Gone For Good Club- August 2006
Tricia K. replied to CanadaSunshine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have 2 NSV's. 1) I purchased a size 12 tankini to wear on my Florida trip this weekend. 2) When I sit down, I now have that visible 'line' on the side of my legs that defines the quadricep muscle. Does that make sense? -

Paul - wow!! Great news about the independent film gig NSV thingie! That absolutely rocks! Again, thanks for all of the sweet comments. BTW, all... I've got a new NSV. I've gotten two... count'em... two film acting gigs recently, outside of the Farragut stuff! And... I have 4 more auditions coming up in the next two weeks! It is all independent or short film stuff (i.e. no-pay), but will allow me to build up a demo reel to go after paying stuff, and so far, it has all been speaking parts, and leads. I NEVER would have had the confidence to do this last year at 371lbs, and besides, not too many casting calls for huge guys out there... not for good roles, anyway! -
Nsv - Wearing Cords This Winter
guzel replied to SKCUNNINGHAM's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is an awesome nsv! I was just looking at my cords today and feeling sad because I've rubbed them smooth just like you said. I'm so glad to be getting sleeved next week. -
I have always loved to wear fine waled cords in the winter months - but I gave that up when I became obese because of the noise the cords made when I walked because my thighs rubbed together. There was so much friction, I'm surprised the pants didn't catch fire. The last pair I owned (way before my highest weight) had places on the inside of the thighs where the cords were rubbed smooth from the pressure. This winter, I have two very nice pair - one in black and one in camel. And, they don't make any noise when I walk in them. YEA!

Another NSV- Damn life is good!
Candace2314 replied to warrior68's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That's so awesome!!! Great NSV! -
This just sounds like a stall to me. You had surgery about a week after me and are down five or more pounds than I am - so I think we're both pretty much right on target on weight loss. I got stuck in a three week long stall towards the beginning. It was horrible, but it broke eventually. If you're doing all the right things the scale will eventually start to show it again. You're doing great, try and focus on all the NSVs you must be having =)

JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
jhaymom replied to SMED0308's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today is my 3 month surgiversary!!! I am so excited to say I am down 60lbs!!! My stats: HW 246 SW 240 CW 186 I went from sz 20/22 2xl to a l/xl and 14/16! It feels amazing I have had so many NSVs, like wearing sz LG scrubs at work, fitting in a roller coaster with my son, and just feeling amazing! I have to figure out how to post pics on here and I will do before and afters. I love my sleeve and loving my life! -
Okay, I have just experienced something I have NEVER thought would ever happen! I had to renew my drivers license. First since before WLS (3 1/2 yrs). I am Shocked. I LIKE the pic! I had to do a double take and then grinned from ear to ear! I'm sure people thought I was strange grinning widely at a DL! LOL Anybody had a similar NSV lately you want to share and give us some joy???

That's what I'm talkin about!!! Yea! Best NSV <3

Excellent NSV! Thanks! Dave

Okay I did the Fenton-thing last night -- super buffet dinner with tons of delicious food but I tried to eat as small amounts of things as I could including only 1/3 of the slice of cheesecake that came for dessert after a dinner that started with a glass of white wine, prime rib, etc. etc. I did skip the rolls -- not worth it. So, the total for that one meal was 1200 calories. Beware, it adds up fast at a fancy dinner. Fortunately I had done over 3500 calorie burn yesterday with two big snow shoveling hours burning up alot but I still should have gone for less. My NSV this morning is that I'm wearing a pair of jeans for the first time in years and years. Yes, they buttoned up without having to lay on the bed to zip them. Woo hoo! Okay, gentle reminder for myself and others -- no big eating today for SuperBowl parties tonight. I looked at the small bag of Doritos I bought and it said 170 calories for a serving and I thought okay, for a special treat, then I read the bag has 3.5 servings in it and it isn't a very big bag! OMG! I am going to have to count out or weigh a serving to not eat the whole bag. Go Steelers!

Hey Two days in a row!! Yee Haw! I figure since I am never going to get promoted, I may as well take a lunch... :heh: Dianne - good to see you... Sounds like you had a great time... Glad your DH is showing his appreciation in an appropriately lavish way. I can't wait to see the rock. Don't sweat the 1.5 lbs. You'll be well rid of that in no time. Just step away from the cookies! Trust me, nobody understands the cookie compulsion more than me. Patty - trepidation is to be expected. When money is tight, it's scary to give it to a stranger in hopes he will help. Everyone is thinking good thoughts for you. We'll get you banded, yet. Hugs!! My boss made a point of telling me that I was 2nd in line for the job and he knows that other opportunities will arise for me in the future. Don't know how much that actually means - but it was a warm fuzzy in the aftermath of the being pissed off. Kat - I can't see my toes, either. I am happy when I look down and my boobs block my belly from view. That was an actuall NSV for me... lol! No need to send the snakes to the gal... It isn't HER fault my boss hired her. Now, if you wanted to ship a few to HIM... lol! How is your daughter doing? Allison - Great to see you! 40 lbs Rocks! Since surgery? or since the Pre-op? I am keeping track of both, since I have been such a flake since the surgery. Seriously - I have only lost 25 lbs since my actual surgery date - but I lost 16 lbs the week before - so 36 lbs sounds better... Hopefully my renewed enthusiasm for (sorry about the E-word, folks) Exercise will help with that. Did you find a new job, yet? Or are you taking a little State Sponsored Vacation? Cindy - thank goodness, it isn't likely that I will be expected to train the gal who got my job - THIS time... but that has actually happened to me on several occassions. My question is: Doesn't the boss have ANY clue how much it pisses you off to have to train the person who got the job you applied for? Or is it some sadistic thing that they do for their own ammusement? Anyway - yes - we plan on going Saturday. Whether we actually make it out of the house or not is always a question, though. If you send me your cell number, I will give you a call. Eileenie - sorry about the shirts. They looked like they had potential. Bummer. Hope Olivia is doing ok. Hugs!! :bounce: Well - lunch is over again. Hugs to everybody else. Hope you post again, soon! Irene

Mer... I didn't think you could stay away from the sewing, I know you love it too much! What's the interview? Dawn... Congrats on the NSV. Good morning everyone, Well I have a couple of NSV I'd like to share. 1st - A couple of weeks ago I was finally able to wear my wedding ring again!!!! I refused to have it sized up so I hadn't been able to wear it for a couple of years. I was just wearing different rings. 2nd - being able to put on T-shirts right out of the dryer and not having to stretch them to make them loose. YEAH!!!! Hope everyone's doing well. Riahg - hang in there. I know it seems like forever but you're more than halfway there. You wont always have to do all this documenting. I think you're doing fantastic. Dawn
