I did the BIG closet purge today . . . cleaned out ALL the 3x stuff (HURRAY!!) and organized everything else by size. I was previously wearing a size 24 jean and I got into my old size 20s . . . and they were LOOSE!! I also put on a dress I wore when I first met my husband (I think I was around 200-210 then) and it fit . . . snugly, but it fit. I'm SO excited!

I have an Addiction...
HappyFace replied to Ready2BDone's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know what I'd do without it! But I have a question: what's NSV? Don't laugh at me! -
OK, this is the LAST time I am going to try and update my blog! I have written this three times, and each time when I hit the "Post" button, it disappears! If it doesn't work this time, forget about it. I have been saving my loose change since Christmas, and took it to the bank last week in anticipation of flying home earlier this week. ($320.00!!!) As soon as hubbie picked me up at the airport, I told him I wanted to go to The Blond Genius. It is a retail store in West Des Moines, IA that specializes in fitting anybody in jeans and making them look good with a great fit. They are pricey, but they always look good. Their slogan is "We Can Fit ANY Body!" So we headed to West Des Moines, and I went in ready to spend my cash. I told the sales clerk I had lost about 80 pounds recently, and didn't know what size to try on, but maybe to start with a size 16 or 14. She brought four or five pair into the fitting room and I started to try on jeans. She asked to see each pair, and finally she said "these are all to big on you, let's try something else." She brought back a bunch of jeans and I tried on size 12s! I thought "never, no way, no how". But guess what? They zipped up easily and looked GREAT! I was so thrilled, I had to sit down right there in the dressing room and cry for joy! (Am sure the sales clerk thought I was Crazy, Nuts!) I don't think I have ever worn a size 12. I went from children's sizes to a size 16 womens with no pause in between for smaller sizes! A 12, I can't believe it! How great is that! I am thinking of making a sign that says "I wear a Size 12 now!" and hanging it on my back just so the world will know! When my husband came to pick me up at the airport, he drove right by me, he didn't recognize me at first! Had to back up the car when he realised it was me. I have to say, my sleeve is the best thing I have EVER done for ME! Anyway, all you VGSers who are in a stall or not loosing as fast as you want, hang in there, the (NSV) rewards are SO worth it!

Hello everyone, Like most people I did great my first month (lost 20 pounds), but this second month has been a struggle (gained and lost the same 2-3 pounds, twice!). Today I was hoping to be down at least 21, 22 pounds....and although I was down 1 pound, still 20 pounds total! I was getting a little frustrated. However today is October 1 and on the first of every month I said I would take some pictures to track my progress (3 profile pictures in 4 different outfits). I almost didn't take them today and was telling myself, "you haven't lost anything just take the pictures next month". But oh my goodness, I'm so glad I did this today! I really didn't think anything changed over the month because of the scale issues. But the pictures tell a different story!! I could really see a difference between last months pics and today!! So feeling good and proud of my progress, although a little slow and the scale didn't show it this month, there was progress! Thank you pictures! And holy crap, comparing today with August 1....wow, I can't believe the difference!! I did start working out again two weeks ago as well....so maybe that has effected things too! I hope everyone else has been taking pictures

So many NSV's lately, it's hard to remember them all. Fitting in the "goal jeans", running/walking 4.96 miles in under an hour, etc. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!

Sept 2011 bandsters
bromo replied to WannaBeSlimNow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can see a change in my face as well. Not quite as round as it was. I am down about 23 pounds since the beginning of my preop diet, Sept 1. That is a lot of weight to lose in one month!! I am having all kinds of NSVs. Back in jeans for the first time in forever. I had refused to buy any larger AGAIN after ridding myself of the 24s and above the last time I lost it. So I just had to wait to get back in my 22s that I outgrew this time last year. My shirts that were tight are beginning to get a bit too lose as well. I love this part of losing weight. Also, I am finding it easier to shower and can reach parts of myself that had needed assistance. I may just retire the back brush in a few more pounds. that may be TMI, but it is a real NSV in my book. -
What r nsv's???

Thank you so much for sharing your NSVs! There have been so many times that I've tried on jeans and haven't been able to pull them up over my thighs -- it would be fantastic to be able to try on those same jeans and zip them up. Very inspirational!

August Rush in bandland!

