  1. Went to Anne Taylor yesterday and bought a size 10 and size 8 in two zip up dresses! I literally could not believe it, I have NEVER been able to wear a dress with a zipper, and now I can fit into 10s and 8s! 96 pounds down, feeling AMAZING

    Dreaming... about clothes

@@Margie122 - I do the same thing. I purge and look for things that are marked down in the newer size and about three to four months later I purge them. That's the best NSVs as the inches go bye bye.
  3. So I have set a few goals for myself, and I thought it would help to share them here. I have lost 105 pounds total so far, 92 since the date of surgery. I lost 13 pounds the 2 weeks before sugery. So, I think my weightloss has been pretty good, and now it is slowing down. I can't really complain because I am still losing 2-3 pounds a week. But I think I could lose 4-5 pounds a week since I stil have 99 to lose. So, I am going to change things up for the next few weeks. I have been tracking what I eat and I am grazing way too much. Its going to be hard to break that, but I will! Right now, I am at 264 pounds. My goal is to be 240 pounds by March 28th, 2011. That is 6 weeks away, so an average of 4 pounds per week. I don't think that's an unacheivable goal for me. My second goal is to stop the snacking! And my third goal is to not weigh myself this entire week, until Monday morning!!! That will be SOooooo hard since I weigh myself multiple times a day! I think it will be more rewarding if I wait all week! And I have an NSV to share too!!! I am now severely obese, instead of MORBIDLY obese! Woohooo. From what I found, severe obesity is a BMI of 35-39.9 and I am at a BMI of 37.9, so I have been out of morbid obesity for a while When I get to 240 pounds, I will just be obese! After I meet that goal, my next mini goal will just to be overweight, hehe! As I type this, I also noticed that I have 99 more pounds to lose! That feels so awesome to have less than 100 pounds to lose when you start out needing to lose over 200 pounds!!! WOW!
  4. I got in the car today--and noticed that I seemed to be sitting lower in the seat. Sure enough, the rear-view mirror was showing part of the back seat instead of out the back window. I live alone, so I know no one has changed the seat settings, so I was puzzled. Then I realized MY BUTT IS SMALLER! I've lost so much padding in the rear that I'm now sitting lower in the driver's seat. I've kept my boobs but my butt is a pancake!
  5. i hear ya!! I sit with my legs crossed ALL the time now!!! It is such a great feeling!!! GREAT NSV!!!!
  6. A great NSV. I went shopping this morning and found an awesome tube top like shirt. I fell in love with it and decided to grab it up. I hate trying on in the store, bad memories of nothing ever fitting. So I grabbed an XL and said to myself well it probably won't fit now but will be awesome for when we go to Florida in a month. I get home pull it up and it slides back down!!!! Woot woot!! So I go back to the store get the L in every color they had!! I love clothes so much I can't wait to buy more!!! Now If my bottom would just lose faster.... Ok with being pear shaped just wish it was a smaller pear haha.

    Low Bp! Yay!

So i have felt tired today and I asked one of the nurses to check my bp. I was 110/60. My bp has been dropping since surgery and I am on a low dose only of lisinopril. The dose is going to be cut in half and I will soon be off it!. This is a great NSV for me! I used to be on 3 drugs now almost on none for bp!

    1st NSV in a while!

Yay!! Great job Jenn. Yeah, I think it may be time for you to move out of Lane B and into the regular sized clothes stores. This is a great NSV. Ms. Lady, I am watching the clearance racks at stores now for 18, 16 and 14s. Just the other day at Stein Mart I got a cute spring/summer dress marked down from $68 to $3.95!!!! in a size 14. I have no doubt I will be out of my 22s and into a 14 by next spring/summer. It is the only way I can figure out how to clothe myself on my fixed income while moving through the sizes. I am trying to only buy a few things in each size and shopping only the clearance racks. I hope when I get to each size I won't be in them long enough to need much.
  9. Today I decided that I needed some new jeans and bras because my old ones were too big, so I stopped in Lane Bryant since I had a coupon. The saleswoman was very nice and helpful, but I was having a heck of a time finding my size (I'm a 14 now). As I was trying on a coat, she looked at me and said "You know, you're going to be too small for Lane Bryant pretty soon". I couldn't help but smile!

