    Twenties NSVs

thats awesome laur! I remember when I first fit into my old pair of size 16s; it was such a good feeling not having to lay down on the bed and suck in just to button it. (and to think.... now six months after that NSV i am almost HALF that size?!) sorry you have been feeling down lately. My boobs took awhile before they got smaller.. I still fit into my old 38D bras, but they aren't busting out of them anymore I guess, and I don't have those back fat rolls from struggling to clasp it in the back. Don't get down on yourself too hard! You have to remember how far you've come in such a short time.. and the fact that you are STILL losing weight! it takes awhile for the mind to catch up with the body... believe me, mine is still wayyy way behind. and mrriceguy-- I hope you are proud of yourself for that 3 mile jog! I was only just now able to run 5k a week or two ago... and you are running with more weight on you so now I am feeling like I need to step my game up if I am going to keep up with YOU! and I am sooooo jealous that you went hiking in Alaska. That sounds like an awesome trip.

    Twenties NSVs

Ok so I wanted to revive this thread! I had a major NSV last night. Here is a little background at my heaviest I was about 345 so as you can imagine not many guys would flirt or look at me at the bars. Well now I am down about 57 lbs, with alot to go! But I went to a country bar last night. And this really HHOOTT guy was hanging out with my group. Well we talked all night long and I was really flirting with him. And guess what?! He actually flirted back. Now I could get the ok guys to flirt or what not. But this guy was HHOOTT. And wasnt a bum! I was so proud of myself that I didnt act shy and was actually flirting with him. Now I will admit I did have a little bit of help from Alocohol but this was a big step for me. It was totally inspired me today!

    Twenties NSVs

Yay for you! I have a similar NSV like that-- today I wore some jeans from high school that were tight on me then... and now they are too LOOSE! cant wait to go jeans shopping next week. :sneaky: yesterday, we had really nice weather for once so i went to the rec center wearing some capri sweats from last year (when they fit kind of like spandex on me). BIG MISTAKE!! i started jogging (i know right-- me? ME? jogging?!) and the pants started falling DOWNNNNN! awesome.
  5. Well I started the summer season with my kids today by going to the local Water park. Even though I have lost 100 lbs since last summer, I found myself still getting nervous while driving there....keep the cover up on or take it off were my thoughts. I decided to ditch the cover up and go with bathing suit only. Even with all my loose skin, I felt good having the confidence to not wear a cover up over my suit for the first time in over 10 years. I also had the best time climbing the water jungle gym with my 5 yo daughter. Now you must know that this area has water pouring from every direction, slides, climbing nets, a ton of stairs, and the need to dodge children of all ages at a moments notice. I managed all of this with skill and grace...well maybe not grace. It felt amazing to be able to run around, climb stairs, NOT afraid that I would get stuck in the slide on the way down and actually not getting stuck in any part of the smaller spaces of this contraption. Another reason to be happy with my choice of having the sleeve done. I say this everyday but today it really hit home "BEST THING I EVER DID FOR MYSELF and MY FAMILY"!!! Hope others had a good day and if you didn't....please have a good one tomorrow.

    My FIRST pair of Jeans!!

WhooHoo Chancie!!!! I bet you look fabulous in your new JEANS even if you weren't able to provide pictures. Congrats on your NSV! :scared0:
  9. Last night, my husband and I went out. I dressed in a shortish dress with my hair french-braided and cute shoes and I felt so good about how I looked. But that's not the NSV... We were out sort of late. This morning, I heard the dogs and thought I'd let my husband sleep in so I quietly got up and grabbed my jeans and t-shirt off the chair and snuck into the bathroom to get dressed. When I put on the jeans and buttoned/zipped them, they were tight. I was all "WTF?" because my jeans have been pretty loose - I need to wear a belt with most of them. So I was surprised that the jeans were tight. I looked in the bathroom mirror and sort of turned a little and noticed that the back pocket had a faded square that was perfectly the shape of a wallet. I HAD PUT ON MY HUSBAND'S JEANS BY MISTAKE! And they fit! Oh, they were a little tight but I could wear them!! What an awesome feeling. I had a bit of a whoosh these past few days, so I'm down to 215.5.
  10. Maybe not a major NSV ..but it's been a long while since I was able to wear my hair short because of my fat face ....now I can again! Here's the am ..my old do And here I am in the pm!

Kristen's Journey From Pre-Op and Beyond

    Oh snap! I forgot to do my monthly update here. Sorry. On 1/1/15 I weighed in at 217.2 for a total of 43.6 lost since I started my pre-op diet. I lost 8 pounds in December. Since my goal is 2 pounds a week I met my goal! Measurements are very impressive. Let's do a comparison! 10/2/14 Neck - 15 Liver - 45 Waist - 45 Hips - 53 Arm - 16 1/2 Thighs - 27 1/2 1/1/15 Neck - 13 1/2 Liver - 39 Waist - 38 Hips - 45 Arm - 14 1/2 Thighs - 25 Total Lost Neck - 1 1/2 Liver - 6 Waist - 7 Hips - 8 Arm - 2 (each) Thighs - 2 1/2 (each) NSV: Everyone has noticed my weight loss this week and told me I look just like my mom which is a major compliment. I'm so thrilled with my progress so far!

