Favorite Protein Shakes?
Nerdgrl replied to Ewants2shrink's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really like the Syntrax nectar shakes... though my favorite is premier Protein chocolate + ice + Water, milk or vanilla Greek yogurt + PB2 in a blender. It's so yummy! You can get Premier Protein on Amazon. You can also add sugar free pudding mix to any shake to mix up the flavor. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Day 11 what were u eating ?
KristenLe replied to natarshassleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@natarshassleeve If you are allowed mushed foods - try cottage cheese (small curd), greek yogurt, hummus, creamed/strained Soups (or blended soups - no pasta/rice), ricotta bake, chili (blend to same consistency). I'm allowed mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. - but that's only because the portions are so small and I'm still required to drink shakes for my Protein. -

DUMB question, especially this far out post-surgery...
LisaMergs replied to swizzle's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Kind of surprised at 6 months your restriction has lessened already? Maybe it's just me? I had RNY on March 23 and still no way I could exceed a 1/2 cup yet. Based upon my guidelines, the longer we can keep that volume closer to 1/2c, the better, and we shouldn't think about pushing it up until at least a year out. All that aside, I don't measure things like meat or fish. Simply because I still can not tolerate meats well at all- and when I have fish, I've become accustomed to eyeballing it. I've measured in the past enough to know what 3 oz looks like- and when I add a bite or two of veggies or fruit to it, I'm done. No help at all, but my suggestion would be to take your cooked Protein and get a good scale. Measure it after you've cooked it- and really LOOK at it. You need to know how to "eyeball" for times you are without a measuring cup or device. I consider food measures "after cooked, before consumption" I DO still measure out cottage cheese- that one is hard to eyeball- and yogurt always seems to come in 5 oz containers, so I typically leave the last couple of bites uneaten. Good luck! HW-282 SW/surgery March 23,2016 --272 CW-168 Lisa Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

What do i need in my cupboards and fridge when i get home?
Djmohr replied to Ninni's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
- I would make sure you have a good home made chicken broth. The crap in the can or box tastes like dirty dishwater. Make some now using chicken, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Strain it into containers. I lived on it for the first 3 weeks. - SF Jello, sf popsicles, sf pudding, 1% cottage cheese (small curd), greek yogurt Also that first week i was on a clear liquid diet...no Protein shakes. They had me sipping unsweetened apple juice mixed half and half with Water in addition to chicken broth, water, popsicles, jello. -
Hoping someone can tell me about chia seeds
AvaFern replied to Icantbelieveit's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I like chia seeds, although I really only eat them in cold oatmeal. The night before, I mix Greek yogurt, raw oats (the kind in the Quaker cardboard cylinder- nothing fancy), almond milk, pineapple bits with the juice from a can (canned fruit seems to work best for me, but any fruit is supposedly good), sometimes a little honey, but you don't really need it, and chia seeds. The chia seeds thicken it a little bit and gives it a texture I like. Then I let it sit in a mason jar overnight (I used the littlest jars- 4oz), and then in the morning I eat the cold oatmeal. It's yummy. If when you're further out and in maintenance phase you want a treat, the Pioneer Woman sprinkles a little sugar on the top and then uses a brulee torch to make it cold oatmeal brulee. It's not great for a diet, and I haven't done that yet, but when she made it last week on her show I thought...hmmm, that's a nice treat I should try sometime. -

These were recommended by the people who do my blood work. I include them in Breakfast and in my yogurt. Best to soak them first...https://draxe.com/chia-seeds-benefits-side-effects/. Can't say they have changed my life, but the evidence suggest there are positives. -

I need to get a clay head lol Cha cha cha chia...tge pottery thar grows. Fast forward 20 years and I'm thinking about eating them lol life is weird. Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App Every time my kid eats them in front of me, I sing the song. I can't help myself. She sprinkles them on everything from yogurt to ice cream to her smoothie'. Word of warning, though. Check your teeth after your meal. She often has them lodged in her tooth gaps after she eats. It's gross. -

Was just there yesterday. Was very hard to resist some of the pumpkin choices for sure! The macarons were calling my name, but I put them down! I've been playing with their organic pumpkin purée though! Overnight oats with plain 0% fage Greek yogurt, pumpkin purée, pumpkin pie spice and fairlife milk. Pumpkin purée, a small bit of applesauce, ricotta cheese and pumpkin pie spice I did splurge on some pumpkin "o's" Cereal and I actually didn't like t at all--too sweet and not enough pumpkin flavor. My chickens ate it.
