  1. I can't believe it's just over 3 months and I'm already halfway there! Imagine if I actually added exercise to the program (which I will in Jan)!! I am so excited! I am down to a 12 petite pants and had to buy new clothes Knee pain...gone feet hurting....nope walk up those stairs...YES! I even spent an entire day walking and shopping and never once got winded or tired. I am real close to having prominent collarbones again. Here's the biggie....I can wear my wedding ring again!!! This was my NSV goal! I do have real bad arms though. My arms never grew normally. They had this HUGE "u" shaped fat roll thing real close to my armpit and the rest towards my elbow was not huge. Now that it is shrinking, it is going to leave a long flap of skin I also noticed my butt is looking flat and saggy. Hopefully I can correct the butt issue in the gym. Anyway, I am sooooo happy with the sleeve Merry Christmas Everyone!

Well....I am pretty sure it has been a month since I was last here. I went for fill four yesterday. I thought fill three was pretty bad. Well fill four has me TIGHT!! I wll truely have to do the liquid, mush and slow solids. I have lost another 4 pounds but better than that I am in a size 16 jeans. So my NSV is more exciting. Hoping and praying all are doing well and have a very Merry Christmas!!

    My First Nsv!

IMO the first NSV is always the best... because it's living proof it's working!! Congrats, this is always a really good one too. I agree with ShellBear, be prepared your rings will be fallen off ya soon... be careful more like it. You don't want to lose them.
  5. I just realized I can now take off my wedding ring without using Windex! Lol I had to use Windex to get It off before my surgery on Halloween.

  9. Puja - where are you in India? I was in Mumbai, with a short trip to Delhi and Agra. 10 day trip in total. To answer your questions, well, I took some Pure Protein Bars with me, and ate one per day. I also ate eggs for Breakfast. I'm pretty sure that some days I was below my Protein still, because there were a couple of meals at a friend's house that were vegetarian. I ate chickpeas and lentils those meals, but those aren't as protein rich as meat, I think. I tried to focus on protein as much as possible, and ate veggies like cauliflower when it was available. Like I said before, I still had rotis and rice and stuff, but just small helpings to tone down the spiciness. When it was available (it wasn't always served) I used raita to tone down the heat. I'm also pretty sure that my calorie counts were above normal (but apparently not more than I burn, maybe 1500-1700), especially the days I ate Butter chicken (YUM!). But I didn't really have a way to log it, and it was just 10 days, so I just listened to my sleeve about when it was full, and hoped that would be enough. I actually wasn't sure if I would lose weight or just hold steady while I was there, but I ended up losing, so that was great. It was a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, and I love Indian food, so I just decided I wasn't going to worry about it. The only time I really had a moment of regret was when I was eating some fabulous butter chicken, and wanted to eat more, but I just savored it as much as I could and then stopped when I got full. likasulema - good luck on your weight loss! I'm sure you'll be able to fit without a seat extender on your next trip. Its the little NSV's like that that really make a difference.

    October Bandsters!!!

Hi everyone! I have my first fill on Tuesday and I am super excited because the last couple of weeks have been tough. I did have two NSVs this week though. First, when I started going to the gym 5 weeks ago I could only do 10 min on the eliptical but yesterday I was on for 45 min. My legs were like jelly after but once I walked for a few minutes it was good. Then this morning I tried on my last pair of jeans in the closet. (I've never actually worn them, they were a pair I bought expecting to lose weight but then I got pregnant.) Anyway they fit and I wore them all day! Hooray. I'm so jealous of those of you who have gotten several fills. I am ready for my first one for sure!

    First Nsv For Me!!!

Hey, that's a really good NSV. Congrats
  13. We're coming up on our one year bandiversary in a couple weeks so I'm wondering how everyone is doing. Not just weight loss but also NSV's. How has your life improved. What are you able to do this year that you couldn't or wouldn't do last year? For me, I'm down 38 lbs per my last dr's visit but my nsv's are many. I feel better, my lab numbers are in the normal range, I'm wearing smaller clothes, people who haven't seen me in a while do a double take and a gal told me yesterday that I'm a shadow of my former self. I thought I'd be very close to my goal by now but it took me some time to get to the "green zone". Also, I've never been a fast loser and that still seems to still be the case after the band. I'm now losing about a pound a week. I'd love for it to be more but a pound is a pound and my doctor is thrilled with my progress. The biggest thing I've learned is just how little food I actually need. I've always just wanted to be a thin eater and now that's me. I had to get over the portion size idea in my head. I felt ripped off a little when i got back on real food because I simply couldn't eat 3 or 4 ounces of Protein and some green veggies. I can only eat a couple ounces and I'm not always full/satisfied for 3-4 hours but that's ok because I get to eat again later. Such a simple concept but it was a huge milestone. Anxious to hear how you all are doing.

    Calling all A11s!!

