Question. Yesterday I was constipated TMI, that's fixed but today I have been having the worst pain in my pouch feels like someone is trying to turn it inside out or something. Tried to eat one thing today and was ok but also nauseous and burping a lot. What's the deal? Tomorrow is my first day back at work and it's a 12hr shift and I'm the only pharmacist there. This is the worst I've felt since surgery...any thoughts??? Help?

I know it's Tuesday but I had to share! BROKE the week long stall - finally! I'm actually quite grateful that it was only a week! Yipppeeee! Hit 229 today - haven't seen that number in a long time. Added a 45 minute bike ride to the repertoir and, I think moving to mushies has helped. It's actually been quite the last couple of days; found out that a hard boiled egg eaten quickly does NOT count as a mushy - found that out the very painful, slimy way. Will my sleeve ever forgive me??? I'm so sorry oh Great Sleeve Master!!! Then, had my first real BM in almost a month! TMI, sorry. And - as most know by now, discovered how very important acid reducers are in regards to "hunger". What a ride it's been already!! Yay! C

Some emotional turmoil after cosmetic/plastics consult
Catracks replied to CowgirlJane's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
If I got all this extra skin removed, I would be at goal - although I can only get the panniculectomy through my insurance. I just cannot afford anything else. If I made my goal, I'm wondering if I would be too thin. I've already noticed that the last 20 pounds left me with much more skin - especially on the thighs. This is TMI, but when I sit on the pot I really notice it all hanging over. I'm in great shape and would wear a size 4 or smaller without that apron. I've also been stalled for a couple months. I'm just wondering if this is where I should be. -

changing4me posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OK so here it is the night before (well early morning of..) my pre op testing!! to be 100% honest, I am a Nervous wreck!! I have literally made myself sick in the last 48 hours. I could not figure out why all of sudden my stomach is nauseous and I had diarrhea..(sorry for the tmi)...but I just figured out..its my NERVES!! I am a nervous wreck and didn't even realize it. I just got off the phone with my best friend who had to remind me to breath bc I was beginning to have what I THINK is an anxiety attack! I know I have made the right decision to get banded, after a lot of time and research, but now as I lay in bed the night before Pre Op testing,I am having second thoughts !I know deep down its the best decision but right now Its not so clear!! I was always a "strong" person,so right now I am surprised at how much In freaking out on the inside! I know a lot of people start feeling like this a few days before surgery, but I still have 10 whole days! Im not scheduled until August 12th. is this too soon for me to be freaking out? has anyone else experienced these feelings this far away from surgery day?? my stomach is bubbling,I feel like I have a lump in my throat, my chest is heavy and overall I think I might just sh*t my pants before surgery day arrives!! LOL MY NERVES are SHOT!!! I only told a handful of people about my surgery plans,so I think the fact that there are ppl close to me whose shoulder Im used to leaning on when I need support, that dont even have a clue as to what Im in the process of doing is also playing a role in my Pre surgery Jitters.(they dont know bc I dont think they'd be as supportive as I'd need them to be) So pretty Much this site is my NUMBER 1 person (people) to turn to! SO I NEED ALL OF YOUR HELP!! PLEASE tell me about your pre op jitters stories. I would like to hear from any and everyone. any advice, tips, stories etc are greatly appreciated!! Also I would REALLY LOVE to befriend other August banders..ESPECIALLY those of you with the same surgery day of August 12th!! Also anyone else who is pre or post op that would like to be band buddies I would love that too! I need as much support as possible!! -
I'm alive!!! Yay! No cramping or anything crazy! I did "go" but just normal, there's not a whole lot in my belly anyway. So glad I could share all my TMI with everyone! Lol! So I think the tea is safe..I don't know if I will drink it again because I don't want to push my luck but I'm good: )

