  1. Ok, so I had my first 2 nsv's on the same day! First....I had a doctors apt today and I thought I would try on that pair of pants that I bought a few months ago that I hoped to fit one day. When I grabbed them I thought to myself that there was no way that I would be able to zip them up because the last time I tried I couldnt even get them over my fat thighs. So I pulled them up...all the way. I went to pull them together thinking that no way could I zip them up....and yep you guessed it! Not only could I zip them up, but they easily fit on...and looked good!! woo-hoo! The next was when I went on a hike today with my walking partner. This trail is tuff!!!! It goes straight up hills and is a real workout. The last time I walked it I was huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf. Well, not only did I walk up those nasty hills with ease, but when we got to the straight paths.....I felt like running! Yep I did....me! I ran on the straight aways! It felt great! I havent ran for fun since I was a child, and here I was running, because I wanted to and I had a great big smile on my face. For the first time in forever I felt like a healthy active person. I cant wait to do it again! NSV's for me! I am so loving my sleeve

  5. ONNNNNNNNEEDDEERRRRRRRRRLLAAANNNNNNNNDD!!!!! I am thrilled to have reached onederland! I have not been here for at least a decade! The first 40 pounds to come off after VSG have been off and back on several times over the years. But I am finally past that point and I could not believe it! Last week I posted a NSV about a towel and finally felt like I too was experiencing some of the successes I was reading that others experienced. It really helped me start to believe that I too could succeed with this. Now at onederland, I am beyond excited and really feel I CAN reach goal. I am getting lots of comments from people on the way I look, no only about my weight, but about looking happy and healthy, etc. I think my increased confidence is showing. I feel so liberated from from the constant negative background chatter that told me that no matter what I accomplish I am such a failure. It is THE BIGGEST WEIGHT this VSG has lifted. I have a ways to go but I really believe I will ge there. Thank you all for your posts, stories and encouraging messages. They have really helped me stay focused, helped commiserate in the downs, and have uplifted my spirits when I needed it. Best wishes to everyone on this journey! May the pounds continue to fall off!!! -- and stay off for those of you in maintenance! Below, evidence

Halloween (Oct. 31) - What will you Weigh?

The day I joined this challenge I was at three weeks post-op and worried I might be facing a stall... I was right. I spent two weeks at the same weight. Finally, the scale has started to move again and I'm down 3 lbs. I still feel like I can reach my Halloween goal of 165. The best NSV yet was buying a size 12 pair of jeans yesterday. I wanted to announce it from the roof tops but I settled for just calling my honey ( who has no clue about woman's sizes) and then calling my daughter who could comprehend the gravity of this event. LOL

    2 new NSV's

Okay, so this weekend I decided to try on a formal pencil dress. they didn't have my size, so I tried on one size smaller. Guess what! It fit!!!!!!! I didn't even need to unzip it! I just slipped it right on. I was just window shopping, so I didn't buy it, but I might go back and get it because I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks. The second one was that I was sitting at a restaurant eating, and thought to myself, " gee, I think my stomach is shrinking!" LMAO!!!!

Halloween (Oct. 31) - What will you Weigh?

Screen Name........starting weight..........current weight..........goal........lb to goal Lanette...............177.8.......................175............................165.............10 Love those nice round numbers. huge NSV for me last night.....I fit into the "goal jeans" I bought more than a year ago! Size 8's!! Now I know all about vanity sizing and yes, I know it probably isn't an 8 from years ago.....but I can now fit into 3 things with an 8 on the tag so I'm counting it! Lol! Either way, these jeans always looked SO tiny to me and they fit my sister who has always been "tiny" to me. So vanity sizing or not, they are exactly where I have always wanted to be. :)
  12. I know it's not as exciting as NSV's or insurance approval, but I've been working towards this for over 2 years. I did my 2nd of my 3 required psych appointments this morning, and I got my call from the hospital for my initial consultation today...farther than I have EVER been in this process! I wanted to scream and shout and tell everyone about it!!!....but then I remember I've chosen not to proactively tell everyone...yet. I have my 3rd/last psych appointment Monday (which is just to go over my results), and I head out of town to the hospital right after noon! What do I expect now as far as a timeline goes?! (That's assuming insurance doesnt deny me.) Can I guess in the meantime that I may have my surgery before the new year???

