  1. Tonight I ate sushi and it was not good for me. I did have something that I never ate before but wow I didn't expect this reaction from my bell. I threw up and not can't stop burping and pardon the tmi but I really just wish I could poop. I am going to take a step back tomorrow and do clear liquid all day to maybe flush out my belly. If anyone has suggestion for my " # 2 " problem I would appreciate it. It's been 6 days HELP.
  2. Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast has fiber added to it now. You may find if you take supliments it is too much. I find the Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast gives me a tummy ache (gas pains I belive) from the fiber. Sorry if that was TMI, but I thought I would warn you. :yikes:
  3. I have always been happy with myself. It has never really mattered to me what others have thought of me - because only I can control how I feel. If others don't like me because I'm heavy - well that's their loss. So in that regard, I'm probably not your typical morbidly obese person. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2003. My A1C was just over 7 - so not too awful. In the years following, it had remained in the low 7's. In the last year it has leaped up to the high 7's. My doc still says that I don't need an endocrinologist - I just need to loose weight. But he has no suggestions on how to do that. So, I research and try different diets just to have my weight increase to the highest I have ever been. Yup, that worked... NOT. But still, that wasn't the tipping point for me. In 2005, my back started bothering me. My doc has me do physical therapy and it helped. Then 2 years later, it acted up again - this time the pain went down my right leg and I woke up one day and was not able to get out of bed. I had to use the restroom of course, but it took me 2 hours to get out of bed so that I could walk to the bathroom - just 10 steps away from my bed! At this point the MRI showed I had a bulging disc and they did surgery to fix it. Now, 4 years later, I am finally able to stand straight, but can't stand for more than 5 minutes without breaking out in a sweat. I also can't walk more than 10 minutes without having issues. My health has really gone downhill since that surgery and I regret having it. My left leg is getting the same pain that my right leg had, but I will deal with that pain for as long as possible before having that surgery again. I know that loosing weight will help my back (at least that's what every doctor says), but again, that's not the tipping point for me. In 2008, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and given a CPAP. I tried it for a year, trying different masks and machines, but felt that it was actually making my sleep worse and not better (I was more tired after using it), so I stopped using the CPAP. But this was not a tipping point for me. In the last year, I have had to get new clothes - size 28w. I have never in my life had to wear clothes that big. That was depressing - but still not the tipping point for me. My new avatar was a picture taken at Christmas last year. I was helping out at a Christmas program, and decided that I would dress as an elf since there was already a Santa. I found the largest elf costume that I could find - and it barely fit. The tights weren't even close to fitting, but luckily, I had a pair of dark green pants that worked well with the costume top. The gentleman who played Santa used a pillow to make him "fat" like Santa is supposed to be. But, as you can see from the picture, his elf was larger than he was! That was depressing! But again, it's not the tipping point for me. Over the past year or so, I've noticed I have had more issues getting myself "clean" after #2. It's been harder and harder to wipe everything. It just occurred to me that it's probably because I'm bigger and thus can't reach as well now. So, yeah, this is a definite factor in my decision - but still not the tipping point for me. (Sorry for the TMI.) So with all of that said, what really is the tipping point for me? It's the fact that although I have insomnia big time, I could fall asleep easily during the day and I am so lethargic that I don't do activities that I used to. It's getting worse too. I've seen my parents do this, and some friends and I hate that they do this. I have realized I am becoming like them and I really do not want that to happen. So how crazy is it that the reason I finally decided to do this is because I am literally tired of being so tired?

    Banders #6

Just wanted to mention that I need new stockings. I'm wearing a pair I got from the back of the drawer and now I know why they are there. Talk about baggy ankles...I keep having to pull them up so high that the waistband is up under my boobs. I know...TMI for the guys on this thread but you're all married so you know the score. Have a great Monday everyone!

    Pooped from Pooping

Okay RYN Family, I am 3 months post op! Started my regular diet Wednesday and even before, I have been pooping everytime you turn around! I drink and wait 10minutes before eating and after I eat I wait 30 min. It still seems as if I am drinking, eating and pooping. My butt is having a romance with the toilet paper and I am hating it! One day I wiped so much my butt split! I know TMI! I hope this will resolve soon! I went shopping today, I hate eaten my breakfast did not have anything to drink a matter of fact was afraid to drink 30 min after the fact but my stomach rumbled and made obnoxious soundds I was so embarassed! I went and got me some Gas X to take right then and there! On the way home, I didn't know if I ws going to make it or not! (I made it barely) I remember my dietician saying, "Do not trust passing gas, and some people wear adult diapers!" I refuse to do that but not to prideful to wear a pad. Any suggestions or encouragement of this to shall pass! Thank s everyone!

    yucky ? (IBS AND MORE)

I have IBS too. I guess you can say I used to have it although, not as severe as you. I would have diarrhea (sorry-TMI), whenever it acted up. Since I've been banded, I haven't really had any problems with it. I think it's a combination of eating less, eating better and maybe because the food is slowed down by the band in the process. Now, I'm the complete opposite, sometimes, I'm constipated which I haven't EVER experienced before. Good luck!

