Lost too much weight - ha ha
KellyL replied to 2BSkinny's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is a cool NSV really, and I think a lot of it has to do with the way we seem to lose weight. The scales don't drop for some of us but we're losing inches galore so we think we're not really getting small enough to be able to fit in way smaller clothes yet. My scales seem stuck but my clothes still seem to get looser all the time. haha The other thing is losing faster than we've ever lost weight in the past. It's really difficult for the brain to catch up sometimes lol. So you're absolutely right, we need to get in the habit of trying on our closet clothes fairly regularly! Thanks for the reminder! Congrats! -
So today I am 5 weeks out. I have lost 42 lbs. Had a week stall when TOM came to visit but all is well now. Some of the NSV's I have encountered: Going from a size 18 to a size 12 pants and XXL shirts to L. All of my clothes are way too big now except for the ones I held on to and thank goodness I did. Not getting out of breath to do anything.... and I do mean anything. My boyfriend putting his arms around my waist and being able to grab his elbows with his hands...and commenting on it. Ex-boyfriends seeing me and telling me how great I look. I have a ton but I have saved the best for last........ And sex is so worth it now!!!! Ok, ok. I know TMI .... but it is so true.lol I hope everyone else is doing great as well!

I am 6 weeks out and have had two awesome NSV's. First.... I walk and run on treadmill every night. My husband finally decides to join me in the exercise room for the first time last night. As I was running he just stared at me and said "I am amazed!". He couldn't believe I was actually running! :-) Second.... Took my kiddos to a program and my three year old got tired....when he climbed in my lap in the small seat, I actually had a lap for him to sit in and neither one of us was uncomfortable! Woohoo! I am loving the sleeve!!!

Haha, it's like finding Waldo with bones. Congrats on the NSV! -
NSV got into a tight size 14! OMG I have not worn a 14 in over 25 years! Also bought new brooks, my old ones were a men 9.5 EEE, my new ones are a women s 9.5 ! Who knew are feet would loose so much! Have also gone from a size 11.5 ring to an 83/4. Weight loss has slowed down, but it is still coming off, only .8 of a pound and I will be in wonderland with 40 left to my goal. how is everyone else doing? Would love to hear about your nsv Brenda

1 Year Anniversary- 60 pounds down and non-scale victories
thsisme replied to yl2010's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
We share many of the same NSVs. My most cherished NSV is that I have learned to forgive myself when I fall off the wagon and that all is not lost, but rather to jump back onto that wagon and hang on for dear life! I used to beat myself up and give up. No longer will I do that! The only thing that I have not learned and probably will never learn is to love my workouts! hate, hate exercise, but it is a mandatory thing in my life, so I just get it done! All in all not a bad year. I like the new and improving me! congrats yl2010...wishing you continued success! -
WOW - What a fantastic NSV and moment of pride - I can't wait to feel that way. CONGRATULATIONS on your success!!

I was at a friends little ones bday party. They own a coffee shop soothe party was there during off hrs. So I was behind the counter making espresso and I hear my friend say "that's Pasquini" I look up a a woman who I have known for about 9 yrs, though I generally only see her a few times a yr. Is standing there talking to my friend and she says, "who?" my friend replies again, and she stares at me and then says "Oh MY God!!!! Wow, now if you want to reinvent yourself THAT is how to do it!" and goes on for a while about it to my friend. About 30 min later I hear my friend laugh and say "that's Pasquini, you know him. Yes you do, (mentions my kids names) no really" and laughs. some more. :-). A good moment

In order to help me stay focussed to goal, I joined a fitness class yesterday, which meant I got weighed in and then had a motivational talk, and did 45mins aerobics. I am RUBBISH at exercse, I hate it, I avoid it, and become incredibly embarrassed having to wobble around in front of others, so whilst worrying about all of this I managed to wander into the "HIGH IMPACT" half of the class - this is my frst aerobics class in at least 10 years, so I realised I was trapped and about to be humiliated - GREAT!! Anyway after a couple of minutes embarrassment I look around a realise that I am actually doing well, I'm working hard, but its not killing me, I'm working up a sweat, but I am not woofing like a walrus just to get my breath, and before I knew it the class was over, I'd high impacted my way through it without a hitch! MASSIVE NSV! I held my own, had fun, and at the end the instructor came up to me and said "wow Claire, I can really tell how often you must work out, you were great!" - I didn't have the heart to tell her that I move less than your average sloth most days! Needless to say I'll be going back next week

We could start a weekly weigh in plus any updates...sv, nsv, rants, raves, etc? Are Saturdays a good day? -
Went to Renaissance Festival, walked around for 4 hours and only had to sit and rest twice, and that's cause it was muggy out. NSV!

