@@simplyblessed I use GENEPRO. I get it on amazon.com. It has 30grams of Protein. I use it everyday in my decaf hot tea. I drink either 24-32oz of decaf tea every morning. That way I get in my liquids and my protein. I then drink one RTD premiere Protein shake for lunch and then a small protein filled meal for dinner. I am 7weeks post op and I feel great!! I have been losing steadily!! Good Luck with your journey!!!

I totally get what you are saying. There was a time (not to far back) that I expressed my love of GENEPRO!!! I had quite a few people jump all over me!! That I was being misled all over the place and that GENEPRO was lying about how much protein they had in it. Now I am ok with peole disagreeing, like was said NOT everyone has the same ideas as me. But...I have seen different ones on here. Not so much the ones that were here when I first started out. In a group like this we will all come accross someone that doesn't agree with us. There is a better way of saying it as how I was talked too. I was basically called a moron!! When I stated that it was sold here on BARIATRICPAL store. I was told it was just the money making that our leaders were into. There has to be a few in ever group. I try the old saying from one of my Favorite Disney shows. Thumper (I do love me some Thumper) His mom told him. If you can't say something nice, don't say NOTHING at all. Let's all agre to be better to each other. Everyone needs this site for support. I hope you all have a great THRUSDAY!!! KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!

Protein Shake problem
SunsUp replied to Jerseygirl21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I couldn't handle the thick shakes with a sinus issue as i started twk weeks liquid. Bought GenePro at GNC. 30 grams a tablespoon. No taste. No grit. No clumps. Looks murky when mixed but it works and is easy on the stomach. Maybe it'll help you too. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Morning Nausea
Naughty Glitter Goddess replied to LesbianDad30's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've always been a breakfast eater and that stopped cold turkey since surgery (aug). I'm not nauseous in the mornings anymore but breakfast just sounds terrible. And when I force myself to eat it, I don't feel well. I do drink a protein coffee with Fairlife milk, coffee, genepro and SF toriani in the mornings. Eat my first real meal after the gym, 9 or 10am. My nutritionist does not love that plan but says I can go with it for now if I make sure to eat a small snack after dinner. They're not kidding when they say EVERYTHING changes. Good luck on your recovery and congrats on you surgery. Feels great to take excellent care of yourself! -
@@Ldyvenus I'm glad you mentioned the Syntrax...I ordered the variety pack and I think the cappuccino flavor is still in the pantry! I'll try that one tomorrow. I've used almond milk in my coffee, but it's still not quite what I'm looking for. Right now, I'm making an espresso, steaming a cup of Fairlife milk and adding a scoop of GENEPRO to it, but I'd love to find something with fewer steps for first thing in the morning. One day I'm going to burn the heck out of myself steaming the milk

phase 2 if you cant tolerate protein shakes... any idea on what to do?
JennsinCA replied to Castle coburg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought Genepro unflavored protein powder from Amazon and I love it. So far I have mixed it in broth, refried beans, pudding, and my all time favorite lite and fit greek yogurt. 2 yogurts a day and I am able to get 84gm of protein in. It has been a life saver since I am so sick of shakes -
phase 2 if you cant tolerate protein shakes... any idea on what to do?
Ronab replied to Castle coburg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are still using Genepro, do you still like/use it? Concerned about wasting money since others say it is not possible to put that much protein in such a small quantity. -
My first day mushie/soft - i was petrified
trekker954 replied to trekker954's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I ninjaed the chicken chili and while that first taste was delicious, common sense told me it was too spicey for my delicate tummy and gave it to my husband. I had hummas mixed with GENEPRO instead which was fine too. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Fairlife milk is too high in carbs for me but I do have the Carb Master milk. I do have Genepro still as well but just opening the container makes me gag. I literally can't drink or eat anything in it. I tried having my husband make me things and not tell me what had it in it. Nope, as soon as I put it in my mouth I would start gagging if the protein powder was in it. I tried a couple other ones as well aside from Genepro. Same problem.

I think part of my issue is I can no longer tolerate Protein power or protein shakes at all. Makes me gag even at the smell, and yes I've tried many different brands including GENEPRO. I have a lot of sensory issues and this is suffering for it. I can't tolerate yogurt either due to my sensory problems. So I need to find a way to get in my calories and protein through food alone. Oh, did I mention I have a lot of food allergies too (including, but not limited to, legumes (for ex - peanuts, Beans, peas, etc), almonds, and all fish (yes all, not just seafood). *sigh* Yeah, it's difficult right now. So keep the menus coming, I need ideas. Have to get creative.

