty or bearable but it will come with time. I was just happy to be able to put them on without tugging or sucking my gut in! I went to a support group last night that had the potential to be a really good thing but one loud mouthed know it all ruined it for everyone else. I have never been so irritated in all my life. I wont say much more for fear of her seeing this!

OK...I have a rather goofy NSV. Did you know you loose weight in your nose too? The other day I put on my glasses that I wear for work and the nose piece was riding on the bridge of my nose, I thought I had bent them. Then today I put on my other pair...same thing! I guess my nose got skinnier (LOL), I had to pinch in the nose peice. I suppose you loose weight everywhere, but I never thougth I'd shrink out of my glasses!!! LOL LOL LOL

Cindyluhu- It could just be a difference in the scale. Start fresh in the morning! Raysbabe- You look AWESOME! Totally different person. All- I got my 3rd fill today (2.1 in a 4cc band). She told me to stay away from liquid protein except for the first 24 hrs. after fills. I thought I was doing bad because the scale hasn't moved in two weeks, but I had lost 7 lbs. since three weeks ago. NSV- I went shopping with thin Hubby yesterday.........he had a smile on his face the whole time. He just kept telling me how pretty I was and how proud he was of me. It was so sweet! That was honestly the firsttime I have felt pretty in a long time. I used to get depressed shopping. This time it was fun!

Sandra-I hope your son is okay, please keep us informed. Laura-Congrats.....your going to be a grandma!Yipee! Mellisa-you are going to be a beautiful bride....the dress size does not matter! Tom- I have not complained about the TOM (time of month) ever since you put me in my place and I knew there was a male on here....I am sure you do not want to hear about every little cramp!!!! Mini and Cindy- you are both such good cheerleaders, keep it up I love to read your replies! Now for my NSV- I went to a meeting the other night with some people from my industry that I have not seen in a while. The first 3 people that I spoke to said "wow, you look great!" They all noticed the weight loss! I was so confident after that...its amazing how uplifting that is....

