Nsv.. Just In The Nick Of Time

    Wonderful NSVs!!
  2. Attached is a picture showing my beginning jean size (26W) and my current jeans size (10P). I saw a similar picture to this on the forum and thought I would do one, too. There is 108 pounds difference in weight. My waist has dropped from 46.5" to 32". (still TOO BIG) My hips have dropped from 48" to 36". I think I will leave these hanging on the back of the door for inspiration.

    Cool Travel Nsv!

I had a nsv at the movie theatre today. I was able to cross my legs comfortably in my seat!
  4. So yesterday was my 9 years wedding anniversary and the hubby took me out for dinner to Logan's and,I ordered a grilled chicken breast with a baked sweet potato and I shared my meal with my 2 year old baby. I asked for a to go box before I start eating my meal and I took out of my plate the food that I was not going to eat I was so full with 2 bites of chicken and 2 tsp of sweet potato. I was so happy!!! Before I could eat the whole plate and ask for desert Yay for my sleeve. I took home the left overs and my daughter and my husband had some. I just had 2 bites of the chicken for lunch. Now that I am not allow to eat much I realized the ridiculous portions of food that restaurants serve here in America and is worse in Texas lol I just wanted to share my first experience dining out
  5. Today is my 46th birthday. Hard for me to wrap my head around being this old. I don't feel 46, but I am. Since my birthday is 6 days after Christmas and I received a very nice expensive camera for Christmas, I was not expecting anything for my birthday other than the camera case we had to buy separately. My loving husband surprised with me a gift card to go shopping to get clothes that fit me a bit better. (This is the NSV part) When I started out, I was wearing a size 28 pants. I have made it down to recently to size 18 but they are getting a bit loose on me so I wanted to try on a size 16 to see if they fit. I wasn't expecting much but I thought I would try it out. Well, the size 16 pants were to big for me, and I ended up buying 3 pair of pants in size 14 and 1 top that is a Large or just an X. Can't remember what it is. One of the new pants are a skinny fit and make my legs look quite skinny. I was pretty much shocked. There was a pair of pants in the store I really liked but they didn't have any in the size I needed. I told the clerk it is a completely new experience for me to not be able to buy something because it is to big for me. Talk about a head smack experience. Today has been a good day, so far. Friends and family coming over a little later for dinner and then watching the ball drop. I love my sleeve and my emerging new body. (I never thought I would ever say that) Sheila
  6. Hello everyone I just want to stop in and give an update of my progress. Well as you see in my topic I have lost 116 pounds so far. This has been an amazing journey this far. There have been some challenging times but I am greatful for them all because they teach me as I have been going through this journey. I have went from a size 30/32 I am currently in a size 22 and they are baggy!!! :-) I hope you can feel the excitement I feel. I am no longer on water pills. I cannot sleep with my sleep apnea machine because the pressure is to strong and it dries me out. My knees don't hurt anymore. I have enery to workout and play with my kids. I work with the public, and ALL of my customers notice it. Some of my vendors walk in and have not seen me in months and they don't realize it is me until i speak to them!! This has been an exciting time in my life... I am so greatful to God for this blessing that he has given me! :-) So as you see I have several NSV's but those are the ones I remember as I am typing. I want badly to upload pictures but I don't know how. Don't judge me... LOL LOL. SO if someone could tell me how and I will upload some progress pictures forn you guys to see. I am sooooooooooooooooooo (overboard with the o's) excited and overjoyed about my results this far. By the way my surgery date was August 25, 2011.

    First Nsv For Me!!!

Thanks, I was racking my brain and couldn't figure it out. I am new to this site and I was banded on Dec 13th. I enjoy reading everybody's post and I am looking forward to my own "nsv's"
  10. I started a new job on Monday. On Wednesday a coworker said, "I think you went to school with my husband". She told me his name which sounded vaguely familiar....lets face it, I graduated 30+ years ago! She then went on to say, "He said you were heavy in school and I told him it must be someone with the same name because you were VERY THIN!"

    December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??

i was banded dec 13th, so far i feel great . i lost about 6 lbs pre=op and about 6 lbs afterwards. now im in "bandster hell" as my appetite has returned. i know this is temporary, as i have my first post op appt jan 9th. hopefully i get my 1st fill too. ive had 2 nsv's so that made me feel good even when the scale is stuck. best of luck to all bandsters !!

