November 09 Knockouts! Check in here POST surgery! :)

skinnygirl, sorry for the delayed response...I agree that we all should share all the do's and the don'ts!!! I have had 3 fills to get to the 5 cc's..I have great restriction now. I see my doctor every month regardless if I need to or not..which I like! I will start with the bad..I use pineapple juice if I get stuck..which has only happened 4 times. The pineapple juice works wonderfully..relief within minutes!! Exercise...I walk and I walk daily..that and chase my 2 year old son around. Once the weather gets a little warmer I will swim. My doctor pushes walking and I agree with him. I am starting to carry hand weights but that is it. I do like to ride bicycles but my husband has a bad knee so we don't do that as often as I would like. Diet..I am not a morning eater (just how I was raised) so Monday-Friday..protein shake--Myoplex Lite 20gr protein...Sat & Sun omelet (I have more time to make it). Lunch Tuna or Chicken Salad either made with mayo or cottage cheese, cheese, egg & relish with a couple of crackers or 2 pieces of cheese rolled up in deli meat or salad. For snacks I eat Chobani yogurt or SF pudding. Now for dinner...the one thing that as soon as got off of mushies after surgery I committed to myself and my family was this was a lifetime committment not a diet. I prepare dinner for all of us quite similar to before being banded only I eat a much smaller portion. I also may make it a little more healthier. I can eat pretty much anything..I haven't tried steak..but..last night we had BBQ Chicken, tator tots, green beans. I had..2 oz of chkn, 1/4 cup of green beens and 3 tator tots and was full. My family was thrilled and they were able to put on more BBQ sauce if they wanted..mine had the flavor on it. I also have found some different recipes that we have tried..we vote on them..some we make again..others we don't. I hope this helps!! If you ever want to talk you can reach me at dsmith16@tampabay.rr.com

November 09 Knockouts! Check in here POST surgery! :)