Kristen's Journey From Pre-Op and Beyond

My coworker who has known me for 10 years (he's seen me at all my weights, especially my heaviest) saw me walking across the lobby to my office and he said, "I just saw you walking across the lobby and I didn't recognize you." ???? Nice NSV.

Since when am i photogenic? NSV!

Isn't that a wonderful NSV! And you did it on accident?!?!? How luck are you. My candid shots always break the camera. They don't look good.
  14. so today I had to go to a wedding .... needed some pantyhose...went to Lane Bryant. But was told Lane Bryant doesnt sell pantyhose any longer, just tights...control top tights... I havent worn tights in 40 years! But in a rush bought them anyway. Got home started getting dressed and this is how it goes..... The skirt I planned to wear was too big...had to change to a black dress I have, it was ok...but kinda baggy. Picked out a "sexy" kind of bra thats always been "tight"...it isnt anymore!! Put on the tights, without a problem!! My black dress shoes were too big too!! had to wear a flat pair! Dont get me wrong, I love the fact that everything is getting bigger...and I am getting slimmer. But wow! all at once?

    Kathy's Slow Loser NSV List

Wow, I haven't checked in here in a while! here's a clothes NSV. Since I'm freezing cold all the time, I'm now keen on long-sleeved shirts. Go figure. So I go to Kohl's and try on the XL (in the regular Women's sections, not the Plus sized 1X, 2X or 3X I used to buy) and the XL is too big! WOW! So I now have 5 long-sleeved cotton stretch t-shirts in pretty fall colors in Large. Plain ole Large. My numbers game isn't going very well. I'm sooo stuck on actual weight loss, even inches aren't budging much. I'm out of the Curves habit, and recovering from the Halloween candy habit. That one got me pretty good for a few weeks. I thought I could finish this journey without another fill. I so want to avoid the fill/unfill game, but I give up. I have a consult Wed with a local band doc. A REAL band doctor. I'll get a flouro fill and discuss an endoscope with him. I'm tired of wondering if something is wrong with my little band friend. I'm 18+ months out, and haven't done a thing with my band in 13 months. No fills, nada. Time for a check up. I was hoping I'd be in MX with my sister getting her band, but she's not ready to fork over the cash just yet, so I'll not wait for her any longer. I want to see my band. I'll start with a flouro fill and go from there.

    Kathy's Slow Loser NSV List

Oh my goodness...I forgot to reply to your post! Sorry Leatha. Here's the dealio, when we were inducted into the Slow Losers Club, Vinesqueen told us we had to start our own Slow Loser NSV list. So lots of us each have own thread to list our NSV's. You can post yours on mine if you want, but not everyone is as interested in mine as yours, so if you post your own thread, more folks will see it. You did and got lots of great replies. So there. Sorry it took me so long to 'splain that. Keep posting yours here if you want. I don't mind a bit!!!! (((hugs))))

YES! That's like 2 NSV's! Needing the smaller shirt, AND recognizing and being willing to get it! VBS is Vacation Bible School-you know what that is!-lots of churches do them in the summer for the kids, it's an all week-evening thing with dinner, skits, singing, crafts...fun fun fun! hmmmm...is VBS a "Southern Thang"? I never thought about it, maybe it is?

Wow!!! You girls are all doing great!! Michelle - 70 lbs, awesome!! Kelly - 30 lbs to goal, wonderful!! Meggie - 45lbs, great job!! Life definitely does happen!! I can't believe it's been 8 weeks for us. I have lost 27 lbs since the surgery which I feel is kinda of slow but I also lost 43 lbs prior. I am very happy with a total of 70 lbs since February. I finally had to clean out my closet and get some smaller clothes, my 24's were literally falling off. I think my favorite NSV since the surgery happened on a recent business trip. I got on the plane and felt totally comfortable in that tiny little seat AND I had an extra 6 inches of seatbelt!! It was awesome!! Let's keep rockin' this sleeve girls.

    Name Your NSV

My NSV's are loose wedding rings. I had to get new clothes and underwear and my bra's are too big again. I have so much energy I have to keep my walk going longer. I even bought size 12 pants and had to sew a dart in the waist of the. My husband said take them back and get a 10 but my butt still needs the 12 I had to explain to him. LOL
  24. Wow, you look just amazing. I am so inspired by you. I can't tell you how much I want to have that experience, and be able to buy a wedding dress in a single digit size. Congrats, that is such an wonderful NSV.