Who's Getting Banded in August???
pinkposey replied to Tracyde730's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I made it! Had my surgery August 5th @ 8:00 am. My doctor told me that the surgery went very well! I lost 13 lbs. in the one week liquid diet before my surgery! He did say my liver was fatty, but that's because I've been super-sized for several years. But even though my BMI isover 60, he said my surgery was no more difficult than any others he has done! I am sore, though. I have 5 incisions, but only one hurts, this must be the port incision. I've had some gassy, watery diarrhea (sorry if that's TMI), and am belching a bit. I've not been hungry at all. I spent the night in the hospital and had a few sips of broth and jello, but mostly just sipped water all day. I am going to try to eat/drink more today to build up my strength. I want to try to start getting my protein in again, so I don't start losing my hair. Congrats to the other August Bandsters! I'm ready to start getting my life back now! -
I have no problem at all with the water. In fact I am taking in 4-16.9oz bottles of water through out the day. It's the protein shakes I am having problems with. I think I finally found one I like "taste sooo yummy, almost like chocolate milk" so I am fixing to buy a case and really start pushing myself to get it in. 1 can has 35ozs so you add that to the meats I consume I will be getting in a pretty good amount of protein after this. You really have to push yourself with the amount of water you consume. I thought I was getting a uti or worse kidney stones because my urine turned brown "tmi sorry" I talked to the doctor and the meds he has me on can cause the brown urine. I was just fine, it still scared me into drinking more and more water. LoL

Hi all. Just feeling discouraged and need to vent to people that can relate. I'll be 6 weeks out on Thursday and am struggling. I was feeling really badly last week after being constipated for a week (sorry if tmi). The nurse have me some suggestions that got things moving but then I spent several days cramping and feeling naseau. She put me back on clears for a day, which did help a little, but I got off track with liquids and Proteins. I'm really having a hard time getting back on track. I'm trying to make myself drink the Protein shakes once a day but last night it made me literally sick. I'm only supposed to eat 3x per day and just can't get enough protein in with the amount of good I can eat. Nothing tastes good or satisfies and I don't even really want to eat. Water even upsets my stomach so getting at least one power ade zero per day, but lacking in fluids as well. I'm tired and don't feel good if I don't eat but feel even worse if I do. I hate to be a whiner, and I certainly never thought I would see the day that I didn't want to eat, but it's all catching up with me. I'm worried about the effects over the next few months of me not getting the protein I need now. Can anyone relate? Any tips?

April 16th role call - who's with me!
Melodica replied to Bluesea71's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm urinating more than I'm drinking too and it's always pretty dark. I keep wondering where it's coming from because I've only drank maybe 6oz in 24 hours. The first time urinating after surgery was one of the most difficult things I've done. I had to run water over my hand and concentrate to get anything to come out and when it did (TMI alert) it was thick, dark orange and very smelly. Thankfully it's gotten better and easier since then but dehydration is a worry. The nurse told me one of the first signs of dehydration is confusion, so I've had my husband on the lookout for that. -
This is the first time in my life that I am so happy to see aunt flow visit me I was worried that I mite see her on my surgery date omg thank god one less thing to worry about sorry for the TMI

Anyone else on week one? I had my surgery last Tuesday and so tired of broth and jello. I’m so ready to move to the protein shakes, thicker soups, etc. I’m not hungry, but I do get a feeling like I should eat at regular meal times. I get thirsty as well in between. TMI but I have to run to the bathroom every time I have my broth. I’m an instant processor. I’m a little worried about going back to work on Monday and having that problem at lunch.

Five day follow up
Cl@ireyBearry replied to LisaCh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your worries and fears are all normal, I have has extreme dumping in my first month, and every once in a while now, (3 months post op) I remember the day I had an actual mostly solid BM! About 3-4 weeks post op? My family and I actually celebrated even though people talk about poop like it’s TMI! I tried to keep taking sips of water every 10 mins, and all I could stomach was chicken broth for the first 10 days. Jello and popsicles (sugar free) helped a lot. Also, about 2 weeks after my surgery I began to have a fever every day from about 2 pm to 8pm sometimes longer. I had one infected site (robotics) and when I did get the antibiotics, they stopped all digestion. But I made it through. You may have some worries and fears, but that’s normal. And as long as you just do your best to follow the diet guidelines, you WILL lose weight! Cheers! -
This might be a little TMI for the guys so apologies

