Look At Those Pelvic Bones Sticking Up!
Forensikchic posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was lounging on my living room floor when my husband noticed how flat my stomach is and that my pelvic bones and rib cage now stick up! I am 2.4 pounds from my personal goal and have already met my surgeons Ideal weight goal. Just thought I would share my nsv from yesterday! Here is one taken the morning of my surgery for comparison too... 234 to 137, size 20 to size 4/6. Woohooo!!!! -
I had my first nsv yesterday. My jeans that I had been wearing were way to big so I dug out the jeans I knew were in my closet ( the I know I will fit into these again one day jeans) they had been there for 3 YEARS! I put them on..... TOO BIG, they were falling off! They are 3 sizes smaller then pre surgery size! It felt amazing!!!!!!!!

Woohoo! Congrats!! I had my first NSV at only 1 week post op. Well I am down 30 lbs from my highest weight. I was getting my daughter her tuna sub( subway) yes, the smells were really getting to my little teeny tummy But anywhoo, I gave them my debit card and drivers license, they girl at the register looked at it and called her co worker over, they looked at it and looked at me, the guy said" uh no" and the girl laughed and said " that's you? Are you sure? My hair was up and I had 3 chins and chipmunk cheeks. I only have one chin now and normal cheeks and my hair is down to my waist!! I thanked them for making my day!! What was your most recent NSV? (non-scale victory)

Here is my NSV. This upcoming weekend I'm helping my nieces move furniture into their 3rd floor apartment. Why is this an NSV? Never in a million years would I have been able to climb the darn stairs, much less cheerfully volunteer to carry furniture up three flights! I can't wait to be around these twenty-somethings and get some good exercise! *cue Urkel* "Did I say that!?!" -

Someone came up to me today looking very serious and said, "what are you doing?" I said, "what do you mean?" They repeated the question. Then they said, "you've lost so much weight! How did you do it?" My real NSV is that I've been at goal for so long now, I had no idea what he was talking about! I used to hear that several times a day, now people are used to the skinny new me. It felt pretty good! -

I won tickets to the football game on Sunday...several NSVs. I could walk from the parking lot and up the stairs without getting out of breath, I stood in the food line mainly for a bottle of Water & not all the food I could eat. Best of all though (well, besides the shock that the Rams actually beat the Broncos - sorry Denver fans), I could sit in the seat & actually bop around. Yes, I showed off to my hubby - especially since a year ago we were at the stadium for another event & I pretty much had to sit on the edge of my seat because my hips/thighs were wedged against the arm rests. -

That post from @@tink401 reminded me of something that recently happened. I have a tee shirt that I saved for more years than I care to recall. It was given to me by my then boyfriend and future husband. I was 16 at the time I first wore it, and pretty petite at that age. I came across the shirt cleaning out my dresser drawers in preparation for new bedroom furniture and thought I'd give it a shot. Don't you know that shirt slipped on like it did 40 years ago? How's that for a mind blowing NSV? -
I'm 5'1"... SW: 244; CW: 178; surgery 8/18/15 NSV: 1. I am an independent distributor for Young Living Essential Oils. I have a Facebook group to keep connected with my downline. There are several people in the group that have never met me or know me personally. I posted a video last night about one of the ways I use Lemon oil and immediately got 3 messages and a text about "how skinny/amazing you look!!" I didn't even think about how I looked when I did the video because I do them at least monthly... Sometimes more. It felt awesome! 2. I am now wearing a 15/16 jean and Large shirts comfortably but mediums don't look that bad. I wear scrubs and our logo tshirt to work and I've had to size down from 2XL to L. I was even having to stretch the bottom of the shirt to fit over my giant ass. 3. I've been taking a lot more hot baths lately because the Water actually covers me and I don't touch the sides anymore! 4. I know it's terrible for circulation but I cross my legs all the time...comfortably! SVs: 1. Last week I hit my "wedding weight" from 11 years ago which was the smallest I had ever been as an adult. 2. This morning I realized that I'm only 8 lbs from my drivers license weight... Which was a lie from the beginning! I hope to hit my goal weight of 135-140 by 1 year which will line up with our annual family photo shoot. I'd love to do some boudoir for my husband after I get to goal... Not during the family ones of course

I used to have difficult veins to find for blood draws. Now my doc didn't even have to do the pressy pressy thing, he could see the vein right through the skin. Skinny arms FTW

LapBand acronyms (WLS/PB/NVS)

I am having NSV this week. I am sure my scale is broken (ha ha, for sure). The compulsive me wants to run out and buy a new one. Was visiting a friend this weekend out of town and almost ran into his bathroom and used his, but refrained as I realized it was too compulsive. Should just throw the darn thing out. -
Yesterday I have the most annoying NSV. I went to the gym and was wearing my wedding band which was loose on my middle finger because it no longer stays on my ring finger. I realized a few hours later my ring was missing! I think it came off at the gym because I cannot find it anywhere else! I'll call them tomorrow morning. If I find it-I'll get it resized. If I don't I'll have to replace it!

Those NSVs are really important, too. And they can really lift your spirits during the weight loss journey. Congratulations, ladies, on your weight loss.

