So, I just hit 100 pounds down today. So happy of the progress I've made. To top it all off, I made a NSV, running a whole mile, and in under 12 minutes, too. I don't think I've done that ever, even in middle school. Pictures in my gallery, yall

NSV that saved my life today!

This is hands down the best NSV I've read so far! -
Thanks to all of you for your advice. I am feeling better this week. I saw my surgeon for my 3 mth f/u also and he thinks things are going fine. I have not been getting enough protein OR fluids, and I believe this is the problem. I just have to find high protein snacks and fluids that I can stomach. I used to drink huge amounts of cold water, and can't do that at all any more. I got really burned out on shakes in the beginning, and am having trouble getting them down at all now. I think all this is a learning curve that I will get eventually... I have to remember that I have lost 52 lbs in 16 weeks. I guess this is pretty amazing... I feel better than I have felt in years, and am so grateful for the opportunity for a new beginning! I do love my sleeve... By the way, thankyou so much Tiffykins for the gift of your time to encourage all of us... You make me feel like I Can do it! You look great by the way. I know you are so excited... I thought about you when I went shopping at Lohmanns this weekend! It was the first time in Many years that I have been able to shop in a regular store. (started at size 20 - 22) My daughter handed me a pair of shorts size 14 - with a waist. " I can't wear those", I gasped. "Just try them Mom", she insisted. They fit - with room to spare! I was so excited... Another NSV!!!! Have a great day, Heygale

4 Weeks since Gastric Sleeve Surgery Today! Normal Loss? I Think I'm A Slow Loser
quazarfrog replied to quazarfrog's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thank you - it's all relative I guess. I weigh in once a week to check my weight progress but I couldn't do it every day because I'd go crazy:) I am now wearing an xl in old navy which is a huge nsv for me because when I got sleeved - I didn't fit into any thing there. . Small goals are helping me along the journey. -
August 2007 Bandsters still on their journey
LadyBugRed replied to LadyBugRed's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel wonderful without the weight. The best NSV is that my knees no longer hurt. Losing sizes and getting compliments are great too but the physical limitations are less now!! I am going to continue on to get to goal. It is just taking me a bit longer!! -
I only lost 15 my first month. I am 6 months out and have lost 85 total although 10 of it is after a revision last week as an emergency. I had a perforated ulcer which is rare. Do you still work with a nutritionist? If not I highly recommend it. Mine has been awesome! Especially when I had stalls and felt really down like you. They kept telling me that my body has had significant trauma from surgery and is trying to figure out what the heck just happened. I agree with a comment above about it being a marathon. I thought I was losing slow but to see my total weight loss after 6 months I feel better. Maybe put your scale away and weigh in once a month. Also track your NSV’s. I had 6 weeks of no weight loss but I went down a whole pant size!

@@lsereno you are such a silly head doahhhh back at ya like some/.many/most of us...... your tummy was probably near the steering wheel (like me) you needed plenty of room now that you are miss "cute, hot, sexy, mini ) you don't need all that extra room NSV's for newbies et al are great, normal/frequent but when you are 2.5 years old!!! you/me/we really appreciate them!!! keep up the good job (i know you will!!) kathy congrats -
A non scale victory = NSV

What's a NSV?
-
Oh, I hope the scale gives you the best news, but even if it doesn't, you know you are doing awesome due to the clothing nsv.
-
I also noticed another NSV..My BMI has dropped into another first digit. Still obese, yes. But instead of a 50+ BMI, or a 40+ BMI I am now in the 30s! Woo hoo!!!

Rain - Don't give up - just put one foot in front of the other. I rely on your posts for motivation and I am so impressed with your loss so far. This is a bump in the road - you will soon be back to posting your wonderful NSV's! -
Hi all well guess what i knew i lost weight cause the scale says so but i haven't really noticed. But i had to get a new swimming suit. My old one that by the way last summer was almost to small now is way to big I can't even pretend to keep my breast were they are suppose to be at in there. So i thaught that was cool. I didn't think i had lost enough weight that my bathingsuit wouldn't fit so it was a nice surprise luckly my mom had a smaller one that fit.

June 2020 Sleevers, how are you doing?
abiebaby replied to futurefinemama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So...I've had great progress so far. starting weight 308,surgery weight 288, current weight 219. Plenty of NSVs as well. Now for the downsides: in a bit of a food funk right now. It's a little hard watching my family eat things that i can't (well, really, i can probably eat some, but it would not have good results). I am deathly afraid of carbs, because that has been my downfall in the past. Don't get me wrong: i don't regret the surgery at all! Just need some encouragement sometimes.... -
Fun with my old jeans :)

Keep rocking your sleeve girlie!!!! Whoooottt!!! What an awesome NSV!!! -
I have to say, flying in an airplane without having to ask for the dreaded belt extender was one of my very first NSVs and it made my whole week! I was very comfortable and super excited about it. You are going to love the feeling. It really is not a small thing at all!

Wishing all a happy Chanukah and a happy New Year. My NSV was being able to get down on the floor and play the traditional dreidel game with my kids.

Hopefully November will be a good month for you so that you can gain some strength and start to feel better. The issue of dehydration is never going away because we can drink so little at one time. You just have to keep at it. Like mbrinmn says, leave drinks about the about the house. It works for me, too, and I alsways take a bottle in the car. Just last month I had a go-round with vomiting and diarrhea one night, and passed out in the bathroom twice.....hitting my head on the tub - twice, and ended up in the ER on IV fluids. keep your fluids up anyway you can, even if you have to resort to sugar free Gelatin or popsicles. Also, it took a few days to get the post-op weight loss going because I came home from the hospital 8 pounds heavier than when I went in. So, I had to lose that IV Fluid weight first. Hmmm, you could write yourself a letter about how you feel right now about your complications and your NSVs (non-surgical victories) both the good and the doubtful, and then put it away for a couple of years. Then look back and see what advice you would give to yourself now, and how you would cheer yourself up.