    Taking off my fat suit

Had a busy day yesterday so didn't get chance to do my 9 week update. Things continue to be good :-) lost 6lb this week so that helps make up for the no loss while I Watson holiday! The greater thing tho is that I've managed to come back from a holiday and get back on plan, which is a big achievement for me and another sure sign the sleeve is a good decision for me :-) So I'm no in the 16's and started in the 20's (stones). Love it!! Had another shopping splurge this week bought some gym gear which was equally as exciting as the dress I bought to wear to my besties 40th bday party at the end of August! Both of these are wonderful nsv's for me I just need to start using the gym gear now! I have s training session to get some tips on using kettle bells with a friend next week and then I can get started with that. I'm thinking of starting a few other classes too. I had a chat with my mum this week, she was just generally asking how I am feeling and coping, I said to her I honestly haven't had a minute of regret and feel better physically and emotionally than I ever have. It truly is the best decision I ever made :-)

    It's working!

Hi everyone. When I last wrote in this thread I was one fill back from now. I have had 6 fills in 4 mo. Doc said he was getting tired of seeing me lol. He was kidding (I hope). In any case, he went full bore and gave me .05cc. After having posted here last time, my restriction lasted maybe 2 days. But this time....it seems here to stay for a bit. I can eat like 1/4 cup of food at a time and am not hungry. At first I was pb'ing and sliming a bit because it takes getting used to, this eating so much less. And you really really have to chew the food too. I'm very happy because I am losing like .5 pound every day or two. I've been off work for like 3 weeks (vacation and then sprained ankle) so I hope when I go back, someone gives me a nsv. Valerie
  14. Hello, I'm Linda. I don't have a band yet but am pursuing it. I've been reading a lot on your board and it makes me feel even more confident that the band is the right choice for me. I hope you don't mind me asking stupid questions every now and then. My first one is what is an NSV? I hope to be hanging around here regularly, if you'll have me. I've been looking for a good WLS message board for some time now (I just can't get into the format at Obesity Help and I like and am familiar with vBulletin which is what this board is built on). By way of intro, I am 43, married, with 5 children. My brood is made of all girls and they range in age from 3 to 24. Nice to meet all of you.

  17. Got a new work shirt this morning coz the other one started to look like a dress! So now I'm 2xl instead of 3xl and the 2xl is still a bit baggy! :smile2:

Firsts naked NSV's came in twos

Nope - I think fitting into old clothes that used to be too small is an NSV. You're starting to notice changes that don't just have to do with your weight in the morning. Any way you label it, way to go!!!

23 pounds in 2 months is very good loss in my opinion. You should average 1-2 pounds a week and that sounds right on track. Are you exercising? Are you taking measurements? Sometimes you stall for a few weeks and the loss begins again. Find other NSVs(non-scale victories) to keep you motivated. Some NSVs are getting off of certain medications, being able to wear a piece of clothing that hasn't fit in awhile, being able to climb stairs without stopping to catch your breath, etc. You get the idea. Sometimes it takes a few fills to get where you'd like to be restriction wise. Make sure you keep following all the banster rules, don't drink your calories and hopefully the weight loss will start up again. Hang in there and best of luck to you!
  20. Crossing my legs is my 2nd favorite NSV ever! First one being able to wear a skirt wth no tights and NOT having my thighs chafe. Best thing ever!
  21. Had my first NSV yesterday. As I was getting ready for work, I put on a pair of slacks that were rather tight before surgery. I pulled them on, zipped them up, and they promptly fell to the ground! I laughed out loud as I was thinking about the YouTube video of the grandpa singing the Pants on the Ground rap song. This is a great memory for my first NSV.
