    Airplane Nsv

I've almost always been overweight but when I flew last year it really made me realize just how big I had gotten. Both flights were embarrassing and uncomfortable. I am 7 weeks out and will be flying again in the fall - I can't wait to have the same NSV! Congrats on your success!

    225 pounds please help

No problem with the English, Betje! Though your food sentence was a touch confusing. Did you mean that you only eat meat? No veggies, Soup or munchies? Or that you only eat soup, munchies & veggies... you don't eat meat? I have a bunch of questions to look at as possible issues: Have you been journaling your food? If not, you might start there as a place to look at what's slowing you down. If you have been journaling, what is your average calorie intake? Are you full between meals? What is your fill level? Are you eating mushies/liquid/soft foods at all? How are you doing fighting sweets? Do you exercise? If you do, what is your average? How many times per week, for how long & what intensity? Are you getting all of your fluids in? Minimum of 64 ounces? Are you taking your Vitamins & Calcium? Are you getting enough Fiber? Are you regular? When you were gaining, did you pause at 225 for a while? How long? If you have access to a nutritionist or physical trainer, make appointments with them for a check-up. It never hurts to just make sure you're on the right track! I'm guessing this is just a plateau. You've done awesome with your weight loss!! Your body may just need time to get used to your new weight & get ready for another push. Take a status check & make sure you're doing everything right. If you are, then just ignore the scale for a bit & focus on your NSVs (non-scale victories) -- clothes that fit better, ability to do things you couldn't before, etc. Good luck & congrats on the 61 pounds gone forever!

    Exercise/Food Log/NSV's

On March 31, 2006 (I turned 39), I started a lifestyle change plan. I started exercising 4-5 times weekly on April 2nd along with high protein, low carb eating. I usually have: Breakfast: coffee and 1 EAS drink Snack: pork rinds or fruits/veggies Lunch: a chicken salad with cheese and dressing at lunch or South Beach Diet Wraps with salad Snack: cheese & crackers or 1 EAS drink if I get hungry before dinner Dinner with the family - just smaller portions and very limited carbs plus a salad Snack - after dinner if I get snack hungry its another EAS drink or pork rinds. 4/2 ~~ until 4/17 -- Started out at 3 min @ 1.1 ugh! Im so out of shape, then adding 2 min a day and .1 4/18 ~~ I finally worked up to where I can run YES RUN on my treadmill 2 min at 2.7mp; throughout my 25 min workout, I did 5 times of running! 4/19~~ I walked/ran on the treadmill for 27min 4/20 ~~ I walked/ran on the treadmill for 30 min - 2 min running @ 3.0, walk 5 - 7 min @ 2.5/2.7, 1.33 min running and crashed and burned :hurt from the shin splints in my left leg, walked 3-5 min then ran again 2 min walked the rest of the time. 4/21 ~~ had a major allergic reaction to Barium sulfate last night so I have been sick all night so no exercising today and no CT SCAN ugh 4/22 ~~ woke up feeling totally better from the allergic reaction. Going shopping/walking at the mall with family. Do I get an extra point for buying all things for kids new rooms 1/2 price at Disney store? walked 1 -2 hours then walked 1 hour more @ grocery store 4/23 ~~ was supposed to go to the Zoo but 40% chance of rain. We went to JCPenney's madhouse friends and family day LOL my daughter works there and I got an extra 20% off we must have walked the store 4 or 5 times - then went to Sam's club /flex weight trained while pushing 2 kids that weigh 100lbs total and 4 bags of 50lb pool salt! lol 4/24 ~~I walked/ran on the treadmill for 24 min - 2 min running @ 3.1, walk 5 - 7 min @ 2.5/2.7, 1 min running, walked 3-5 min then ran again 2 min walked the rest of the time. Shin splints in my left leg still bothering me. 4/25 ~~ 4/26 ~~ 4/27 ~~ I walked/ran on the treadmill for 27 min - walk 12 min @ 2.7; 2 min running @ 3.3, walked 3-5 min then ran again 2 min walked the rest of the time. Loading up with water before and wrapping my left leg helped some. 4/28 ~~ Had to do bookkeeping - no exercise 4/29 ~~ Walked 2 hours at the zoo, trailing behind a 3 & 5 year old running LOL 4/30 ~~ Walked in Sam's and Publix pushing 100 lbs extra in the buggy with kids - Sams added 4 bags of 50 lb salt! ugh May 1 ~~ Sick kids May 7 ~~ Pushed the kids around WD - had to go out even with them sick but getting well May 8 ~~ Started walking at 2.4 mph to warm up - hmm maybe the week off helped, I did 2.9 mph for 27 min and no pain or shin splints or maybe my legs are just getting stronger? 161 calories burned and 1.15 mi walked May 9 ~~ 0 May 10 ~~ 29 min @ 2.9 180 cals/1.20 mile May 11 ~~ 30 min @ 2.0-2.3 155 cals/1.06 mile - taking it easy today May 12 ~~ May 13 ~~ May 14 ~~

  6. Diane: I just caught up on this thread.............. WOOOOOOOOT! WOOOOOOOOOT! on the jeans NSV! I'll be waiting to see the pics!
  7. Congrats !!!! I'm SO looking forward to boots. I've ALWAYS wanted a pair of " Horse Riding Boots" , you know, up to the knee, barely a heel. I cant get my foot into anything like that - for one thing, my feet have gone flat over the years with the weight , and secondly , my calves are too fat also. But the day I can get into them ?? I use them as my Dangling Carrot, so to speak :-) I also had an NSV of my own a few nights ago. I sat on the edge of the bed, getting my bf up for work, and i was able to ....... ( drum roll .... ) Cross my legs!!! I know it seems so trivial to most, but i havent been able to cross my legs since my early college years ! I was just talking to him, and i realized "my legs are crossed" ! Who can i share this with ??? LOL  NSV's are the best, aren't they ??
  8. exactly...my plan is to measure my success by NSV's and not numbers! I just dont want to have the surgery- and because I'm slow losing, be afraid that i wont be successful. all i really want is to be under 200! thats 50 pounds! surely i can do that. LOL! you are all inspirations to us pre surgery. thank you for still being here and helping us. i have 10 days left! my doc is removing my band laporoscpy, and then doing my RNY with a robot for the first time. (of course- if he can) i want to say the robot is the reason for my nerves...but i would be scared having any surgery. i think im phobic! i had a c-section without drugs in 99. they just cut me open and took him out.

