Kids say the darndest things
mommyofLDS replied to mommyofLDS's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is so cute! Luckily mine hasn't seen me in the buff, can't imagine what they might have to say. Our kids noticing the difference is one of those NSV's that we dont think of, but is very rewarding. I was always worried that I would be the 'fat mom' at school and that they might be embarrassed. Now, I'm one of the smaller ones, lol -
Whooo Hooo! Great job Kim, and such a great NSV!

My husband and daughter think I am crazy.....LOL
CheleLynn45 replied to CheleLynn45's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just wanted to let you guys know that I got on the plane and fit just fine (had a little room on each side even.) As happy as I was with that I had another NSV that I wasn't expecting. When they came around with drinks I ordered my Water with no ice and then reached out to put my tray table down. And low and behold it came down and laid flat!! I was amazed. I usually always had to use my daughters or husband's tray on previous trips. I can tell you it felt great!! -
Why am I always hungry? Why am I not losing weight? What is wls? What is NSV? These are just a few. Hope this helps.

THAT is awesome! I asked my doc if he could take a picture of what he took out, but he wouldn't. so cool to see yours! Happy for you about your NSV...too!!!

ch1_image_001.bmpHey guys! I'm so morbid, I asked the doctor to take a pic of my stomach before he took it out. Here it is! Everything is separated, just before he took out the remainder of my stomach... I like to think of it as a reminder of what I went through so I can make this life change.. Everyday is getting better.. I'm confident in my choices now.. I'd just KILL for some real food! LOL... Keith asked me what I want for my first real meal, and I was crying saying "I don't wanna think about that!!" I had an issue with my psych meds, I wasn't taking them like I should have, so I got a little depressed. They're just too big for my stomach.. So, I'm crushing them and putting them in applesauce. I feel old.. LOL... I haven't weighed myself. I'll do that tomorrow. I did go through my clothes today, and I'm glad I'm able to take a few pairs of pants, and dresses to the consignment shop tomorrow, and give some stuff to goodwill.. I was soo stoked about this one skirt I have. It's from Target, and it's a size 18, I think they're cut a little small. Before my pre-op diet I couldn't even get it over my hips. Today I tried it on, and it goes over my hips, and I can almost zip it!!! So excited about that!! I guess that's my first NSV! Happy Labor day guys!

GO P'nut!!!!!! That is a BIG NSV & I am very proud of you!!! I still remember the first time I went out to eat after being banded. I didn't have the food cravings either. However, I will never forget watching my family scarfing down their food at the table. When they were done, they all complained of their stomachs feeling so full. They burped. They had bad breath. They all waddled out the door & had to sit down for awhile, waiting for thier food to digest. I, on the other hand was so overjoyed that I didn't have any of those problems & was ready to go!!! This band really does make you feel FREE & so alive!! We are all in such a better place, don't you agree? One bowl of chili SHOULD feel you up. Going to lunch with a Mother, SHOULD be all about your Mother & the conversation. Eating SHOULD be all about putting good nutritious food in our bodies. Besides, those greasy hamburgers don't really taste as good as they look. Niether does Chocolate, or ice cream, or brownies, or GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!!! They taste TERRIBLE. Just TERRIBLE!!!!!! Ummmm......yeah. I could never eat another girl scout cookie. Never!!....................Really!!!........................I'm serious!...................................They taste TERRIBLE!!! Oh, gotta go. The girl scouts are knocking at my door. :rolleyes

Over 300 pounds, when did you notice a difference?
Kiap82 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Two weeks before surgery I weighed 320. Only lost 7 in the pre-op and 313 day of surgery. Now I'm 3.5 weeks out and down to 289.1. Yay! But I don't feel smaller at all. My clothes don't seem bigger and only the people who know about the surgery will say anything about me looking different. So, my question is: for those of you who were around my weight when you started, when did you feel thinner. What was the first NSV that made you smile and say, yes! This is working! -
Over 300 pounds, when did you notice a difference?
E2013 replied to Kiap82's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am three weeks out. I started at 321, was 280 day of surgery. Yesterday I was 265. So I have lost 56 lbs. this week a lot of people have made comments about how I've lost weight, they can mostly tell in my face. In Sept I bought a couple 2x men's Tshirts, I had to stretch them out when I wore them, and constantly pull on them as I go. Huge NSV, two weeks ago I didn't have to stretch them out! Now they are really big on me! That's the biggest difference I've noticed. I'm still wearing yoga pants daily as they are most comfortable during this time of healing, so my clothing size hasn't changed (yet!) -

How would everyone feel about doing monthly challenges, for our little group? Each month we have a challenge that we can track either with your signature or a ticker and the prize is weight loss, inches lost, NSVs, and better health. I think this would be a great way to challenge the group and keep everyone accountable. Let me know what you think and we will start in August! Also throw some challenge ideas out there!

LOL!! I am hoping later down the road to be able to see my collarbones... I swear I have never seen them, ever. That is going to be a huge NSV for me if it happens. -
What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
onsummit replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanksgiving was amazing. Sat between my little grandsons which was great by itself. But by the time I finished cutting up their food, the platter passing was over and everyone was eating so my smaller portion of turkey seemed ok even to me. And then, the drama! My wedding and engagement rings just slipped off my finger. Found fortunately but everyone be careful. Also know the hotel robe that never fit. Well it does now. Since I can't see the weight loss In the mirror or in my head, I love these NSVs. -
When you get some or all the weight off? I am looking most forward to: 1. not "sizing" up everything to make sure I will fit or not break it due to my weight. Already feel better in a theater seat (nice NSV) 2. shopping in a regular stop department not the plus size section. 3. riding the rides at the amusement parks with my girls and husband. 4-100 oh ya I got a list but these are my favs, anyone else.

I'm loving what I see in the mirror- I haven't lost any weight this week but, I am very proud of myself. I know my body is changing even if the scale says differently! I hope you all have a wonderful day

I had to share my excitement with folks who would understand...I kinda felt like the Progresso Soup commercial where the woman calls about her old jeans fitting and the man just doesn't get it when I tried to share my excitement with my shopping friend today. I went shopping today with some of my Christmas gift cards and just for grins I tried on a size 18 jean and they FIT!! When I had my surgery on April 22, 2011 I was wearing a size 26 so this absolutely made the first day of the New Year great for me. I can't wait to see where I might be on my 1 year anniversary after the success my band has helped me with so far. I am hoping that all my fellow bandsters have a blessed and skinny 2012!!

So my hubby and my daughters went into Kmart to buy something. After they went in I realized that I needed something. I went in and got the thing I needed. I was at the register paying for my stuff when my hubby and kiddos came up to the register across from me. I saw my hubby look over at me, at which time I thought he realized that it was me. He looked me up from the feet to the top.....and then came across my face and then shook his head. He didn't realize that it was me at all. When he did his face had this shocked and embarressed look on it. He laughed and said, "I just got caught checking out my own wife....haha!" I thought it was pretty cool that I am skinny (and sexy) enough for my own hubby to check me out Love it!!!!

Went to Anne Taylor yesterday and bought a size 10 and size 8 in two zip up dresses! I literally could not believe it, I have NEVER been able to wear a dress with a zipper, and now I can fit into 10s and 8s! 96 pounds down, feeling AMAZING

Dreaming... about clothes
jane13 replied to becomingmandikaye's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Margie122 - I do the same thing. I purge and look for things that are marked down in the newer size and about three to four months later I purge them. That's the best NSVs as the inches go bye bye.
