  1. Well - I don't think this is a NSV yet. No divorce or breakup is until you are fully recovered. Sad to hear you are dealing with such drama while trying to get the new you down to goal size. Don't let this problem derail your weight loss journey. Easy now to slide into bad habits so be vigilant. Firmly agree with sassygirl advice - find yourself before even considering a new relationship. When my marriage ended (over a decade of marriage) it took me over 3 years fully heal. Oh, I thought I was good and ended up getting used cause I did not believe in myself. Truly am crying for you. Forge ahead but take time to mourn what was, plan ahead, seek a professional to reflect and learn for the bright future you know can make a reality. Hugs.
  2. wow! i am sooooo very sorry that you have gone through this but this is more than a NSV! this is the chance for a whole new life and a healthier life. i too just got out of a long relationship very recent & i invested so much! maybe a good 75% of me & i lost it but atleast i have 25% of me left to possibly invest in someone who is worth it & ill be winning!
  3. So, I got a text message from my DH last night (and that doesn't mean Dear anything!). Text message said, basically, "File our divorce papers now!" We've been separated since June. I came home from the hospital June 3 on 3 kinds of oxygen. He got ticked because I didn't know what was for dinner that night @@ and broke every dish in our house. I moved out a few days later. I've been doing everything I know how to a. get healthier mentally and physically and b. have even gone to marriage counseling with him, which was useless because he thinks everything is ALL my fault. He's an alcoholic, which he hid from me till after we got married. Now he's in full bloom again. I guess we just weren't meant to be. So, to keep this on topic, can I count this as losing 180 pounds of unnecessary crap in a hurry?
  4. Everyone has a food vice, some chocolate or pizza. Mine is Taco Bell. I closet ate the stuff like it was going out of business. I travel a lot and made sure to stop there whenever possible. During my pre op self choice of a diet, I was coming home tonight and I decided I had a craving. I've been pretty good and lost about 15 lbs in two+ weeks thus far. When I got in there I had a huge feeling of guilt. I decided to do something I've never done... Order a salad (Fiesta chicken salad to be specific). I didn't know what was on it so I just said no shell. Amazingly it was the best thing I ever ate there! (I typically have much better taste in food, but I don't know why but I love it there). I couldn't even finish it! I ate about 3/4 of it and decided to see how crappy it was on myfitnesspal.com, and the whole thing was only 400 calories (cheese and sour cream included, which I'll ditch next time)! My old taco bell outings when I calculated them were about 2000 calories, now I left feeling awesome with a better tasting product for about 300. I know it may sound stupid, but it was a big light for me. When I get banded next month, it can easily be converted to band friendly by ditching the little bit of rice they add. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. But I was quite happy.

    Nsv I Think?

So I just decided to walk 2 miles. I'm in Florida and the weather is beautiful! As I'm walking my pants are falling down. So I reached for the drawstring in the front and WTHeck? no drawstring. So I felt around the back and realized I had my pants on backwards. No wonder the landscaping guys were looking at me funny huh. Well I see it as a NSV. What do you think?
  11. NSV!!! I washed my hair this morning and NO HAIR fell out at all!!! Whoohooo!!!

  12. That 3 week stall is a PITA for sure! You are doing everything right and the weight will start coming off again. Look for the NSVs when you hit stalls. My experience has been that I lose inches when I am not losing pounds. You lose weight, then your body has to adjust things before you will lose more. Two weeks ago, I was bouncing up and down the same 5 pounds, but my pants got so loose they fell off. Now I'm losing between half and one pound a day again. It WILL happen and the stall WILL break.
  13. So today I went back to work after 4 weeks & 28lbs... one of my coworkers (male & a great guy) walked up behind me and said, "Geez, where did the other half of your ass go" LOLOLOLOL It was so funny, but made me feel good! He is one of my best friends at the office & the only one that could say something like that & not piss me off... Just had to share! G

    NSV shout outs

Oh, I had an AWESOME NSV today!! I am laughing at myself because this meant so much, but, Oh Well!! I do contract work for builders, so I travel to their sales centers fairly often. At one, there is a really sweet guy there (I think he's gay, but...) and I hadn't seen him in about 3 weeks. Today I was standing in the back room making copies and he walked into the room, stopped, did a double take and said "You look positively skinny today!" I really don't look "anything" skinny, but it was such a nice morale boost to me! ::::sigh:::: It's the little things.

Nsv - Taken Completely Off Bp Meds

Hello LR, wow CONGRATS on your winning the battle over your HBP!!! That's a very awesome NSV!! Also, that's amazing them taking the rod out and you're being ok without it. That's incredible!
  18. Great nsv! Congrats for getting off of your meds and having your rod taken out. For iron I get iv infusions and it helps a lot.
  19. Hi everyone, I have been on BP meds every since I got married in 2003. Kind of funny and sad all at the same time. I had my surgery in August but yesterday when I visited my PCP she took me off everything. I do need to return in 3 months for a check up to see how I am doing but otherwise--I am doing great. My only issue is Iron and that's because of the excessive bleeding from the fibroid tumors. I was taking Toprol 100mg, Lisinipril (2x per day) 20 mg, Triamertene/HCTZ 75/50 (fluid pill) One of other note, I got the titanium rod taken out of my leg from an accident in 2003 (which they "never" take out) and I am doing fine. I go back to work Monday. :-)
  20. I know.... Those 2 words don't sound like they should be together but I make it work today!!! My hubby and I were doing the majority of our Christmas baking today, and yes I DID sample the goods. BUT.... I only sampled after I had eaten a meal so sampling was at a minimum. Also, I had a break that was about 25 min long. So instead of going and plopping myself on the couch or at the table, I leashed up the dog and took her for a 20min bike ride ( it was a beautiful crisp day here in Vancouver, Canada!!!) then came back and got tobaking again. Yay me!!! I never would've done that before!!!!

    NSV shout outs

Here are my NSV's 1. I can share clothes with my sisters again! 2. I can fit into a park swing 3. I can wrap a towel around my body 4. I can cross my legs! (just a little though) hehe 5. I feel more energetic 6. I am more confident 7. My 11 year old son can finally wrap his arms around my waist (by the way, most of his friend don't recognize me since the surgery. A couple of them have walked right by me without noticing whose mom I was. It's cute to see their shocked expressions when they realize it's me!) 8. For some reason, my memory has very much improved!

    They Called Me A Milf!!!

BEST NSV....EVER!!!! Way to go, you hot momma!!! Kelly
  24. Over the weekend we went out to dinner with my family. We were taken to our table, which just so happened to be a corner booth. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has avoided booths in the past. I was sleeved 10/18 and am down just shy of 50lbs and I still haven't tackled my fear of the booth. Instead of making a big deal out of where we were seated I figured I'd just cross my fingers and try. Wouldn't you know I was one who had to slide towards the middle? lol Not only did I have NO problems "fitting" but I had lots of extra room! I was so happy and sooo relieved! It's the little things like that that happen on a daily basis that I"m really starting to notice. Loving my sleeve!