    First Nsv For Me!!!

patty119- a nsv means "non scale victory", and its anything that is a victory over something you coudnt or didnt have before, not a number on the scale. a compliment, pants that are too loose, walking upstairs without hurting..... you get the picture. hope you have lots and lots, because they sure make you feel good when the scale isnt moving !!
  13. i was banded dec 13th and im having the exact same prob as you. however i was told to expect this as i would regain my appetite and poss gain back a little before my 1st fill and checkup on jan 9th. this is a "temporary setback", and not to worry about it. if my first fill is the right amount for me then i will start losing weight. if its not then it may take time to fine tune my band. in the meantime i was told this is the healing phase and not neccesarily the loosing phase. keep this in mind so you dont look upon this as a "failure". its not, its temporary !! youre doing great if youre healing ! keep your chin up and good luck on future nsv's !!!! ive had one or two already , arent they great ??

One Thing I Can't Wait To Do...

My 14 yr old neice said I looked like a grandma the other day. lol I was wearing the ONLY thing that barely fit with a black cardigan like jacket over it and black flats. (since my legs swell and I cant wear boots) It was funny, I gotta admit, but I cant wait to shop and get stylish clothes!! I agree with the money jar idea that I read. For every NSV, put some money in it for when we reach goal and need to purchase our new wardrobe!

    Random Nsv!

Ha! That's a fun and funny NSV! I love it! )
  19. So yesterday I was sitting at work, a bit bored, it is holiday and there is not much to do. I was looking at my hands......and I no longer recognised them. My fingers are longer, or so it seems and it just looks more toned. Feels weird cause I can no longer say, I know something like the back of my hand, cause clearly I dont know my own hand. Just weird!>?Q?
  20. I had my six week follow up with my primary care physician today. I like it when the nurse walks in and tells me I need a new picture for their file. I don't look like the original they took a year ago. The doctor was happy with my current weight loss. So that was the good news... ...Little did he know that I am at the same weight I was two weeks out of surgery. I didn't handle the Christmas holiday very well at all. I've tried to refocus this past week but am not having much luck. I feel like I could eat everything and anything, and sometimes catch myself doing just that. I've tried asking myself why I'm eating just to give myself a chance to put whatever I have down. That worked well for a while. Now I am eating because I can. I feel hungry a lot more often and there isn't any restriction to help. I don't go in for a fill until January 4th and it feels so far away. Somehow, I have to get through the weekend without completely losing it. I told myself I would be the same weight, if not less, on January 4th that I was at my two week checkup. As of this very moment, I'm losing that wage with myself. Instead of being down, I'm actually up two pounds. It makes me want to cry. I thought I could be stronger during this four week stretch. So while I love the reaction of the doctor and the nurse, I'm not happy with how I'm feeling right now. I don't want to be hungry anymore. I want to be able to eat a few bites of something and walk away from the table, not belly up for more.
  21. I went to my primary care doctor yesterday because I have recently noticed that my resting heart rate is really low. I wasn't concerned until my blood pressure was running higher then normal on Monday. Well first the physician assistant came into the room and said it's the incredible shrinking woman, let's get you weighed. The my doc said that before surgery my heart rate was 70 and that it was lower now because of the exercise, particularly the running. I countered but that's the resting heart rate of an athlete, at which point she gently reminded me that I am running 9 miles at a clip and am an athlete!!! I have noticed that my weight is dropping quicker than my brain is able to comprehend and catch up. I still see myself as the big girl who needs to shop in Lane Bryant and def not as an athlete.
  22. Wow! Happy New year to you! It only gets better. My most fun NSV was when my own daughter looked down an aisle for me, while we were shopping, and couldn't find me. I was there, but she didn't see me! Karen
  23. Love it, love it, love it... I too remember the feeling of the towel 'fitting'...lol! It might seem silly to others but it was a great moment for me too. I also like having a bath now and virtually all my body is below the water... just a lil island of the tummy left to be submerged...lol! Congrats on a great NSV! =]
  24. Today I had 2 much needed NSV. I have been struggling the last few weeks, and not seeing much progress . Today a girl at work said "hey skinny" ... I just kept walking knowing she was talking to someone else. She said Tracy I'm talking to you don't keep walking .. She told me she has notices how skinny I'm getting . Then I was headed out to take my 30 min walk on my lunch and ran into someone I had not seen in 6 months, and she "Ms. Tracy is that you ? You look amazing your beautiful !! Skinny And beautiful are two words that I have never considered of myself . I still have about 45lbs to go to get to my "skinny" goal. But needless to say. I now have a favorite new skinny outfit
