WTG aclubb!! You're doing great!! Great NSV's Kathy!! I love NSV's....sometimes they make me feel better than SV's. Okay, I have a question for ya'll. I have a Sony Erricson Walkman Slider Phone and it's like an ipod as well. I have an armband that holds my phone and I use it when I run. Yesterday, while I was running, my right arm (from the elbow to the shoulder) went kinda numb but was hurting really bad. I almost stopped running. Well, I finished my run and did my cool down and it eventually went away. Anyone else had this happen? I don't know if it happened because of the armband or if it had to do with something else going on with my body. The armband didn't feel too tight so, I dunno. It was weird....it's never happened before this. Any thoughts?

Nice story....what a great NSV for you. -
So went to Knott's berry Farm last Thursday... I have not been to an amusement park in such a long time. The embarrassment of not fitting on rides is a little to much to take sometimes....but this time it was different. I was able to go on every single rollercoaster and thrill ride. I had an amazing time and logged in about 7 miles of walking with no real tiredness. It was great to have so much energy and feel so NORMAL! 3 months in and it has already changed my life.

bbq guys that love to cook and drink good red wine
Bandista replied to oldmike's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm a bander and a female but it's the cook part of me that can't resist posting on this thread. I LOVE to cook and that has not stopped since getting weight loss surgery. I can't do a straight-up burger, however. That's a thing of the past. For grilling I need tenderloin or a filet mignon and it needs to be cooked perfectly. Dense Protein is what works well for me. We use only grass-fed organic now. For burger, I cook it down in a hot skillet with garlic and spices for chili. Trick is to cook the meat and then cover over with a good quality organic stock and let it simmer for a very long time. Delicious, and soft -- not gristly, which does not work for my band. So that's my two cents! Good luck on your upcoming surgery. You're going to do great. And PS, one of my favorite NSVs (non-scale victories) is being able to tie my apron double around my waist. OMG, I just love that. And a glass of wine. Like some others, the red kicks off reflux for me now so I have to have cheese with it -- and I drink mostly Savignon Blancs now or tequila. -
@@bayougirlmrsc This is a big change for any marriage. An option is couples counselling. I have been with my hubby for 26 years. We have a solid relationship before and after surgery. He was very supportive. A few things happened. I do many things without him. I go to the gym, hang out with friends. I go to the coffee shop by myself as a little treat for me. He was feeling left behind. (1) I learned to invite him to come to the gym. Even if he says no. (2) We have date night. (3) When I hit a certain weight, We made couples goal reward . ( I took him to Victoria secret. Walked out with size small panties. NSV!) I went from invisible to men giving me attention. I realized my husband was also adjusting to my physical change. His fear was I going to leave him. This sounded so ridiculous to me. I would never leave him...But he needed reassurance. Having myself back. Healthy mentally and physically has improved our relationship. The sex is all for the better! lol ( you will see that topic from male and female patients) wish you the best,

All I gotta say is HOLY MOLY!!!! I am so pleased with my progress to date. Went to my regular doc for a routine appt and everyone of the office staff remarked how much weight I had lost and that I looked GREAT. Even the doctor said "WOW!, you look great." Isn't that just the coolest thing? Here are my 8 month anniversary pics. Compare them to my Sept pics as I don't have a pic beyond that since now. I will include a before pic as well so you have some reference too.

That's a great NSV! You look amazing!! I could barely buckle my driver's seatbelt before and my surgery and my stomach touched the steering wheel. Driving is so much better now. Sent from my Nokia 7.2 using BariatricPal mobile app -

im 6 weeks out and have only lost 14 lbs but i look upon it as any weight lost is good progress ! wait until you have your 1st nsv ! (non scale victory) . when my jeans were hanging off my hips and i could fit into some old clothes , that was a major "happy dance !" once you've gotten a few nice compliments you feel better. so when the scale slows down think of the nice nsv's you re getting ( Hot Mama ! was one compliment i got . what a hoot !!) best of luck !!

Somebody told me I looked Stylish today! WHAT!!!! YAY!!!! The weight I have lost gave me the confidence today to wear my jeans inside my new tall boots. And the compliments have been rolling in. This is huge for me. I am 100% a jeans and t-shirt girl, which is allowed at work. But I knew for sure, one day soon that Stacy and Clinton from "What Not To Wear" would be banging down my door! Stylish....who knew! Thank you lapband

Hi everyone, hope y'all had a great labor day weekend. i stayed on plan after my whopping 38 point first day! ha! in fact my fiancee' laughs when i tell him how many points we are eating. i think he's glad we arent eating junk. he isnt fat but he gets a hangover after snacking on junk over the weekend. mgirl: glad you joined. i have alot less points each day but i'm managing ok (except the 1st day). the program has changed so it's fun re-learning it sberrys and scorpio: congrats on being down a pound each. jollygreen: now that's an NSV missdiva: great job! your enthusiasm is infectious. i think you are right about the band compliment the WW food plan. in past the amounts they gave me were too small as i was starving afterwards. now with the band...the amounts are just right. re: chat time...out of the 3 days you gave as suggestions in can do thursday at 5:00 California time. china: good girl re: passing on PB Cookies. that is a good point you make about not gaining the weight overnight...why would we think we should lose it that way too. crzytchr: let me know what kind of elliptical you decide upon. i'm interested in one as well. deniseh: i recently took fill out of my band and it is making all the difference in the world for me. i was eating so much junk because i couldnt get good food down without hurting. great news on your weigh in! hi rayne have a great night everyone josie -

My latest NSV was really a Negative NSV! :-P I found a shirt I really wanted BAD! It was the only one in purple they had. And it was 3 sizes too BIG! I was too thin to wear it. :-) Get my free eBook - The Top 10 WLS Fears and How to Kick Their Butt! -

What Is Your Latest NSV?

Knee boots that have the ankle zipper were the bane of my existence! My daughter had been wearing a pair someone bought me because I barely got them on, and they wouldn't go up my calves. They do now! NO, my darling daughter, you may NOT wear them this year....! NSV! (Can I also say that I teared up, it was THAT emotional.) -

I'm so happy for you, OP! I had a similar embarrassing experience at Universal studios and have never been back since (I live in Orlando, and it breaks my heart to not be able to go anywhere but plus size-friendly Disney). I'm still too big for the coasters, but not for much longer, so I hope to experience the same NSV soon! -
Vines - you're right, of course (it's why I nominated you to be our leader! Have I told you lately how much I appreciate you taking us all under your wing?) Of course we're HOT. I have to admit I was feeling pretty hot when I went out for sushi last night. I wore a nice pair of jeans and a bright yellow button up blouse with a red blazer. I went with a married girlfriend - but if I had gone by myself I could have done some serious flirting with the single guys at the sushi bar. I was feeling very sassy! Another NSV - I went to Cold Stone after dinner (normally this would NOT count as an NSV but) and I got the smallest size they offer and thought to myself - oh my goodness - this is huge! In the past I would have gotten the medium, and felt deprived, and left wanting more. Tht's a big mental change for me. Also, I didn't really feel guilty for going to Cold Stone. It's not something I do very often - and I enjoyed it. Thanks, Vines, for reminding that I AM HOT!
