    Very first NSV :)

Hello Cakegirl!!! I'm new here. Just wondering what does NSV stand for? Btw, congrats on your success.
  2. Cindy C

    Very first NSV :)

That's awesome. It's the first in a long line of NSV's you're going to experience. Things like that really help to keep you on track! Congrats!

    Very first NSV :)

Today was the first time that someone who doesn't know about the surgery has noticed my weight loss! My friends who know about the surgery are REALLY watching me, to see if they can see the weight falling off. I'm almost self-conscious that I haven't lost "enough" to "show" them or something. But today, I was walking down my driveway, and my neighbour stopped me and commented that I've been getting thinner, and good on me! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! You couldn't wipe the smile off my face for about 3 hours! :D
  4. Sunny, I'm a slow loser too and I was sleeved almost 10 days before you! It's a drag when I don't see the scale moving but I try to concentrate on other NSV's. Like the fact that ONE of my chins is gone (still have 2). lol. and the fact that my clothes fit better than they have in years. I'm sure your body is like mine and it's taking its time to adjust. WE WILL LOSE this weight. And this might sound funny to you, but I found when I was able to start eating, and my calories and carbs went up, that is when the scale moves. Did you join myfitnesspal? If so, look for me on there. My user name is prinxessdeb. Good luck sweetie and keep up the great work!
  5. Hi Guys and Gals, My most recent pics I feel great! I had such an awesome week between self realization, NSV's, my doc's appointment, and I lost 2 more pounds!
  6. I went to the orthopedic doc again today, to see if I could get out of the d**n boot cast (from spraining my ankle a month ago cleaning my closet to find skinny clothes). No luck - one more week with the boot. Then, four weeks in an ankle stabilizer. This contraption laces up like a toe-less boot, with laces from above my toes to my shin. Then, it has three straps to completely imobilize the ankle joint. Anyway, the point is, the tech needed a size EXTRA SMALL stabilizer! It took him three different ones to get one that fit. I have never been a size extra small EVER IN ANYTHING! I entered this world weighing 9 pounds and kept going from there. No part of my body is extra small - except maybe my eyelashes or my patience. This is a silly NSV, but it pleased me so much, I laughed out loud.
  7. I got the new Lane Bryant catalog today in the mail....I thumbed through it...and tossed in the trash!! Woo Hoo....don't have to shop at LB anymore. It felt good
  8. I bought a super cute flared pair of size 16 jeans from Old Navy! They are adorable and fit perfectly, make my butt look good!!!!! YAY! I havn't been able to buy jeans there for years in the regular section!

    NSV shout outs

My first NSV only 2 weeks post- op has me super excited! I couldn't wait for the moment I could cross my legs again, and would you believe at dinner the other night I was able to cross them under a table even! Woooohoooo! 2 weeks and 21.5 lbs down feels amazing!

    NSV

There is this one guy in my office that makes me blush. You know the one; ultra good looking, nice, suave, the whole package. Anyway, he's been commenting on my weight loss for the last couple of weeks. Well yesterday, I was walking in a door as he was walking out. He stopped as he was walking out and was like 'Hi Julia' as I was walking away to my desk. He didn't just walk out quickly, he paused for a minute. I think he was checking out my fanny :blushing: I just said hi and kept walking. It's nice to have the fellas take notice again. J.

    NSV!

I had an NSV yesterday also....There is a chair in my manager's office that I avoid. It's one of those computer chairs that has the arms on it. My butt has never fit in that chair. Yesterday it did with ease. I was amazed.

    NSV!

I also had a NSV today..I am buying my nephews class ring, and he had all of the sizers there at home..when I got married in April 2008 my ring was a size 10, I put the size 9 on and it fit perfectly...so one ring size down!!

  17. so today I took my 3 year old to the park. He likes to swing and of course I don't, I never fit. So today when he wanted me to swing I sat on the seat AND I FIT! Pretty excited about this.

    55 pounds lost!!!!

Weird but I noticed today there's less of my legs to shave...that counts as an NSV, right? LOL
  19. THE LEGS IN THIS POST BELONG TO GOOGLE IMAGES, NOT ME. NO LEGS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS POST. As I was sitting here reading about all of your NSV's only seconds ago, I had one of my own. I comfortably crossed my legs not once... but twice! I wasn't even planning to do it. I was sitting like that for a moment before I realized it. For me, losing enough weight to cross my legs comfortably just once was an NSV. To accomplish a relaxed leg-tangle, without it taking effort to keep it that way, is pretty awesome for me.

    Wierd NSV's

Yeah, seems like I would always have the smallest attendant on the planet pushing my fat a$$ down the hall in a chair or gurney too. It must be a cinch for them now. Yeah, mine used to be as big as a tent and I still had a breeze in the back! It was embarrassing having to wait while they fetched the "special" gowns for me. I always hated this, I had a stress test last sumer, they had to put the cuff on my forearm because they couldn't find the jumbo cuff - and I KNOW it doesn't work right there. Makes me wonder if the entire test was even remotely correct using it there. Great NSV's - keep 'em comin'!

    NSV

When I started this journey I was wearing 4x Scrubs at work. I had shrunk down to wearing 3x scrubs, but lately I noticed that thet were lose one me. When I picked up my 5 sets of scrubs today from the uniform room here at work I asked for 2X. I am wearing them now. YAY
  22. Well, I received a great NSV this week from the results of my blood work, it was my 3 month post op appointment. I have my Diabetes completely under control now with no medication. My A1C test ( 3 month blood sugar average) was 10.2 before surgery, it is now down to 6.3. My Cholesterol was 237 before surgery, it is now 138. My triglycerides were 286 before surgery, they are now 96. The sleeve has been such a great tool to provide the restriction needed to lose weight. I say tool because you still have to eat right and exercise but it is doing its job. I take no medication at all and I feel great. I am well on my way to my goal weight with 65 lbs lost as of today . If I did not lose another pound, this has already been a huge success for me.
  23. Just had a scare with my heart 9 moths post up, but spent about 20 hours in hospital either way. Weird NSV's,, not feeling guilty as they pushed me down the halls in the stretchers. Not having to wear the "bigger, different gown" No need for the bigger BP cuff. Now for the really weird one, I wear a hair piece in the front because at 7 months I lost my bangs. Well I have SUPER UBER SELF CONSCIOUS about this! So I have to a head cat scan and suddenly I remember I have it on and I have to stop the the scan to I can remove it, well when it was done suddenly the tech and a "transporter" are telling me it is done and I am saying don't look, I have to put this back on. On the way back to the ER the Transporter, and Asian male ( I think) stops my gurney and in empty hall and says the following to me. " Don't be worried about your outside when you are such a beautiful person on in side it shine all around you" I was move to tears and told him my story and told him I had been feeling so guilty about feeling so self conscious about my hair when there are woman with cancer who loose all theirs. Then he says to me " My dear that is what makes you a beautiful person". I made sure to tell my nurse what a nice man he was, but honestly I am going to write a letter to the hospital with the times and date and make sure he and some very other nice people at the hospital are recongnized, as it was a new hospital for me and very very long time since I felt so good about visiting a hospital. They have won my business.
