OMG IM STARVING.
Jemma1983 replied to willdamanager's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys, my surgery is scheduled for 2nd November and I'm currently on a 2 week pre op diet and I'm also finding it really difficult! I'm allowed 4 pints of semi skimmed milk per day, but I can substitute one pint of milk with one slim fast shake. I'm on day 3 and I'm so hungry! Plus (sorry if tmi) every time I drink my milk I urgently need the bathroom So my body feels completely empty! 11 days to go, and I'm going to stay strong and get it done, especially after reading PorkChopExpress post. What do you miss or think you will miss about being obese?

That was actually one of the things I talked about in my preop psych evaluation. Culturally, black men appreciate a more voluptuous frame. Did anyone else have an easy recovery? I'm getting downright paranoid....
ValerieDee1975 replied to ella37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was super easy too...I still think maybe something is up...the only trouble I had was the horrible constipation the first week....it was AWFUL! we aren;t supposed to strain that early (I had not gone in over a week and I really needed to) and it felt like I was passing a softball...sorry for the TMI....after a call to the on call doc at the hospital in the middle of the night and taking some magnesium citrate, I finally went and felt AWESOME! Really...other than that it was so easy....I still have trouble getting in all my liquids (I get close), but sometimes I am amazed how much of certain foods I can eat if I do it mindlessly.....You are not alone...I healed really quick too.....some of us get lucky I guess, everyone is different. Good Luck!! Val -
Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well on their journey. I was sleeved on 10/03/16 and was wondering what are some of the things you do to prevent constipation..? I had to pass a very hard stool (sorry tmi I know) and I would like to never, ever go through that again! Please, any advice you can share is helpful [emoji4]

I have a question for the women (sorry HFFM). During your....happy ending, does your stomach not hurt from the convulsing? I've had days where I wake up the morning after and had sore abs from it. I'm 6 days post op but worried I'll hurt my tummy. Sorry, there was no way I could word that without it being TMI for some people. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi I had gastric sleeve surgery six weeks ago. There have been no issue since surgery. I recently changed my diet her my nutritionist to soft food. I introduced a few new foods that was two days ago. I was constipatedfor the past three days (tmi) but develop a stomachache this morning and was able to go to the bathroom. All day I have had severe stomach cramps that feel like when I was 15 having menstruation cramps. Anybody have any idea what this is from. I would normally take Advil but not allowed now so I just took a pain pill that the doctor gave me after surgery. If you could please tell me if this is happened to any of you or if this is something I should be concerned about. I appreciate any insight. I try to shower everyday because if it. Might be tmi but going to the bathroom I'm so disgusted with myself. Also been avoiding people because my self confidence is so low right now. I had 2 kids via csection and believe me, I cringed everytime they wanted to clean me up (tmi) down there...My best wishes for a speedy recovery and a healthy journey! Good afternoon everyone! I'm brand new to this forum and I'm happy to be part of this community. I know I may ramble on for a bit, so I apologize. I had my surgery Wednesday 9/28/2016, so I'm 4 days out; and I have a few things on my mind. If anyone has any input or advice on anything, I greatly appreciate it!! A little history about myself..I'm a 27 year old female, starting weight at 340 pounds before surgery (I haven't weighed myself since 9/28). I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which is controlled by generic Lexapro 20mg once daily. Some people have attributed by massive weight gain in the past year or so to my medication, but it has helped me so much, that I wouldn't dare stop it. I've had PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome since 12 years old, and I've been extremely overweight since I was a child. I weighed in at 232 pounds when I was 11, and I've been a yo-yo dieter since I was 15. I hit 300 pounds at 14, dropped to 180 by 17. Shot back up to 290 around age 21, dropped to 210 by 23/24. And since 2013 I steadily gained to be at my highest at 348 pounds. I've been seeing a psychologist for my OCD since 2013, but I have not seen him for a coupe of months. I plan on going back to discuss my weight loss journey. With being a new sleever and a natural worrier, (with anxiety) there are, of course, many things I'm concerned and curious about. Again, I apologize for the long post, and I'll list some things that are on my mind: 1. I'm tired and lazy. I've been sitting on my aunt's recliner since I left the hospital Friday (today is Sunday). I get up and walk around a few times a day. My urine is fine and I had my first bowel movement today (sorry, TMI). But I mostly want to lay around and close my eyes. I'm not hungry, but the smell of the delicious fried chicken that my aunt is making for her kids is bringing back memories lol. I'm getting off topic! Bottom line is, is this tiredness and laziness normal? I feel bad and almost obligated to be more active, but I just wanna rest! 2. I was never told that I had a food addiction, and my therapist told me he doesn't believe I compulsively eat. However, I do know that I am an emotional eater. And usually that emotion is happiness. I used food to reward myself all the time. I hated when people were around me when I was eating something delicious and watching TV. I wanted to be alone and enjoy my private time..which always included a good TV show and delicious food. Food always made me happy. I never really used food to self medicate when I was sad, but always ate when I was happy. And bored. I'm such a boredom eater. I don't have any hobbies, I live by myself, I'm an only child. So I'm always alone...and often times bored. And the eating would begin. I planned meals like they were major rewards. For the finale of Breaking Bad, I ordered pizza to have it delivered to my home right on time...I loaded up on Snacks and Desserts. I shut my phone off and didn't want to see or talk to anyone while I enjoyed my show and my food. I foresee that this will be a problem. Has anyone felt the same way? And if so, were you able to control it? 3. I worry about addiction transfer. I've heard of people resorting to alcoholism, drug addiction and/or gambling after weight loss surgery, and with my anxiety issues this scares me. My friend told me to become addicted to exercise and health, but who's to say that will happen? 4. Feeling like your old self? Just a general inquiry...how long did it take you guys to feel back to "normal" in terms of recovering from the surgery? Thanks so much for reading this! I hope to interact with you guys! Hey guys, I've always kind of lurked around, don't really say much. But I need some advice. Here's a little about me. My name is Deborah, you can call me Deb. I'm 26 years old and I've been over weight almost all of my life. When I was 8 I had a really bad incident with some boiling Water and after that I never wanted to play outside, I stayed inside eating. My mother tells me she regrets never taking me to see someone professionally because she believes it has stemmed a lot of weight issues, as well as depression, anxiety. Etc. Anyway, fast forward to 2010, I find out I'm pregnant with my first, my daughter. I knew right then that my weight (especially since every doctors visit included a long speech about how being obese can hurt or hinder the pregnancy) would have a huge toll on me being a good mother. Just like everyone here, I've dieted and failed a million times over. I'd lose then gain and was constantly reminding myself how useless I was. It was some very dark times for me! So that's why I decided to look into bariatric surgery. 2013 I find out that I'm pregnant with my son. So that kind of stopped every thing in its tracks. Well I finally jumped through all of my insurance requirements and FINALLY got the gastric sleeve on September 29th at 7:30 in the morning. My heaviest ever was 350. Day of surgery, I was down to 335. My issue is...its been 2 days and I still cannot move! I'm in such unbearable pain that I can't go to the bathroom by myself, I can't get up and down without my husband (who's 135 lbs sopping wet) pulling me up and letting me use his shoulders to lower myself down. I can't pull my own pants up, tmi but I can't even wipe myself! I know it's only been a couple of days and everyone responds differently but is there anyone else out there that has dealt with this? I feel like every muscle in my stomach tears apart every time I stand up. They burn like they're on fire! I'm really worried. Oh and the doctor has me on Percocet which I have been taking faithfully to keep ahead of the pain. Why am I having such issues? Just too early still? TIA. How about 2 weeks post op? I know I'm naturally pretty gassy *sorry TMI* so I don't want it to be even worst. My sister who had surgery last week is having the worst gas problems. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
(Sorry tmi). I need to find out where/when I ate that dead body.. because what is coming out of my other end sure smells like it. I would like to thank my digestive track for holding in those monstrosities until after I got out of class today. That would have been hella awkward.

