  1. Congratulations! Aren't all these things worth everything we went through?! I love this kind of NSV!
  2. Today was a grand day. I cleaned house ( including furniture moving) all day and didn't even get tired. My kids were playing in the toy room, when my 4 year old daughter hurt her finger. While hugging and kissing her booboo better, she hugged back and practically yelled, " mom!! Look!!! I can touch my hands together when I hug you!!! I haven't seen my best friend since surgery ( about 3 months). She didnot support me in my decision for wls so I didn't want her around until I was fully healed and able to eat well enough in front of her. I finally got the nerve to ask her over for dinner. Her hubby ( also my hubby's best friend) was flabbergasted!! He just kept complimenting me. She never said a thing. Which is fine. I don't need her to say anything. It was nice to be normal around people and NOT have them ask Oh!! And yesterday I ran for 10 straight on the treadmill!!! Yay!!!

    Picture NSV!

This afternoon my fiance went to a christening for his cousin's daughter. We took some pictures and after looking at them later on I thought to myself "Hey, I don't look half bad!" It's amazing I actually let myself have my picture taken in the first place because normally I hide from the camera at all costs. Definitely an NSV for me!

AWWWWWW SOOOO SWEET! Hey and kids say it STRAIGHT UP with NO FILTER HAHAHAHA! So that was an AWESOME NSV! CONGRATS!!!
  5. This little girl made my day! I am a manager at a 'tween' girl clothing store. As I was helping this sweet, 11 year-old, she said to me, "I like your shirt! Did you get it here!" I just smiled and said, "No Honey, but you're sweet to think I can wear these sizes!"
  6. what does NSV mean?

    My greatest NSV

That is an awesome NSV!!! Congrats!!!!!!!! I hope you get to take that trip with the kids soon!
  8. What a week! Well I have had an exhausting week! I went back to work on Monday! OH BOY! I have so much catching up to do (Paperwork)! I must tell you how nice it is though; I went back to work and the folks (developmentally/intellectally challenged) were so happy to see me! They showered me with hugs and kisses! It made me feel so good to know I make that much of an impact on their lives! I am so happy to get back into routine and I missed work so much! It is just great to be back! So let's get to business! This pic over here on the left is me last week! I took this pic and was amazed at what I saw! I was looking at this pic and feeling proud of all the things I went through to get to this point! Going through everything I did... it was a HUGE eye opener! It really makes you cherish life for what it is worth! I went to the Lung Dr. this week! I have a major NON scale VICTORY (NSV)... I am no longer on my inhalers for Asthma! This is HUGE! HUGE!!! My numbers are excellent! My Dr. could tell I was exercising cause my pulse and blood pressure were much lower than they ever had been! I am so much HEALTHIER! That is all I wanted out of all this! To be Healthy! Guess what.... I AM! I must tell you how much I have missed "FOOD"! I am stickin to my healthy lifestyle though and making good choices! I am actually eating a meal! Not a few bites; A MEAL! I am still trying to stear clear of the Carbs!!! Those are my worst enemy! Cause I love them oh so much! I have been walking! EVERY DAY I walk! I am now up to 3 miles a day! It takes me about 45 minutes to walk! But boy it feels GREAT! I love the rush it gives me; the way I feel after! It really makes me proud to know I can walk 3 miles! Then I come home and do a bit of resistance bands for some toning! I am getting into a great workout routine! This week was my first week really doing this on my own again! Back to Weight Watchers! So I really thought I would have gained because of the amount of food I had been eating! I lost .6 this week! I keep thinking to myself it is better than NOTHING!!! But I guess because I was so used to the big weight losses every week, I was a bit bummed! I feel good though! I am proud of myself! A total of 89.4!! Wooo Hooo Well I hope everyone is doing well! I have been so busy I am really falling behind on blogging! I haven't read blogs in about a week! Shame on me! Well till next time! Take care and stay healthy! ~Mandy

    NSV

Hi, I'm new here. My name is Melanie. I had surgery Feb 2, 2010.last night I was at a PRE wedding party and after reviewing the pictures I was actually happy with the way I looked.this was a total victory for me.
  12. What great NSV's! You must feel great! Way to go! Those last pounds will be gone in no time!
  13. I've noticed the same thing with some foods. Unfortunately, I'm occasionally not as smart as you and I have to take a few bites trying to convince myself that I still "love" the food. I guess my NSV would be that I've recently learned to let it go after a bite and not liking it. It doesn't always happen, but I'm working on it. Congrats on your successes! Amanda

    NSV

I am feeling really good about myself this morning. I have had more energy in the past two weeks than anytime I can remember. I have been able to do yard work, clean my house and go to the gym. Also, I went clothes shopping for the first time since my banding. My shirts were getting way too big. I am in a XL shirt and size 16 pants and they are a little loose. I went to a discount store --no sense in buying high price clothes. Really feeling good....what a nice treat!!!

Hey FindingMe - thanks!! I kept a lot of old clothes from way back 20 years ago. Levi's are my absolute favorite jeans - no doubt about it. I have some super cute Levi's that I outgrew those 20 years ago and I always wanted to get back into them. Some are size 13's and some are 14's. I'm just now starting to fit into them, and those are such an achievement... I seriously started to think I'd never be able to again. Now these are back in the day before random and vanity sizing - so it's quite the accomplishment!!! Hi Knee, welcome to the BEST support website you will find for the VSG! An NSV = Non scale Victory - for all the wonderful things that accompany weight loss, that is not defined by the scale. HTH

  23. WOOHOO!!! What an AWESOME NSV week!!!
  24. I'm fairly sure most of y'all can relate so I thought I'd share this weird NSV. Today, we were running around the house, getting ready for my husband's orthodontic consult, we're also buying a house, and our home that we rent is on the market so the listing agent showed up unexpectedly without notice, just pissing me, and making my crazy, pregnant hormonal self all in a rage. Anyway, so in the craziness, I threw on some clothes, and forgot deodorant. You're thinking big deal, right? Well, the issue is we live in hot/muggy Florida. The thermometer in my truck said 90 degrees. I got in, started backing out of the driveway, and realized "Crap, no deodorant". My husband was like "great, stinky winky at the dentist". Best advantage to not being fat is I didn't sweat or get sweaty/icky in the underarm department ! ! ! Pre-op weight would have had me sweating profusely, and stinking to high heaven within 10 minutes. We were outside all afternoon, walking around, picking up pine cones in our yard, and not once did I sweat or get stinky ! ! !
  25. awesome NSV's!! What a reward!