    Daily News!

Hey there Apples.. I would have to say yes it does make a difference. I lost a significant amount in the mons area and WOW is all I can say. I thought I would need a mons lift as well but it actually shrunk! I am probably at my peak as well since I can't seem to get enough. I have always had a high sex drive but I think I might end up killing my hubby by dehydration lol.. sorry if that was TMI. I have read that with a mons lift the (little man in the boat) is more easily accessible and doesn't have a lot of mass covering it.. i really hope you know what I am saying rofl. So when the mass is pulled up the little man in the boat is more sensitive to just regular sex no touching just from the pressure. Bahh.. this is hard to write without getting into to much detail. So I would say it would help lol. Long- I am only 4 and a half pounds from my goal weight but that goal keeps changing. I was shooting for 165 but I am thinking I might try and go for closer to 150. I just want to be at the smallest possible weight before plastic surgery so I get the best result. I don't want to do it to soon and get plastic surgery lose more weight and have extra skin again.. not that it would be much but hey if I am getting it done why not go for as perfect as possible. As to when I am getting it, I am shooting for this winter so that I can wear a bikini next year.. oh god did I really just say that? Yes I want to wear a bikini next year and I will! My goal is to be in the best shape of my life in my 40's! I will turn 40 in February. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Any October Sleevers?

I'm a week and three days out of surgery, and four days away from broth and rice water. POTATOES. I feel bad as it's my partner's birthday but I'll be just waiting for my dietitian to say "yes potatoes" as my first check-in is that day too XD Other than that, I feel okay? Some pain in the suture where my stomach was removed (TMI) but the gas has finally gone thankfully. Still some pain when I sleep but I think it's just because I am a very on-stomach or the side-sleeper. Happy to hear of everyone's success so far!

    Has anyone NOT PB'd??

Slime to me is to pb, to pb does not mean you throw up, like it comes from the toes, it's the relief of that golf ball feeling or stuck feeling with "slime" ....just my opinion. Hope that wasn't TMI.

    Travelling to get DS Surgery

I had the Loop DS (which is a little different) January 23 2020 (right before the Covid crap storm). From what I remember... I didn't poop a whole lot the first two or three weeks since I was on liquids and then puree and barely ate anything so from my own experience maybe your plane ride will be fairly normal. I did have overactive bowels once I hit stage 3, but hell, when I hit stage 4 I actually got constipation issues (and then learned it was because I was taking too much iron. Went from taking 3 multi's with iron to 2 and then finally down to 1 multi with iron. My family actually tends to hyper absorb iron and I forgot about that so... I actually don't need as much of it and still test in the normal range. Smack dab in the middle of normal at that). They probably won't warn you, but there is the rare chance it'll happen to you too so... 1. I vomited old blood after my surgery. It hurt like hell, but only happened 4 times so... not too bad, I guess. And, 2. Any surgery with malabsorption has a 3% chance of you developing either a wheat allergy or Celiac Disease (I got the wheat allergy). Also, when you do get put onto general diet try to avoid fatty foods because they will likely cause stomach issues (at least they did to me earlier on. And still kinda do that to me now). And if you wait too long to eat your stomach may decide to empty everything in your bowels (I can't be the only one who had this surgery that this happens to. Also, I'm not joking). It's incredibly annoying, but if I have constipation issues I know how to solve it lol. Problem is though that you will be in and out of the bathroom for a few HOURS because your stomach will not settle and my surgeon warned not to take imodium because it can cause bowel blockage and with this surgery you REALLY don't want that. So you'd be stuck at home. Best thing to avoid this is have something like a granola bar next to your bed so you can eat if your stomach wakes you up (mine does. but I'm stupid and ignore it sometimes because I'm tired and I pay for it later... bright side, if you can call it that lol, is that after the day spent in the bathroom you'll drop 2-4 pounds and no, I'm not joking. You really go that much. Or I do, at least. TMI, sorry). Also, regarding needing to be around a bathroom... not necessarily, but make sure you know where it IS. If you need to go then you will get a rumbling in your tummy and you will know when you need to rush to the bathroom. So make sure you do know where it is just in case. Also, the thing they say about never trusting a fart? Don't gamble because you might lose lol (I'd say 80% of the time it's an okay gamble, but the other 20% could be embarrassing if you were in public). Again, sorry for the TMI, but I figure it's info that you'd probably need to know. I'm happy with the surgery I chose, btw and have no regrets (other than wishing I hadn't had to take a med for my Trigeminal Neuralgia that made me gain 18 pounds back and even if I lost half of that since I switched meds I still can't lose the other 9 pounds for the life of me. But really that's not the surgery's fault, it's just my stupid ass TN that decided it was going to crap on my happy parade and send me into absolute agony and force me to take meds that make me gain weight... and yes, I'm still upset about it since the flare is still going on 7 months later and even if it's mostly under control now it's a progressive disorder and I REALLY don't want to have brain surgery AGAIN! Sorry. Rant over). Anyway, I wish you the best and hope everything goes well for you!

