    November 26th Check In :)

I am down 2.4 lbs this week to 191.8 - just 2 ounces shy of my Thanksgiving goal. I hope to get into the 180's by next week - haven't been there in about 13 years! I had a great NSV yesterday. I am a singer and do a lot of gigs every Nov/December with people that I only really see during that time of year. I sang with one of the women last night and she asked me if I had lost some weight. I told her that I had lost 50 lbs and she said that when had I arrived at the gig she didn't even recognize me. That made me feel great!

    November 26th Check In :)

I checked back to my last check-in and I'm down 2 lbs i the last two weeks The weight is just coming off soooo sloooowwwlllyyyy. But I had a very nice NSV yesterday. I bought some pants at Coscto, which was an NSV in itself (they don't sell plus sizes!). But I didn't just need the 18's, the 16's fit. So, I decide to head back later in the day with my mom, and decided to get a pair of 14's, to use as a next set of goal pants. Brought then home and tried them on to see how far before I could get them fastened, and THEY FIT!! I WAS ABLE TO FASTEN THEM!! Without even laying down on the bed!! I fit in a size 14. What's ridiculous is that I've been wearing some of the same brand in 18's. Yeah, they are a bit loose, but I guess I need to pay more attention to how loose! So, even though the scale is being a b***h, the inches are still coming off. Going to take measurements this weekend too.

    My First Nsv!!!

Even though I just had surgery on Monday, I've already had a non scale victory! When I logged today's weight into my fitness pal, it said because I had lost more than 10 pounds, they had to recalculate my goals. I know my calorie goal was over 1300 (which I thought was a bit much) but now it's down 1240. I'm totally psyched! I'm not logging my food right now because I'm just on full liquids. I'm nowhere close to the amount of calories I should be having, so I don't see the sense in it. I love this app!!

Smaller clothes are the ultimate NSV! Congrats! Don't go to crazy buying 14's like I did. The smallest I ever was in my life was a 14. When I got back to it, I figured I would never get any smaller so I went ape buying them. I had quite the wardrobe. Now I'm a 10-12 and have all these clothes that I spent a fortune on and can't wear! Luckily I have a sister-in-law and a couple friends that are that size.

    Camisoles Are My Friend

I have been shrinking back through stored clothing, and have recently discovered some pretty camisoles I don't even remember having. I like them enough I ordered a couple of more. I like them because: They are pretty Some are shape-wear, and help hold in the jiggly middle Even if they are not shape wear, the cami keeps me from having to look at the jiggly middle The extra layer is nice to wear, since I am ALWAYS COLD. Thought someone else might like to give camisoles a try. And, since this post is about undergarments (yes, I know all camis aren't always "under" garments - but bear with me here) - I am celebrating an NSV about underwear - I dropped another size in briefs! Finally back in 7's. YEA!
  7. Hey everyone!! Check in with your weight lost so far, or even some non-scale victories (NSVs) you'd like to share! I'm down a total of 56lbs, and my biggest NSV is that I was able to avoid the post-Thanksgiving food coma, by sampling a little of everything and not stuffing myself. I didn't even eat any of the Desserts, and that was a big deal to me

    NSV shout outs

I must be an NSV *****! LOL I keep looking for them. After walking out of a pair of pants last week, I decided to go through my closet today while putting away laundry. I've lost my way out of 4 pairs of pants, 2 dresses, several shirts and, unfortunately, my beach cover up. You know, that big t-shirt that us fat girls wear so no one can tell that you're fat under it? Well, mine is a dress now and slipping off my shoulders so badly that it had to go. I also "lost" a beautiful red shirt I bought at the after-Christmas sales last year. It still has the tags on it! Darn it! I guess it's worth losing the $20 shirt to be down almost 60 pounds...and counting! I gained several pairs of pants, though. They are two sizes down from my pre-surgery size, and I am wearing a pair of shorts that wouldn't even go up my thighs back then. So, I'm getting to wear some new stuff even while I'm packing up the old stuff.

