Everyone posting their restaurant meals and all I can think is “I could make SO many meals for that price!” Anyway, this was dinner- homemade skin on mashed potatoes and a burger with mustard and Mayo and waaayyy too sweet pickles. No calorie tracking today but ate it all. That was before I prepped 7 meals for my kids for the next 3 days. I find it easier to meal prep for them so they aren’t constantly snacking or wondering what to eat over school breaks. yogurt parfaits with berries and homemade cranberry pecan granola egg and veggie sausage mini bagels with berries Korean beef bowls (veggie chicken nuggets for the vegetarian) with brown rice pasta salad with pepperoni and salami (hard boiled egg for the vegetarian) and berries cheese tortellini in homemade tomato sauce pasta salad with roasted chicken thighs (hard boiled eggs for the vegetarian) and leftover burgers with mashed potatoes and peaches.

No after pic - all eaten. I fancied a plate of things to pick at. Salad with tahini and lemon juice, low carb tortilla, vegetarian cheese, 2 veggie sausage links. I was stuffed after this - it was too much really but it all tasted so good!
3. ((BIG HUG)) My best friend has the type of breast cancer that is very estrogen sensitive, so even though she's quite thin, she is almost entirely vegetarian since most meat products and dairy have at least some estrogen. When we go out to lunch I research new places for vegetarian food. She will occasionally eat fish, but she doesn't really care for it. Her cancer is in remission and she's working hard to keep it that way.
4. Giving up meat again for a bit, same old problems, it sits too long in me (TMI sorry) Vegan/vegetarian meals coming as soon as I am well again! F- NYC!
5. I just weighed! Oh My Goodness! I have lost 23.6 lbs since starting the challenge and this week I lost 11.8 lbs. True loss is only 4.2, since I had gained that 7.6 lbs last week from TOM and Water weight. I told my boyfriend that I am living on Love! Seriously, I think it's the new vegetarian lifestyle I've adopted. Tofu!!! I now can see how I get so depressed. My weight fluctuates so much! I hope it stays down! I am 10 lbs from 100! AND I have 3 days til my 6 month Bandiversary! AND tomorrow is my Birthday! I'll be 45! Only 5 years til I'm 50! I just lost my high! I'm sad now! 5 years!!! Someone tell me to stop! Okay, I'm outta here!

How was your 5:2 day today?

Morning ladies, Ah the parents! I still have them both, and for that I am thankful, but I do see the little and not so little signs of "the end". I (and they) take it one day at a time. Sarah, dont feel guilty, you are doing a lot, and this will give you strength to do more once your surgery is behind you. Keeping moral up is important! And yes, get those skinny pants! Honestly, I don't care that much if I look like "mutton dressed as lamb" as my hubby calls it... but so far no one has called me that... and I dress pretty "young" if I like the style. Wanda, I take a Mega Strength Beta Sitosterol by Source Natural before any meal (when I remember!) that has higher cholesterol in it...I dont eat meat, but dairy is usually the culprit... I don't eat many eggs now. I used to take fish oil caps daily, but being a vegetarian, never wanted to do it really... that did bring my numbers down a little, but the months before this last test I stopped the fish oil, started adding some chia seeds , walnuts and flax and oatmeal now and again, and taking the plant sterols every couple of days before the cholesterol rich meals, and my lab numbers went down even more. http://www.webmd.com/cholesterol-management/features/low-cholesterol-diet-plant-sterols-stanols these are the ones I use and not too expensive: http://www.puritan.com/source-naturals-brand-0111/beta-sitosterol-mega-strength-024059?scid=3763&cmp=gpl-_-024059&CAWELAID=520010730000014614&gclid=CPqQusbPg78CFdJcfgodfUMArg

How was your 5:2 day today?

Being a vegetarian... I would have to say yes. some days not.... not sure what does it! I need to go through the underware again for sure! I remember seeing a study that showed a chart where gurd and weight gain went hand in hand after three years...not for everyone.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous!

Weighnomore, Im kind of in the same boat...plateau for the last 4 weeks, I do eat 60-70 gms of protein and about 40-80 gms of carbs (I am a vegetarian, and most Proteins have some carbs). I am going to try and eat 1000 cals for a few days and see if that shakes things up... good luck with your efforts, stalls SUCK!

Any vegetarians out there?