    Mine will be lingerie!

I have some stuff that I already bought but am not ready to wear yet. Here goes some TMI: one is a school girl outfit with 6 inch heels that are pink and then theres the naughty cop outfit with thigh high boots.Husband better watch out cause I have some handcuffs for that outfit
  16. Don't mean to hijack your thread, Bob, but feel that this would be a comfy place for me to ask a couple of questions, if you don't mind. History...banded June, 2008 and have been at goal (23lbs below original goal but OK with where I am at and so is doc) since Oct, 2008. At first I was "somewhat" satisfied with my hanging skin on my lower abdomen. I look good in my clothes but feel terrible naked or in underclothes....it hangs out the bottom (tmi). The farther out I get the more the skin seems to hang and bother me. While exercising/walking/exerting myself, the fold becomes icky and irritated. This may seem silly but the problem I am having is with "deserving" to get this problem taken care of. It's almost like I am selling myself short of taking this last step of this journey. Make sense to any of you? As I stated, right after reaching goal I told myself I would be happy with whatever if I looked good in clothes. Now, since it seems to be getting in my way and physically and emotionally bothering me, I feel like I am giving into something that would be egotistical. Silly, I know. Anyone else feel this way?
  17. So I know I'm not alone in having bowel movement changes post surgery and I can't really talk about the embarrassing things that have happened because of this with other people who haven't had the surgery. So on to the TMI situation. Nearly every month right before I get my period I have a BM that clogs the toilet at work. Today it happened and I was panicking because the toilet would not flush. I had to get creative to actually fix it. If this happened once and never again, it wouldn't be a huge deal, but it is has happened, specifically at work, three or four times already. Does anyone else have embarrassing issues with BMs after they have surgery?
  18. Hey all! I am almost 3 weeks out. And in that total, I have had a total of two bowel movements. The first one was extremely hard to get out (sorry tmi) and since then have started fiber gummies and stool softeners. Only have had one more and it was a little easier to get out than the first. My main question and concern is, I wonder what you all did to stay regular. The stool softeners make my stomach cramp and I dont think they are good for me to take everyday! Does it get better? I understand I'm still in soft food phase but wondering if when I'm on a reg diet for it change that much? Wasn't prepared at all for this aspect of the struggle...

    My Plastic Surgery Thread

TMI Alert. Before my LBL there was too much excess skin for easy intercourse. Something folded or bunched or just got in the way. It was better after LBL The inner thigh work though returned intimacy to the magical level.

    Recommendations?

I only took my pain killer the morning after the surgery, but only because I had a killer headache. My surgeon, and I can only guess all, suggested I have tylenol (acitominophen) so you have it on-hand when needed. Make sure you have something that will help you...TMI, but help you go # 2. Many people, myself included, faced issues with constipation. I highly recommend a hot tea called Smooth Move. It's gentle, no cramping, and will get you going within 12 hours. Trust me, you'll thank me.... Best of luck....
  22. I call my fiance's penis MINE. lol. He calls it Time Warner. Because it is as big as a cable remote. LOL. TMI I know. lol
  23. I think the thing that makes me look at vitamins differently is my two pregnancies. I had bad levels my first one and was so constipated (tmi) from iron supplements I started having contractions.. my second pregnancy I took one that was food based and noticed a dramatic difference. The main difference is vitamins and minerals that are manufactured vs made in nature. And the prenatals are cheaper than the bariatric vitamins my Dr recommend. But any vitamin is better than no vitamin. My mom had bypass 5 years ago and hasn't taken anything in a year and is now dealing with iron infusions and b 12 shots :/
  24. I had my surgery august 12 I was able to get All the gas Out tmi however now I can’t seem to get full at all no matter what I drink what are options you guys can offer I wanna try smoothies but I’m not sure please help I’m starving and I don’t think I will make two weeks to get back to the doctor to get to the next stage They put me back on the clear liquids
  25. Well, I made it! Had my surgery August 5th @ 8:00 am. My doctor told me that the surgery went very well! I lost 13 lbs. in the one week liquid diet before my surgery! He did say my liver was fatty, but that's because I've been super-sized for several years. But even though my BMI isover 60, he said my surgery was no more difficult than any others he has done! I am sore, though. I have 5 incisions, but only one hurts, this must be the port incision. I've had some gassy, watery diarrhea (sorry if that's TMI), and am belching a bit. I've not been hungry at all. I spent the night in the hospital and had a few sips of broth and jello, but mostly just sipped water all day. I am going to try to eat/drink more today to build up my strength. I want to try to start getting my protein in again, so I don't start losing my hair. Congrats to the other August Bandsters! I'm ready to start getting my life back now!
