We had some friends over the other day on a day that was close to 90 degrees. (Memorial Day) I knew it was warm but I was very comfortable and certainly not hot at all. I felt fine all day but I could see everyone else was hot and when I hugged my daughter's boyfriend when he left he was very sticky. I told my husband he is going to have to tell me this summer when the air needs to be turned on. Bummer for everyone else but nice for me especially after freezing all winter long.

Korilynn ~ Awesome NSV!! I'm sure you feel and look great! I've been wearing clothes from the smaller sizes in my closet (I'm still trying not to spend a whole on new clothes just yet). It feels both awesome and odd to pull on jeans that I distinctly remember not being able to wear comfortably and now have them be so baggy. LoL. Congrats again! JPT ~ How are you doing? Are you able to eat better? What's your favorite Protein drink? I'm always looking for new ones, since I get bored of the same old things. I still drink Lean Body for Her (chocolate is my favorite), Muscle Milk Light (chocolate), and Click Mocha, but I bought some RTD (ready to drink) Premier Protein shakes to have on hand at work, since my days lately have been INSANE -- I'm not crazy about them, but they aren't the worst and their counts are good. Plus, as RTD shakes go they were fairly inexpensive (about $16 per dozen at Sam's Club) -- 30 g protein, 3 g fat, 5 g carbs, 3 g Fiber, and 160 calories. I try to drink one shake a day (usually replacing Breakfast or lunch) and do meals for the other days. Since my second fill, I'm having more mini-stuck episodes (you know that feeling when you've taken too big a bite and it sits in your chest). I haven't thrown up, but just get up and walk around taking sips of Water until it goes down. Totally a horrible feeling. Question for you all -- do you eat only 3 meals a day or do you snack? I find on days when I work out hard, I get a bit hungry afterwards -- so I have a shake or a small snack (low carb crackers with cheese, Protein Bar, etc.). My doctor really doesn't want his patients to snack, but there are days when I think I need it -- and I'm still adhering to 1200 calories a day as best as I can (some days a little under and some a little over). Also, any of you low carbing? Hope everybody is doing well! Keep in touch, and have a great day!

Way to go!:cheer2: I cannot WAIT for that nsv.

MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!
MarcyLoo replied to MarcyLoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know I haven't lost a ton of weight yet, but I'm wondering if I carry myself any differently? Or present myself differently? even before losing any I've always tried to walk with my head up and smile, and for some reason I seem to have more people smiling back and acknowledging me? I;ve heard this can happen when peoplelose weight. Anyone else taking notice to any such thing? I know my face has thinned out. I've gone down about 2 sizes, but I know I'm still very obese. I did have a big NSV yesterday! I stopped at walmart after work and took notice of their cheapie rings...I would have looked for a size 10 before, for my left ring finger and my RIGHT is almost a size larger. I saw a really pretty blingy ring so just had to try it on my right finger (I never wear anything other than my wedding ring and have used these cheap rings at my heaviest as a wedding ring stand-in but am back to fitting my real ring). Anyway on my right hand I fit into a size 8. Fnny how little things like that can make our day huh? Yesterday was a bad day for me. I got into cookies and am afraid I ate about a weeks worth of calories. We BBQ'd for memorial day and I was so excited to eat chicken that was super moist...and it came back up. I think it's the first time eating in front of people other than my hubby where I had to make a run for the bathroom. Since this last fill/unfill I'm really having to chew and watch what textures i eat. I might actually need another .1-.2 cc removed but I want to try to work with it first. So, today is a new day and I'm moving on from the cookie binge. It's a sad day here, too, so I need to be really careful of stress eating. The kids left the front door open too long yesterday and one of our cats took off. Bromley is just a year old, and we're really attached to him. He has a total of 29 toenails, 7 feet, and is the neatest cat with such a great personaily. We adopted him in the short time we lived in Virginia and he drove back hoem across the country with us. We just lost another cat a few weeks back (in the country with coyotes). I know there's a chance Bromley will come home, but it's been almost 24 hours and I'm afraid he's become a snack. I'm actually not a cat person, but Bromley owns a little chunk of my heart and I'm devastated. I feel partly responsible because I brought home a new puppy as a house dog, and Bromley hates him. I'm afraid that's why he's been gone so long...and every minute he's out the risk of coyotes is that much bigger. Sorry to ramble. -
I was shopping at Target this weekend. My wife suggested we browse the men's clothing section. I caught a glance of myself in a mirror and my 40in waist pants looked baggy in the seat. I mentioned this to my wife and she said "I know. That's why we are here". I bought a few pairs of 38in pants. I started my weight loss in tight 46in pants.