    Yea for NSV!
  10. Burgandy, I'm in the same boat. I feel your frustration! We can get through this! I am trying hard to keep faith by using this site, the NSV's and the wonderful people on here. There are many people with great experience posting on this site. I am so thankful that they are willing to share their experience, strength and hope with us. Hang in there. I'm right along side you. Big hugs, Lisa

I do all my shopping online, but a friend asked me to go shopping at midnight. I went and while she was shopping, I said well I will get me a pair of jeans beings I have only one pair that will fit. I go and try the 16 on...too big. I needed a 14. I was super happy because the ones I wore on Thanksgiving (yes they were a little baggy) were a size 20!!! I have not even put the jeans in the laundry basket because I keep looking at the size!!
  15. It sounds like you're right on track, then. I know it's tough to be patient when you see others have dramatic drops very quickly, but we all lose at different rates. One thing I've found really helpful for the patience part is to be actively looking for the non-scale victories (NSV) that happen. There's a few NSV threads in the VSG Success Stories area and I hit those whenever i start feeling frustrated. It really helps me to recognize things other than just drops on the scale.
  16. @longer-life, you can hijack anytime! I just love getting all this info and different perspectives. I'm mostly looking forward to the day that I can give this kind of experienced reassurance to someone just starting their sleeve journey. On the low calories, I'm not happy about that because I don't want to get sick. But considering what everyone had to say I'm going to give it a serious effort to try and relax and just step away from the scale. @lissa, I will look for those NSVs! I will add you to MFP too - you're the first one I've tried to add. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
  17. Thanksgiving was such a wonderful time with loved ones! NSV today. On my way home from my VSG surgery last year I stopped in a shopping area. I deliberately bought a dress, purple, super cute in size Medium. At the time it seemed like a pipe dream to even think I could fit into it. It was so tiny to me then!! Well I wore it today. I should've worn it a long time ago because it was big on me. ;o)

  18. Michell, Everyone here is right. That three week stall is a bugger!! Just keep doing what you know you have to do: work on getting in your Protein and your Water, walk as much as you can, do a little light weigts for your arms (to avoid the jiggle arms) and don't worry about it. I'm a classic control freak, but I've found that I have to let go of what I can't control here and let my sleeve do it's job. I'm on MFP as well (Lissa912 if you want to friend me) and, at two months and three weeks out, I've lost nearly 60 pounds. I've been floating between 295 and 299 for over a week, but I didn't let it frustrate me because my clothes were getting bigger and bigger. Have you read about NSV's yet? Those are Non scale Victories. Check out that thread in success stories and definitely keep your eyes open for them. It makes letting go of the scale obsession so much easier when you start seeing all the other positive things that happen besides dropping pounds! Good luck on your journey!!
  19. First, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Second, I weighed myself this morning & I hit 199.8!!!! WooooooHooooooo! I was sleeved on the 14th & lost 6 lbs on the pre-op diet and am down 19lbs in like 3 weeks!! And if that weren't enough I am down a full pants size & am wearing jeans I have never worn before cuz they were too small!! This is the best Thanksgiving ever!!! G

    NSV shout outs

My most recent NSV is losing 9" from my body - 4" from my waist! This was the first time we measured since the night before surgery so it shocked me. Another is that I have to get rid of some of my shoes that I love :nonod: because they are too big for me. One pair is over 10 years old so I know I will not be able to find them again. However, I will be able to find better ones now since I no longer wear a WIDE :purplebananna:

    New Nsv

Somebody told me I looked Stylish today! WHAT!!!! YAY!!!! The weight I have lost gave me the confidence today to wear my jeans inside my new tall boots. And the compliments have been rolling in. This is huge for me. I am 100% a jeans and t-shirt girl, which is allowed at work. But I knew for sure, one day soon that Stacy and Clinton from "What Not To Wear" would be banging down my door! Stylish....who knew! Thank you lapband

    So Many Nsv's....

    Great NSVS!
  24. This past week has been filled with so many NSV's that I have to share... 1) my 16 year old outgrew a pair of his 30X34 jeans- they fit me!!!!! 2) I recently started a new job & still haven't got acquainted with everyone- I overheard someone describe me as "the tall SKINNY girl with blondish hair"!!!! 3) I went to North Face & bought size 8 khakis!! (I thought size 8 jeans I have were a fluke!!) 4) I ran into someone who hasn't seen me in a few months & she didn't recognize me!!!! 5) I never ever saw a resemblence between my children & me until reently- I found that we have the same facial features/bone structure, mine was just hiding!!! 6) Oh yeah- I've caught men lookin'!!!! 7) My shoes are too big!! 8) I made an appointment with plastics, for a few minor enhancements!!! 9) I walked by a mirror the other day & thought "she's got on the same shirt as me", only to realize "IT IS ME"!!!! 10) I posted all of my old clothes for sale on a classified site, I'll NEVER need them again!!!!!! Hope all of my fellow-sleevers enjoy the little NSVs as much as I do!!!!!
  25. Such kind comments. It was fun to sit down yesterday morning and think about how my life has changed. Thanks so much for celebrating my 3 mo. surgiversary and NSV's with me!