Soexcited - I'm totally with you! I only had to do one week of pre op and lost 9 pounds. Since surgery (2 weeks tomorrow) I have only lost 6. Well 6 one day. 4 the next. I have been going up and down 1-2 pounds for past week. I realize I have added mushies, but I am still eating under 900 calories a day and exercising.... so I'm not sure why I'm not losing. This is my typical day: 8 AM: Protein shake (160 cal, 15 gr protein) 11AM: 1/4 cup canned chicken w sprinkle shredded cheese or 1/4 cup chili (120 cal, 10-15 gr protein) 3PM: Protein Shake (160 cal, 15 gr protein) 6PM: 1/4 chili or 1/4 cup canned salmon (80-120 cal, 8-10 gr protein) 9PM: protein shake (160 cal, 15 gr protein) That's 710 calories and 60-70 gr of protein. I may have a 1/2 cup of oatmeal or yogurt on mornings when the shake doesnt "do it" for me, so maybe an additional 50 calories.... I think I'm going to email the nurtritionist and see what's going on. Maybe I need to UP my calories....
3. Hi Happy! I have 4.5cc's in my 10cc band now. How about you? how many cc's do you have? I got my 2nd fill just this last Monday and have done OK the last 3 days I have not been feeling hungry till around 2 or 3pm today I had a yogurt for breakfast, a iceopure for a snack, about 4 oz of turkey meatloaf for lunch a stick of 60cal cheese for a snack and then for dinner I had chicken & cottage cheese. How are your food days? What are you eating? My problem is STILL night...candy still just slides on down!
4. I was sleeved 4/18/11 by Dr. Jawad in Ocala, FL. Not sure exactly what I have lost since each scale weighs different, but including pre-op diet, around 25-30 lbs. , maybe 20 of it since surgery. When I read what you are doing, first of all, make sure you gets tons of Water. Sounds like you are good on Protein but is it high quality and low carb? I love Jay Robb--too many of the shakes are full of chemicals and artificial ingredients and simply unnecessary carbs. Jay Robb is really tasty and mixed easily with anything and comes in lots of flavors. Sweetened with Stevia, a natural no calorie sweetener, but does not have the aftertaste of some Stevia sweetened products. Plenty of availability--on line, Vitamin Shoppe etc. And, you may be like me--I have always succeeded best at weight loss by varying calories, protein/carb content, and exercise intensity. Read up on interval training (going hard for a few minutes then backing down, over and over). I have added some full fat dairy because it is actually beneficial to blood sugar and weight loss to a point. Greek yogurt is usually packed with protein, and mixes well with the Protein shake powder I use. Don't get discouraged. Throw yourself into it, get off the couch, and record what you are eating and doing to keep moving. I am humbled by your great success to date, and know you will experiment with some of these suggestions you will find the combination which tricks your body into letting go of this comfortable plateau and finding a new, healthier one.
5. My name is Jenny and I was originally supposed to be banded on August 24, 2010, but due to my doctor's family emergency my date got changed to August 25, 2010. I went in for pre-registration on August 23 and they told me to be there at 12:30 pm the next day for my surgery. There were 3 other people in the pre-op room with me. Myself and another woman was getting banded, one was getting revision because her port had flipped and another one was getting gastric bypass. I undressed. I had to take off everything and I mean EVERYTHING! put on my knee high compression stockings and non-skid socks and the gown. One of the nurses took my vitals and she attempted to start an IV on my right hand and beforehand she told that their hospital prefers to inject numbing medication (lidocaine) before attempting an IV. So, she injected lidocaine and it burned so much when it was injected and then she put the IV in and moved it all around, fumbled around for the vein, took the IV needle out half way and shoved it in again trying to get blood back flow. She then said sorry again and tried my other arm on my forearm, injected more lidocaine (it burned again) fumbled around for the vein (it hurt) told me sorry and took out the IV. Then the head nurse came in explaining that her policy for the pre-op room was that every nurse got 2 chances and 2 chances only to try to put an IV. So, with saying that, she, the head nurse, attempted another IV on my left hand, injected more lidocaine and got the back flow for the IV (FINALLY!). By this time it was already around 1:30 pm and the anesthesiologist had come to speak with me to explain his part of the process in the operating room and he asked me if I was nervous and I said yes so he asked the nurse to give me something to put me to sleep. I feel asleep fast. Then I woke up like an hour later and was told that the doctor wasn't going to come in til 5 pm. It was 8 pm by the time I decided to get dressed and leave the hospital to reschedule for another day. I left. I thought maybe him not coming was God's way of telling me that I wasn't ready for the surgery yet. But then I got home and I cried to my mother and brother that I should have stayed. Then at 10 pm the doctor called my mother's cell phone apologizing for his lateness and that he would go ahead and do the surgery tomorrow morning and that I would be the very first one in the operating room. I got too excited and said yes. So the next day I was told by the doctor to show up to the pre-op area at 7:30 am and the IV was quick this time. It was 8:30 am and I was finally wheeled into the operating room. Being wheeled away from your family is one of the hardest things ever! I was wheeled into the operating room and they told me to scoot myself onto the narrow operating table and I was looking up into the bright over light they have and I think that's