    Success In A Wall Shadow!

Thanks everyone... :biggrinjester: This was just a fun moment for me. Being this far out the NSV's are less and less so when I get one I just have to jump on it... LOL! Julie, that's funny you mention the booty thing. I was looking at mine today and noticed the surgeon took some out when he did my lipo. I suddenly felt a little worried like I hope he didn't take out too much!! That would be a tragedy!!
  2. thankyou to everyone for all your interesting and positive stories and comments. i have my pre-op tommorrow nov 22. hopefully surgery in 2 weeks or so. i hope to be in your NSV club soon! I love reading all the stories because it gives me a broad range of info. Thankyou everbody !!
  3. Yes we all are about due. You are doing a good job. I have lost 104 lbs also, I have 40 more to go. But the scale is moving very slow. I think I need a fill. The last time I went in Sept. for my year check up. He told me to wait another 3 months, they didn't want to overfill me then I am running back to have it taken out. I feel some days I am struggling not to overeat. But all in all it is going very good. Keep up the good work and I love NSV's everyday I have a new one.
  4. These NSV's just keep coming ! ! ! I put on a pair of sweats that I had washed, and put away in the Dresser. They are a XL in size. I put them on today, and they were falling off ! ! ! I was going to the Gym, so I said NO ! It can't be.... I need them for today until I come back and do the Laundry. Then I thought WHAT ! What are you thinking "YES!" That means you now fit in a Large in sweats, My husband looked at me and said wow! you are shrinking ! He saw how they just hung on me, so did the top. So I said I'll pick some up somewhere, but at this rate, I'm not buying all new, These are about 6 weeks old, and they were a snug fit. Not Anymore! So now I'll be trying a LARGE. That's a size I haven't been into since I was in my Teens. I had a unfill, so I thought I don't want to gain weight. I guess I was wrong.. You look in the Mirror, and you just see you ! I had no idea at all that I dropped a size in sweats . This band is Great ! If you have patience, and don't worry about the scale so much. Just work out and watch your cloths sizes shrink... This works ! That's how it works for me.... Shirley.

    Super Nsv (sort Of)

That's an awesome NSV! Congrats! I am so happy for you.
  7. Talking to my dad on the phone about how I'm in desperate need of new clothes and he said, "Oh, right. I forgot that my daughter was the incredible shrinking woman. I'm so proud of you!" Best NSV to date!

  8. I clicked on your posting, and your before and after shots came up... You look Fantastic ! ! Just thought I would send that your way, Also a major NSV. Shirley...

    Nsv...yay!

Congrats to you! that is a great NSV.
  10. Today I was out shopping for a Christmas tree with my fiance, when I saw some cute coats in Walmart. My old winter coat is gigantic on me so I figured "What the heck." and tried a few on...in a size large. And they fit! I was so shocked I kept checking the tags to make sure I hadn't grabbed an XL by accident! This was definitely the boost I needed, since the numbers on the scale have been creeping down very slowly and I was starting to get frustrated. I love my band!
  11. I have been sharing with close friends that I had finally made it into the 100's and a few of them were shocked! They assumed I weighed more like 160lbs!!! (I'm only 5'4'') Wow, I didn't believe the first one but then 3 more people said the same..... Wow and I thought I looked more like 220ish in my brain. :-) this has made my weekend!!! I would rather weigh more and look good than weigh less and look bad!

    What Does Nsv Stand For?

Walking for 9 holes of Golf is one for sure. A lot of times we get worried when we don't see the scale move. That doesn't mean that your not losing ! You start losing inches. That can be a bigger victory then the scale. Like Kitty said, cloths sizes go down, so you are smaller, fitting in a Restaurant Booth, or Theater Seat, Getting complimented from someone on your weight Loss, Crossing your Legs. All these and more, that does not pertain to the scale is a NSV. Celebrate them all....
  13. Congrats to you!! I hear ya- I was able to fit in an old L winter coat I had previosly worn. Love that I didn't have to buy a new one- but next year I will and I will be happy to! Hopefully it will be a M or S! These are the little NSV's I love!

