OK...I have a rather goofy NSV. Did you know you loose weight in your nose too? The other day I put on my glasses that I wear for work and the nose piece was riding on the bridge of my nose, I thought I had bent them. Then today I put on my other pair...same thing! I guess my nose got skinnier (LOL), I had to pinch in the nose peice. I suppose you loose weight everywhere, but I never thougth I'd shrink out of my glasses!!! LOL LOL LOL

Careful with those, I had a bad experience 🤢🤢. As a treat for myself I’ve gone to the canarie islands to soak up some winter sun After a rough two weeks this is giving me the boost I need. Highly recommend do something nice for yourself when you hit the two week mark. Food wise I’m managing about six to seven mouthfuls of food. Trying to eat about 5 times a day that’s what my team suggest. Protein always comes first then usually veg. Looking forward to some nsv’s

Oh MY Gosh!!! Did you guys know that smaller sizes are cheaper?!?!?! Going from a 30 to a 24 in size, ordering from Roaman's catalog and I get all excited! My entire adult life I've scanned the listings in catalogs to the absolute bottom, crossing my fingers (and toes) that the size would go large enough. Was trying to order some smaller clothes (yah!) and 12 - 24 is $5.00 cheaper than 26 - 36! Another NSV that I didn't see coming!

Great idea! How are our Mexico Octosleevers faring with their losses and NSV's?!? As for myself, I had surgery 10/27/12 with Dr Garcia. Started at 270--now down to 206.5 . So about 63 lbs down and I feel great!! -

Thinking of you, Julie. We have a joke in our house, Ice is our friend." Have no idea what plastics protocol involves but boy do I love ice packs for joint pain. You should see our freezer, lol. Did a little retail therapy today, at the local job lots. Coldwater Creek and JJill for ten bucks per. I now have three pair of pants as next NSVs -- two nice linen pants in a purple and a red. Fancy! And another pair of red dress pants. All size ten a and all too. I can zip 'em but that's it. Need to lose some more gut. But then my my, the pants I will have. So much fun to buy off the rack. It's been twenty years for me to be able to enjoy shopping again. Said goodbye to a loved one today -- I am so glad he got to see me lose weight, choose myself and get healthy. He was a doctor. My godfather. Never said a word but I watched his delight this last year as I slimmed down. He had some dementia but was always so delighted to see me. I will miss him but 90 years is a long time. Dying is hard. Glad to have extended my life by choosing to work on my physical body.

Checking in in everyone . August going so fast almost that dreaded back to school time. Life is happening so fast and enjoying every minute of it despite my slight weightloss stall /plateau. I know I'll get through it just cont to make the right choices first stall in 13 months can't complain . Despite what the scale says I had done funny NSV a friends mother in law stopped at my sisters house and I was not expected to be there. She never met my sis before but knew me and was. Picking something up for my friend. I answered the door she introduced herself and said you look so much like so-so. I said I sure hope so because I am her!!! After we all laughed she said I wasn't kidding I didn't recognize you. Then last night I went to a party and I thought it was odd my friends bro in law who rarely talks to people he doesn't know ( I have known the family for 4 years) was a little cold to me barely replied to my hello. The next day she said you know my bro in law had no idea who you are she said idk ur still the same person just a smaller size lol

