Well. I had my 2nd fill on Saturday. He did it under Fluro and I ended up getting a BIG fill. He put in 2.9ccs so now I have 7.9 in my 10cc band. I was supposed to be on luquids all this week, but I have failed miserably. I made it 48 hours before I had to eat something. I've been trying to stick to mushies, but today I had a little bit of grilled chicken and it went down fine. (Thank God!) I think I'm going to be right where I need to be with this fill. I was satisfied eating less than a tea-plate sized portion. (YAY!!! ) In other news, I have lost 40 lbs since surgery day!!! Such a big deal to me! I'm so proud of myself... I get teary just thinking about it! NSV wise I've dropped 2 almost 3 dress sizes and cleaned out my closet which was bittersweet. I can't wait to see what happens in the coming months! How's everyone else doing?

MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!
Lady_Dragyn replied to MarcyLoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I had my first actual NSV (except for the usual donating of clothing) since surgery. It seems a little crazy to me, but I was so happy. I got out of the shower and wrapped the towel around me (like always) and it actually fit around me and overlapped a bit and covered me like it was supposed to. Now mind you it's still one of the big ones, but it fit! it fit! it's been 15 years since that happened I was pretty happy. So glad everyone is doing well. We will all be successful. We have to be -
Thanks. It is the little things I had no idea how much the weight was holding me back physically I can even cross my legs again. Had a funny NSV the other day. A friend's dog jumped on me the other day, Shadow has jumped on me before but I use to weigh more then him now I weigh less and the silly boy almost knocked me over.

I've been almost stalled for nearly a month, losing 1/2 to 1 pound a week. Frustrating as heck but I haven't been too concerned about it. Maybe I'm replacing fat with muscle mass, I hope so anyway. A month ago I bought jeans size 22 when I had been wearing size 26. I walked into the living room tonight and said to my hubby, "Look at this." I gathered up about 4 inches of fabric on the outside of each pant leg. He said, "I noticed the other day that they were loose. Why aren't you wearing your new skinny jeans??" I told him, "These ARE my new skinny jeans!!" The look on his face was priceless! I guess I'll be shopping again soon.

December 2010 Bandsters out there?
size10again replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah for you! I weigh less than my hubby now, too and am so happy about that! Looks great, except where are your fruit servings, lol? What a great NSV! How tall are you? I am plugging slowly along. I guess I am basically maintaining/up a bit from my 2 deflates. I don't really feel like I have a band at this time. I miss getting and staying full easily but am thankful to have this time for my stomach to heal from the vomiting I was experiencing. Someone at work today said I was getting skinny! Ha, I said I have lost weight but am far from skinny! I notice the heavy women at work who know I have been banded "checking me out" to see if I look differently! Have a great week, Joan -

A lady I hadn't seen in a while was surprised at my weight loss. She said I looked great. I told her I had 20 lbs to go and she couldn't believe it. It was nice to hear. Of course she didn't see all the fat under the clothes. Lol.

Lady_Dragyn checking in - stayed the same - no + or - = 275 Did have a NSV though - seems silly, but it's been a long time - my bath towel actually wrapped around me and met on the other side all the way down! Yay me! It was one of the big ones, but I'll still take it.

Congrats! That's great news for you! I think being healthy again is the greatest NSV of all! -
Oh wow, that is a NSV I really want to have. Congrats, it is the little things sometimes that makes this forum so awesome to keep coming back to.
-
Yay Fern for your nsvs (which are both way cool), but WTH is up with your "best" friend????? I meant it's one thing to have concerns before the surgery, but come on to be like that 3 months later, what is up? I'd hate to have a best friend who didn't support me in something to improve my health and quality of life. I hope she comes around soon!
-
Wow, that is amazing, and such a great view. I can't even imagine how accomplished you feel. Congrats on your NSV.

@raine Well I have been heavy since I was a kid, if I'm completely honest here I would have one of my greatest NSV's if I ever get to where some woman is checking out my butt! That would probably get even me to cry lol. @kemo, You wi my friend! You gonna be in great hands, and the losers bench is gonna welcome you with open arms. Keep us posted! When is your date again?

Major NSV -- 4.5 Months Out -- Great Health News!
Kris posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
A little over a week ago I saw my primary care physician for a checkup (actually saw the PA but that was fine, it's not like I even know my PCP as I only see her once in a blue moon). Anyhow, I brought along the XRays of my sleeve from Dr. Aceves and told her about the surgery. She didn't even know what VSG was so I had to explain it to her (I never told my PCP I was going to have the procedure before I went to Mexico). She seemed happy with my weight loss and didn't make any negative comments about me going to Mexico (which was good, as that would have really upset me). She ordered a battery of blood tests, which I had done early last week (I hadn't fasted prior to my dr. appt. so needed to come back another time). I got the results on Thursday, and to my delight, everything was within a normal range. In 2009 (last time I had blood tests) I had elevated fasting blood glucose -- not quite high enough to be confirmed for diabetes, but higher than the normal range (normal range tops out at 99, I was 110, diabetes is 125 or higher) -- basically, pre-diabetes. And my blood pressure was higher than normal, too. Well, this time my fasting blood glucose level was 85, right smack dab in the middle of normal! And my blood pressure is normal too (it also had been elevated -- not high enough for meds, but higher than normal; this time it was 118/80). There was not one area where my blood was not within a normal range! I am only halfway to my long term weight loss goal, but one of my major goals/hopes for this surgery was to have my health issues resolved, and I am thrilled that they really are! I feel like I have already added years onto my life. Even if I never lost another lb. (which I don't think will be the case), I consider this surgery to be a success because it has really, measurably, improved my health. I am SO thrilled with my sleeve!!!! -

Great weigh in today, loaded with several NSVs...I finally broke through my mini plateau by losing 4.6 lbs this week (in the end, it just took patience and increasing my exercise a bit). For the first time in over 21 years, I weigh less than my husband and just to put a big old cherry on top, I am now no longer morbidly obese (my BMI is now 39.8). I'M SO HAPPY!!!!! -
Feeling Great about Losing Weight!

That is awesome!!! Wor-what a compliment! I am sure your husband is so proud to introduce you to everyone! I read in your other post that men are holding doors more often. I, too, found that when I was thinner (7 years ago) that I had a lot more doors held open for me. I can't wait to experience some of these NSVs too! You go girl!!! -
I LOVE NSV! Congratulations on your 150 lbs loss!
