  1. Well there's actually two I'm now overweight not obese acording to the bmi calculator and I weigh a pound less then my husband! Woo hoo! I'm seven months post op and just started working out so hopefully my weight will start dropping a little faster and I'll weigh a lot less then my husband for our beach trip at the end of September.
  2. This month marks one year surgerversary for me. I hit goal 8 months ago but it's taken me this long to finally take my rings in and get them resized. I also had them redipped so they look brand new. Have a great weekend everyone. Go Hawks- LA
  3. I saw a picture of myself from behind and honestly did not even realize it was me until I noticed that it was my hair. Also I have a certain, um, sexy-time NSV that I won't share here in public but believe me when I say that there are new and fun things happening in our bedroom.

I have 2 NSV's. 1) I purchased a size 12 tankini to wear on my Florida trip this weekend. 2) When I sit down, I now have that visible 'line' on the side of my legs that defines the quadricep muscle. Does that make sense?

not sure if this is a real NSV but, I signed up for horseback riding lessons, because after years and years I was no longer afraid the horse was going to try to buck me off because i was too fat. new before/during picture for a new month Before (i apologise in advance if the pictures are huge) During (171lbs)

BTW, all... I've got a new NSV. I've gotten two... count'em... two film acting gigs recently, outside of the Farragut stuff! And... I have 4 more auditions coming up in the next two weeks! It is all independent or short film stuff (i.e. no-pay), but will allow me to build up a demo reel to go after paying stuff, and so far, it has all been speaking parts, and leads. I NEVER would have had the confidence to do this last year at 371lbs, and besides, not too many casting calls for huge guys out there... not for good roles, anyway!

Paul - wow!! Great news about the independent film gig NSV thingie! That absolutely rocks! Again, thanks for all of the sweet comments. Trust me, the first day I get carded there will be one very noticable NSV thread on the board! LOL

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Hey mom - don't worry about the whining! I think we are all at a "stuck" point...yourself even more so with your unfill. You will get on track again! Just imagine if you didn't have the band at all - it is there to help you and right now your tool is "broken". Once it is fixed then you'll be on your way again. I gained last month too (8) pounds but it is now coming off again. You're doing awesome. Don't be so hard on yourself. ((((hugs)))) We went to the Georgia National Fair in Perry. We had so much fun, just walking around and looking at everything. It was nice to ride a couple of rides and fit again too. I don't know if ya'll saw the NSV thread - but I was able to go to the ladies room and "Hover"...I haven't hovered in years...yea running and weight loss. I used to have to drag myself up off the toilet (using the handrails in the handicapped room).

    Gastric Bypass Surgery Progress Pictures

Thanks for the positive feedback. I fail to see the differences that others glean from the photos. I see my successes in the several NSVs I've mentioned elsewhere. Only did the photos because my surgeon, my dietitian and my exercise therapist said to try a monthly or bi-monthly set of pics.

Thank you Lapbandit. I'm not really that upset about the 3 pounds. Just a bump in the road. result of having a little too much fun! hehehe. I do have a NSV that I am overjoyed about! I finally weigh less then my husband for the first time EVER! I can't remember the last time I weighed less then my significant other. It's a great feeling!

    NSV For Me

I know this is probably no big deal, but I had to post it. Tonight, I set out to walk my nightly 3.5 miles, but instead I ran the last 1.2 miles!!! Well, I actually jogged and probably very slowly, but it was running to me!!! hehehe I haven't been able to jog for fear of hurting myself (lol) for a very long time now. I'm so thrilled because it wasn't even difficult!! Yeah!!! Thanks for listening, Tricia H

    considering insanity

Well, I know you're going to find out exactly what you need to do to get the weight moving again. Could it be that you have gained a lot of muscle mass, you of course know that it weighs more than fat, could that be it? Sounds like you are very, very active and I wouldn't be surprised one bit if that was the issue. Have you had your total body fat % done? If not, maybe you should be having that checked out as well and weighing and measuring yourself. I know that you have a ton of NSV's, so I know good things are happening to your body. Just a thought. Where did I go? Who am I now?