OMG!! NSVs Coming out of my ears this week!!!
cludgie posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
OK, so I am having a stall again, the scale has not moved since before easter, BUT the last 3 days have been amazing for NSVs, so I'll bask in those a little instead! Monday - (sorry this is reapeated form another thread) - I put on my work trousers only to find they don't touch ANYWHERE, not the waist, not the bum, not the thighs, I let go and they hit the floor, and they are not old trousers. My 7 year old thinks this is hillarious, so much so that she tells everyone who will listen about it (I'm flattered, but gosh i hope she doesn't tell people every time I try something on and its too small!!) Then I go to do the pick up from the childminders, and she greets me with "hello skinny" Tuesday - I see my mum for the first time in 2 weeks, and she says "Claire you look amazing, you look really well, and you are getting so skinny!" (that strange word again!) I then go to work, and am also told by my boss that I'm getting "Skinny" (thats 3 times in 2 days!) Today - I try on old trousers that were painfully small a couple of weeks ago - hey presto perfect fit, I team them with a top which I normally only wear with tummy control underwear, and the top just kind of floats around me without the use of any hidden support! I get to work and a colleague stops me in the corridoor and just starts pointing at me (I thought she was having some sort of breakdown), I asked what was wrong and she says "My god Claire, where has your stomach gone??? Its dissappeared!" I did resist the temptation to say it was in my surgeone's rubbish bin. Finally I get home and change into my pyjamas, and realise that the only way they are staying up is with a belt - so here I sit in my comfy pj's and a fetching flourescent belt!!! So with another 37lb to goal and a long long way from what I consider to be a normal weight, things are still pretty damn good! -
Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
TracyinKS replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am a long way from AFTER but I had to pop in here and share this mornings NSV! These are my WELL WORN NON-Stretch Levis size 14! I've been trying them on every week for the last two months seeing how far up I can get them.... A little over a month a go was the first pic.... there was NO amount of sucking and stuffing that I could make the sides meet... so it was my August goal to get into them by labor day.... I'm a couple days late, but HERE I AM THIS MORNING! a true testament that inches do come off even when the scale is not budging! Breathing IS over rated! I LOVE MY BAND -
NSV shout outs

I have so many NSV to report. I fit comfortably on a plane this week, more than comfortable. I fit perfectly in a cheap seat on a cheap plane and a flight that was several hours was very comfortable. I used to fly 5-6 days a week in my old management job at over 300 pounds. I was always fine in first class but if I had to ride coach, or on a small plane it was torture. This is one of the main things I was looking forward to and it felt so good. This is something I can think about when temptation knocks. No food can ever feel better than the joy of flying to me. I can fit in any booth at any resturant. I think I have said it before but it is still important. I can walk up stairs in front of my date and not be winded when I get out the top and keep a great pace. Walked all day with my date. No foot pain, could keep walkng, and I did it 4 inch heels. Walked through the airport in 4 inch heels, felt good and kept pace with other people. Sat in the car with my seat belt on and lotioned, my legs easily and comfortably. Dropped the lotion and picked it up. Before I could have never bent over and easily done these things. It was effortless. In the past I would taken my seat belt off and not been able to bend straight over. My postoperative life is really amazing. I can't express how much joy three little victories bring me. They make it all worth it. Forgot something, was able to go not any store and buy a replacement. Went to a Soma store out of town, bought a bra, told the lady fitting me all about my surgery and how she might be able to afford it. -
NSV today. I dropped my dry cleaner off and the nice lady working there asked me. "Do you mind if I ask you something?" Me "no, go ahead " Her "how much weight have you lost? You look great." I thanked her and continued with my day. This is a drive thru dry cleaner , all she can see is my face ????

Great NSV. I use 20 lb containers of cat litter two at a time. When I was carrying them in from the car one day, I thought "I have lost 2-1/2 times the weight of this litter." I don't even know how I used to walk. No wonder my knees and ankles are trashed. Keep up the good work!!! Kathe

Yesterday was the first day since surgery (1/18) that I truly felt ecstatic and overjoyed. Many NSV's to come (kinda long...): 1) Finally found a food I can tolerate, that tastes great, and that I can eat a decent amount of: Chili! I know... I'm a late-bloomer when it comes to chili. 2) My neighbor, who hasn't seen me since the day after surgery, hobbling down my apartment hallway wearing baggy PJ pants and a t-shirt, saw me yesterday wearing yoga pants and a pretty pink (snug) t-shirt and said, "Wow! You're looking great!" 3) My boss came back to work and, in the middle of updating me on what I missed while I was away, said, "Gosh, you're getting skinny!" (We sure do use the term "skinny" loosely, don't we?) 4) But best of all... I went to Macy's and decided to try on some jeans (since the ones I wore to work were falling off me). I normally HAAAAAATE clothes shopping, but felt brave today. Pre-surgery I wore a (tight) size 18, and found some size 16 jeans, and... They fit PERFECTLY! I paired them with a size 1x top (formerly a 2x), and actually jumped up and down in the dressing room with joy! I actually looked cute! And I couldn't believe I could actually wear a skinny jean. I ended up buying 2 pairs of jeans and 3 tops. Those should last me a while. I wanted to post this for those who are also just starting out, like me. I was super discouraged at my 2nd appointment on 2/7. I was in the midst of a stall and was feeling like the procedure wasn't working (3 pounds lost in 2 weeks). I followed doctor's orders, and now I'm down 9 pounds in 10 days. The surgery DOES work - if you work it properly. And the good far outweighs the bad!