I took my 3 grown sons camping a couple wks ago. We were swimming and racing up and down the river when my son stopped me and said "Mom look at our empty chairs just siiting there. I am so proud of you Mom" You see, I am usualy siiting in one of those chairs WATCHING my famlly enjoy vacation. Two miracles happened that trip. My very health/fitness crazed son has never told me was proud of me (he is 26) and I was active the entire trip!

Yay! NSV's are the best! Seeing movement on the scale is great, but getting NSV's compliments are good for the spirit. Congrats, Karen

So I started out in 24 size jeans, the other day i went to our storage unit to pick up some older clothes that use to fit me for when the time comes, and I tried on a pair curious to see how far i needed. Well they fit! 18's! Then I tried on the next, and they fit. I ran into the living room and showed my mom and started dancing around. I then ran back to my room and tried on the rest. They all fit! I 'm so excited! :D

MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!

NSV= non scale victory, like getting into your skinny jeans, running a mile, whatever. -
Grocery shopping with my kids is never a pleasant experience. After picking my 13 year old son up from an event yesterday I was forced to take him with me to pick some things up for a party we were having last night. Rather than making deserts, I decided last minute to pick up a variety of things from the bakery section of the grocery store. Everything looked wonderful and I jokingly said to my son "it's never a good idea to let me run loose in the bakery while I'm on a diet". My son replied "Uh, mom, you don't need to be on a diet anymore and should be able to eat this if you want to. Just saying..." I have always felt bad that I was overweight when all the friends moms looked like supermodels. Hearing my son say I shouldn't be on a "diet" anymore was priceless! Lisa

Last week, I only lost 0.1kg, which is nothing really. I was a bit worried that I'd stopped losing weight until my first fill, but this week it's dropped off again. I don't weigh-in "officially" until tomorrow, but I jumped on the scales this morning and I'm already down 1kg Very pleased about that. I started a thread yesterday about my first NSV - my neighbour stopped me in my driveway and complimented me on "getting skinner", which was thrilling! I'm fitting into clothes I've never worn before (bought them without trying them on and then found out they were too tight)... And a funny one - my bras are fitting better (less side/back fat), but my boobs actually look bigger! Because my belly is shrinking! FINALLY, I've been waiting for the belly to shrink for 4 years since my daughter was born!!! I stayed looking pregnant all that time! SOOOO pleased with how this is all turning out!

I KNOW I'm not supposed to compare my weightloss to others buuuuut.....
staceybea replied to Sunny702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love your "chin" comment! I too have lost one of my two chins. Actually the first place my husband noticed my weight loss was in my face. Sunny, I'm a slow loser too and I was sleeved almost 10 days before you! It's a drag when I don't see the scale moving but I try to concentrate on other NSV's. Like the fact that ONE of my chins is gone (still have 2). lol. and the fact that my clothes fit better than they have in years. I'm sure your body is like mine and it's taking its time to adjust. WE WILL LOSE this weight. And this might sound funny to you, but I found when I was able to start eating, and my calories and carbs went up, that is when the scale moves. Did you join myfitnesspal? If so, look for me on there. My user name is prinxessdeb. Good luck sweetie and keep up the great work! -
NSV is for Non scale Victory. Pretty exciting when it happens. Tanya

Sleeve is not cooperating today
HDubSleevery replied to HDubSleevery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oooh the dehydration could be a factor. Between the head cold, the Nyquil, and an experiment with the blender and a decaf coffee smoothie last night I may have needed some fluids. I had some applesauce, some watermelon, and some yogurt today so I think things settled down later in the morning. The GREAT news is that I finally get it! I made a variation of Eggface's ricotta bake for dinner and put two tablespoons on my plate. I was thinking a tablespoon would be about an ounce. I ate half of what was on my plate and I got that "don't eat another bite" feeling. I used to have a problem with binging so I really had to think about not putting the next bite in my mouth. My brain said "do it" and my stomach said "don't you dare". I cleared my plate and have been fine ever since! I am gonna count this as an NSV. It was the first time that I really felt like I was having a normal meal since the pre-op diet. I can see light at the end of the tunnel and it is SO great! (I have a 2 year old and so I use the same plates and silverware that she does. It helps me feel like I am having a "right size" portion. LOL!) This board ROCKS! -
Cindy C - thanks!!! HeavyDutyQ-tee, NSV = "Non scale Victory"
