loretta\ Baconton Georgia replied to dixiechick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am trying to figure out what nsv stands for..lol -
What does "NSV" stand for? I know that it is something good but can't for the life of me figure it out. Also congrats on your progress!!

So yesterday I was sitting at work, a bit bored, it is holiday and there is not much to do. I was looking at my hands......and I no longer recognised them. My fingers are longer, or so it seems and it just looks more toned. Feels weird cause I can no longer say, I know something like the back of my hand, cause clearly I dont know my own hand. Just weird!>?Q?

I had my six week follow up with my primary care physician today. I like it when the nurse walks in and tells me I need a new picture for their file. I don't look like the original they took a year ago. The doctor was happy with my current weight loss. So that was the good news... ...Little did he know that I am at the same weight I was two weeks out of surgery. I didn't handle the Christmas holiday very well at all. I've tried to refocus this past week but am not having much luck. I feel like I could eat everything and anything, and sometimes catch myself doing just that. I've tried asking myself why I'm eating just to give myself a chance to put whatever I have down. That worked well for a while. Now I am eating because I can. I feel hungry a lot more often and there isn't any restriction to help. I don't go in for a fill until January 4th and it feels so far away. Somehow, I have to get through the weekend without completely losing it. I told myself I would be the same weight, if not less, on January 4th that I was at my two week checkup. As of this very moment, I'm losing that wage with myself. Instead of being down, I'm actually up two pounds. It makes me want to cry. I thought I could be stronger during this four week stretch. So while I love the reaction of the doctor and the nurse, I'm not happy with how I'm feeling right now. I don't want to be hungry anymore. I want to be able to eat a few bites of something and walk away from the table, not belly up for more.

I went to my primary care doctor yesterday because I have recently noticed that my resting heart rate is really low. I wasn't concerned until my blood pressure was running higher then normal on Monday. Well first the physician assistant came into the room and said it's the incredible shrinking woman, let's get you weighed. The my doc said that before surgery my heart rate was 70 and that it was lower now because of the exercise, particularly the running. I countered but that's the resting heart rate of an athlete, at which point she gently reminded me that I am running 9 miles at a clip and am an athlete!!! I have noticed that my weight is dropping quicker than my brain is able to comprehend and catch up. I still see myself as the big girl who needs to shop in Lane Bryant and def not as an athlete.

Nsv.. Just In The Nick Of Time
kll724 replied to dixiechick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! Happy New year to you! It only gets better. My most fun NSV was when my own daughter looked down an aisle for me, while we were shopping, and couldn't find me. I was there, but she didn't see me! Karen -
Nsv For Me At The Gym Today Yay

Love it, love it, love it... I too remember the feeling of the towel 'fitting'...lol! It might seem silly to others but it was a great moment for me too. I also like having a bath now and virtually all my body is below the water... just a lil island of the tummy left to be submerged...lol! Congrats on a great NSV! =] -
Today I had 2 much needed NSV. I have been struggling the last few weeks, and not seeing much progress . Today a girl at work said "hey skinny" ... I just kept walking knowing she was talking to someone else. She said Tracy I'm talking to you don't keep walking .. She told me she has notices how skinny I'm getting . Then I was headed out to take my 30 min walk on my lunch and ran into someone I had not seen in 6 months, and she "Ms. Tracy is that you ? You look amazing your beautiful !! Skinny And beautiful are two words that I have never considered of myself . I still have about 45lbs to go to get to my "skinny" goal. But needless to say. I now have a favorite new skinny outfit

Congrats, I know it's a big NSV, I actually used beach towels at first for the same reason. -
Ha ha, great little nsv! I'm staying with my in laws for Christmas, so the whole family was over yesterday, and whilst tidying up the aftermath my mother in law phones my sister in law to tell her our seven year old niece has left her coat behind. She was just about to dash it over to them when I heard my daughter's panicked cry of "No, dont that's MUMMY'S coat!" I get that I'm smaller, but seriously, confusing my clothes with those of a 7 year old??? Made me smile!

Nsv Times Two! A Double Whammy!

Those ARE great NSV's!! Enjoy the spoils forensik you deserve it with all your hard work! -
My lab director came in my office and made a comment to me "Why are you wearing your husbands shirt to work?"... I laughed. I am wearing my shirt that used to be snug and now it just falls off! It is thick and warm and its cold here today so I just inadvertantly put it on. I guess i will have to retire it now... The second one was what he said after that. We continued to chat and I said I had lost over 40 inches, 10 in my hips alone! He said, "Thats great but dont loose too much weight. You know you can loose too much!" It was the first time someone has said for me not to lose too much.. I am still considered obese and have 45 more pounds to loose to get in the middle of my normal range!!!! I took the comment as a positive though... I told him I still had 45 more pounds to go and he just shook his head and walked off. LMAO! Yay for getting healthy and thin and feeling great about bagging clothes and people saying not to lose to much... I want that problem!

Is It The 3 Week Stall?
Lissa replied to Less of Leslie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It WILL move again! You are at that 3 week stall, for sure. This is when taking measurements helps so much! While you're agonizing over the scale, your body is shrinking. Take some pics today and compare them to your pre-surgery pics. You'll be astonished by all the changes in your body and your face! Stalls happen and, despite anything we do, they are going to happen. We just have to find the NSVs to make them more tolerable! You are doing great! -
Hey guys! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is enjoying the holiday season! I was thinking about goals, what I want to accomplish, and of course, with New Year's just around the corner, resolutions! I never really made any before, especially weight loss ones, because I just knew it wouldn't work. But with this awesome new tool in my possession, I decided I should since I know it'll happen! Here are my resolutions/goals, both weight and non-weight related: -Achieve onederland by my birthday in August. I figured 48 pounds in 8.5 months is doable. -To be considered a "hot geek." I love video games, superheroes, cartoons/anime, anything geeky! -Go to New Orleans this summer. My friend and I have been saving up so this is a huge possibility. -Six Flags is calling my name and I want to be able to ride roller coasters without embarrassing myself trying to squeeze into a ride or to go to the Water park without feeling self-concious and having to wear a t-shirt and shorts. -Properly clean out the trunk of my car! -This is an evil one. I want to be able send a picture of me to my cheating ex-boyfriend with the caption, "If only you knew what you would be losing." -Study abroad. I was offered before, but the places I could have gone (amazing places!) were, well, for a lack of a better term, "skinny countries." I knew if I went, I'd be perpetuating the stereotype of the "typical fat American." Being shy doesn't help, either. -Graduate with my Bachelor's in Art and Design. What are your goals and resolutions for the upcoming year? They can pertain to weight loss, NSVs, or anything! I'd love to hear some.
