LOL! Definitely an NSV. I had a similar experience with my pants coming down in spin class! It freaks me out how this happens but you are so right! When we assume a stall or small loss means it's not working we are so wrong!!! I think it's the opposite: this is working so well, we are changing so quickly, we cannot absorb the changes and we are shocked when our clothes fall off of us LOL!!! Congratulations!!!! Happy shriking! :-) -

These are always my *favorite* NSV stories... CONGRATS!! Now get ya some smaller clothes. :biggrinjester: -
As of today, I am 19 days post-op. So far, I have ahd two NSV's. 1.) This may be TMI but... sex feels so much better because my husband can get closer to me. I can breathe with his weight on me rather than having to gasp for air. 2.) Cleaning out my closet. I took out everything that was too big for me and ended up with 10 (TEN) stuffed Walmart bags. I took them to the resale place to try and recuperate some of that money for new ones! I went from a tight 24W to a slightly snug 20W. I have lost 28 lbs total, only 10 since surgery but that is an average of 1/2 pound a day post-op.

I can't wait to get there. Your pictures are inspiring. I was in a tight 24W and now I am down to a slightly snug 20W. I cleaned out my closed of everything that was too big for me yesterday.... I took 10 STUFFED Walmart bags full of clothes to the local resale shop (I am required to wear business casual at work so I have to recouperate some of that money). I was amazed that clothes I was able to wear 2 weeks ago were falling off of me!! WoooHooo! BTW, I understand the concept of an NSV but what do the initials stand for?

I had just finished shopping at Walmart and was heading out the door. As I approached the older greeter, I noticed he was talking to some guy. I could hear what they were saying. The guy talking to the greeter started staring at me, and as I walked by, his head followed me. He was saying, "I should work here, so I can check out all of the good-looking women." It was very cheesy, and I was not interested in any way shape or form, but I thought it was hilarious, and I loved the attention. I am now turning heads of strangers! It has been a while since that happened.

Last night I went to the mall with my family. I wore a size 16 jean. Yes, they are now baggy. As I was walking my underwear started to slide down. At first I was mortified. They would have hit the floor if not for the jeans! It was so embarrassing! My family flanked me so I could (as discreetly as possible) hook a finger around the hip and hold them until I found a restroom. If I ever was in doubt that the sleeve is not working just because I've stalled this week, I'm not anymore. Guess it's time to go down a size :smile1: -
I was at the Fruit Market, when I said Hello to a Neighbor. She told me I looked Great, and even her Grand Kids were checking me out.. I said thanks, but it is a lot of work.. She said she bets it is.. Then she said are you smaller then you were, last time that you lost weight ? I said NO ! I have 2 sizes to go down to reach where I was before things got goofed up. So I am looking forward to this summer. She said my God you are going to look Great. So I said say hy ! to your husband and was on my way. I felt as light as a Butterfly. A couple streets down is the Auto Parts Store, so he needed to stop there. We took care of Business and he got a head start, so I looked like I was walking alone ,when I was WHISTLED ! at.... He said HAY BABY, WANNA GO OUT ON A DATE SOMETIME ? I was floored, when all of a sudden I heard "W H A T T T T T !" The young Guy says "I'm Sorry sir, I didn't know she was Married. ! ! ! ! In the car He said your starting to look to Dam Good ! I said Nope ! not in a size 20 I'm not... I still got a long way to go.. I'm still flying High on this, and Hope to enjoy it all day. Its been a long time since I was asked out on a date. I should write it on the Calendar.

October Sleevies - Check in!
courtines replied to lisajxoxo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will be 4 weeks out on Monday and am doing pretty well. I am having a stall this week, which is making me completely bonkers, but I am just trying to avoid the scale until my appointed time. I am struggling with getting my liquids in, but I keep trying. Water has never been my thing, so I have a purse full of crystal lite packets so I have no excuses. It is just hard. I was a hardcore soda drinker until about a month before my surgery and sometimes the crystal lite doesn't cut it. Trying to give myself lots of options though. I still need to work on my exercise and energy level, but I have been bad about taking my Vitamins and am making that a new goal, along with my Protein and water. I had a pretty awesome NSV the other night, when a coworker told me that my scrub shirt (that I wore all the time pre-op) looked like a dress on me. So glad to see that everyone is doing well. You guys are awesome! -

