Great feeling, eh? I am 23 months post-surgery. 15 months ago, I took 19 bags of clothes (9XL, 8XL, 7XL, 6XL, 5XL and 4XL) to the charity shop to help needy people who were big plus sizes. Currently around XL or 2XL depending on brand and fit ... so contemplating when to get rid of a few remaining 4XL and 3XL garments. I keep the track pant bottoms as I can slip them on for the pool or the gym despite their bagginess but I not how much the "swim" on my smaller body now!

Definitely apple cider. I’m so frustrated. Just checked the weather forecast and we’re at 90+ degree days for at least another 10 days. Guess we can have fall in October?

Denied after being approved and devastated
Sheribear68 replied to Panda333's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. Just found this. I too have Aetna and they did a VERY similar thing to me. Thankfully I found out they weren’t going to cover my initial place just 3 months into the process, but I had to start all over again right around this time last year. I started right after July 4th at bariatric clinic #1 last year and had to switch in late September and then didn’t get approved until mid-January 2019. Had surgery on 2-6-19 (7 months after starting the journey) and I felt so “behind” and “cheated” of time. There are still days where I tell myself that I’d be at goal by now if I’d only been able to have my sleeve in early November 2018, but the important thing is I got there eventually. Hang in there, do the steps, and take advantage of the extra time to research and work on your head game before surgery day. -
I have tricare! It was actually much easier than I anticipated. After my surgeons office got my referral their ins coordinator called me. She told me that tricare would approve based on BMI over 40, I could have even been approved at a 35 simple because of sleep apnea. Ohh how I wish I knew that a few years ago. Tricare requires a 4 month weightloss trial, the ins coordinator told me tricare does not actually require you to lose weight just to basically answer yes to all the questions -are you parking further away than needed - are you putting your fork down between each bite etc. I scheduled all 4 of my appointments to be at approx the same time and I fluctuated just a little down, up down. During my 4 month wait I had my first appt with surgeon to decide which surgery to have and had my nutrition class as well as my individual appt with dietician. After my last weight appt the end of June, I had to wait for a few more tests to come back for the surgeon, they came back the beginning of July and they submitted my packet to tri-care. Less than a week later I was approved due to timing for someone to be with me after surgery I couldn't have my surgery in July even though it was offered. I finally had it done on Aug 19. Now the difference is I do have sleep apnea and high blood pressure but again, my insurance coordinator told me just being over 40 bmi was enough. I would talk to your surgeons insurance coordinator to see what they say hopefully you are still in a Mil area where they are all accustomed to using tricare and their rules. That made it so much easier for me. The process went really really quickly for me and I was terrified tricare would randomly deny me. We are tricare prime retired and even with that I was approved. GL and if you have any questions just message me, I will answer them to the best of my ability.

Just had it August 10. 5 weeks out . How are you feeling ? Aww too cute -
I assume you meant my original sleeve surgery, I managed to lose 45 lbs pre-op so I was at 375 on surgery date. As for my revision, I lost 30 lbs pre-op so was at 300 on 6/15/19.

5'2", ♀️10m PO, maintaining xxx lbs this morning. Ok, so I implemented a don't-eat-unless-hungry strategy yesterday to curb what I thought was an increase in unnecessary snacking lately, but it looks like I need the snacking, as I ended up with too few calories by day's end. *sigh*. June 2019 Surgery Siblings!
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to BulletWithButterflyWings's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! Sounds like you are doing well, that is awesome! I am feeling pretty great now myself. I am able to meet protein goals with real food and get all the vitamins in OK. I still hate drinking all that d@mn water, but I do it anyway. LOL! My only small setback was needing my gallbladder out at 10 weeks from surgery, and that went pretty smooth too. Can't complain! Glad to hear from a fellow Juner! -
I cannot answer your question as I haven't bought anything but socks and underwear from WM in many years, I have to buy FR (Fire Retardant) clothes for my work so I just wear those jeans for everyday clothes as well, shorts, sweats, shirts, etc...I buy online. BUT, I just wanted to give you a huge congrats!!!! I know the feeling as we have almost the exact same stats. I was up to 420 in 2015, am 5' 10''. I was up to a 54 waist also. I am currently in a loose 40 and saving pennies for some 38s. I had a bunch of stuff, down to 36 because I had lost down to 190 but when I gained a bunch back (up to 330) I got pissed/depressed/whatever, and gave all my smaller clothes away....again. I had my revision from sleeve to bypass in June and now having to keep buying all these clothes all over again. Anyway, congrats on the amazing weight loss, keep it up.