Big NSV-- just tried on my leather boots which were tough to zip up last year. Not only did they zip easily, but there was plenty of room in the calf. Now if it would only get cooler..... -
Okay it's time to celebrate some good things since surgery!! Today I went into a store called Anne Sez . The highest size they carry is a 15/16, but I figured I could fit into their tops. I tried on the jeans anyway and they fit perfectly-no muffin top, no squeezing, just prefect!! I didn't buy them, but I may go back! This is so exciting! I also tried on a size 14 coat because they didn't have a 16-and it fit too! It was a little tight around the shoulders, but not too much so-I was really tempted to get it because it was so cute and I figured it would still fit when I lose more weight-BUT it was over $200. I still might get it! lol People are starting to notice my weight lost-I love that! My husband now says how nice I look when we go out I carried in a 20 pound bag of dog food and it was SO heavy! Just to think this time last year I was carrying 2 of those around each and every day-no wonder I was tired all the time! I have so much more energy too! I have a skort that I didn't fit into last year and now it slides right past my hips! I haven't weighed myself in a long time so I am thinking maybe I should-I don't feel like I lost any more weight but who knows? Oh-today I drove through McDonalds and order a chicken snack wrap-grilled. I didn't eat the wrap part and the chicken inside was perfect for lunch!! Under $300 too! So today I decided to celebrate the small things! I even postponed a fill appointment because I don't think I need it. I NEVER thought I would say that!!

Oh my gosh!!! It made me so happy to read your NSV post! Congratulations!!!

Ok, so I had my first 2 nsv's on the same day! First....I had a doctors apt today and I thought I would try on that pair of pants that I bought a few months ago that I hoped to fit one day. When I grabbed them I thought to myself that there was no way that I would be able to zip them up because the last time I tried I couldnt even get them over my fat thighs. So I pulled them up...all the way. I went to pull them together thinking that no way could I zip them up....and yep you guessed it! Not only could I zip them up, but they easily fit on...and looked good!! woo-hoo! The next was when I went on a hike today with my walking partner. This trail is tuff!!!! It goes straight up hills and is a real workout. The last time I walked it I was huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf. Well, not only did I walk up those nasty hills with ease, but when we got to the straight paths.....I felt like running! Yep I did....me! I ran on the straight aways! It felt great! I havent ran for fun since I was a child, and here I was running, because I wanted to and I had a great big smile on my face. For the first time in forever I felt like a healthy active person. I cant wait to do it again! NSV's for me! I am so loving my sleeve

ONNNNNNNNEEDDEERRRRRRRRRLLAAANNNNNNNNDD!!!!! I am thrilled to have reached onederland! I have not been here for at least a decade! The first 40 pounds to come off after VSG have been off and back on several times over the years. But I am finally past that point and I could not believe it! Last week I posted a NSV about a towel and finally felt like I too was experiencing some of the successes I was reading that others experienced. It really helped me start to believe that I too could succeed with this. Now at onederland, I am beyond excited and really feel I CAN reach goal. I am getting lots of comments from people on the way I look, no only about my weight, but about looking happy and healthy, etc. I think my increased confidence is showing. I feel so liberated from from the constant negative background chatter that told me that no matter what I accomplish I am such a failure. It is THE BIGGEST WEIGHT this VSG has lifted. I have a ways to go but I really believe I will ge there. Thank you all for your posts, stories and encouraging messages. They have really helped me stay focused, helped commiserate in the downs, and have uplifted my spirits when I needed it. Best wishes to everyone on this journey! May the pounds continue to fall off!!! -- and stay off for those of you in maintenance! Below, evidence

Halloween (Oct. 31) - What will you Weigh?
nowatgoal replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The day I joined this challenge I was at three weeks post-op and worried I might be facing a stall... I was right. I spent two weeks at the same weight. Finally, the scale has started to move again and I'm down 3 lbs. I still feel like I can reach my Halloween goal of 165. The best NSV yet was buying a size 12 pair of jeans yesterday. I wanted to announce it from the roof tops but I settled for just calling my honey ( who has no clue about woman's sizes) and then calling my daughter who could comprehend the gravity of this event. LOL -
Congrats on the skirt fitting!!! Stupid question... What does NSV stand for??

Okay, so this weekend I decided to try on a formal pencil dress. they didn't have my size, so I tried on one size smaller. Guess what! It fit!!!!!!! I didn't even need to unzip it! I just slipped it right on. I was just window shopping, so I didn't buy it, but I might go back and get it because I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks. The second one was that I was sitting at a restaurant eating, and thought to myself, " gee, I think my stomach is shrinking!" LMAO!!!!
