Am I Going To Lose Friends Over My Lapband?

wow ! ive only been banded 1 month and ive had nothing but supportive comments from family a nd co workers who know about it. i feel great , and ive lost 15lbs total. in the last 2 days ive received 2 compliments about how good im looking! some of my old clothes fit and so im dressing nicer. if sombody gives you grief about anything just explain youre doing something healthy for your body. wait until you get your 1st nsv ! (non-scale victory) clothes that finally fit, a nice compliment, walking without being tired, etc ) hope all goes well for you, mine has been a breeze !! just had my 1st fill. doing fine ! i'll be thinking of you on surgery day ! -
Anyone Have Trouble Getting Your Rings Off Pre-surgery

Not a problem getting it off pre-surgery, but now I can't wear it post. I was talking with a co-worker gesturing with my hands when my ring flew off of my finger! I will get it sized probably around my 1 year surgiversary. Just one NSV to look forward to. -

I love your NSVs, and you look great! Going to the salon is always an uncomfortable experience when big. Those shampoo capes are so unflattering. Your hair is very pretty! -
Those are the BEST NSV I've ever read! I completely understand where you are coming from....my last cut before my surgery I almost tipped over in the salon chair when I was getting seated. I was so embarrassed and my hairdresser was shocked. After reading your post, I can't wait to go back and see how easy it is to sit in those chairs!!!! I'm so happy for you!!! Thx for the pics. You look beautiful! There are more NSVs to come, too!!!

Remember that the scale isn't the only place where you see results. I was very surprised when I was going down in sizes but the scale was staying the same. I guess that's called NSV (non scale victories). Your body just readjusts the weight and its wonderful.

Almost A Month Post-op

congrats ! im 4 weeks out and have only lost 12 lbs. had my 1st fill today, hopefully this will calm down my returning appetite. you lost 20 so far ? wow thats great ! im down 1 pant size so far, hopefully those little nsv's (non scale victories) will keep you motivated when the scale doesnt move . good luck !! -
Some recent NSV's: 1. I fit in an airplane seat without my butt squishing onto the next seat. lol 2. I put on a pair of size 16 jeans and they fit!! (I started at 24) 3. My boss and co-worker keep telling me how jealous they are of my hourglass figure and how they wish they had a tiny waist like mine.

8.5 months post op ~ Oh yeah got my ass into some size 8 jeans wow from a 20 to a 8 single digit are you serious, I cant even remember the last time I wore that size

That is awesome! I would definitely consider that an NSV! When things like that happen, it reminds me of when I was the plump one making comments to "skinny" people. Your perspective changes when you become the skinny one. We never know the journey of others.

I am a grocery checker at a large store. Yesterday I had a plump women come through my line with a lot of lean cuisine meals. I told her that I loved them and used them as my lunch on work days.(I only can eat half of it!) She gave me a look while sizing me up and said "Why? You don't look like you need to lose any weight!" Me not needing to lose weight I love it! Here she thought she was being nasty to me and she actually made my day!! I still have 12 pounds left to go, but boy do I feel good now, I could not stop smiling the rest of the day!

So, my best sisterfriend and I decided to head to the beauty shop on Saturday afternoon (bad idea!!)... to Celebrate the great weather in Chicago and I desperately needed a TRIM!!! I had several NSVs in the salon.. They included... I sat in the dryer chair (for 2 hours!!) comfortably.. with it digging into my thighs and me having to strategically wedge myself in it! The shampoo cape actually closed around my just fat neck and didn't pop open 2 million times like w/ my previously REALLY fat neck!! My just fat neck actually fit into the shampoo bowl divot w/ ease.. where my previously VERY fat neck wouldn't and I would end up w/ a very wet back!! No Water on my back this time!! My shirt and jacket don't fit any more!! YEAH!!!! I love it!! I'm actually okay w/ my prematurely grey hair.. cause my head is getting smaller!!! (See pic)

I weighed myself and forgot to post it! Surgery January 1, 2011 5"8"" Starting: 239.8 Goal met November 1, 2011: 155 Current weight: 144.0 OH NSV for me today... Bought a pair of size 2 pants..........Thank you LORD!

wow congrats you look amazing too btw.. gotta love having those NSV's for the times that the scale doesnt wanna cooperate its so nice to go ... oh yea baby.. i still got it.. lol.. well for 5 months out your doing terrific!