when I wanted to jump off the table and run back to my family. Instead I felt my eyes get all misty. I wanted to cry but I held it together. It's just really creepy being in that operating room and you being in a very vulnerable state. They covered me with a warm blanket. It was too warm. I don't like being covered with blankets ever because I get hot easily and I think I was even trying to shrug it off of my body. Then they attached the arm portions to the operating table and spread my arms apart and strapped then down with a pad that felt cool and gelatinous to the touch. By then I was already feeling drowsy and I could feel myself going under anesthesia. The next thing I knew I was in recovery with a oxygen mask blowing oxygen 100 mph into my nose and mouth. I wanted to remove it but I was told not to touch it and I obeyed. It was so so very very hard to try to keep my eyes open. My lids were so heavy but I felt that I needed to make myself open them because every time I drifted into sleep with the oxygen mask on I felt like I had stopped breathing...so that made me very scared (of course I didn't stop breathing, it just felt that) So I fought off the sleepies and kept my eyes open and finally after a while I won the battle and eventually I was able to take off the oxygen mask. When the nurse took off the mask she told me to try to keep taking deep breathes. I tried but I was still kind of drowsy and drifted into a second long sleep and my respirations would reach below 94 and that's when the machine would start beeping. So every time it beeped I took a deep breath and my respirations would climb back up to 97 or 98. After I got that down I started to notice that my mouth was bone dry to the point where I would gag because it was so dry. This freaked me out. I hate having a dry mouth. So I asked for a wet sponge and my nurse brought a cup with ice cold Water and a sponge and wet my lips and my tongue and it felt like the most wonderful thing in the entire universe until she took it out and placed the cup and sponge on a table behind my bed so I wouldn't be able to reach it. My mouth started to get bone dry again and I freaked out again and I had to ask another nurse for the sponge and I opened my mouth expecting him to wet my tongue, but no dice. He just wet my lips. I made sure not to ask him again. So finally I saw the anesthesiologist and he was peeking into the curtain of the patient next to me and I waved him over and I asked him if he can give me the cup of ice cold water and the sponge and he did. He gave it to me in my hand, the cup and the sponge and I swear if was physically able to yell out "I LOVE YOU" to him I would have. So I felt a lot better that I had control of the sponge now and I constantly wet my lips and my tongue when needed. And I guarded that cup like it was my most prized posession. After that I felt between my legs and noticed a pressure there and found out I had been cathed. It felt weird and I just wanted it out and I was told by my brother who is a nurse that once you tell them you can get up to pee on your own and you actually do it then they'll take out the cath. So I told my nurse I wanted to pee on my own and she took out the catheter and I was helped to the bathroom by a male nurse. and OMG I Peed! on my own! I went back to my area and the male nurse that escorted me to the bathroom told me to sit on the recliner chair so I did. but he opened by entire back side of the gown but by this time I didn't care what was showing. He would open it so I wouldn't have to manuever myself to get the back of the gown out from under me thus me causing unnecessary pain to myself. So I sat there and I asked for some pain meds and the pain went away quickly and I feel asleep in the recliner chair. And then they woke me up and took me to x ray so I can drink some liquid in a little medicine cup so they can track it going down through x ray. The stuff was horrible and it was a small amount but it took forever to finish because it was so horrible. but at the same time I was thirsty and my mouth and throat were so dry that I was thankful for anything to drink even if it was that horrible stuff. I was done with x ray and taken back to post op to my recliner chair and I asked my nurse if I can go home now and she said that they had to wait for the results of the x ray. I just wanted to go home already. It took an hour and a half to get the results from the x ray. Everything came out fine and then my nurse told me I could go home but to just give her about 30 more minutes so she can bring me some "food" and explain the LAP-BAND® rules to me and to schedule my follow up appointment with my surgeon/doctor. She brought a tray that had chicken broth, a bottled water, a popiscle in a cup that was half way melted and some Jello. I could only take 2 very small sips of water and one smaller sip of chicken broth by the time I was done. I didn't even touch the jello or popsicle. So then my mom was in the room with me and the nurse explained the rules and told me I could get dressed to go home. They took out my IV and the male nurse who escorted me to the bathroom about 3 times adjusted my stockings and told me to keep them on for a couple of more hours because his wife had to wear them too and that they helped her. He closed the curtain, I changed into my exercise capri loose fitting pants, and a dark t shirt cause I didn't want to put my bra back on because of the incisions. I came out with my pink crocs, my white compression stockings showing, and my high water capri's and my nurse laughed at me telling the others to look at how cute I looked. I guess I looked funny. I didn't care. I just wanted freedom! By this time my mom had left and I was escorted to my family and I got into the car and we drove home. When I got home, it was a completely different story. I took