My wife and I decided to take advantage of a child-free weekend and go see the Hangover 2 at our local movie theater. I bought our tickets and we made our way into the theater. We selected our seats, right near the top as close to the center as we could and we sat down. It was then that I noticed something unusual. Something did not quite feel normal. Oh I know what it is, we did not have our hands full of snacks, popcorn, candy, pretzels, and soda. Hmmm, while that was true it was not the certain feeling I was trying to place my finger on. Then it hit me. I was sitting in the seat with the center arm rest down and my arms actually on the rest! What a different feel from the rolls of my belly being pressed against and flowing over top of the arm rests. That was worth the price of admission. Now as for the movie, if you've seen the first one, don't bother. It's the exact same movie.

Hi there, I am scheduled for my surgery on July 1st (revision from lapband to plication) so I can answer alot of your questions. Two questions: 1) What is NSV? no scale victory - 2) Does anyone have extremely serious regrets for having the surgery? well even with having to have a revision on my band - I don't regret it - lost 170 lbs - gained back 50lbs due to an enlarged pouch - but will have the plication and get back to my lowest weight in no time. Hope this was helpful. Donna in Seattle surgery lap band 3/2003 - scheduled for plication on July 1st with OCC TJ 310/145/200 and counting down again!

I am scheduled for my sleeve on July 5th. I have been reading for hours on this forum and it is encouraging. Two questions: 1) What is NSV? 2) Does anyone have extremely serious regrets for having the surgery? I have seen few if any negatives in these conversations. Thank you,

Congrats to you! What a great NSV even before surgery! I love getting rid of old, big clothes- it feels so rewarding. Although sometimes I have a hard time with some of my favorites and I just have to think of all the new favorites that I will be able to buy- and how much cuter they will be! Good luck to you as you continue on with this journey!

So I stuck with m y routine today and did 30 on my elliptical. I really kicked butt and when I was done I was so out of breath I had to lean against my wall. Total NSV: I could feel my hip bones and ribcage against the wall and my waist did not touch!!!

Now that's a true NSV! Congratulations

Heehee thanks! And to think, I have 2 bum knees. I never thought in a million years I'd be able to do what I do. I've always dreamed of being able to become a runner and every day that becomes more a reality. I think it's definitely one of the BEST NSV's I've had since having my surgery!! You are doing really great pre-op! Do you have a pre-op diet your surgeon recommends? Lots do, I did. Mine was pretty much all low carbs - no liquid stuff... TG!! It was very tolerable. I even lost 9 Lbs, which was excellent! That's 9 Lbs less to goal post-op *YEAH!!!* Take care, and try not to get too nervous, your big day is right around the corner. -
So...is this an NSV? I'm not really sure....so I'm going to put it here anyways. I'm down about 60 pounds from pre-op and feeling great, which in an of itself is an awesome accomplishment. I've noticed though that I'm getting a certain amount of attention from our male patrons at work and I'm not really sure I know what to do with it. Yesterday I was handling billing questions from a guest, when he asked me if he could take me out to famous dave's for lunch. I thanked him for his generosity, and told him that I already eaten. He then looked at me and said "Well I could pick you something up and keep it in my room....you could always come up for dinner later.." and then winked at me! Ummm....okay. I have another male guest who came into the office yesterday afternoon asking for change. I went in back to the safe to get it out, and he proceeded to tell my GM of all people how "I'd like to take that little girl home to momma." He spent the rest of the afternoon walking past my office and staring....he even ran into a door frame he was so busy looking! Not to mention this guy was old enough that he should be hitting on my mother...not me. WTH?!? I'm nowhere near goal yet, and I don't see much of a difference in the way that I look, and while it's nice to know that people think I'm looking better I really don't know if I'd consider this an NSV because the way that these men are looking at me makes me feel like crap. I'm so much more than the way that I look, and all the attention makes me really uncomfortable. That and how anybody could find my work attire sexy is beyond me. I'm still wearing slacks that are WAY too big (I'm a poor college student and am putting off buying a new pair as I'm dangerously close to the next size down from what I am now, and don't want to buy something that'll only fit for a short amount of time), a hideous button down shirt with the company logo, and a black sweater that really doesn't have a shape. All in all, I refer to my work attire as hobo chic (that whole, I don't really care, but I'm not so unsightly it's unprofessional thing...it's a balance, whatever). Alas, I am choosing to pay attention only to the bright side of this situation, and view this as me gaining my old confidence back, and getting my mojo going again! I'm hoping that it's the old addage "When you feel good you look good." Is that how it goes? Whatever. Has anyone else experienced an increase in unwanted attention at work? Best way to go about addressing it without coming off as a snob?

You're doing an awesome job -- and the best part is that the weight isn't the only positive -- you have some awesome NSVs too! Congratulations and keep up the good work! -
Had an AWESOME NSV last night. I had ordered myself 2 pairs of my favorite jeans. I've been wearing a 22, so I ordered one pair size 22 and one pair of size 20. Well, it looks like the 22's will be returned because the 20's FIT! YAY! I've gone from pants size 24 sometimes 26 down to a 20!!! So excited about it! I'm also down to a 1x top - I used to wear a 3x top! I just had to share!

70 pounds already!? WOW! Sweet! Congratulations on the great job you're doing! I love your NSVs!