Oh my god. I was just going thru this the other day! I was thinking.. Ok, people who know me realize that I am looking so much smaller than I was. How I look now is an improvement! So I get dressed in a smaller size and find myself out in public sorely aware that these people don't see the fat woman getting thinner. They see a fat woman trying to wear clothes that are probably too small or the wrong style for her size, etc. I know exactly what you mean!! About the bathroom thing... I went through the same things. *sigh* I also became despondent when I couldn't wash properly in the shower. I was in the process of finding an long-handled soft ended thing that could reach places I could no longer reach. And I was considering a hand held shower head so I could rinse those same places. Now, every time I shower I Celebrate how easily I can wash everywhere! Rinsing is no longer a problem either! I think this has to be my biggest NSV.

Hey all, Had my first fill yesterday, not at all what I expected but I don't feel any restriction at all. I am on liquids until tomorrow and started TOM yesterday so I am of course HUNGRY! I can make it through the liquids and have to wait a whole month to go back for the 2nd fill. Got 1cc yesterday and they said another 1cc next time. I hope this works for me. At least I am down from my initial consult 15lbs. thats a nsv. I was just praying I had lost something from my week post op visit and I had lost 5 lbs. of course I think I am retaining a little from TOM being right here and just starting. I hope so. I want to thank all of you for being an inspiration to me daily when I check these boards. And I am hoping that your advice shows up in the form of a signature at the end of this post! Here's hoping!

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

Stranger - glad you are feeling better and super glad you logged fewer lbs! Welcome ting - your found a great thread. These guys have funny stories, and offer great support and inspiration! I seem to be playing tag with this silly cold, I had to skip yesterday's gym trip and I am sitting out today for rest. I may try tomorrow depending on how today goes. I had a cool NSV of sorts yesterday. I visited my PCP for a re-up on my cholesterol meds and something for this cough. Our Ins is a PPO, so he doesn't know a thing about my banding adventure. So, I finally told him about it. For some history, I know him - he is not just my doc. His wife helped found our local Habitat, she still helps me with fund raising, and I have worked with their daughter on a HFH project. Let's just say I was nervous. He was positively giddy! Can't wait to observe the whole process. Wanted to know why I chose LB over GBS. Apparently, I will be his first patient to go the LB route. And here I thought he was going to give me some big "don't do it" speech. That was a big relief.

hehehe Molly, you're SO right! I bought myself 4 pieces of jewelry. I bought a big snowflake brouche and the addison necklace, a silver angel charm to put on my charm bracelet and the Charm It ankle bracelet. I'm having a party June 21st so I can get some of the more expensive stuff. I had an NSV at the party. I can now wear regular size bracelets! I tried on an 8" and it was way too big. She said "wow you have small wrists!" I said "Nobody has ever said that to me before!!!"

    Twenties NSVs

Congrats Rice guy! It's a great feeling getting to wear your old clothes you'd gotten too fat to wear. I know that feeling. Well here's an NSV I just had. My coworkers have been talking about how skinny I'm getting. Now I know this doesn't seem like a big deal, but I just started there 2 months ago!

    Twenties NSVs

Well I haven't posted in some time. I have had a few NSVs lately. 1. I was able to fly without a seatbelt extender. It has been quite a long time since I have been able to do this. 2. I went to Vegas last weekend and the last time I had been I was at my biggest weight. Last time I had hard time walking everywhere and was always tired by the time I got home. Well this time I walked alot more and was totally fine even in 100+ degrees. It felt great. 3. I bought shorts about a month and a half ago and they fit. 2 weeks ago I had to buy a size smaller. 4. Recently I had to buy a whole new wardrobe. Losing about 80lbs you just cant wear the same clothes. 5. My mom commited to my dad on our trip that I was not focused on food anymore, like I had once been. 6. My mom and I are almost the same size. 7. I had to donate 10 bags of clothes. 8. I was motivated to Clean my whole house. 9. I can shop in Kohls and Jcpennys now. Not just lane bryant or torrid. 1x at kohls mind you. I went from a tight 28 to a solid 22. 10. I have the confidence to wear sexier shirts. Halter tops and I would never have thought to wear those.