a nose dive. I cried and wailed. Crying out that I had made a mistake and that I wanted to go back to the hospital to get the band out. I couldn't drink any water at all or any liquids for that matter. I cried and cried and felt like I had committed the biggest mistake of my existence. My family got real scared. They had never seen me react that way. I cried for 3 days and I was really depressed and wanted the band out. I think it was the fear of not being able to drink anything at all without feeling pain. My thinking and reasoning were irrational. I started looking up "how long do you have to wait to get your band removed" on google" I did this for 3 days and I was completely determined to have my band out. The reason I was freaking out and wanted it out was because I could not, it was not physically possible for me to drink any liquids whatsoever plus I needed to take my liquid antibiotic and liquid painkiller. If I couldn't take water down then I was I going to get my medicine down? The antibiotic was 2 tsp and the pain killer was 3 tsb. It doesn't seem like a lot but it was. I took me 40 minutes for me to drink my painkiller (and without water cause water meant more more liquid I couldn't take in...which made it worse because the taste was just horrible) The next day I wasn't crying as much but I still felt that same restriction. I couldn't take water down plus my mandatory meds. So I googled the same thing again and cried again, and I was particularly attached to my mother and brother. I would not let them leave my side for nothing! I begged that they stay with me because I was afraid to by myself. So my mother laid in my bed with me while she watched her novelas and I cried and stroked her arm telling her not to leave me. She missed work the next day to be with me. The 3rd day I didn't cry until the evening when I started taking my pills for all my comorbidities. I had to crush them in applesauce because it was the only way I can get it down. So I started crying because the applesauce hurt going down but it was the only way I could take my crushed pills (I first tried crushed mixed with water and it was horrible to even get it down because of the taste) So I cried and my brother who is a nurse was already annoyed by me and by my irrational thinking and reasoning that he sort of gave it to me straight and told me "WHAT"S WRONG WITH YOU?" and him just yelling at me made me cry even more and I backed into a corner like a wounded animal and he said "look at you!? you're backing into a corner like I'm going to hit you!" I cried more and felt like no one understood me and the pain that it took for me to sip water or take my meds. The next day I was a lot better and didn't cry anymore. Today is the 30th and I'm doing a lot better. I'm not depressed anymore or crying. I'm back to myself again. Laughing and joking with my family. Those first 3 days were horrible and I don't know what came over me but I felt as if something else, some other force had took over me. Looking back I don't even know who that person was. Like I said, I'm doing a lot better 5 days post op. My family is especially happy that I'm back to normal. And now I can sip liquids like I could before I got the band. well, not has much intake but enough to keep me satisfied and happy. I've been on the clear liquid diet for 4 days...i was told to do 3 days but decided to do 4. This morning I moved onto full liquids which includes, sugar free pudding, yogurt without granola or fruit pieces, or seeds, and cream of Soups, and cream of wheat...I ate pudding today and it felt like I had swallowed a burp with my pudding, it didn't hurt but it there was some discomfort but I decided to eat it more slowly and it's getting better. I'm on the full liquid diet for 2 weeks, then I move on to pureed for 4 weeks, then soft foods for another 4 weeks, then finally regular food after that. I mapped it out on my calendar and i'll be done with my food stages on November 7. By telling my story I don't want to scare anyone out of getting banded. I just thought that I would be honest on what happened and what I felt the first couple of days. Please, know that it does get better with time. The pain starts to subside, the soreness goes away, and you'll be able to take in a little bit more liquids then you think you can (just not too much). I also cried on the 3rd day because I had to start nursing school on the 30th and I was a wreck thinking that I wasn't going to be able to go to school and I was just going to end up crying all the time. Today was my first day of school and it was no big deal. Everything went well. I didn't drive myself though. The most annoying thing those 3 days were getting in and out of bed, the soreness in my neck and back, and arms. Also, I'm a belly sleeper and I've been having to sleep on my back and cautiously sleeping on my side that doesn't have my port. BENGAY really helps with the soreness a lot!
6. Can anyone tell me what they are/were eating at this point in a full day? I am on Full liquids which includes the Clear Liquids plus I am allowed the whey Protein shakes, strained LF creamed Soups, thinned oatmeal or cream of wheat, SF or non fat greek yogurt, thinned ricotta cheese, diluted juices etc. In my notes and notebook I cannot find out how often I am supposed to eat or the quantities (other than stop when you feel full), just what I am allowed to have. I know about the Fluid requirement which is always the same...64 ounces. I can't say I am ever feeling hungry (other than a little head hunger) or full and even when I sip liquids I have a little bit of discomfort, not really pain just like an internal churning feeling...and my tummy growls a lot all of the time. So I don't even know what full feels like either...I am just eating a teaspoon or two and then stopping. Thanks as always for your help!

