By request - BigViffer Workout Routine

Hey guys - I wanted to post an update to this thread. Another NSV for me. The deadlift is a damned hard exercise for several reasons. First off, you are lifting dead weight off the floor. Secondly form is so incredibly important in order to avoid injury. That is paramount to me since my entire weight issue started with an injury. Well I am happy to say that today I set a personal best deadlift record; 185lbs! Back feels good as do my knees. Sure my legs are tired, but there is no pain. I am roughly 25lbs from my deadlift goal of my body weight. I should totally be able to accomplish that by my year two anniversary. Hopefully my pull-up will fall into line soon too!
  5. Surgery is May 18. I start my pre-op diet on April 20 for a four week liquid diet. I've been on a low carb diet per my nutritionists orders since February and I've lost 29 pounds on that so far. I've been getting discouraged because I thought almost 30 pounds would FEEL like something but my clothes don't seem different and I don't feel different. But today I realized my office chair at work isn't digging into my hips because of the arms anymore. I have wiggle room! A small thing. But I feel better now. Any NSV's before surgery for you guys?

    November sleevers here

NSV I want to share - I went out for brunch with friends on Sunday morning and I ordered a healthy little side dish even though I realllllly wanted a big ass omelette. But I made a commitment to stop eating out as much and to only order something really small if I have to eat out. I'm really proud of the choices I've been making lately!

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Sitting in a normal airplane seat comfortably was a huge NSV for me-one of the most emotional ones for me. I had to fly a few months post op and got a window seat—and cried; it was so beautiful up there in the clouds, sitting in a normal seat. [emoji173]️ I took video of it and kept it to remind me!

    January 2013 Post Op

My NSV is that I'm smaller than my husband. Lol. My favorite jeans are huge on me especially in my thighs and legs. I walk without getting winded. I've had a had time with my emotions and I just had to take a step back and look at the positives and not want I perceive to be negative. I've lost 32 lbs. Yay me. I'm one month post op today. I do need to quit feeling sorry for myself and just take it one day at a time. This app and all of you has been just an amazing support family for me and I've incredible thankful for all of you. God Bless
  10. I suppose I'm just looking to share with others in my shoes. I'm 6 wks out today. I hit the dreaded 3 week stall I assume because the scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks. That's a long ass stall! I just got home from a business trip in Vegas. My plan allows for crab meat and baked fish at this point and I figured I could share with my husband. It was SO much harder than I anticipated. I had the expected difficulties with wanting to eat steak and all the other wonderful things that got me to bariatric surgery. I did not expect that I couldn't eat anything!! My stomach is not ready for fish or crab. I tried two bites, chewed well and hurt for hours. I was so discouraged. I had protein bars packed and ate those, but I really struggled to get any significant protein or calories in. I wanted to cry. I was so mad at myself for having this surgery! All this and the damn scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks! How do you not lose weight on 600 calories a day max? Then I went to the spa for a massage. And for the first time in years, I was able to wear the regular robe out the locker. The attending didn't have to discreetly get me a "different robe." Such a small thing, but it made such a big difference in my attitude. I wish my sleeve was healing faster. I wish I could tolerate a larger variety of foods. But, I know its going to get better. And it's going to be worth it.
  11. Audrey you look awesome, I am just seeing these pictures. Are you under 200 yet? You look great but do you think you need any surgery? If so what are you going to have done? My recent NSV is to realize my rolls aren't as deep as they use to be. LOL They are actually rolling away. Ah ha ah ha ha ha I'm silly.

    Kathy's Slow Loser NSV List

Kathy...you are GREAT!! :banana I am so lucky to have found you on here you are such an inspiration to me and to many!!! You keep up with thise NSV and I know you...you will make that scale start moving also. Although I think lately it's been moving there girl.
  13. I wasn't "quite" 400. I was 390... will that do? It all seems so long ago - I look at pictures of myself and 'know' it's me... bit I can't get my head around it.. (sounds daft...). NSV's? running for a bus without my boobs giving me Black eyes ! hehe RUNNING ! Showering without having to lean against the wall to reach my bum. being able to wipe myself in the loo (sorry) Getting my shoes on without getting into a sweat & breathless that I'd need a minute to recover. Crossing my legs !!! (I like that one!) Sex - being more adventurous... Husband - He married me when I was at my heaviest weight - he said he loved me no matter what my size... Though I think he prefers me this way... He can get his arms all the way round me now and thinks I'm more 'bendy'! lol Work - I've always had a desk job - so thats not changed much. I get more 'attention' from the fella's (not sexual or anything)... but more like being included in the 'in' jokes. I even managed to get myself promoted ! Family - some of my family we're a little 'resistant' with me getting the band - funny what happens when they saw me succeed... it's no longer the 'easy way out' - now after 2 years, my sister and brothers wife are going for it... they bloomin want it! Clothes - from size 30/32 - now in size 16's YEAY ! having a choice !!! Walking - being able to walk for more than 500 yards without taking a break. Babies - being knocked back for fertility treatment coz I was 'Too Heavy - too high a risk' - now i've been accepted no questions asked ! There are so many - it's a longer road for the heavier weights - but it definately works !!! Love this thread ! Aud x

    What is your height?