Thank you ChrisB, facing my third EDJ November 9th for same reasons, almost as long for me, I think 8 weeks today. This reducing mama on infant style diet, nutritionist says I haven't hurt myself yet, yeah but emotionally puffy. Nuked a sweet, potato last might, took out the pulp and stirred into sk8m milk, added scoop of Genepro, yeah not highest quality but you do what you can. Made it like a cream soup. Ate my iddy bitty 1/4 cup , sat in chair fight my pouch until she stopped trying to puke it up. Then in a couple hours I felt like I could lie down, maybe sleep. This is NOT the journey I booked for!

Hi - I am 6 days post op. I am in phase 2 of eating where i am ok to eat soups, jello, yogurt, etc.. but I'm supposed to be getting 64g of protein per day. My problem is that i can't tolerate any sugar substitutes. I am really struggling with things i can eat (drink) that are high in protein but don't have any fake sugar substitutes. I have tried the GenePro tasteless protein powder as well and couldn't keep that down either. Does anyone have any other suggestions of foods/drinks to try that do not have sugar substitutes but are high in protein? There is only so much plain yogurt, tea, broth etc... i can take in and am no where near the protein goal with those options. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Protein Shakes help
msspiceybaby replied to living55's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found GENEPRO to be very good. You can add it to hot or cold drinks, sprinkle it on your food/ I use to love it in a cup tea 30 grams in one serving. Premier choc once a day 30 grams gave me 60 grams of Protein by lunch -
I’m 16 days post op but finding it very difficult to get my protein AND liquids in. I’ve been living off cottage cheese and can do 1/4 cup at a time. I used to LOVE the protein shakes the first week and now I can’t stand them. They are too sweet. I bought genepro and that’s helping a lot. Can you give me examples of what you eat and drink?

I'm 10 months out and here's a typical day for me: Bfast: Premier protein shake 9am: Greek yogurt with couple of grapes Lunch: half an Atkins meal PM Snack: cup of coffee Dinner: 2-3 oz mahi and asparagus If I'm low on protein I'll supplement with a little genepro. I always get in at least 125 oz (about a gallon) of water each day. I'm still not hungry most of the time so I have to make myself hit the daily goals. I'm currently down 95.5 lb and am losing 5-7 lb/ month. I have 30 lb to goal weight. Stats: Height 5'11" female SW 295.5 11/14/16 CW 200.0 (almost there!!) GW 170 -
My head is so foggy I can't get my **** together. Help, please?
Mom26 replied to glitterpockets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How truly tragic -- I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. I can send you a serving or 2 of GENEPRO if you'd like. Then you'd at least be able to try it out and see if you like it. If you want, message me your address and I'll drop it in the mail to you on Monday. I'm in NY - so you'd probably have it by Wednesday. -

So sorry for you loss. Please consider getting some therapy to assist you through the grieving process because you will have a hard time after the surgery. Best to work out all your issues prior to the surgery. Also, on the Vitamins and Protein, I used the MD Vitamin Patches for multivitamins and get the Vitamin D, and Calcium chewables from Amazon.com. I did not have to take an Iron supplement. As for protein, I love the Bluebonnett whey protein with Almond Milk. I order it from Amazon.com as well. The best thing to do is to try different ones prior to your surgery so you can find one that works for your taste buds. Although, after the surgery your tastebuds will more than likely change. I also use the GENEPRO unflavored protein. To me, it has no flavor. I sprinkle in everything. -
OMG yes! I made a 2 egg omelette and added a scoop of GENEPRO. It lasted me all day but was one of the first foods I ate. Made me soooo happy.. Lol Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

5 days post op—the things they did not tell me
JanJan19 replied to Jessviera's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think I'm technically on pureed but for real, pureed to me is ground beef and ground chicken. I'm not pureeing anything. I weight and measure everything, eat in 4oz increments. Zero issues. Tonight I had 3 oz of ground chicken with hot sauce and 1oz of blue cheese. Earlier I had eggs with goat cheese and spinach. I also try and add protein to my coffee in the morning to kick up the protein as high as possible. I got that GENEPRO that I think I saw someone recommend. It's real trial and error. Some stuff it curdles in, disgusting. Found a YouTube video, if you put it in a shaker cup and add even 2oz of milk or creamer and shake it up, it becomes pretty smooth. Then pour the coffee on top & shake again. Adds 30G protein for 60 calories. -
Try Genepro protein powder. I buy it from gnc. You need a very small scoop for 30 grams of protein and can mix it with crystal light.
-
Thanks everyone, today thank goodness I am really not hungry and have hardly been eating, but I did get 60gms of Protein so far, 1 premier shake and unflavored GENEPRO with some yogurt, and then dinner should give me my 80-100gms The reason I cannot take a PPI is because prior to my surgery I had SIBO, which can come from using a PPI for an extended time. I really should not even take pepcid, but since it is not a PPI it seems to be OK and works just as well.

Have you tried an alternate protein source? Shakes made me nauseous, but Genepro is tasteless in Crystal Light and doesn’t bother me.