I love everyone's NSVs! It's so inspiring! I can't wait!

I love reading these NSV's, they are great. I admit, I especially enjoy reading some of the R rated and up ones, lol. I had a great weekend. I got a new tattoo. October was breast cancer awareness month and a local tattoo parlor was doing the pink ribbon tattoos for free, as long as you gave a minimum donation of $20.00 to breast cancer research, so me and a coworker got one. Here is the picture, just pretend I am wearing a bathing suit: Then, I went to get my nails done for the first times in six months. I went to my same nail tech I had been going to forever, and she didn't even recognize me! She couldn't believe how different I looked with all of the weight loss. Lastly, I had an appointment with my OBGYN on Tuesday. One of the reasons I have always dreaded going is because not once in the past 25 years have I been able to close those darn gowns they make you wear. I realize they are going to see us in our all anyways, but still, I like to remain covered up for as long as possible. I was pretty darned excited when I was able to completely close the gown with no gapes whatsoever. So, those are my most recent NSV's, kind of silly, but they made me feel good.

Went shopping with my bestie today. Headed straight for the size 12 pants even though the size 12s I already own are loose. I just couldn't imagine that I could wear anything smaller, so I wasn't even going to try on a smaller size. Well, guess what? The size 10s were a little loose, too! This is a literal NSV because I made this discovery in a week in which I lost no weight.

Buying a dress online that was smaller than last summer AND having to return it for a smaller size because it was too big when it arrived. And ordering a lab cost in a much smaller size than last year and being able to button it all the way up! Clothing changes seem to be the biggest NSV at the moment.

WOW!!! That is one of the greatest NSV's I've seen on this board!! I would not be able to keep that one quiet either!! Wow!! Congrats, you! You have a great kid. C

Next week I will celebrate my 6 month surgiversary. Brassiere: 42G (and truthfully uncomfortable and spilling out) to a 38DD. Pants: 24 and uncomfortable, to 18 and perfectly loose (16s still too snug for real comfort). But the real NSV that I had recently, can only be appreciated by my peeps who have Been There: It was really cold the other day and I had left my jacket in the office. A colleague offered me her windbreaker. She's kinda chunky-fat and if I were to guess her pant size I might say ... near mine I guess, 16-18. But Before Surgery I just would have insisted through my blue chattering lips that I wasn't cold at all, just to avoid the embarrassment of a jacket that didn't fit. This time I accepted the jacket, put it on, and it engulfed me. Too big. =) =) =)

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I have lost 62 lbs since I started this journey. I had an awesome nsv moment today. Since I arrived at my grandmother's house I have not been able to sit on this particular wooden chair, the arms wouldnt let me sit on it, but today I was passing by it and decided to try, and I slid right in!!!! WOOHOOO

I had to think what was the biggest NSV and theres two, the first time i jokingly pulled a sport cot off the rack ( was in a walmart) and it FIT! never bought off the rack before. i didnt buy it but it got me emotional. but the biggest single nsv was waking up one morning and seeing the...umm. the other part of me ......that was up before me .....rising over what used to be my belly. if you get my drift.

Wow, I'm thrilled to see this thread!! One of my NSV goals is to ride the Pinellas Trail in St Pete, FL - 38.2 miles. I've never been an avid biker but I enjoy it immensely. A couple of friends have hitched their star on my wagon and we started training just after Mother's Day, riding 5 miles/day, adding a mile each week. Doesn't sound like much when I see all the stats above but for us - none of us in great shape - it's a thrill. We'll be at 34 miles by the second week of January, then we'll hit the P-trail. Three days of the week we bike our miles, swim 45 minutes, then do aquarobics for an hour, all before 11 am. The other days, we hit the gym for strength training. I don't ever see a day when I will love doing the gym thing but training for this ride with my friends has made it a lot of fun. I use AllSportsGPS for tracking my rides/progress and Pandora is a MUST for the ride! I finally figured out how to make my smart phone do both at the same time!