    Twenties NSVs

Ok wow I have quite a few NSV's... Stomach no longer touches steering wheel. I've gone from a tight 22 to a very loose 18. My legs don't look like stumps they look like LEGS! BAD NSV: I've lost inches but no cup size so I've gone from a 40DDD to a 38F. My ankles exist! Rings fall off, necklaces fit better, bracelets don't cut off circulation. Sex has gotten waaaaaay better. I can wear a belt! Guys are flirting with me and staring at me. I instinctively am thinking "Oh no do I have something on my face?" cuz I'm just not used to it. I can shop at normal stores again. Still in XXL or XL shirts but come on...I have 38F's lol Even at my smallest I was wearing XL's. I have officially lost 50lbs. (Not a NSV but still a victory) I actually am having choices in what I want to wear, instead of just taking ANYTHING that'll fit. Used to wear 2XL guys shirts, put one on about 2 months ago so I could wear it to school and I was SWIMMING in it. I bought guys 2XL swim trunks at Old Navy when I was at my heaviest. So a few weeks ago I had to go hottubbing and needed some cover up shorts. I grabbed them and I couldn't get them to stay up and they went down to my ankles:mellow:. They weren't an option lol. People in my classes are talking to me. Sad but when I was at 265(at 5'4") they would ignore me. Not even look at me. Depressing when people can't stand the sight of you...how's that for you self-confidence lol... I can somewhat see my va-jay-jay! In the bathtub when I sit down I slide around a lot more lol...my thighs used to touch both sides and kept me in place lol sleeping hurts because my bones stick out more and I can feel the mattress springs I can run up stairs without losing my breathe. And amazingly I haven't exercised or really dieted at all yet. (bad I know but i've still lost and kept off 50lbs in 6 months all by just eating smaller amounts which is a lesson I needed to learn.)

I guess as the OP I should give our little NSV thread some CPR! CLEAR!!! My latest NSV has come about because I work in NYC. I live here too but I used to drive everywhere...ANYWHO. I now take the train to work...the subway. If you've ever been on the NYC train system you know how close everything is. People sit next to me now when they never could before. When I was +300lbs I took up 2 seats and no matter how I sucked it in or held my arms nobody could fit next to me. Now I am just your everyday commuter sandwiched in like a sardine!!! The New Yorker in me hates that, but the Bandster LOVES IT!!! Oh yeah! I now wear a size 14 top and am moving to a 16 bottom!! I can shop in regular stores!!!! Skinny girls ask me where I shop. The always have but now it somehow means more. Come on twenty-somethings lets help each other not get apathetic with our weight loss! CLEAR!!!

    Twenties NSVs

thats awesome laur! I remember when I first fit into my old pair of size 16s; it was such a good feeling not having to lay down on the bed and suck in just to button it. (and to think.... now six months after that NSV i am almost HALF that size?!) sorry you have been feeling down lately. My boobs took awhile before they got smaller.. I still fit into my old 38D bras, but they aren't busting out of them anymore I guess, and I don't have those back fat rolls from struggling to clasp it in the back. Don't get down on yourself too hard! You have to remember how far you've come in such a short time.. and the fact that you are STILL losing weight! it takes awhile for the mind to catch up with the body... believe me, mine is still wayyy way behind. and mrriceguy-- I hope you are proud of yourself for that 3 mile jog! I was only just now able to run 5k a week or two ago... and you are running with more weight on you so now I am feeling like I need to step my game up if I am going to keep up with YOU! and I am sooooo jealous that you went hiking in Alaska. That sounds like an awesome trip.
