The good news is when I weighed in yesterday I was down 25 pounds from my pre op diet! Am calling Dr. office today to talk about re-scheduling. My problem is I started a new job and haven't accumulated much sick leave or vacation time. The University closes over Christmas so I am off for 1 1/2 weeks right now and timing would have been great if surgery would have been as scheduled!

Will tell you more about my experience in Athens. Have a wonderful Christmas, will get back to you later in the week.

I had VSG september 2010 and still not able to eat more than 2 bites at a time. I had a major leak at 6 days post op and spent 44 days in the hospital with 2 surgeries for repair. Had gallbladder removed early december 2010 due to excessive vomiting 3-4 times per day. I think I have a milk allergy and none of the protein supplements stay down. Im weak all the time and have not been back to work.

Hey Becca, I haven't been too tired. I've felt fine, in fact. Regarding food, I've been on mushies for a week now, so I haven't had any problems (but I also haven't tried any new foods). I think if you want to try something new, maybe try it in the evening when you aren't at work if you are concerned.

So glad your in the 60's now ...I've been stuck at 166 for 1 week now ugh...oh well better than gaining like I normally would this time of the year

Well IMO you really came close enough to say you pretty much did make it. It is so true, I'm such a streaky loser that I'll lose 6-7 Lbs in a matter of days then nothing for weeks... it's ok though! I know I'm losing! I'm even sitting here in a pair of jeans I absolutely couldn't fit before surgery, and right now they look like I got poopy pants... haaa!!!

Surgery was beautiful! It was the same day as the Blizzard of 2011 ~ got to stay inpatient Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday as the hospital was basically CLOSED ~ Had my drain & staples removed today, advanced from Clear Liquids to Full ~ had a protein shake and BLENDERIZED cottage cheese, what a TREAT! Please keep the well wishes comin', I need them! Any FULL LIQUID favorites? Love to you all ! <3

Hey Deb, If you have time, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind telling me some of the typical foods that you are eating now that you're a little farther out...my body is really stalling on me, and I am curious what others are doing who are still steadily losing weight! Any thoughts?

Yep..that's me!! HA! Long time no see huh?? So good to make contact with you again!! Missed our chats!! <3

Google the "cottage cheese" test. . . The pouch test will NOT show anyone their pouch or sleeve capacity. The 5 day pouch test is just to purge carbs, and get back on track with protein first.
My max capacity with the cottage cheese test at 18 months out was a whopping 4.7 or 4 and 3/4 ounces.

Hi Mrspalmours I want to know what are my options on how to get an expedited appeal with a successful approval. I have UHC EPO and I live in Fl this is my story I have UHC EPO and I live in Fla. I was denied last week for wls. The reason was because they didn't have my BMI nor my 5 year history. I notified Dr. Jawad's office about this and they assured me that they sent everything over....

YAY! CONGRATS!!! I have an appointment next week to go over the pre-op diet and all other pre-op info. I don't have to do as long of a liquid diet since I already have a lapband (although it hasn't worked in three years-LOL). I will let you know if I find out anything new. Do you think you will have your surgery in December?