We ate at cheddars and the waiter had helped us before and remembered that my daughter likes Ranch for her fries. He also remembered that I can't have the broccoli casserole, it comes with the meal and he offered a sub, he also got a very nice tip. I went to Petsmart and returned the sweater that I had bought for the puppy, we have pretty much given up on finding him. When we return from Disney we are going to look for either a Pug or Boston Terrier or a mix of the two. I would also consider a shnauzer (sp?) I am looking for something less than 25 pounds that is good with kids and known to be a good family dog. I love the face of the pug and the ears on the bostons. I would love a little tea cup anything but I know that would be a bad choice with Abigale. We also looked into Italian Greyhounds, but they are soooo fragile and hard to potty train. Anyone have any other suggestions? We really want to get something soon, like before the weather gets too bad to really work on potty training. I would also like something to be "at home" here by the holidays. On a sadder note, I think my older cat is taking a turn for the worse. He has lost weight, that was a good thing, he was very heavy when we adopted him, but now he is getting too thin and he is looking really bad. I don't think he is going to make it through another Christmas, he is almost 9 and was overweight his entire life, he has spine problems but seems to be mobile with no pain right now, he has a history of bowel problems, but those are all resolved with better food and lots of Water. He is just not himself lately. I was putting laundry away this morning and he never even looked up at me, he is normally Mr attention. I guess age and the medical problems are taking their toll on his poor body. He is my baby and I will miss him terribly when he is gone. The vet says there isn't much we can do for him except keep him comfortable and give him lots of love, we might have another 4 months with him. It's hard to watch him slowly going but I know that the last 3 1/2 years have been good for him and I plan on making each and everyday just as good. Sorry to bring evryone down but I needed to vent. I am sure that I will feel better tomorrow, but today was rough on all of us here. On a brighter note I am all packed. I unpacked some of my capri's and repacked some shorts in their place. I was affraid that the capris would be hard to get over a cast. Oh and a huge NSV, I bought 12's for this trip and they fit. I also managed to wear and 11 1/2 in juniors today, they were stretch jeans but they fit and looked good. I will check in tomorrow after I see the band doc, I am going for a slight unfill, my allergies are acting up and I am a bit too tight, I can actually feel my band when I lay down or if I drink anything super cold. It's weird. I'll let you all know how it goes. ~Mandy

October Bandsters!!!
HeavyDutyQ-tee replied to "AmyRose"'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So yesterday I went ahead an joined Lifetime Fitness! Best decision I've made this week! I will be starting a T.E.A.M. Training bootcamp class next week for a couple months @ 3x's a week with a personal trainer with a small group of other members who have some of the same fitness goals as myself. I will also be attending Aqua-Zumba on Sunday mornings. So excited about Aqua-Zumba!!! I can't wait. The best part about Lifetime Fitness is that it's 24/7 & it's literally less than 7mins from my house. U can't be that!!! They have rock climbing, aquatics, aerobics, hip-hop, volleyball, sauna, full beauty spa, yoga, & open swim with water slides and many activities for kids. Also a healthy restaurant inside the gym. And the best part of it all is it was not too expensive & I got a couple discounts because they have open house going on right now. Yay!!! I'm also excited about the fact that they are 24/7, so by me working nights I can go to the gym right afterwork instead of going home first and having to wait for other exercise options. ♥ So this morning I went to Aqua-Zumba... 60mins of Aqua-Zumba, 20mins in the hot-tub, 20mins of walking laps in the pool & 5mins in the steam room = over 700calories burned & a relaxed body ready for a LONG NAP!!! I enjoyed my first day at Lifetime Fitness!!! ♥ Back tomorrow morning for another 8am aquatic class!!! I have done pretty good the past few weeks. I gained 2#'s after Thanksgiving but the turned around and lost 4.8#'s and the another 4.9#'s this past Friday. Before I joined Lifetime Fitness, I was simply playing games on the Wii, attending Jazzercise, and walking away the pounds with Leslie Sansone. I plan on switching things up in my exercise routine to keep my body guessing. Hopefully this helps. I have had a couple NSV, first fitting a jacket I couldn't even close about 3months ago... My work pants are literally falling off me without a belt... I can see my collarbones... I have some restriction. I am staying under 1400 calories a day and I am satisfied for 3-4hours after eating. So as long as I continue to drop weight, I'm not going in for a fill. I hope everyone else is doing pretty good. Hope everyone has a great Christmas & New Year!!! 2012 is our year!!! -
What is your most embarrassing NSV?

Isn't it far more embarrassing to wipe without ease? You and @@sbrainwater missed a priceless NSV topic. I think the originator, @@dhrguru, was more embarrassed discussing it than experiencing it. (I'm putting her name in blue so that she's notified that she's being held up as a shining beacon.) I won't reveal anything so that, if you check it out, you'll get the full impact. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/353620-the-view-from-down-there-a-ladies-room-post/ When I think of one that I can categorize as embarrassing, I'll be back. What is your most embarrassing NSV?

Awesome !!!!!!!! I can say that without question my "most embarrassing NSV" was a pants-on-the-ground moment, too. Ironically, it was when I was bringing in groceries.....had a few bags in each hands.....had climbed the front outsided stairs and made it to the top and then they dropped......all the way down....belt and all. My neighbors and anyone driving by had a crazy sight to greet them. Couldn't be helped. Gotta love the need for smaller clothes. -

I have a confession, not exactly a NSV, but hear me out. The last, time I was at the Bariatric Clinic I looked around. And yes, most of , if not all, looked over weight. But some v were more misshapen than me. Now I have put myself down, called myself Elephant, clumsy, fat even stupid. Really I am none,of these. And although I am a BIG girl, I do still have a shape. I still can walk, although slowly with a visible limp, there were ladies and a couple guys who were wheelchair bound because their legs no longer will hold them up. And I felt, a little pride I was speaking mine before that happened to me, because in a year,or 2 gaining like I had been, it could have happened. Now I know and I believe with surgery, I stopped the the slide into furthur ill health. But I cried and prayed for each,of them it's not too late for them, that someday they will have NSVs I know I will and it won't be long before I will report some really NSV because, you know now I do believe in me and what I can accomplish. -

I saw a picture of myself from behind and honestly did not even realize it was me until I noticed that it was my hair. Also I have a certain, um, sexy-time NSV that I won't share here in public but believe me when I say that there are new and fun things happening in our bedroom. -