And know where EVERY bathroom is on your regular routes to/from work and school or wherever you go...

I've uh.. had to throw a few pairs away.. which is well.. unfortunate? I'm out in the country and there is exactly one gas station on the way between my place and school and they don't have a public restroom. Thankfully that is only a 10 minute drive. Lol.
-
Not unfortunate at all. Soon they weren't going to fit and you were going to have to toss them anyway. You are being "proactive"!

I am a week post op today!! I'm down 14 lbs since surgery and 55 lbs total. I had my post appointment yesterday and got cleared for stage two diet. YUMMY APPLESAUCE. haha. Anyways my doctor wants me to take a stool softener but I wanted to see when everyone else had their first poop after surgery. I don't feel bloated or blocked. Sorry for the TMI. September 2016 Post VSG Updates
katie09/21/2016 replied to Shell Renewed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery was 09/21 & I just got home yesterday. I'm going to be honest & say recovery is a lot more difficult than I was expecting. I'm having the most trouble with nausea- I can live with the pain but the constant sick feeling is horrid! Meds help & it gets easier as time passes. Oh and this is probably TMI but my period decided to arrive early - about 20 minutes before I was due in surgery!! Yes, they can still go ahead and did. I get nausea at that time normally so that on top of surgery has really knocked me around. Im feeling thoroughly miserable but i still have no regrets & im happy I have other people's stories to read on here or i would be feeling a lot worse mentally. Hello, mine is getting a little better, my body feels stiff and I'm finally passing gas and burping a little more (tmi sorry). I tried to eat a popsicle yesterday but was too nauseous to do so. Make sure that you are walking, that will somewhat help with the pain. My stomach still hurts a bit because of the gas, but I'm doing better with each day. TMI I know... Sleeved on Monday and I am on Clear liquids only (Water and G2 are all I've had). I'm only taking zofran, chewable Tylenol and Prevacid.?Today I had an incident where I had gas and then felt like there was a problem - and sure enough, I had pooped like a baby! What's happening? That is about how much I was going. It just slowed down this afternoon. It must be toxins. TMI alert, I've had an vaginal order for over a year that I would have to wear a poise to help with the odor. It was strong and me embarrassing. A few days after being on the liquid detox, i noticed the odor disappeared. Also, I no longer need to wear liners. Amazing what eliminating foods will do. I hope I continue to pee although it's in annoying. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