Monday will be 4 weeks post-op for me and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm down 18lbs from surgery, 28lbs over all. I've been able to get at least 60g of Protein everyday but 64oz of liquid is another story. I'm averaging about 50oz of liquids a day which isn't too bad but I know I need to really be at 64oz. My energy levels start out great but by the end of the day I'm wiped out. I'm hoping going back to the gym will help with that. As for Vitamins, I hate them. lol. I've been crushing them in various things (yogurt, cottage cheese, pudding) just to get them down. I did have my first NSV today. I put on a pair of pants I haven't worn for 6 months today and they are loose!! -
Kristen, throw that Halloween candy in the garbage! That's what you would tell me so do it for yourself. We're supposed to get Papaya Enzyme. I got mine at Walmart and the brand name is Spring Valley and they are chewables. It's not very expensive for 180 tablets and the holistic Dr I spoke to yesterday said we can take 6 if needed. Caryn, I know that protein drinks do that to me too. Now I need to cut out the black beans in my hubby's wonderful turkey chili and no more sweet potato fries for me. I just started the probiotic and maybe between that, watching what I am eating more carefully and the Papaya Enzymes i can reduce the gas. Sorry about TMI. Last night we ordered Outback takeout with friends. I was amazed that I actually stopped and felt full after les than half of my petie filet and less 1/4 of a baked potato. I ate all my salad with their Tangy Tomato dressing and felt full so I stopped without eating even half of my dinner. A real NSV for me. I thought their dressing was low fat so I used it. NOT! That house salad was 216 calories. I should have checked it before I ate it. If I know I am going somewhere out to eat I always check to see if their menu is online. If I had, I would have taken off the croutons and used my own dressing. I really did enjoy it but looking back I should have been more careful. Since I had not eaten much yeserday I was 156 calories over my 1100 so it will probably be OK. Overeating on salad, dumb mistake. :mad3: We can do this! Blessings, GG

Yayyy! You go girl! You are doing awesome! Keep those NSV coming -
I posted this earlier attched to the original thread, but since its one of my first "goals" I set for myself it definately needs to be here under NSV's... It feels like a lifetime ago that I made the below post too. I cried this morning because today, I tried the vest on and it fit! I couldn't wait to show her! I feel amazing. Posted May 8, 2011 - 7:45 PM Let me start by saying that a friend of mine has this vest she wears that I LOVE! I keep telling her she needs to give it to me. Doesnt matter tht she is a size 6/8 an I am a size 18/20 on top, I still want it lol. Of course she always tells me no you cant have it! Well today we had a shopping date, and it was the first time seeing her since my surgery on the 27th. She hands me a bag and tells me to look... inside is a brand new vest size 10. She said she knows that eventually I will fit into it but left the receipt and tags just in case I want to get a smaller size. I love her! She was not a huge supporter of the surgery in the begining because she was afraid for me. Now, I don't think there is a bigger show of support that she could have shown me. Just thought I would share. Raine

Scale and NSV today!! I weighed in at 180 this morning! I am on my way to my 70's!! 34 pounds lost total!! I had three different women today compliment me, they all know about the band. One said I was looking great, the other two told me I was wasting away, in a good, not demeaning way. Maybe I just need that extra boost but I like when people comment about how much better I look now. I am under no illusion that I was that great looking at 214. Maybe I still have some self confidence issues to work on, but it is nice to feel support any way I can get it.

Who's has experienced a New NSV Lately ?
kll724 replied to 54Shirley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats to all the NSV's. The main thing I noticed lately, is not such a NSV as a oh goodness. But I had to be unfilled recently, and gained a few lbs. But, what I noticed is when you are fat, the few lbs don't show quickly on your clothes. When you are in a small top and size 8's, a few lbs make a BIG difference! I noticed it, and so did my daughter. Haha! I now know that I will have to watch my eating in order to stay in the small sizes. It makes a big difference, quickly!!! Karen -

I had a out patient procedure last week.... and had to put on a hospital gown. The nurse handed it to me... I realized I didnt have the mental anguish of wondering if it was going to fit. Which it did of course.... and even tied in the back. I just stood there grinning. I let my husband in on my thoughts and he just laughed.... Then as we were leaving a few hours later as per hospital protocol I had to be escorted out in a wheelchair.... and it wasnt the big girl wheel chair... it was just a regular one. Both of those NSV just helped me sail through my minor procedure....
