The view from 'down there' (a ladies room post)
finediva replied to dhrguru's topic in The Gals' Room
@dhrguru. Nsv? Risqué? Either way I'm still blushing. And I'm grown, married, blah, blah, blah. ... -
Great victories for both of you!!! I'll add some to the list: 1. Got up this morning to do my Saturday chores (laundry, vacuum, sweep, mop, etc) that usually take me all day to do. When I finished, after going non-stop, I looked at the clock... it was only noon! So, not only did I go non-stop with full energy for 3 hours, but I get extra play time this weekend! 2. Put on a pair of pants yesterday that fit before surgery. They fell right off!! I'm thinking this one should have been listed first! 3. Had to tighten my bi-pap mask AGAIN last night. As my face gets smaller, I have issues with it not staying on my face. 4. Doc lowered dose of two meds on Thursday, with labs required again next week to see if I am able to come off them. That's enough for now, except that I am every day I am enjoying my new ability to walk, my higher energy level, and the knowledge that this weight WILL come off of me. That's an NSV that is priceless!

Nsv - Airline Seatbelts!
dsferfeargregrhgttrhht posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I flew for the first time this weekend since having the surgery in July. Wow! What a difference. I used to be able to put the seatbelt on, but it would be snug and stretched out to the max length. When I put it on this time around, I pulled a good 6-10 inches of seatbelt to make it fit properly. The scale hasn't moved in a month or more, but things like this are keeping me going! -

Crossing your legs is a great NSV! Congratulations!!!
-
OMG, this is so awesome! Started crossing my legs about a month ago and I actually felt like I wasnt going to fall over! hahaha. Too bad it increases occurrence of spider/varicose veins though... :-( Awesome NSV still!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the band!

Omg jealoussss. I would LOVE to buy a bra without needing to look for straps that'll hold in my back fat and looking for sizes in the 40's. I'm also super freakin' psyched to buy underwear that isn't elastic to hold in my tummy. Hell maybe even a thong! :3 Ps what is an nsv?

Congrats on your great NSV!!! What a great feeling!

I wasnt prepared for how amazing this would make me feel!! I got in the bath and i felt like something was different.. i realised that my hips no longer reach the sides! I am no longer a human dam stopping all up all the water! After i sprung outta the bath i THEN realised that my towel actually fits all the way round my body instead of either my bum or my boob poking out!! Theni got dressed and i critically examined myself and you know what.. i CAN see a difference! I have got a little slimmer! Obviously its early days but to finally see some kinda results.. There are no words to describe how excited i felt! sorry for rambling but just wanted to share! Best wishes

Nsv Turning Crappy Days To Happy Days
sleeve 4 me replied to Aussiegirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Whoo hoo! I totally get what you are saying! Huge NSV! Celebrate!!!! -
I went through 20 years of starving to lose 40 lbs only to gain back 60, god knows how many times. I'm not one who craves large amounts of junk food and it's now impossible for me to sit down and eat a side of ribs or 2 dozen tamales. By the way I had a major "for me anyway" NSV, well it did involve a scale so anyway? We had our annual YMCA meltdown weigh in today I GOT TO WEIGH IN ON THE REGULAR SCALE WITH EVERYONE ELSE!!! Now I'm psyched. For the last 5 years I've had to use the packing scale in the warehouse with the other fat people. Down side is I'm entering a weight loss competition having just lost 43 lbs in 5 weeks but what the heck it's better than the alternative.

Thanks Christasha! I'm on a real high right now - check out my post in the NSV thread - what a great week! :crying:

Yesterday, I went to my yearly Diabetes check-up. I also needed to check my blood pressure because I had stopped taking my blood pressure medicine a month ago. My Blood pressure was (with no medication) 102/75!! And the doctor had to change my status to "NON-DIABETIC"! She said it is a rare treat to change a patient's status for the postive. My diabetes was the main reason I got the band. What a great day!