    Embarassing NSV

Ok, so I just had to share my NSV, 'cause it is funny!!! I was at the gym last week hanging by my arms doing my lower ab work out. I was wearing a pair of work out pants that are obviously getting too big, because just as I was getting ready to tuck my knees up to my chest....my pants started to fall down! My workout buddy quickly saw what was happening and helped me out by pulling them up and tightening up the drawstring!! Thanks workout buddy, you're the best!
  14. I think this is one of my fav NSVs...not because it made you cry by the way!! It's because this is what we all need.... support and love from those who mean the most to us. I agree, you must hold on to this feeling; for me it is like a lottery win! Congrats to you and your fella xx
  15. That is wonderful. It makes this process that much easier when our significant others are so supportive of us. Congratulations, this has got to be one of my favorite NSV's.
  16. KellyL

    NSV! So happy I cried!

Awww, I was about to say, you are SOOOO lucky, but you know what?? He is the lucky one, and it sounds like he knows it too, and is expressing it which is awesome, cuz not a lot of guys will express it even if they feel/think it. If some of them only realized how much this means to us, they would do it more often! I loved hearing your story, I felt all the emotions with you. Congrats to you, and thanks for sharing this NSV.

    NOT losing weight!

Your body is still adjusting to WTH did you do to me. Don't weigh everyday you will go nuts pick one day a week and weigh if you must. Did you take measurements before? what are they now?? There are NSV you are having that should inspire you. Clothes looser, jewerly loose, smaller clothes. Keep you journal and keep on track the scales will show you hard work soon enough. don't give up. remember this is only a tool and you have to keep working on it. try upping your walking to longer or faster pace. Add DVD excercise tapes or join a step class at the Y. You will be fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Nothing tastes this good

The bin idea is a great one. If you don't mind, i am going get me a tote and but it in the closet and fill er up too. what a fantastic NSV!!!!! Great job on your preop. I will start my Wednesday and surgery on Oct. 19th. When is your date. Blessing wishes and good luck!!!!
  20. I have such a great boyfriend! So for the first time since I have been sleeved my boyfriend said something about my weight all on his own (without me dragging it out of him..lol). We were at his family reunion this weekend... He was sitting on a bar stool type chair and I walked up beside him and he put his arm around my waist. He look at me like he was surprised. I asked him "What?", he said "I can't believe I can put one arm all the way around your waist." It made me feel really good. It also made me feel better about not being able to eat all that great food and desert that his family made. However, that wasn't the part that made me cry. We went to a trail ride dance after the reunion. He asked me to dance.....I just posted I wanted to start dancing again..... While we were dancing he told me how proud he was of me, and that he always thought I was a beautiful woman but now I have a new glow about me that everyone has commented to him about. He said he felt like he was the luckiest man in the world. My whole life I have wanted to hear that. I just started balling like a baby. It sure made me feel good. BTW.... I have a really good looking boyfriend and for the first time since we have been going out this weekend was the first time another woman didn't come up to him and ask him to dance. However, his friends asked me all night.

How much fun...a great NSV. Little things make weight loss with VSG makes me smile...a lot. Great job Caliblond!
  22. I can cross my legs again! First time in over 5 years. I'm beyond thrilled!!
  23. I'm so excited!!!! I think I've finally had my first NSV since being banded 8/22. My mother who is 105 lbs soaking wet, gave me some of her rings a few years back. They were way too small!!! So I was saving them for my daughter who of course took after her grandmother. Well, I tried one on.....and it fit!!!!! This totally made my day!!!!

    NSV',

Great NSV!! Here's mine... I've noticed my bras getting a little loose at the top and the straps kept falling off my shoulders. Finally went to Soma to buy a new one since that's where I bought my last one... Had to try on several to get one that fit properly.... Went from a 42DD to a 40C!! Havent seen a 40C in the last 10 years, since before I started having kids!!! I've been a little down that the scale has been yo-yoing the last few weeks but now I can see that I may not have lost pounds but I can see where the inches came off!!!