    What Does Nsv Stand For?

NSV is any accomplishment or victory that you've achieved that doesn't include a scale. It could be a smaller clothing size, someone paid you a compliment about your weight loss, fitting to an airplane seat or another seat, crossing your legs, etc. anything that maybe you wouldn't or couldn't do before. It's a victory to be celebrated even if the scale isn't moving (or if it's not moving enough or the right way!) Celebrate every little thing and be proud of what you've accomplished. It's the little things that add up to big success.

  18. Hey gang! I get that an NSV is a milestone, or compliment, but I can't figure out what it stands for. Help a brother out!
  19. I was in a week long class this week, with people from all over the country. No one had seen me in person before, only had worked with me remotely. I have a bum ankle/foot - which precludes me from wearing normal dress shoes. I wear orthotic inserts, a metal plate under one insert, and usually an ankle brace of some sort. To fit all this gear in, I wear Chuck Taylor's Converse All Star Tennis shoes with my work attire. I indulge my love of pretty shoes by having an assortment (20 pair0 of Chucks (lots of high tops) that match any business outfit I have. One of the woman at the class was complimenting my shoes on Friday. I explained why I wore Chucks - and mentioned to her I had to decide whether to something like them or bite the bullit and wear orthotic / nursing shoes. She said - "Oh, you are way to young to wear orthotic shoes. You are so beautiful thin, the Chuck's look really cute on you. They make a statement - you are young, with a edge. They are just part of your "brand."". I was so pleased, I laughed aloud. I can't imagine she would have said the same thing to me 9 months and 100 pounds ago. Her comments startled me - being considered young - as I will be 55 this Christmas - and meing caled beautiful thin and cute also took my breath away. This might me the nicest thing anyone has said to me since my surgery.
  20. I had a fasting blood sugar of 98 this morning without any diabetic medicine. A great NSV for me. TBM
  21. Long story short I spend a lot of time outside, even in the cold NY winters. I have been putting off buying a new Jacket, and had given away all my old ones that were way to big. I went shopping for new Jacket last night, not only did I find the same Columbia jacket that dicks had marked down from 210.00 to 150.00 Kohls had it marked down to 129.00, TJ Maxx had it for 79.99, Major score on the price! Now for the most important part of the story, its not a XXXXL, XXXL, XXL, or even a XL, its a large, and I still have extra room in it! Its hard to believe that last fall I was wearing XXXXL - XXXL depending on the type and brand of the jacket. I have never in my life been able to fit in anything made by Columbia, This is just the motivation I need to get back at it for the last 25 lbs I need to lose.
  22. Those are Great NSV's...
  23. I am a slower loser than you. I am one month post-op and have only lost 16 lbs. But in thinking about it, I lost an average of 0.5 lbs a day. Wow! now lets see, you lost 47 lbs in 60 days... that is an average of 0.8 lbs a day. Perspective is what we need sometimes. Are you walking? Have you tried increasing your calories by trying a different kind of shake that has more calories in it? Maybe you need to snack on fruits and veggies between meals to get some extra stuff in. You can always do the "5 day pouch test" to get the scale moving again. Are you losing inches? Have you allowed yourself to notice any NSV's? Relax and enjoy. Don't be hard on yourself and certainly don't compare yourself to any one else. There is only one you and no one else is like you. You are one of a kind! Shae

    Male NSV here (possible TMI)

Guys, I don't know the proper ratio here but get this: I am down nearly 60lb and have gained an additional 1" of usable (ahem) appendage. Now I guesstimate there to be an additional 1.25" in captivity. Yeah I checked. And without giving actual dimensions I can say that I and my S.O. seem pleased.Good thing that isn't fat because I'm sure we'd be in a panic mode at the thought of losing ANY of it.