What do you want to do when your skinny (or thinner)
nu2ywg replied to helen098's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome thread! I had a lot of similar goals and have reached most of them through the summer. Best ones so far: Having tons more energy to play with my kids - I've been to fairs and waterparks and actually played with the kids on all the rides, slides etc. Having lots of room in an airplane seat - flew in July when I hit my hundred pound mark and it was MARVELOUS! Shopping in regular stores - goodbye plus size stores forever! While it's still a wee bit uncomfortable to cross my legs in a straightback chair, I cross my legs all the time on sofas and other types of seating. This thread is fabulous. It made me appreciate the nsv's I have achieved and look forward to more. Good luck to all of you who are at the beginning of the journey, you have great goals! -
Almost 11 months post-op -- wanted to share some NSVs

DaMomb, I love your VS NSV!! That is great! :mad2: -
I love flying and riding roller coasters. Both of these things are hard for someone who is 160 pounds overweight. I flew to NYC in June (120 pounds down!) and didn't have to ask for a seatbelt extension! And today we are at Worlds of Fun and I can ride EVERY RIDE! I love weightloss!!

That's a great NSV! I can especially related as I can wear pantyhose now and my thighs no longer rub together. I hated the rash I would get at the end of the day or evening from the friction...and let's not forget the sweating getting in and out of the pantyhose as well. These days it's no big deal anymore and going to the ladies room is just a quick pull them down and pull them back up. The little things are so so so important.

Wow! Had to get a new drivers license today and with a the crazy new technology the computer asked for more ID! It didn't recognize me as the same person I was 5 years ago and 105 pounds heavier! Best visit to DMV ever!

6 weeks out, tired, grumpy, & I miss food
RJ'S/beginning replied to ChavaBling's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so sorry, but your venting made me laugh..So many things that we all experienced and the buyers remorse shining through your complaints. Hold on kid it is going to get better. I promise you. Life is going to start to hand you some pretty cool experiences called NSV. And then you will say I am so glad I did this. Mean while it takes time to get used to all the changes and rules..of our new life style. But it will become very manageable for you as well as routine very soon. Take the time to really enjoy exploring new foods that would be interesting to try. And then for sure you will have conversations about food. The whole reason you had this surgery in the first place was because of your addiction to the chemical reaction in your brain and lack of self control while enjoying the chemical reaction in your brain. But if you learn to make good, nutritional choices and make them tasty. There will be lots to talk about and you will be helping your body as well. I am never hungry either and have not been hungry all along...If i did not have Reactive Hypoglycemia I probably would not eat as often as I do and then I would be smaller then I am now...... Trust me girl it will all come together and you are going to be so proud of yourself!!!!!!! -
When you need to renew your Driver's License.... And you are smaller than the weight you lied about weighing last time. Last time I subtracted 40 lbs LOL

Had a great NSV today. My spa has normal/plus size robes for us ladies. Today the tech led me over to the lockers with the normal size robes. Could hardly believe it!

I went to the hospital this morning to have a stress test. I need a colonoscopy and my doctor wanted something checked out regarding my ECG. I've been through hell and back in terms of my health so I'm not going to worry about anything unless or until I have to. But the visit was chock full of NSVs from the gown being too big on me (rather than my having to hold it closed, or even wear two of them, back to front and front to back) to the nurse being blown away when she saw my pre band photo once she pulled up my electronic records to fitting into the echo machine. One time I had to have a special part put into the MRI machine so my huge trunk-like leg would fit into it. Talk about embarrassing. I remember with such intensity, worrying about almost every situation in terms of my once obese body. Would I fit into something? Would I break something? Would someone say something nasty to me? Would I embarrass whomever I was with? Right now these feelings are very strong because the weight loss is new. I need to find that balance so I don't focus on it, but I don't lose sight of it either. I don't ever ever ever want to be heavy again.

Oh, that's a great NSV!!! Enjoy it to the fullest!
