  1. Hi May Sleevers I thought by now everyone sleeved in May would probably have settled into a bit more of a routine or at least gotten past some of the initial surgery questions. I imagine some of us have some great NSV's as well as some challenges. Soo.....I thought I would send up a general question to get a discussion started. I would love to hear how everyone else is doing. I am going to post my progress/thoughts below.

    First NSV

My first NSV was having only one chin.

    ❤MARCH 2019 CHALLENGE❤

The NSV’s are game changers for sure!! I’ve gone down an inch in my neck, my arms and breast in a week. I’m like a melting candle!! It’s starting from the top and I’m having faith it’s moving on down 😂

    ❤MARCH 2019 CHALLENGE❤

That is so true. It is hard to be logical in the midst of a struggle. I'm trying to stay away from the scale and look at the NSV's that I've accomplished.

    Holy Cow! - NSV

WOW!!! And CONGRATS!!! I know and understand what a GREAT feeling it is to be in AWE when you realize that you and your daughter are wearing the same size. At the beginning of this school year, when my daughter and I were out shopping, we stopped at the Guess store to buy new jeans. We ended up buying the exact same jeans, at the exact same size; the only difference that mine are regular length and hers are short. I was in ABSOLUTE disbelief. Anyway, congrats on your AMAZING NSV!!!

6 weeks out, tired, grumpy, & I miss food

I am so sorry, but your venting made me laugh..So many things that we all experienced and the buyers remorse shining through your complaints. Hold on kid it is going to get better. I promise you. Life is going to start to hand you some pretty cool experiences called NSV. And then you will say I am so glad I did this. Mean while it takes time to get used to all the changes and rules..of our new life style. But it will become very manageable for you as well as routine very soon. Take the time to really enjoy exploring new foods that would be interesting to try. And then for sure you will have conversations about food. The whole reason you had this surgery in the first place was because of your addiction to the chemical reaction in your brain and lack of self control while enjoying the chemical reaction in your brain. But if you learn to make good, nutritional choices and make them tasty. There will be lots to talk about and you will be helping your body as well. I am never hungry either and have not been hungry all along...If i did not have Reactive Hypoglycemia I probably would not eat as often as I do and then I would be smaller then I am now...... Trust me girl it will all come together and you are going to be so proud of yourself!!!!!!!
  7. Tonight I decided to kick off my weekend with a good closet clean out (it's such an exciting life I lead :-). My closet has shrunk so much since I started losing weight, all my clothes actually fit into one closet. I decided I would try on everything in there and came to a size 10 dress I ordered on clearance last month. IT ZIPPED all the way up!!!! I couldn't believe it. I am ecstatic! SIZE 10. Full disclosure: it is tight and my bulges show, but it feels comfortable. Also, the size 10 shirt I ordered is still too tight to wear, but I know I'll get there some day. I posted a picture in my album, but I'll have my husband take some full body shots later this weekend once I'm in all my under armor gear.

    August Summer Challenge

So I was sad on Wed because the scale wasn't moving, but then my future mother in law measured me over the weekend for a refitting of my dress and she discovered I lost 2 inches in the belly and 2 inches in the hips! Yay for NSVs!
  9. Super new to the forum, ummmm what is a NSV? From the context clues is is something good. I am sure there will be an increase in your water bill...wink wink
  10. So my girls and I went to LB tonight to check out some new clothes and I could not believe that I was fitting into 18/20 and 22 clothes. I started this journey in size 34. I have lost over 60 pounds so far and boy what a difference. I came home and tried on some of the new pants for my husband and his reaction was priceless. "wow, now there's the butt I remember". Thought I was going to pee my pants from laughing so hard. Best day ever!

May 2006 Band Crew ~ August Chat

My weight's started coming off again...yippee! I just may have beat the depo plateau! I feel like I've climbed out of the black pit to find a beautiful rainbow... OK, that may be overly dramatic but that's how I feel. I also have a BMI NSV! It's below 32 for the first time in a zillion years.... Plus I'm 5 pounds away from the September Challenge goal. :peace: This is a great WLS day...and I intend to start it by toasting with my morning Protein shake to all of us on this journey together and give thanks for everyone's support.
  12. I hope that's not the only thing your doing in the shower. LOL CONGRATS! This is definitely an NSV!
  13. Yesterday I went for a 1 mile walk. Then a few hours later I took my 2 year old niece for about a 1/4 mile walk around our subdivision to look at lights. She was waving and blowing kisses to all the blow up characters. When I got home I cried. 3 months ago I never would have entertained doing something like this because I would have been so tired and wouldn't have had the energy. Last night have me more motivation to keep pushing forward because that simple walk told me if I don't succeed I am going to be missing out on a lot of awsome things. We have a littlw ice cream parlor that is only open during summer and I need to get ready to take my baby girl for walks ao she can get her ice cream cones this summer

Had a great NSV today. My spa has normal/plus size robes for us ladies. Today the tech led me over to the lockers with the normal size robes. Could hardly believe it!

Anyone From Buffalo, Ny Out There?

As 2013 comes to a close, what a year it has been! Although I have not met any of you face to face, I share a special bond with each and every one of you. WE ARE CHAMPIONS!!!! WE MADE IT TO THE LOSER'S BENCH!!!! Through the up and downs, the good and not so good, it's been one heck of a ride! My pray for all as we enter the New Year, is that we continue to pursue and achieve our goals snd dreams that we, maybe thought were impossible, we enjoy more NSV's, better health, and we continue to rock those new outfits in smaller sizes (lol!). I thank all of you for the support, encouragement, and concern shown to me and one another!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! YOU GUYS ROCK♥
  21. That's a NSV Janice and much more satisfying than the number on the scale. Please remember not to compare yourself to others. If you do, you will always find something lacking in your journey. It's your weight loss journey and it will come off however it comes off. Also...you did not get large overnight and you won't get small overnight either. Just follow your doctor's directions, eat healthy, exercise, and you will get there, I promise.
  22. Thanks so much! Biggest benefit is definitely the way I'm able to move, run up a flight of stairs, carry in groceries without huffing and puffing. Basically the things that non-obese people take for granted! Favorite snack is greek yogurt, esp Dannon light n' fit caramel apple pie. Best NSV is hard, b/c there have been so many. I would choose buying clothes off the clearance rack. The reason being is that clearance rack clothes always seem to be size S or XS. Now I'm small enough to get the great deals! LOL!

  25. Absolutely Feisty! So day eight post op and a couple of incision stitches had to go...My 3 smaller incisions stitches removed this morning. My skin was starting to heal over them, and that's a no no. The two others I will give a few move days. In other news. I am able to swallow my antibiotic rather than dumping the contents in Jello NSV....only 2 days left of those and I will add the multiV. Then probably calcium. My doc says add the iron if needed after healed.