10. Well, I did get my 65 squats for yesterday done and my 70 for today. I did also get my exercise in and there was some walking involved so I shall count that as a walk taken. I will also probably do some walking around the front yard with the puppy when I get home for training purposes. As far as my glutes go, I just don't want them to be flat. So far so good.

June 2019 Surgery Siblings!
JamesL73 replied to BulletWithButterflyWings's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello all, been a couple months since my last post. Down another 10 or so lbs since then. I have had a couple stalls and loss has slowed down but I am still not really exercising due to working so much, so in a way it is good to know that I am dropping weight just by eating healthy. I am on full solids now and I found out pretty quickly that I cannot do the regular Keto with this bypass like I did with the sleeve. The excess fats cause diarrhea. That kind of sucks because I can't stand ground Turkey so if I do foods with EXTRA lean ground beef I just have to take a chance on how I will react to it. I am glad it does that in a way, it tells me I won't be absorbing all that fat anymore. Another HUGE win is that for some odd reason, I am able to eat all kinds of lettuce again, even the iceberg....with the sleeve, any kind of lettuce would cause major stomach pain and I would throw it right back up but now it sits just fine so lots of salads for me!!! yippee!! LOL I know I need to supplement my protein though but that's not really a problem. I have been just sprinkling a scoop of Unjury unflavored powder in the salads. Problem solved. Hope everyone is doing well. Until next time.....✌️ -

I also like to have some easy grab snacks available, but mine are mini-quiches, meatballs, small salmon patties, sugar free mini cheese cakes. They have about 70 cal each, but 6-10 gm protein.

New date for my VGS! 7/22/19
fluffy diva replied to NancyLF's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery 7/24/19 with Blossom Bariatric in Nevada. It was smooth for me no pain, no discomfort, no nausea, no vomitting 2 days after my procedure I flew home. So far I'm down 35lbs but in the last week i hit a stall. After surgery I was a little tired it lasted about 2 weeks now i do Zumba 3 days per week and I walk (3 miles ) 3 days per week. The best decision I could have made -

Yep that's why I am a 17/19 on my way to a 15. I was a DD before surgery time, now I am barely a B. One of the first posters here said she was channeling Elle Woods, well my Inner Tomboy is resurfacing after 50+ years. Told my orthopaedic surgeon in Early Days I was an Obese sporty tomboy, he said "That's impossible!"--- Well Well Well Just look at ME Now! I am even returning to some exercises, okay* Even if I am 73* it makes me feel BETTER and PROUDER that I once again can do it without huffing-puffing- and doing myself an Injury! I'm not an Senior Olympic contender but at least, I'm back in the game!🌛🚴And it's NOT TOO LATE FOR ME!

Stopping Omeprazole-
ms.sss replied to FluffySaysForkIt!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a 6 month prescription of 30mg, and when I ran out, I got the rebound symptoms (foamies and slimies galore! burning in throat in the mornings) and asked my doc to re-prescribe me. I'm 10 months now and asked the doc to help me wean off of it, after reading some tips on how to do so. So, once I finish off my current stash of 30mg (probably another month or so) here is the plan: reduce dosage to 15mg daily and take this for two weeks. then take the 15mg every other day for two weeks Well see what happens... -
I was diagnosed at 19 with arthritis. I have had both my thumbs replaced, and the normal injections here and there. No fun at all!