Thank you Sandra.. I've talked with her a bit more about it...and told her once things calm down a bit we will re-evaluate the situation and go from there. I'm starting to feel better... meds are working... Husband is still getting on my nerves but at least now I can tolerate him! NSV!! NSV!! NSV!! This morning I got out of the shower...and could fit the entire shower towel (regular size) around me!!! I called my husband in to see... he didnt seem nearly as thrilled with it as I was.. oh well.... We're off to Dave and Busters with the kids... Everyone have a great Sunday!
  13. OMG I am doing this too and didn't even register it as a NSV - just thought 'why have I been sitting so far back before?' and moving the seat gradually forward! Also tall although not quite as tall as you kcuster83.
  14. I can’t believe I haven’t really thought about this NSV until now, but now that you mention it, I remember that I used to go through so many pants because of wearing out the inner thighs. I haven’t worn out a single pair of pants since I’ve been my current size (about 2 years)!
  15. 2 NSVs to mention. 1. I just got my annual labs drawn and the lab has those chairs with the padded lap bar that comes down, presumably to contain surprise fainters. The last time I had labs drawn, maybe 7 months ago, the bar rested on my stomach and couldn't come down all the way. Today it came all the way down and there was room to spare. 2. I'm a side sleeper and at my highest weight, my hips were so wide that my body was kind of a slope and my top arm would fall down with my shoulder pressing into my neck. Now, not only is my arm horizontal and not choking me, but my elbow is dipping down into my waist. I don't find this comfortable, but it's definitely a victory. I'll be experimenting with pillow placement to deal with being poked by (still very buried, but now detectable) hip bones.
  16. Not exactly an NSV, but it was still a bit of a shock for me... This weekend I went camping with friends, and we bought a 25kg (50~lbs) sack of firewood. At one point, we said we were going to carry it between 2 of us, but when the time came to do so, I decided I could carry it by myself. Slung it onto my shoulder and started walking towards our campsite (less than a block away). About halfway down, I just STOPPED.... I just realized I was carrying the same amount of weight I have lost so far. Knowing we were planning on carrying that between 2 people, or how tough it was to carry it for just a block... it made it so much clearer why it has been so hard for me to go hiking before. PS> I’m doing a lot better while hiking, and am planning a short solo trip this Saturday!
  17. Back with more NSVs and LOVING reading all of yours. Here we go: I am fitting into the smallest "skinny pants" I bought back in June. When I bought them I couldn't get the zipper even close, but today I am wearing them. My mom is at my house rehabbing and I am giving her a lot of intensive round-the-clock physical care. There is no way I could have done this without the weight loss I've had. I have so much collarbone and a lovely visible jawline. I can't stop looking at them every time I pass a mirror. Space between my toes. I can cross my arms across my waist and still fold forward, in fact it turns out that without a big belly in the way this is a very comfortable position. I can also cross my legs or sit on the floor in a resting position with one leg comfortably crooked up into a bend. my balance, it is so much better.
  18. NSV… happy with the way I looked for my husband’s 35th high school reunion! I didn’t feel old and fat as I would have in the past. Plus this was a few weeks BEFORE my tummy tuck and thighplasty. About 1.5 years after WLS and down from a 2x to a size 4.
  19. First off, AWESOME boots! Secondly, I had a similar NSV. Mine were riding boots, though. (I ride horses). ❤️
  20. Nothing weird about this one, just a regular NSV, but still a milestone for me. I got into a standard size AU/UK 16 (US 12) pair of skinny jeans today. I have not worn a size AU/UK 16 in at least two decades. Go me!
  21. I made it through the day yesterday dragging my saggy butt through. I'm glad I had easy patients and a few open appointments. I went to bed a little early last night and joked with my husband about trying to avoid urges to get up in the middle of the night to shower and do laundry. I do not think there is a cure for some of my dim-wit moments and there is no warning before they happen. I think I have just learned to accept them and move on. It does help that I can laugh at myself. It helped when my long time patients told me how great I'm looking. I've had some great NSV moments lately. On Tuesday I ran into my old neighbor. He lived across the street from me for about 15 years before we built our new house and moved. I could tell by the look on his face that he didn't know who I was for a moment. We stood and talked for a bit. I could tell by the way he was looking at me that he was noticing I looked very different. I told him how much weight I've lost. He said, " OMG, I wasn't going to bring it up unless you did, but I didn't recognize you at first, then I knew who you were." Yesterday I had a very dear long time older patient. I think she is in her late 70s. She told me the weightloss is very attractive on me. It is these little NSVs that really help my spirit stay boosted...... saggy skin and all.

Melissa Exactly. Before I would have eaten the whole "whatever", whereas now I'm satisfied with just a few of something. Oh, and I love that saying, it is perfect. Oh, NSV, I went out and bought a pair of size 16 jeans, (I was a very tight 20 before, I probably should have been a 22 but I refused to buy them). The Size 16 jeans fit great, and I also bought a pair of Size 14 to look forward to. I just hate to spend a lot of money, knowing that soon (hopefully), I'll be moving into yet another smaller size. It was at the point though that I had to, I looked like a clown! I'm not complaining at all, mind you! I love it, keep it coming. The band is my new best friend! Cindy
  23. Hello everybody! Things are going ok here. Im at 64 lbs lost but I havent lost anything in a few weeks. I know its my fault- I am so addicted to sweets right now its not even funny. I HAVE to stop eating that stuff and get back to my low carb eating again. But I do have an appt on the 7th for another fill since I am able to eat more than I should. I think I only need a small fill so Im looking forward to getting back to things. I am having some acid reflux issues though. Are any of you dealing with it and if so what meds do you take for it? On a positive note I have had several NSV's! Im fitting into clothes that I havent worn in 6+ years! AND I saw a friend this past weekend who I havent seen since last December or January and she told me that she didnt recognize me because I had lost so much weight. That was an AWESOME feeling! Motivates me so much more now! Anyways...hope all is well with everybody!

    How about some NSVs!?!?

my toddler and i just got back from the indoor playground. besides having tons of energy to chase her little butt all around, my nsv is how cool it was to be able to squeeze through all the little holes and tubes and obstacles. she's only two, but she be fierce, so instead of the toddler area, we ventured to the big kid area...it was huge and sooo fun! i happened to catch a glimpse of myself climbing out of this teeny tube, so i'm squatting, really (cause it still hurts like anything to crawl around! i don't know how babies' knees don't hurt!), and i just easily crawl through. that alone just blows my mind...i'm so little! love it!!