Hi, I'm vegetarian also (although I have started to eat fish now and again) but as far as the band is concerned you can get plenty of protein in with nuts, seeds, pulses and grains. For a while I found eating basmati rice difficult so I switched to cous cous, after a couple of months I tried rice again and I can eat it fine now. When you are making your Soups (broth) I suggest you put a handful of lentils in with your veggies. Protein drinks are terrific when you are on the liquid stage. A bowl of porridge (oats) with some animal milk on is as protein rich as a piece of quality meat. For the mushie stage I found houmus (blend a tin of chick peas, 2tbl sp sesame seed paste, clove of garlic and juice of 1/2 a lemon add olive oil as you blend) a terrfic protein rich easy to eat food. Good luck on your journey.:glare:
10. Let me tell you all: I was born to be a vegetarian. I had to do a cleanse just to set my system right... I will still be cleansing for a few more days, thanks Smooth Move tea! Lol That's why I was a no show... it was a shorter fast for me because , well it's the weekend and I don't usually fast on Saturdays. Today I had oatmeal (rare) and yogurt together, the salad below and a mini kind bar (something else but I can't remember) & banana protein shake in iced coffee (really good) thanks @FluffyChix MPF says I had 1000 cals, 92g protein, 70ish of carbs, I ignore fats, I eat enough nuts to know it high... So here's my salad. Black bean and avocado salad. Water tea coffee on repeat...

Food Before and After Photos

The first is imitation crab meat salad made with light Mayo, gochujang, fish sauce, and soy sauce and tossed with orange peppers and kimchi. I ended up eating it over 2 meals and my kids pilfered my leftover nori from the first meal. The second is a weird tart I made from fat free vegetarian refried black beans, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and an extreme wellness spinach tortilla. Ended up eating 3 slices and the rest might go in the garbage because the bottom didn’t crisp and I’m not about to eat soggy tart. 😬

Faux tonkotsu ramen (vegetarian) Not mine (I did make it) but I wanted to share because it’s not often I accurately track a food I’m not eating. This seems like a lot of calories to me but I’m sure it’s less than normal because it’s homemade

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Hahahaha.....the word "flaccid" makes me laugh and laugh....that's why I try and use it often. Man, it sucks to try and download porn with a faulty sound/video card (and I know good and well that's what you've been doing.....all of us know that pregnant women love porn, right?) I thought you were a vegetarian?

How this salad came out to 500 calories is insane! I’m blaming the quorn meatless nuggets (vegetarian not vegan as they have egg whites in them). Even so, I’m at 1300 calories for the day even with “ice cream” for dessert.

*Vegetarian Stuffed Chicken Parmesan (Ricotta, parmesan & provolone cheese used) Only calling it stuffed because there is a layer of ricotta between the chicken patty and provolone/parm cheese. Also maybe because I could only eat 1/2 before feeling ridiculous 🤣 The vegetarian chicken patty used:

22. Hi, how long have u been a vegetarian? I know ur new but it gets better. after a while ur body will not be able to tolerate any meat products. I have lived w/ people who weren't vegs and found myself not as strict as normal... meaning eating fries from a pizza place or egg rolls from chinese place knowing that these places cook everything in their oil. I try hard to when eating out making sure my food never goes near meat products. feel free to ask me anything u need to know!!

thanks Kim

25. {{$title = \IPS\Output::i()->title;}} {$title} Millions of Americans are vegetarians, and millions more restrict their meat intake somewhat. You might choose a vegetarian diet because you think it is healthier, or for ethical reasons. Vegetarian diets are also more environmentally friendly than meat-heavy diets. There are a few general types of vegetarian diets. Pesco-vegetarians eat seafood but not meat or poultry. Ovo-lacto vegetarians eat eggs and dairy products, but no meat, poultry, or seafood. Vegans or strict vegetarians eat no animal products, including meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, and dairy products. Advantages Lower intake of cholesterol-raising saturated fat from meat and poultry. Possibly higher intake of fruits and vegetables, leading to higher intake of fiber and other nutrients. Disadvantages Can easily be less healthy than a diet with meat if you choose sugary and starchy foods to replace lean proteins and get saturated fat from butter, full-fat cheese, and trans fats. Veganism especially can lead to deficiency of vitamin B12, which is only naturally in animal-based foods. Can lead to protein deficiency after weight loss surgery if you are not careful. Has no focus on weight control behaviors such as controlling portions or calories. Vegetarianism and Weight Loss Surgery You can follow a vegetarian diet after weight loss surgery as long as you stick to the principles of the bariatric diet. You will need to focus on protein even more than you would if you were eating meat and poultry. Select protein first at each meal. That can include beans, lentils, soy products such as tofu, soybeans, and soy-based meat and dairy substitutes, peanut butter, and nuts. If you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian, you can also have egg whites and non-fat dairy products. Also, follow these guidelines. Measure portions carefully and stick to small serving sizes. Be careful about nutrient deficiencies, such as vitamin B12 (which is in animal products), calcium (which is in dairy products), and omega-3 fatty acids (which come from fish). Continue to make nutrient-dense choices, such as choosing whole grains like wheat bread instead of refined grains like white bread.
