The sizes probably have to do with how there bodies are proportioned. I dunno! When I was 160 (years ago) I wore a 10. Im now at 202 and in a very loose bout to fall off my butt 16. I read on the forum that you lose a size around every 15 lbs so that sounds about right for sizes. Myself personally, I dont want anyone to see my "jelly rolls". Ive gotten good at hiding them over the years. Everyone except my closest friend that has seen my jellyrolls always said my size was proportionate with my body frame. BS I say! When I got back from HI (gone 12 days) my best friends eyes bout popped out her head. I only lost 6 more lbs while I was gone but apparently the size finally started dropping. Talk about a feel good moment. She said OMG, you lost a ton while you were gone, you look so good! its so nice to hear those things NSV*** Neither of my teenage boys know what I did. I have had bleeding stomach ulcers for years and they think those were repaired. My oldest (16) has a BIG mouth and no concept of social boundries so I didn't tell them. I have only told my parents my baby brother, but not the older one (his wife is a b***h and he would tell her) and my 2 closest friends. Anyway when we got home from HI I noticed my oldest son kept looking at me funny. finally he said, are you losing weight or something? Haha! I said yea it was all that hiking and dieting Im doing! Sweet!

Had my 2nd Pre Op appointment. Had blood taken, stood in front of an x ray thing and swallowed sweet chalky water. Was told I lost 21 pounds since just following the Nut. I have no problen loosing the weight it is keeping it off is the problem. I had to fight every urge not to stop at Taco Bell to "celebrate". Took everything I had to drive past. Even had my turn signal on and changed my mind at the last second. I have lost 21 pounds and not many people noticed. Lol..that is ok. I have alot NSV's- pants fit better..I am on the last hole in the belt, wedding ring comes off easily now... -

I'm up, I walked and sweated and even did 10 reps with my barbells (7 days post band removal, gotta start somewhere.) My NSV for today is that I'm sitting here at my computer with my legs corssed! Before my band, I'd have been sprawled out like a cow waiting to be milked, that's only if cows sprawl (city girl here.) I'm off to a 400 calorie Breakfast of mush now. Good luck to everyone, you may need it because I'm feeling mighty serious right now! -

Hi, 244 down from 256 makes 8 pounds lost, as of the end of the Sundance Film Festival! and an amazing NSV - After starting out in men's size 46 jeans, now I fit comfy in size 38's; a little tight in 36's; and I bought a pair of 34's so I could stare at them until the time I fit into them comfortably. Once that happens, I figure I should start thinking about stopping losing weight. Tonight, I tried on the 34's just to see if I could even pull them over my legs. They snapped closed and zipped up! ... My wife said "you're getting too skinny. Once you fit comfortably in those 34's, you are DONE losing weight!" :whoo: Yee haw! -

Weigh-in, 1/3/06: 220 Debby, can you clarify the end date? I'm a little confused about whether the challenge ends on 3/1 or 3/31... My goal either way is to make it to Onderland by the end of the challenge. It's ambitious, but I think I can do it if I work out. My workout goal is 3-4 days a week, 45 minutes at a time. NSV for this past week: I finally worked out yesterday! I was able to do much more than I expected (40 minutes on the treadmill, 8 minutes on the elliptical). I usually just shoot for 30 minutes, but I was feeling so good I couldn't stop. -

Thanks Debby-do! Checking in with challenges motivates me. For some reason, just that small accountability helps. I agree w/ Ann in the one NSV tho--one a week is enough to pat ourselves on the back. I think I disagree about shortening the time tho. It seems like most of our challenges have been too short to me. Two months (a little less because Feb is short) is enough time to actually SEE a difference. Either way, count me in! -

I'm posting early again because we're leaving for Vegas tomorrow and I won't have access to scales on Monday. 1/4/06 Weight = 236 NSV: I bought a size 18/20 belt to hold up my too loose size 22 pants. 1/9/06 Weight = 234 (-2) NSV: I was able to fit into a misses size 20 pants at Old Navy. 1/16/06 Weight = 229 (-5) NSV(s): 1) My mother-in-law came to visit this past weekend and called me a "skinny minnie!" 2) I can now fit comfortably (with room to spare) in those plastic, stackable patio chairs. 1/23/06 Weight = 228 (-1) NSV: I FINALLY had to break down and buy new size 20 clothing because I was tired of my old clothes falling off of me. 1/30/06 Weight = 226 (-2) NSV: I had to move the seat in my vehicle closer to the steering wheel because my butt isn't so big anymore. 2/6/06 Weight = 221 (-5) NSV(s): 1) Our female bowling league partner told me this past Tuesday that I had a nice butt. P.S. She wasn't hitting on me. LOL 2) I fit into and purchased a pair of size 18 shorts. SV: 4 more pounds and I'm halfway to my goal!! :biggrin1: 2/13/06 Weight = 220 (-1) NSV: I don't really have one this week. Hopefully I'll make up for it with 2 next week. -

I assume checkins will be Mondays as in previous challenges? I'll check in tonight since I weighed in this morning and don't know if I'll have a chance to be on tomorrow. Start: 240 Now: 236 NSV for the week: I got off my butt and exercised 2x last week. As I had stopped exercising over the holidays, it's great for me to get moving again. My other NSV unrelated to banding: I made great progress on my decluttering goals AND on one of my goals at work. :banana -