November 2013 Post Op

Cheese sauce on cauliflower is way over the fat grams for me.. We must stay under 3 grams for any food and under 5 grams of sugar! But there really are many products that meet that need! I went to cott cheese and eggs, yogurt after day 7 due to the "runs ". Bummer but the new foods have corrected that with every change up! I have lost 45. # and am now having my second stall ( first lasted 11 days! ???? )

To eat or not to eat! LOL!

@@Nikki Monroe its a great question. I feel differently than those who have already posted, which is one of the things I love about this site. I do not like artificial stuff in general, so I stay away from the Dannon and Yoplait "greek" yogurts because they are not really greek yogurt and are full of thickeners and other artificals. I choose to have a few more carbs with my yogurt and sometimes have chobani, although I prefer fage because I do not want cornstarch, I want yogurt. All "greek" yogurts are not the same. True greek yogurt is extensively strained to get the whey out which then leads to thicker, more condensed yogurt with more Protein.... Yoplait (and others) are not true greek yogurt as they use additives and fillers to thicken the yogurt, so if you are concerned about getting true additive-free yogurt, check the label for things like guar gum and pectin, carrageenan, sodium citrate, potassium sorbate, corn starch. I know this doesn't matter to everyone, but it did to me when I learned so thought I would share. I personally eat Fage, which as no fillers, additives etc added. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2013/10/04/6-myths-about-greek-yogurt/

To eat or not to eat! LOL!

I add granola or kashi Cereal to my greek yogurt on the days I work out, since it's my last snack before my workouts and the extra carbs help fuel me. But I just buy those separate, measure them out into little containers, and add them when I eat my yogurt. I agree that the added texture is really nice, plus it's a little more filling, since there are some solids in there.

What Are Your Must-Have Foods?

I had an interesting realization the other day. I realized that although I continue to love vanilla Oikos yogurt, I also like other kinds of Greek yogurt that I had been avoiding due to my Oikos vanilla habit. It was actually a bit of a pleasant surprise to consciously recognize my “need” to stock up on that one flavor and brand of yogurt and to realize that other brands and flavors would be fine in a pinch…so I don’t need to waste energy being anxious about running out of my original preference. But still, there are foods I won’t go without, and to make sure I don’t, I stock up on them. I always have yogurt in the fridge, blueberries in the freezer, and tuna in the pantry. Some of us are naturally more inclined to stock up than others, but being on a strict meal plan like you are on after weight loss surgery makes it seem more important than before to insure you have the foods you need in the house. Otherwise, you might find yourself reaching for some regrettable alternatives…like potato chips instead of carrot sticks, or ice cream instead of yogurt. What are the snack foods you need to have around your house (or car or workplace)? How many of them do you feel the need to keep around? Do you stock up whenever they’re on sale?
12. All doctors are different but mine allowed super free pudding, yogurt, and soups like tomato, any kind of cream soups ensuring they were strained or puréed for lump. One of my favorites was cream of potato with a sprinkle of cheese and real bacon bits puréed in a blender.

April 2019 Surgeries!

I have trouble with the protein shakes as well. I bought the unflavored protein isolate (I like the isopure unflavored whey protein isolate) from Amazon. For 1 scoop, you get 25 g protein. You can add it to anything. Yogurt, soup, smoothie, cottage cheese... I sometimes make my own shake with 1 scoop protein, 8 Oz either skim, coconut, or almond milk, a little vanilla extract, a tsp cocoa, sweetener, and a couple ice cubes... Have to wait a few minutes for the foam to settle it, but the protein powder has no flavor or aftertaste. That is my go to rescue to get the protein in when I'm struggling.