Okay ladies, I'm just over 5 weeks post op gastric sleeve, including my pre op diet I've lost 20kgs or 44lbs. However I've noticed that every time I get my period my weight loss stalls for the whole 6 days. I'm not super worried about it but just wanted to see if this happens to anyone else?? SEPTEMBER 2014 POST-OP SLEEVERS CHECKING IN!
LaLoLaughs replied to Rovobay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi everyone! I barely made the cutoff for this thread. Got sleeved on the 30th. I was discharged 2 days post op, but bc I was given the option by my doctor to stay another night and I decided that might be best just to ensure, in my mind at least, that everything was fine. I'm easing off the liquid Tylenol with codeine and trying to use it only at night. I am/was a tummy & side sleeper, so that has been my biggest issue, both in terms of frustration and pain. Thankfully it is getting easier. I haven't been tracking my fluid intake too heavily but will do so today. I was pumped with so many fluids during my stay, that I haven't had much thirst and my urine is on track (TMI?). The lack of hunger is amazing to me. Not going to lie though, the head hunger has tripped me up a couple of times. I'm also trying really hard not to jump on the scale until my 1st post-op visit on the 8th-we shall see how long that lasts :-) One question-as a severe seasonal allergy sufferer, I'm taking liquid Allegra everyday. Thankfully, it's keeping most symptoms at bay. However that occasional sneeze and nose blowing is so painful. I found out the hard way NOT to hold in a sneeze-that was the most painful thing during the entire process so far. Any tips on how to make it less painful to sneeze? -
hmmm....does this qualify as TMI ?

OK SO, even big, I've always had a high sex drive and high flexibility. I'm slightly worried about losing more and being so much smaller than my 6'7", big wide boned hubby. (he nearly always pops my right hip out of socket... TMI!) But, he's pretty excited about being able to pick me up and etc. Speaking of the exercise ball... any preference for size and shape? I do a lot of push-ups and sit-ups on a fairly big one (but I'm 5'10")... I'm thinking I need to buy another big one for pop-age! But, folks, let me just say one thing... HOT-TUB... Nuff said!

Toilet troubles! Advanced warning
SamDS100 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hello apologies for the unsavory topic! I'm waiting to hear back from my surgical advice but wanted to ask here because people are so helpful, I'll be 3 weeks post op this sunday and every day since the surgery I've had bad diarrhea (as in complete liquid and orange) apologies tmi I know Has anyone else had this? I'm struggling because it makes me feel nauseous all day nearly and I know it's only a matter of time before I need to go and sit on the throne again, I lie down after and about 20 minutes later I dont feel so awful Surgery advice said they would expect it to be dumping syndrome but I haven't had sugars because they taste foul at the minute and I'm hardly eating or drinking either and it's been every flipping day now! I know it must clear up but it's making it so all I'm doing is lying down and feeling like I made a stupid decision Thanks in advance! Sam -
So I have always had a problem with bowel movements. I get constipated really really easily. I haven't had a bowl movement since before my surgery. (I am 5 days post op) Is it okay to take some stool softeners/laxatives? If so, how many should I take? Before surgery I would have to take up to 7 capsules to even budge a little bit. I'm really scared to take too many.

I'm actually feeling really well! A little pain in my left side sometimes but that's totally normal. Ill tell you when they say you feel full, there not kidding lol it's like where was this full feeling all along?! I actually drink Muscle Milk Light. You can get the powder or the all ready made. At first I got the powder and was using skim milk in it hoping to get extra protein, it was just not sitting well with my body. I never got sick, but "TMI" it just went right through me. So i now use Water. The shakes themselves are pretty good though. chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and strawberry banana are all quite good. I tried peach mango and it was just not my thing. I also tried Core Protein Light which they have at a little mini mart down from my house and that was good too.

Feel like I can eat A LOT!
Jenngf5 replied to Veronica Page's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The mushy stuff goes down easier. As soon as you really start eating solids it will not be that way. I'm 1 month post op and still much of my diet is softer Proteins. I was craving carbs after the gym at work the other day and order a bagel w cream cheese. I ate maybe a third and that took me forever. I later just licked the cream cheese off. TMI but true. I hated to throw it out but it wasn't going in without be being sick.