    A Size 16 NSV

Congratulations on a great NSV and being able to shop for a normal size.
  11. Hi all, I'm also so glad for the OP posting this I'm 13 days post op and everything has gone really great. The only pain I ever really had was first thing out of the op in recovery from the gas- which after "something to help" from the recovery Doctor I was absolutely fine when I woke up in my room. My program allowed 3 nights in hospital which although I didn't think I totally need it, it was very nice to be looked after I didn't need any pain meds during my stay- and I was able to toodle about my room and the hallway for little wanders about. My stitches were tender but absolutely fine. The first days at home also meant first purées - I was so worried about all the horror stories about not being able to stomach foods that I was very apprehensive, but it's all gone down very well and I haven't felt sick once- especially when you stick to your measures. The only problem is maybe wanting to try a bit more challenging foods when you feel too brave but I know I have another week of purées so I'm making sure to resist the urge. I've also been walking an average of 4-6kms a day this week to get my stamina back up (back to work on Monday )- I've really been enjoying my danders about and 10kgs down since the pre-op diet has even meant hills feel easier One thing I need to stop doing is weighing myself every day- there has been a wee bit of a stall last couple of days which I've been disheartened about but I've realised weighing every day isn't a heathy way of monitoring- i need to focus on the "NSV's" like being able to walk up hills with out getting out of breath 2 steps in I'm excited to see what the next few months bring. All the best everyone! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Weight loss can be embarassing

Great NSV! You have made my day with this story! Congrats on losing your pants!
  13. Karen: Congratulations! Enjoy your pregnancy...it's a great time! Deb: My sympathies on your dad's passing...and big smack of bad karma to the jackass who broke into your house! Lynn: Love the NSV (re: recuperation time). They just keep coming! Woohoo! Crystal: How are you doing with the 'hunger' control? Not much new going on here. Just trying to tweak my WOE so that it's working at optimum to control my blood sugar levels. For any diabetics here, I highly recommend Dr. Bernstein's "Diabetic Solution". His solution for diabetics (Type 1 or 2) is similar to what Atkins recommends for everyone, although there are some slightly different things because Bernstein's goal is to get consistently 'normal' blood sugar readings for both Type 1 and 2 diabetics. So goodbye my lovely tomatoes...which I could have on Atkins but can't according to Bernstein. For the anti-Atkins (low carb, high fat) folks, Bernstein does a much better job at showing and explaining the science behind why fat is not the problem than Atkins did. I'm debating about visiting my folks this weekend, but good grief it's more complicated when you have to pack up and take food as well. We'll see if I have the mental energy for that much pre-planning. Have a good one! .

I don't really want to get into details, but at least you might understand why I haven't been around much...accountability. I did have a NSV this week. I measured my waist for new work pants about a week ago and the tape said 38.5, so I thought 38 size mens pants would work...they were too big! I am now in a 36. They are slightly snug, but actually surprisingly comfortable considering I thought they'd be too tight! One more size and I'll be even with DH. LOL I SO look forward to being smaller than him.

I hid my scale this week to concentrate on some NSV's. It is time to give up some tops, the neckline drops below my bra at not the best of times☺️

I've missed all of you, I've been going to school. Anyways, this week I had an NSV! A lady at work was giving some nice jackets away, size Large. Normally I never looked at them. Then it dawned on me to look. I picked one for me, and it fit! I'm still in awe!! Thank you Band!! Yay.

Awww...thank you. I am actually wearing 42's in this pic and they are baggy. I only have one other pair of jeans a size 40 and they were in the laundry. I am waiting a while before I buy more. These are barely two months old. Funny thing about the belt. That is my original belt that barely fit to be buckled when I started. It is such a great NSV seeing how it wraps around me.

NSV went out shopping for a Christmas party and naturally picked up a 3x top. Wouldn't you know it, too big! 2x is fitting and not even snug. Who would have thought. 2x would make me smile! So happy to read everyone's NSVs!

Several recent NSV's popped into my mind! 1. My Mom witnessing and commenting on younger men checking me out! 2. There is now room in my chair for the little doggie to lay next me!! She loves that and so do I!! 3. But mostly, just being able to do anything I want now! Including keeping up with my 4 year old nephew. 4. Lastly, but certainly not least. I love working out because of the workout clothes! LOL!!

Well I had 6 months PCP required by my ins so my process started in March. I took that time to quit some bad eating habits and get in an exercise routine. I was banded a month ago. Having said all that I am now 46lbs lighter. Well here is my Nsv.........I had a goal shirt.....a shirt I really love and pulled it out of the closet and have been walking by it all day not wanting to be discouraged. Well hubby asked me what that shirt was for and insisted I try it one. Well it buttoned and was actually to large in the bust area. Yeah. Feels pretty good. I am trying on some of those clothes that I think are too small