July surgery

How long are you on liquids post op? I ate popscicles, yogurt mixed with soy milk, creamed soups mixed with extra soy milk and put through a blender, snowballs (chopped ice) with sugar free syrup,
15. My doc said to consider the "mushies" as anything you can smash with a fork, but she wants me to stay away from carbs like mashed potatoes. I've been having cottage cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs (which I normally don't like) but I cook a little mexican chorizo and add to my eggs - yummy!, tuna/chicken, and salmon. I made some yummy salmon in the oven and it was easy. I don't normally like it much but used some lemon and light butter spray...it was pretty good. I found some at walmart in the fish section, there have bags of 4 frozen salmon fillets for only about 5 dollars, which isn't too bad. My mushie stage is only a week, so I don't have to do it too long. I really like to use Mio in Water. It's drops you squeeze into your water for flavor - like Crystal Light - but liquid. My fav is the berry pomegranate but they have lots of flavors. I'm not a huge water drinker either, and it really helps me to get my water in.
16. HI all, back finally! good to read the comments. Miss Joany, I hope your infection keeps getting better! eat lots of live yogurt while you are doing those antibiotics. So I am curious, doing a bit of a survey. sort of long. Just curious about some of this stuff howdy there. so I'm taking a poll, let me know. I hope you all are doing well. 1. how many cc's you have in your band 2. do you feel you have restriction- what does that mean for you? 3. are your calories tending to stay below like 1600 (or what are your calories generally.) 4. what is your weight loss like. 5. are you hungry between meals. 6. are you exercising, and how much 7. how much water are you drinking? I'll start. 1. how many cc's you have in your band
4.5 from OCC. I'm planning on going back, for 1 more fill, maybe depending on what people say with restriction about how they feel. But it won't be till after the holidays.
2. do you feel you have restriction- what does that mean for you?
last week, there were things that I felt were cool, like I would get a tiny nasal drip, and I took that as a soft stop, and I wasn't getting hungry between meal. I feel like this weekend I ate till I felt very full, and never got the nasal drip. this was the first time since my fill. so maybe that sign is not happening. I will see today if I get hungry between meals, if I'm able to keep at 1200 cals per day, and not feel hungry between meals I will be happy with the way things are. we shall see.
3. are your calories tending to stay below like 1600 (or what are your calories generally.)
generally yeas, below 1300-1200. but I don't count everyday, I also do some days where I just do what Miranda said for portions. I feel Sunday I went over my goal. but I didn't count, I need to get better with keeping track and knowing even when my schedule is strange.

4. what is your weight loss like. I've lost all the weight plus 1 lb that I gained from Thanksgiving weekend. I started 298 I am now 266 my surgery date I was 280 so since surgery I've lost 14 lbs in basically 10 weeks. that is not my goal, I'd really like 2 lbs per week, would still be happy with an average of 1.5 per week. I'm at 1.4, I guess with the holidays in the mix maybe I should still feel happy. but I would like it to be more, of course.

5. are you hungry between meals.
I feel I am mostly not hungry between meals, as time goes on since my fill, my hunger has increased between meals, but I am still able to deal with it, with my yogurt or piece of fruit, which is part of my daily food plan and staying under 1200 cals. so I am ok with that. Once I went to bed, and my belly was grumbling. but I drank some water, I abated and I fell asleep. 6. are you exercising, and how much this has not been that good this last week. I have a goal to walk somewhat briscly for a mile each day. This is 20 minutes of exercising a day. I'd like to add to that, but haven't yet. and last week durning hunting season, I did not walk at all. 7. how much water are you drinking? besides exercise this is a huge obstacle. I am trying to drink 64 oz a day, I am pitifully below that. If I could drink during meals I could jack that up. but I don't so I need to increase this a lot.
17. The only thing I had complaints about this week (just sleeved Monday) is the hiccups. They hurt and quite frankly wish the gas would come out the other end. I believe it would be far less painful. I passed gas like the next morning after the surgery. I am eating my sugar free pudding, jello, and yogurts and hard to get all the water and protein in. Only my first day on solid liquids though so some tweeking will be in order for the rest of my menu for the next 3 weeks. Over all I am feeling great. I was so worried and it was for nothing. No pain at all. Good luck everyone.
18. So I have struggled with a plateau for about 4-5 months now and I know that it is (mostly) my own dang fault; I've always been an excruciatingly slow loser but in the last 6 months I have stopped being true to my super-low carb/high protein/low cal diet. On the one hand, I justify it because I am committed to eating healthfully and reasonably and that means not living the rest of my life on a diet. Sounds good right? But, I think I'm toeing the line of making excuses, I let myself eat M&M's, bread, soda!! Grrrrr. Today I am having a Protein shake, 2 eggs, greek yogurt with a spoonful of jam, lots of hot tea sweetened with stevia, and probably a caesar salad w chicken for dinner and maybe some hot quinoa and a tiny piece of chocolate. That sounds ,,, bad? good? cheating? Does anyone else struggle with the psychology of this?