Howdy everyone! The weight is finally "falling off" for me, so I guess I'm in the "green zone" and if I can just remember to not START eating till I'm hungry, I should be good for a while! I had a major NSV yesterday. I scuba dive, and last time I went was in January. I had to hire a men's XL wetsuit and wear a L vest... So DH and I went diving yesterday, and I tried on and rented a M/L - I thought it was a men's size, but it was actually a WOMEN'S M/L. WOAH!!! It was sooooo tight, but there was no way I was going to swap it for a larger size once I got it on!!! Oh, and the vest was an M!

    Question About Soft Foods

Quit watching the scale so closely! Or, at least, quit letting it ruin your day. Yes, it's common to fluctuate from day to day. As we drink more, or eat a little more, it's going to bounce up and down. However, the overall trend WILL be downwards, you can't eat enough NOT to lose weight. Now, with all that said, I am guilty of looking at the scale every day. I just have to make myself not care when it's bouncing up and down. Look for the NSVs and concentrate on them. It will keep you from making yourself crazy. You're rocking that sleeve!!!

    Scared...gastric Sleeve Surgery

I think it's totally normal. I am having mine a day after you and while I am not terrified, I am alternating between nervousness, fear of complications, fear of losing my food, and excitement and thinking about hopeful NSVs. Then I have the thought that I will be like the ONE person for whom this doesn't work... Just keeps rotating, I feel really self-absorbed!!!
  17. I love being able to fit into old clothes! I have a huge pile in my closet full of clothes I "outgrew". WTG on this awesome NSV!!!

3 Weeks Into Lap Band Journey, Nsv

I was too embarrased to list my only other NSV, but here goes: For the 1st time in a while - my boobs stick out further than my belly LOL
  19. At the beginning of my journey my BMI was 47.4 - as of today, 3 weeks later - it is 44.5!! This is a great NSV for me!!!! I want to be healthy and live long enough to aggravate my children's children
  20. No I can't eat anything. I can have pureeds. I ordered a Soup that was crappy and ate 2 bites and was full whilst he is eating loaded yummy nachos and slurping down delicious looking soda! I just wanted to dig in. I also ordered some chicken quesadillas, (as I mentioned earlier I am a cheater) and well the chunks of chicken were too big to eat but I did manage a few bites. It was our first time out to eat. It was super hard and very depressing. Not to mention I look around the restaurant and I wonder why I was so worried about my weight in the first place, almost everyone there was overweight and larger than myself. I started doubting myself and this whole decision. I always think I could have done this on my own and then I could have had a damn cheat day if i wanted! Then I look at my super awesome 2 year old daughter who is my motivation for all of this and things always seem a bit brighter. I can't imagine her being made fun of her whole life for being overweight like I was. I tend to think if I am overweight she will think it is okay to eat and be overweight like me. I DO NOT want that for her. Exercise does indeed help, I will admit the first few times or even weeks totally sucked for me! I try and briskly walk anywhere from 3-5 miles a day on my treadmill. Like I said I have cheated and it wasn't worth it. I am supposed to be on pureed's. I have had mac and cheese, I have had chex mix, I have had chips, I have had cheese, I have had quesidillas, I have had popcorn, I have had peanut M&Ms, I have been a BAD sleeve patient. BTW that was all the things I ate just YESTERDAY! I tend to think I know everything and my surgeon is just babying me. Well now here I am wondering if I stretched my sleeve, wondering if I will have a leak, and I'm telling you I felt like complete crap after eating those things. My stomach was bloated, I got sweaty, I had to lay down, and I didn't get my Protein or liquids in for the day. It was so not worth it for me to advance. I would call your surgeons office about the support group meetings, if you havent already. Otherwise on here they have a ton of local groups and although I'm not entered in any I'm pretty sure they get together from time to time. It sounds like you are losing weight too, I ended up cheating because of the fact I hit a stall for so long and I got mad and ate food. Congrats on your weight loss and all of those NSV's. Time will pass and hopefully things will be better. I tend to think since I can't change what I have done I better just try and make the most of it. Keep up that exercise and the weight will melt off.

    1 Month Post Op

Those are some awesome NSV's! I hope those late nights and weekends get easier as you continue to gain more will power. It's great that you've even been able to at least recognize your threats, now you just have to figure out how to guard yourself from them. Good luck on your journey :-D

Sort Of A Nsv Conquering My "nemesis"

That is wonderful - making those changes PRE-band is a good indicator of how you'll do after! I have not tried any fast food yet, but will keep the Fiesta items in mind if I'm ever in need of some quick meal ideas! I say GOOD FOR YOU on your 1st NSV!!

    First Nsv For Me!!!

Ok...so I know this is probably the lamest NSV ever, but it amused the hell out of me so I thought I'd share. One of my favorite ways to unwind after a long day is with a hot bubble bath. Been super crazy busy for the last few weeks so I haven't been able to have one. Last night I finally made the time and started the Water. Apparently it had been longer than I thought, because when I got in the tub I realized that my butt no longer touches both sides of the tub!!! Woo hoo!! I actually have room, like 3 inches, on both sides!!! Made my whole day.... Thanks for listening, Kelly