Hi Carlene, My weight gain came during the pregnancy of my first child. I gained 50+ with my first, 30 with my second and 20 with my third. In between the pregnancies I gained and lost. Unfortunately, I gained more than I lost. I think being under 130 is fantastic. I would be thrilled to be there. It is people like you who give those of us just starting the journey hope that we can succeed. As far as PS, if I am financially able to get a TT, breast lift down the road than I will. These are the 2 things I definitely think I will need to be comfortable with myself. I know I will never had that pre-pregnancy body. I can live with that. I will be happy just to feel better and fit into my clothes. My NSV is to be able to tuck my shirt into my pants without my stomach hanging out.

what is your ht/wt and clothing size?

When I was at my lowest weight, I used to LOVE laying down and feeling my hips and rib bones, lol. Right now, I'm only about 20 lbs heavier than my lowest weight, it's amazing how that 20lbs makes it harder to feel those bones! Looking forward to those NSVs again after my revision.

Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There

I was sleeved on 12/20/12, and as of today (eight days out) I'm down 16lbs! I've also had my first NSV! I love this place, and all the support, and I had a pretty easy way on this road to skinny! (:

    Who is this girl?

Oh my goodness that is the best NSV EVER!!!! Congrats!
  18. I would just like to share my newest NSV. I wore this dress to my best friends wedding last night. It may not seem like a big deal to some of you but I haven't worn a dress since I was 12. I wore it and I liked it!! I will be adding more to my wardrobe I blocked out the others for privacy. It was pretty exciting for me. At 267lbs I didn't look good in anything form fitting. It was a special night all around. It's the little things that mean so much! Update: Picture of the back of it for the ladies interested in it.

    Small Victories

*LOL* Watch it, Harleygirl!! Things really ARE bigger here in Texas! But I had to laugh because I had a similar experience with a ring that i never could wear because it was just a bit too tight. When my son had to take a link out of my watch band, I decided to try that ring and .. Whooppeee!! It finally fits! Isn't it funny where we seem to lose weight first? Congrats on your NSV!!!
  20. HELLLLOOOOOO!!! I'm glad to see you two are doing well! Karly1: Are you using band-aids over your incision sites? Sometimes the adhesive can get irritating on your skin. If you're not using band-aids, is your clothing rubbing on your incisions? That can really irritate them and keep them from healing. You may to cover them (no ointment though unless your doctor says to) just to keep a padding between them and your clothes. Hope that helps! Leslie: Girl you are rockin'!!! Look at you...24 pounds lost??? Fantastic! I'm glad you got to advance...I can now have Peanut Butter and eggs! WOO HOO! I still don't feel full for long. Everything just slips right through the band. Can't wait for regular food! I am doing well. I don't have a scheduled exercise session on the days I work. I work 12 hour shifts and run my ass off the whole time. The other days I've been doing okay. I walk, but have been released to start riding my bike. YAY!!! I'd rather ride any day! I took my measurements today. I know I'm a little late, but couldn't find my measuring tape, so had to buy a new one! I want to use that as NSV down the line. I wrote down everything! Neck, ankles, knees, forearms, wrists and ring size!! Overkill???? LOL ~C

    Marchies Bandiversary Month

Mrs Husker-- big W00T for breaking your plateau! That always feels good. OH Julie--WOW great avatar pic! You look hot! And you are so close to onderland, you will get there soon I'm sure. Everyone--we are doing great at 1 year. Big props to all! I finally got into the size 8 jeans the other day, that was a big NSV for me. :clap:Running really seems to help. I can only run for 6 minutes at a time so far, and last night I did a total of 17 minutes in 4 blocks over a 49 minute session on the treadmill. It's getting better, easier (a little). About sizes, I think it's funny that the sizes we hated when we were gaining weight, we LOVE when we lose weight again. I remember MANY years ago getting to a size 10 and being disgusted that I was in "double digits". Wow, that was probably 15 years ago? I never saw size 10 again until a couple of months ago, and it was like a long lost friend. Of course, sizes are a little bigger than they were 15 years ago...(shhhh!) OK, ladies, have a great weekend and happy bandiversary to the early Marchies!

    July 2011 Bandsters!

Hi Everyone! I'm still lingering in the 171 pound region, haven't broken through that plateau. Good news is that I have had major NSVs instead, and it helps me know I'm doing something right. I'm wearing my size 10 abercrombie and fitch jeans and my medium uniform pants. Everyone noticed my uniform pants! I was worried they were too tight but my girlfriend at work said they fit great. I really wish I could break 171. Been stuck here for a while. Guess it is time to step up my exercise game. Hoping for you all to be healing, losing & winning! Kate

    July 2011 Bandsters!

NSV today! I went to a wedding tonight. I had decided what to wear and had a back-up outfit picked out just in case. Then I tried to get dressed. The original outfit was too big. The backup outfit was too big. The next three things I tried on were too big. I finally found a black dress from about five years ago that was only slightly too big. I work from home, so I've been living in capri pants and t-shirts since the surgery; I knew they'd gotten baggy, but DANG!!!! Looks like I need to go shopping soon.
  25. Hotchocolate -- no you are not alone - EVERYONE has hit a stall -- I'm at stall #3 in 3 months - however, I've lost 43 lbs. so I'm not complaining - and I know the scale will start moving again (or I'll catch that little gremlin unawares and he wo't be able to keep his foot on the same number button) ... hang in there, you're doing great -- remember, it didn't come on overnight, it's not going to come off overnight either -- and take encouragement in the NSV (non-scale victories) like your pants and panties falling off -- however, please be at home when that happens okay?