November 09 Knockouts! Check in here POST surgery! :)

I had my surgery 11/17. Was on clear liquids Wed. and Thursday, then moved to full liquids, which really helped the little bit of hunger I was starting to feel. I am just taking it kinda slow. There is no way I can eat the 1/2 cup of yogurt or sugar free fat free pudding im allowed! Am already loving this band thing...lol I feel a good amount of restriction. Its probably due to swelling, but hey, ill take restriction any way I can.... Pain wise, im doing well. A little pain when getting up from something low but other wise not bad. Never have had pain in the stomach area, just in the port site. Goin back to work Monday, but I have a desk job for the most part. Got my pedometer ready to walk on my breaks.. MD says work up to 2 miles a day asap! Well... off to get 1/2 cup of decaf coffee..... Everyone have a blessed day!
20. Erin have you tired yogurt? The Dannon light and fit Greek yogurts are good, high in protein, low in sugar. Also cottage cheese or re-fried beans (fat free). I hear ya with the treats, it's like a candy factory in my house with all the kids stuff. I really want to go out to dinner tonight too!
21. Erin, I just tried to c/p my yesterdays logged from online, but didn't work. I've only been on pureed for two days now but my yesterday was Breakfast - protein drink (unjury), morning snack - greek yogurt, lunch - re-fried FF beans with TB of light sour cream on top, dinner - On the GO size cottage cheese. total of 60g of protein, and first day I got over 500 calories at 520. Before yesterday with starting the new stuff, I was having 2 protein shakes and the yogurt to get in the protein. Things I'm getting ready to try are vegetarian 99% fat free chili (and puree'ng it), poached eggs (not until I've done more pureed foods), soft cheese, and super soft fruits. Hope this helps!

Revised band to sleeve 12 days ago... mini freak out

That's kind of the weird thing (hunger). I've learned after all these years that apparently there is a difference between head hunger and actual need for food. My head keeps saying "you should be eating something" and "a cheeseburger sounds amazing" and today "go to taco Tuesday" lol. But my stomach, it's just not wanting any of it. I have not truly felt physical hunger at all since before I had the sleeve surgery 17 days ago. Weird! Because I kind of don't trust my hunger-meter accuracy at the moment, I'm trying to stick with a routine to make sure I don't get dehydrated or malnourished. Every morning I have a protein water with a vitamin greens powder mix, gets most of my key nutrients in right away. Then mid day I'll have a protein shake with a banana and some nonfat milk and a little peanut butter in it. Mid afternoon I'll have a snack maybe yogurt or jello. Evening I'll make myself eat something like puréed soup. Then in the evening I take my chewable multi vitamin. So far that's been working ok. If I get ambitious enough I may try blending tuna and mayo like tuna salad, but have not tried yet.

Hi Morgan! I was sleeved on 12/4 so about same timeline. Does milk bother you? I drink Fairlife ultra filtered, 13g protein per cup and lactose free (I was having issues with lactose post-surgery). Also Oikos triple zero Greek yogurt has worked well for me-15g of protein, sometimes I will blend with unflavored protein powder, milk and ice to make a shake. Good luck! Sleeve date 12/4/17 SW: 318 CW: 290
24. Thank you! I also said the same thing about cheese... i will change anything! ... except the cheese that's one part of me i will hold on too [emoji23][emoji23]. I'm sacrificing alot more for a healthy life. I also dont care about yogurt so i'm not going to include it in my diet at all... i prefer to save those calories for cheese when i'm able to eat it. When you say plant based.. what exactly did you buy that's plant based?

I tried about 12 days out (purée) and it did not go well. I'm having lots of luck with Greek yogurt or puréed lentil soup and vegetable beef soup, good flavor and it's very liquid. I'll try tuna again later this week, I knew after one tiny bite it was a no go last time.
